It is very very average. I bought it after reading the comments and some youtubers talk about it.. there are plenty of lovely Middle eastern fragrances that can make your spending valuable than this.. its too average that I felt disappointed instantly as I sprayed first.. bottle and sprayer are good though.. juice is meh..

lalalunevail

This was a blind buy for me, and I went ahead with it because of how everyone says its a mostly sweet perfume. I honestly don't think so LOL. Something about it feels soapy, right out of the shower type of soapy. It might be the starfruit, but I really wouldn't say this is a sweet perfume. I don't get vanilla either, or the spice... hmm. Might need this one to sit in the dark for a bit before trying it again.

Many years ago my cousin gave me this perfume, and I must've given it away again because I never tested it -- I was quite into floral scent profiles back then. A rush of nostalgia and seeing this on sale for $20 led me to blind buy it recently, and I am slapping my past self for letting it go. By far, this has been the complimented fragrance by men -- and I have a few more expensive ones!

Guess by Marciano smells like eating dried mangoes on a cool evening in the tropics. The fruit is tart and sweet, filling your nose with a delicious, juicy roundness. Your sundress blows in the breeze as you rest your head on your lover's shoulder, the hem catching lightly on the driftwood you're sitting on. The moon begins to rise.

This was a blind buy and I have to say its one of my proudest. Specially because they said it smelled unique and rare. Its true. At first smelling it directly from the bottle you can confuse it with this honey, baby powder, boozy type of scent, the center notes are musky and fresh which I appreciate, but once its out of there the magic happens. My favorite part is the dry down! Its bitter and sweet, unique, you can definitely smell the sweetness of the star fruit, and the bitterness of the cardamom, together? It's a marriage made in heaven. Its so deep and mysterious like you can't tell what it smells like, but its GOOD! The price is very friendly and you can't go wrong with this fragrance nowhere, ever!

I have a feeling Guess by Marciano would layer perfectly with BBW Beach Nights. Even though there’s no marshmallow listed, my brain registers this cheapie as “salty, tropical marshmallow” every time I wear it. Not in the sense that it’s candied fluff a la Ariana Granda perfumes, it’s a bit more sexy than that. It makes me think of laying in the sand at night after swimming in the salty sea, sipping a cocktail with sugar on the rim, and toasting marshmallows. This fragrance is quite addicting, and smells more expensive than it is.

luna k

Warm spicy vanilla scent with a twist. Lasts all day but skin scent after about 6 hours.

Similar to Fancy by Jessica Simpson but with more depth and grown up. I have good luck blind buying Guess perfumes and this is no exception.

CatOwned

Wow for being so cheap this smells delightful. Definitely more of a cold weather fragrance. Smells sweet to me.

This reminds me of Juicy Couture Gold or Fancy by Jessica Simpson.

buttercupies

The fragrance starts really, really sweet, sugary type of sweet. When it lands on my skin I can smell powdery vanilla base, but as it sits on my skin the musks start to work - it ages to more soapy-sweet musky scent, great for the weather right now; really snowy, cold winter days. For me personally it's not a night scent, I would use something different for night but that's just my personal opinion. It's nothing really "wow!" but it's pleasant to have it in my collection.

Dreamdott

I got this as a gift when I was 12 from my mom… I know.. 12. But I LOVED it so much!! I have no idea what happened to my old bottle but I could have sworn it had fishnet on it. Some people say that this has been reformulated and perhaps so but to me this smells exactly as I remember it. I’m sure the original was probably stronger but I remember this scent for sure! It’s been 11 years since I’ve seen my last bottle but I’ve never forgotten the scent. Such a hidden gem! It’s sweet and fresh at the same time. Very nostalgic for me and in a way it also makes this a comforting fragrance for me. I just wanna an type up in bed and enjoy it!

Sarahaliii

Love it dir me its smells like musky clean vanilla with sweetness in the middle night scent for sure

dglightblue

This starts off kinda sweet, a bit dessert like, I get some burnt sugar type thing happening, probably citrus is in background, this to me is not a citrus scent.

I'm about an hour I and I got a kind of animalic feel, along with rounded kinda warmth, might be cardamom... this isn't spicy like a men's scent, just humming along in the background..

After about 20mins of spraying, I felt like it's nothing amazing... it almost leans into the pleasant cheapie zone...then comes out of it again..

Now I get a warm, sort of spiced, little but sweet, rounded, ... like Indian dessert but no heavy spices.. you know how they aren't lollies like some western desserts?

