Bumbo seat age?!

I'm thinking of getting one for LO but wondering if it's too soon to use? She is 9 weeks. Weights just under 13 lbs and can hold her head up well. How many if u are using it already?

  • All my kids started using theirs around 8-10 weeks, Salem loves hers...

  • I just got one for my 12 week old. He started liking to sit up in our laps about a week ago and has also been holding his head up well for many many weeks. He looooves the bumbo!! I did notice that the first few days he looked a little tired after he was in it for about 5-8 min, but he's starting to get stronger and can stay in longer without slumping.
  • Directions say 5-6 months, I thought. It's to help them sit up after they have good head control. Otherwise it could be bad for their neck/spine.

  • As soon as lo can hold head up, even if not for long periods. I started my lo on one recently for just a few minutes at a time. It helps to build back and neck strength. She's 11 wo.
  • The manufacturer does not specify an age. The box says when LO has great head control. My LO has been holding her head up since day 1, started putting her in her bumbo at 11 weeks. She loves it!

Here is my little guy in his.
  • We started putting DD in hers at 6 weeks for a few minutes at a time. She's up to about 5-10 minutes a day in it at 8 weeks. She loves it! But I take her out if her head bobbles.