SweetJhane

I can’t believe how great this smells straight out of the box from the front porch delivery. I couldn’t wait for it to have a proper rest before I tried it. It’s even better than I hoped! It’s beautiful, warm, sexy, and clean. It’s different. Oddly enough it smells better when I don’t have my nose glued to my wrist. It’s light and powdery vanilla, but substantial at the same time. Quite delicious and yes, addictive. I can only imagine how wonderful it will be after a few weeks in the closet resting! It’s not at all like Fantasy on me and it’s much fresher and fruitier than Fancy.

Mycoleman2800

I'm really surprised at how I really, really like this. The powdery vanilla base just oozes all around you. This is not my kind of fragrance at all, well not one that I would normally go for. If you check my scent profile my signature fragrance is Prada de Mimosa. Which is tied with Versace Versense and Prada Infusion D'iris. I wear all fresh clean smelling fragrances on a regular basis. Most sweet gourmand fragrances give me headaches, unless my hormones allows me to get by wearing it. So I typically stay away from them. But after reading the reviews on this I became intrigued. I must admit that my curiosity got the best of me and I blind bought it. I'm so glad I did! Yes, it's deliciously powdery vanilla but not vanilla in the pure sense. There's something in there that gives this a cleanliness (maybe the musk). It's not cloying or headache inducing. It's enveloping coziness with a richness to it that I can't really explain. I think the vanilla and musk together gives it that cozy feeling. This is quickly becoming a favorite for me.

Vabeachtiff

Purchased months ago and decided to let sit. Just now visiting in August, I can't even begin to explain how beautiful I find this perfume to be. It doesn't smell like anything else I've encountered. There's a softness and freshness that stays with you all day, then the warmth of the vanilla rounds it out so perfectly. I believe this is really a year-round scent made to last. It's girly and femme but sexy as well. The Guess fragrance house just does it for me.

The13thHour

My favorite Guess perfume by far!

ChayChama

Just WOW! I have been looking for this parfum for so long and I never knew it exists. I received a pack with 8 other perfumes I have ordered online and this one stands out and just won my heart. This is beautifully formulated. Spicy, fruity, floral, sweet, aromatic and animalic. Meticulously balanced! I am rocking it this summer and I noticed that it performs with the heat better. The Jasmin is my favorite floral and I can sense it in the dry down mixed with Benzoin! (not listed). The only disappointing thing about this perfume is the liquor note that does not last so long. It literally evaporates within 2min from the opening.
Overall it feels like drinking a cocktail in an exotic heaven! This is MY FAVORITE SUMMER SENT NOW!

suzanne_ronald

Imagine a farmer's daughter who escapes for Labour-Day weekend to the island of Curacao. Enjoying a blue sour cocktail from the deck of a cruise ship, the faint & faraway. powdery dust from a combine's ceaseless labour reminds her of home, and the farm-boy who became an officer and a gentleman... This BOOZY, POWDERY VANILLA scent, signed by perfumer Barbara Zoebelein (Avon Little Black Dress, Lalique Soleil), opens with a fruity-floral burst of Curacao with citrus, boozy, sour, tropical, cardamom, powdery & aromatic nuances. That all deepens into a white-floral heart with powdery, sweet, near-violet, near-cherry & velvety facets, all resting on a musky vanilla-woods base. Overall I get a powdery vanilla scent distinguished by sour-citrus-aromatic touches in the opening and powdery-near-cherry/violet in the heart. Some reminders for me of Dream Angels Heavenly Victoria's Secret, Joop! Le Bain & Cabotine Rosalie Gres. Overall above average performance for a year-round wearing experience, although performance will be better in warmer weather, and I see myself wearing this in fall. This the perfect scent for netflix and chill with an old movie queue of: An Officer and a Gentleman, Cocktail & Top Gun. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Skinscents4Fusspots

I've finally worked out what I like about this one - it's got a Britney Spears Fantasy vibe in the drydown. That sweet perfumed plastic doll scent in Fantasy - that makes it a bit cheap smelling - turns up here but it's due to the cardamom and vanilla (cardamom always smells a bit plasticky to me!) so it's richer and more grown-up. The boozy sharpness doesn't last too long before that base takes over. I only clicked when I got Replay Essential as that smells like an easier to wear Fantasy!

The sharpness hangs around longer in cold weather and it's a bit screechy so this is a summer evening sort of scent to me!

Iloveperfume51

I usually love guess perfumes and this didn’t disappoint me. She starts out sharp and boozy the florals start developing after a while with the vanilla at the very end. To me this smells like grabbing drinks with your girlfriends, I think of summer night when using this.

Joyfulsmells2

All I smell is baby powder and a chemical smell. I don't like it at all. I was really looking forward to wearing it based on YouTube reviews. I can't see myself wearing this at all. I brought this from Burlington $21.99 for 3.4 oz.

taratnm0807

Just tried this out and I really like it! It's a very smooth, tropical vanilla that I think could go year round. This would be great to play around with layering because I think you could really enhance either the tropical aspects or the warm vanilla base depending on your body care products

straightedgepeace

I had the chance to smell this perfume & and spray it on my skin .
To me its very boozy smelling . Like a warm blanket of incense & vanilla being wrapped around you in the late fall and early winter months .
Its very we’ll parallel to M by Mariah Carey, but a more subtle, lighter version.
The dry down on me is again somewhat reminiscent of Boucheron, without the powdery old lady smell.

If you like musky ( non old lady ) smells, vanilla or those deep ‘ hippie ‘ like smells , this one is for you.

Joxa

Blind bought this for my mom.

With initial spray opening it's kinda bitter/harsh and almost unpleasant with my mom not really enjoying it and me kinda regretting getting it for her.

But once it dries down some then it really starts to shine smelling like everythings really coming together being well blended and smooth giving off a warm, sweet, powdery scent with the sweetness of the white florals and vanilla working so nicely in unison.

Quality for price at 25$cad for 100ml smelling like it could be worth double the price imo.

Definitely won't regret picking this as a safe blind buy not being overpoweringly sweet but really smooth and comforting/alluring.

twiztidladii

A very nice date night perfume that isn’t bold or overwhelming to the people around you. It’s definitely a sexy nighttime frag.

candyxoxo589

This perfume is such a dream. This for sure is one of my favourite Guess perfumes! It's just super summery, at least I think. I smell the citrus, and it just has a nostalgic scent to him, which is something that I really go for in a perfume.

I think the lasting power is moderate, maybe 6 hours max.

laurens_perfume_closet

Best Guess perfume imo. On me it is a sultry warm vanilla. Its absolutely heavenly and a man-killer. It works very well for a date night because it's very sensual but it won't be cloying. I like to add a dash of Shalimar over it and, ugh, so good.

Newbiebutlovescents

I received it as a gift and I tried to love it but couldn't in the beginning. It is not the typical refreshing floral fruity scent to my nose. It is not a common scent. IDK WHAT HAPPENED but halfway down the bottle, (I was trying to use it as it was a gift so I wanted to value it) I fell in love with it. I keep reaching on to it. I think it is linked to the fact that I changed my location and thus the weather-so I BELIEVE it works very good in fall/winter and not in sweaty warm weather.... now I'm almost done with it and I'm thinking of getting a new one😲

Peaches&Cream

To my nose ..on first spray this smells like root beer. I didn’t like it at first but as it dries down the “root beer” scent goes away. It’s different from other fragrances which I’ll give it that but I wouldn’t wear this alone I’d have to layer it.

SarabeineHoney

I loveeee this one!! Versatile and classy. Also nostalgic ❤️

pipergirl

This was an instant love and has become an easy reach for me in this early fall weather when it can start off chilly in the morning and be downright hot by lunchtime. It's an easy going, soft, somewhat powdery vanilla that also has a freshness about it. I find that it holds up nicely on warmer days. This will be a versatile, wear anywhere, year round scent. I'm glad that I finally got around to picking this one up.

DulyNoted

This layers beautifully with Shalimar! It warms up the Shalimar and makes it more playful, and the Shalimar elevates it. They blend *just right*

twiztidladii

Reminds me very much of a popular indoor tanning lotion from around 2010. Definitely a sexy summer scent. I wish I bought my bottle earlier in the summer but now I can wear it all next summer too.

Gemsense

Smells wonderful for like 2 minutes then there's nothing. It's so absolutely light. I thought it would perform better in heat but it doesn't. I smell next to nothing. I'll try again in fall. If this was made properly this would be a fave of mine but if it doesn't perform in any weather I'll never buy it again.

asg6

something about this classic is irresistible to me...I HATED it when i first purchased it. And I've tried a bunch of high-end/niche perfumes since. But somehow the syrupy sweetness of this has become addictive for me as a summer scent. It smells like boozy dryer sheets (>.<) but in the best way possible.

Stoicchild

I overused this! This was SO INTOXICATING back in the days! I used to wear it daily. I bought it 3 times! Main notes in this has changed. Perfumers NEED TO STOP changing fragrance notes! Our sentiments are attached to our favorite perfumes due to old memories, you have to stop playing with our emotions! If you fail to get it right just STOP making it. It's better than getting it wrong! This was such a seductive, sexy, alluring scent back in 2012. I didn't even bother changing to another perfume. That's how GOOD this was. Now there's too much Cardamom notes, before the notes were perfect. It used to smell like an expensive glass of Cognac, it was very boozy and incensey, in an Animalic kind of way. I used to get Indian Sandalwood too! It used to smell like Chocolatey-Sandalwood. It had the power to get you sexually aroused!

yeesa_

I wanted to love this given all the reviews from youtubers but it smells like grandma to me. Was not a fan

xenab

I bought this mainly because my favorite YouTuber always raves about it but honestly, it’s gross. My husband says it smells like nana’s adult baby powder. 😭😭😭😭😭
Lesson learned— I always forget the popular YouTubers are usually sponsored. Either way, not a safe blind buy because we all have very different noses.

FCrisp

From the notes, it should have been great. It is not. Very unpleasant baby wipe smell to me. Perhaps it's body chemistry but I would not suggest if you're a fruity floral or gourmand fan.

LadyPilot

It's a beautiful and very delicate, distant reminder of Isabella Rossellini (the red one) - not as intense or fruity as Isabella but definitely with similar DNA. I have the new version (without the fishnet pattern) and I love it. I remember smelling the older version and being overwhelmed and completely put off. The new one may be slightly watered-down but also not as sweet and more balanced than the "fishnet" version - I find it awesome, especially for bedtime!😍

Gemsense

WOW! Stunningly gorgeous! Too light in this cold weather but the initial notes are warm, sultry, and tropical! I can't wait to try this in the heat! I hope it performs... I don't smell anything like what I smell in Beyonce's pulse perfumes and I'm thankful for that cuz I am sickened by those fragrances. This is one of a kind. I'll put this away until the weather heats up some. It would be a waste to wear this now as it is too light to enjoy right now. I believe the heat will open this up, at least I hope it will!

pat.snickerdoodles

I really shocked when I tried this perfume today. I think they changed their version of ingredients. Less powerful.

Back 2010, I had this perfume when I was living in Singapore. I bought from BHG Bugis Junctions. The original version was very long lasts and you even can smell the strongest of sweet vanillary, chocolate and musky scent after shower. The bottle also was very nice and artistic (see the photo of this perfume on profile). Not like today.

Today, the smell more to manly / unisex scents. Very less powerful and weak. Just lasts about less than 2 hours on my clothes. The bottle looks so cheap.

I won’t buy this again. Not recommended. So dissapointing.

ivonne.flores

I had this fragance and i loved it, it's a sweet but it's not cloying fragance it's the opposite because when you smell it you feel happy and like living and smiling, besides, when I put on that perfume I received many compliments, so
It is a perfume that the person who wears it will receive many compliments. It's a perfume with a great durability on the skin, also its prize is very good, anyway i recommend it 100% if u like sweet fragances of course

Kuty22

Very meh for me.
Third bottle I believe, but now I like it less.
Safe fragance, quiet, sweet, nothing to write home about! The drydown is soapy
Can't believe I used to love it

cz963214

This is warm, slightly boozy, with a hint of wood and vanilla. Quite a sensual smell, gives away a “glam” vibe. Works all year round, perhaps best for summer nights. It doesn’t last very well on my skin though (4, max 5 hours) which is inconvenient. The bottle is quite voluminous and heavy to carry around. But it’s fair quality for the price range. The best of Guess imho, together with Guess Gold.

Healthy scents

This Fragrance is an easy grab for me when I am looking for a pleasant and an inoffensive scent all year round.
Gorgeous: 10/10

adamh9201

A very pleasant citrusy, slightly boozy vanilla sweet scent. This does smell fairly unique. I don’t know why some people say this is overwhelming, if sprayed in moderation it is very pleasant and nice. This could be pulled off by a man or woman

adew

A total headache banger for me, I swear it has amber in it, and anything with amber will give me a headache instantly and I promise I smell it, it is in this perfume even though it's not listed in the composition. However, there is SOMETHING about it I keep going back to and spraying once in a while. I think it's the transitional phase of the top notes developing to the middle notes, the lime-like top note sour quality with the vanilla lingering behind is really nice, it goes semi tropical smelling, almost like a corona beer wedged with a lime. but once it dries down it, unfortunately to me is a mess /confused concoction of a somewhat synthetic vanilla, and someth..well, I dunno. I'm just not into it. I'll try it in a few years, but I doubt my mind will change lol.

Update: As I said, there is “something” in this that keeps me spraying when I get the mood to do so..I think maybe a mist application and walking through versus directly spraying on gives it more personality.

I can deal maybe once a while, but wont be repurchasing.

moonsunstars

Not quite sure how I feel about this fragrance. It’s not bad at all - quite a nice scent for the price point. However, the dry down reminds me a lot of Lalique le Parfum, which I already own. Since I consider Le Parfum to be a scent best suited for cooler weather, this would definitely be a good option for warm weather.

Lolligagarella

I spotted this sealed on the top shelf of a closet when I was getting ready for work today. I hadn't worn it in 10 years; today was the day to bring it out again. I used to love this perfume as a 'summer vanilla'. All these years later, and today I realize that its really nothing special. Very balsamic, sweet, and rich yet synthetically clean fruity vanilla that doesn't project well or last long.

Flipkadip

Really don't like it. I blind bought it because I found a whole bottle for pretty cheap online, which was a mistake. To me, it just smells like a mix of every vanilla scent you could buy at a Victoria's secret. Also, it is just sickly and makes me feel very unfresh. I guess I'll just keep it in my cabinet and see how I feel about it in years to come.

SallyGirl

Sexy af! I have the current formulation and a older one with the lacy design on the bottle. The are very similar except the older one is a tad more deep and sticks around two hours longer. This scent deserves more attention then it gets! Classic black heels, a red lip and skinny jeans, add Marciano, get ready for a great evening.
Will repurchase for eternity

Erato

When you spray it at first you think that's it's too strong but then it dries down to a perfect, sweet scent! I love it! It's very affordable and perfect for cold weather.

soapycast

wasnt a fan of the opening at first, but the dry down changed my mind completely. it's a boozy, sweet citrus with wood and something i can't describe. i feel like this could be an amazing everyday scent for someone who likes gourmand, but doesn't want to wear something too heavy during the day. love this

Tomadeupjazz

The opening is definitely a bright burst of citrus tangy tart grapefruit and liquor. I’m guessing the curaçao. Funny how I’ve never had that alcohol in my life but I can definitely detect that boozyness in the opening of this fragrance. I wore it for a few hours at first trying to decide if i even liked it. I kept sniffing myself and WOW did it smell good when it dried all the way down. Super vanilla warm sweet scent, with a freshness that wafts in and out to keep the projection on POINT. I love pairing this with more gourmand scents in my body care collection to keep them from being too too sweet and it’s a match made in heaven. Loving this one

*UPDATE*
Started wearing this again and it’s addictive. Literally soo good and I keep putting people on to this scent because wherever I wear it I get compliments and asked what am I wearing it smells so good. It’s currently October and it works soo well in this cool/warm fall weather. Starts off bright, a lil citrus, a lil tangy. But then you’re hit with the woody vanilla as the freshness comes up every now and again. I cannot explain this scent perfectly but it’s so underrated. So good. I’m in love all over again

Edit:
Always coming back to update lol. MEN LOVE THIS SCENT. I was easily pointed out with this fragrance. I was in the dorms pulling a guard shift and I had walked around a part of the building doing my checks (I had sprayed the perfume hours ago, at least 4-5) and when I was finished I sat back at my desk. A guy I work with came through with his friend about 5 mins, if that, after I had sat down and said that part of the building smelled so good. I told him I had just completed my walk through checks and he said he knew that was what he was smelling because he knew I was on shift and I always smell good. I sprayed more of the scent a couple hours later after sitting and chatting with them and they loved the smell, even with my 12 sprays they didn’t find it harsh, suffocating or too strong. They loved it. Needless to say, this is a forever fragrance in my collection

Nikol2

I had this perfume in a wish list for couple of years and finally got it. On my skin this is very similar to 212 sexy by CH. It is kind of spicy sweetie :)

GabbyVersusThe

In the right conditions (hot and humid or on skin still warm from the shower) Guess by Marciano performs admirably! In the wrong conditions, I don't find that it performs well at all and I'm not a fan.

Strangely, something in this scent takes me to another place - to cool and rainy days in London. I think it might be the honeysuckle?

Siani320

This one has a bit of an unpleasant punch upon first spray but the gem here is the dry down. It's a lovely syrupy gourmand in the dry down imo and has decent projection. Good value for money too.

trothmaven

My first review. Okay, I have amassed a drawer full of fragrances looking for one I would wear every day. My boyfriend
never fails to say I smell good when I wear two fragrances out of the collection. He never responds to the other fragrances. I like them but they are a bit much for every day wear. (Paloma Picasso and Dark Kiss) Today I received the
Guess by Marciano I ordered. I have found my fragrance. It must be a genetic response. I like honeysuckle and jasmine so maybe that is what I am responding to. Yeah, I would probably drink grapefruit juice with honeysuckle and jasmine in it.

Heathrfeathr

Quite possibly one of my favorite transition to fall scents. For those days when it starts to cool off but still can get warmer this fragrance is perfect. I really enjoy wearing it. I have to be careful not to overspray because I love it so much. It’s vanilla with a hint of sweet and spicy without overdoing either one. And maybe im
Smelling a hint of orange. Perfect for any occasion and it’s a cheapie so what’s not to love.

876Beauty

This smells much different than I expected it to...It is not gourmand at all. The opening is a very powdery weird burnt rubbery smell..I was disappointed until 15 minutes later it starts to transcend to a sweet white floral with the Jasmine being prominent!! On the dry down I get hints of the fruits, a creamy (almost milky) note which I assume is from the Cardamon, musk, some woods and a hint of vanilla....I like this a lot but only after waiting until the opening disappears.

meemee00

I hated it, I bought it hoping for a tropical, beachy summer scent like MONOI YVES ROCHER EAU DES VAHINES EDT . the opposite. Not too sweet, or any real fragrance, just sickly unfreshness. I gave it away. Luckily it wasn't expensive.

Burgundy Jayde

9🌸Hi perfume loves! I received this in the mail today thinking I would get the bottle with fishnet, as advertised on EBay but my bottle does not have it. It is reformulated and apparently NOT the same. It was 18.00 for the 3.4 ounce. But, I did complain to the seller they need to change the photo to the clear bottle. .. but I gave it a chance. Glad I did. It's soothing. First spritz is 🍊fruity, very pungent ripe and juicy! I LOVE fruit I could live off of it so the opening is perfect. After a few minutes the fruit dissipates but it's still there along with yummy powdery VANILLA🍦🍪. On me it smells like Jessica Simpson's Fancy. It's very sexy and seductive. I love the bottle. 💛Golden bottle for golden juice. I am certain men will loooooove this one. Guys seem to really go for the 🍭sweet scents on me. I love them too. Guess is such an AWESOME house. I used to look at my older sister's Cosmopolitan magazines and remember seeing all of the 👠voluptuous, curvy models. So beautiful and feminine. Guess clothes line is also INCREDIBLE. I used to have the most awesome Guess jean jacket back in the late 80's. I was young but Always loved fashion. My sister was a model. She looks EXACTLY like GIA! The most gorgeous model may she rip 🌹 . .Anyway, Always loved the triangle design on the clothes. I just love perfume. I can't wait for the next bottle. Not sure what to get but it's fun researching here on Fragantica. I love reading reviews. I am fortunate right now I did not lose my job. I work from home for a mail order pharmacy. Just got a raise. Stimulus on its way. But i feel guilty so I am donating my check to charity. I am so blessed. I hope everyone is well be SAFE. Love and light, Burgundy Jayde

Aland2020

If you get a newer bottle of this without the fishnet print, and you find it disappointing in smell: Just let it age for about a year. Trust me, the vanilla will get richer and deeper, and smell somewhat reminiscent of what it used to. It has an opening of fresh zesty curacao, some hint of a aquatic tropical fruits. Like a transparent mango or pineapple. Then the peppery woods stage enters. This woodsiness breaks up the opening stage and is the perfect segue into its final stage. The creamy rich vanilla smell starts to cut through the woods and becomes increasingly sweeter as it wears on. At times it almost becomes bubblegum like, but the transparent woods that lingered keep it from entering the sickeningly gourmand territory.

The longevity is very good, about 6-7 hours. Sillage has gotten more potent with time. I'm interested to see if my opinion of this changes as it ages even more. But one thing I know is that when I first bought this about a year ago I was extremely disappointed because it smelled nothing like the sample I had. I took a chance to see if the vanilla in it would age and become better, and to my surprise it did. I'm hoping it will continue to get marinate and get more lovely, but I'm happy enough with where it's at now to pull it out and use it this Summer.

Hanin2412

I blind bought this after seeing the reviews and decided to give it a try because of the low price. I am pleasantly surprised. The opening was strong and can become quite potent; it was as if you have sprayed too much of the perfume. However, after you get over the initial sharp burst of alcohol, you'll get a fun and fresh blend of liquor, citruses and spices on top of vanilla undertone. To me, it paints a vivid feel of a young woman in a bar on a cool summer night at an exotic tropical island having the party of her life.

Around 15–20 minutes after that, the vanilla tone gets stronger and nudges the sharp citruses to the side; opening the way for the gentle floral blend and woody notes. The florals sort of blend together, the honeysuckle note being the most prominent out of all three floral notes followed by jasmine. It smells like a really smooth, slightly intoxicating blend of sweet vanilla, florals and spices with Curacao note remaining, yet settling down into a boozy orange syrup kind of notes rather than the powerful alcoholic notes like before. The heart smells refined, which is a quite pleasant surprise. After the bold, party girl-like opening, the heart feels softer and more intimate but still has the youthful and flirty aura from the opening.

The dry-down isn't really different from the heart, it's just like the heart notes minus the spices and curacao liquor notes. It smells like your standard feminine woody musk perfume dry-down, with the addition of vanilla in it. This doesn't strike me as strictly a summer or colder months perfume, as I've worn this in both tropical places and cold European winter and I feel like it suits both. Although, I have to say that a particularly cold summer night seems just perfect for this perfume's vibes.

The longevity is decent, I'd say around 6–7 hours depending on your activity and weather. There are some occasions when I spray it at night and the remains are still there when I woke up, which is always a pleasant thing. The sillage is great in the opening, it's something that people around you can smell when you spray it. Although, the sillage gradually reduces so that by the time you're one or two hours in, it is already a skin scent. I'd wish for better performance, but for its price point, it is already decent and I'll definitely recommend this to everyone who likes a feminine, citrusy floriental perfume. Seeing as this can depend heavily on body chemistry though, maybe not as a blind buy.

At work today, I met a customer who was wearing this. On her, it somehow smelled EXACTLY like D&G Pour Femme (which is my absolute favourite, mind you). So I got excited and asked her if she was wearing it. She shook her head and told me it was Guess by Marciano lol

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed but what confused me more was how curacao, vanilla, and cardamom could smell like marshmallows.

ladyjm89

Very very soft. Not noticeable without overspraying and then putting your nose directly to the place where you sprayed it. Probably the weakest performance out of all my fragrances. I’m disappointed, based on reviews here I had expected more. It’s a very pretty smell but no one is going to know you’re wearing it. Perhaps this is due to reformulation, I’m not sure. It’s a safe buy. As I said, no one will ever notice your fragrance with this one. I’ve had EDTs last longer and project much better.

Scent 6/10
Sillage 3/10
Longevity 5/10

P.S. Downvote all you like! I’ll simply repost. People deserve honest reviews.

mevans

So warm and sensual. It could work for day or evening wear. My bottle has no netting so I can't speak to any reformulation but mine is a beautiful fragrance. I don't get so much spice in it. It's more sweet and creamy vanilla, a bit floral and very alluring. For the price, which I usually see at $20, it's a great deal.

FayeLB

I bought this perfume on clearance. Warm, sweet and soft spicy. Perfect for cool spring/summer days and evenings. Would be especially well suited for fall/winter.

fkt.julia

My favorite fragrance from Guess.
At first I wasn't sure what was the note that was so noticeable in it, but after looking it up here I now know it is the curacao (it isn't a usual note, and I'm not a big cocktail drinker, so it just didn't come naturally to me).
So it is a somewhat unique scent, probably more suitable for temperatures below 20 celsius, but I think it's passable in a bit warmer temps as well (wouldn't recomment it in scorching hot +35 celsius though). More of a night scent, but also wearable during the day.
Soft to moderate sillage, starts to sit closer to the skin as time progresses, but the longevity is good. I could still detect it after a whole workday (so 8+ hours). Obviously not as strong as at first spritz, but it was still there.
I think the general image of the women appearing in Guess clothing campaigns - especially their Marciano line - is what I associate with this fragrance. Sexy, casually elegant and confident.

Fragaria

This review is for the bottle with the netting print.
I'm afraid to try the newer bottle for fear of change.

I love this perfume SO much, I could be in a room of people wearing every single top named perfume brand/niche and still...feel like not a single person smells better than me.
I love this perfume SO much, I wear this with pride!
This perfume is addicting but I refrain from too much wear so that it's always exactly this special to me. I crossed the line on a vacation once. It was two years before I wanted to wear this again. But it's back to it's breathtaking self again.
This is as feminine, girly, pretty, and sexy as can be. It's never an overstatement. It's never obnoxious, always respectable. You e x p e c t to see a beautiful super model when you sniff out the source of this...heavenly aroma.
The only thing I do NOT like about this is the simple fact that I have to admit it's a beautiful vanilla. ugh...so few vanilla perfumes are my favorite. This certainly is...yep.

gtabasso

This modern version goes through three phases: a bitter oakmoss on application like a vintage chypre then sweet white florals (maybe honeysuckle but I get more of a gardenia or magnolia) then a warm vanilla. That's it. A bit disappointed based on the note breakdown.

KamileV

This was my signature scent back in high school almost 10 years ago. I have recently bought myself a new bottle and man... so many memories come back to me right now. I still love the scent, despite that it reminds me of school so much or maybe I love it because it reminds me of school as I am getting older and sentimental :)
All in all I recommend it if you like sweet scents. Lasting power is great as well.

Sherine777

I really love the opening with the boozy Orange, Cardamom and Vanilla. Delicious!
But sadly this is as far as it goes for me, it lasts no more than 30 minutes, similar to other Guess I have, miserable lasting power, but I'm not too upset given the price.

So this is very nice delicious warm kinda exotic one, cheap price but not cheap smelling at all, if you have more luck with the lasting power.

northstar

Yep, curacao, pistachio and vanilla. For me it is a great deal for a 100ml body spray type perfume in a nice enough bottle. It might become a permanent must have.

For the notes I am not getting enough woods and will likely layer it with a spicy wood fragrance in cool weather. I could see this fragrance being good year round and I'd like to layer it with coconut in the summer, like kuumba made black coconut or Gale Hayman Delicious Cool Caribbean Coconut, which I got at walmart and for some reason doesn't have a review page.

One of the reasons I purchased it is because there is a discussion about it being reminiscent of butter or buttered popcorn. I don't think it quite gets me there, but it is decent.

Edit: growing on me more and I'm getting more of the Jasmine. Longevity is pretty good.

annette18@

Smells very cheap wasn't a love for me

Selena

My next purchase for sure!
I sampled it today, smells boozy, vanilla, sweet, warm.
Just what I love in a perfume, didn't expect much from this, I had guess seductive & got rid of it, the performance was shocking.
However Marciano was a SURPRISE, I sampled it 6 hours ago, and oh my god I keep catching whiffs, it's friggin AMAZING!
I can see this scent being worn in a bar, smell of alcohol in the air, but there's a slight breeze inside.
She has wavy hair up to her waist, she's dressed simple, tight blue jeans, black singlet, and she's rockin a sleeve tattoo ;)

Update: call me crazy, hasn't even been an hour since I posted my review, I've just purchased this beauty lol.
I think I have a Frag-diction haha.

Pooky

I love this one more than I ever thought I would. Somebody said it's like a Tootsie roll and that is correct- boozy chocolate chew candy with lots of vanilla. It lasts all day.

SmellieKat

One of my favorite wear-to-bed perfumes. Teeters on the edge of gourmand with vanilla throughout, but has a creaminess that carries the boozy, floral notes as well. Staying power is good - it smells sensuous and slightly powdery.

Great daytime perfume too, appropriate for the office or any occasion.

MBB1111

This is lovely. I stopped a sales clerk at a clothing store one day because she smelled so nice, and she said it was this perfume. I did not pursue at the time since I thought the notes would not work on me (blue curacao?). Then it was offered in a swap (thanks objections!), and it was like Guess was trying to find a way on to my shelf, and I am glad it did.

It is soft, sweet in a non-foodie way. It suits day or night and probably 3 season although I have not tried it in the summer. My daughter, who is annoyed by my perfumes since she's my guinea pig for each, actually told me I smelled great when I sat next to her.

The pyramid cites vanilla as most prominent, but I do not see this as a vanilla scent. Everything else is balanced and a few ingredients offer their own nuance of sweetness that works very well together.

Reviews here say it's for an ultra-confident, take-no-prisoners woman while others call it cozy. All are accurate, showing how versatile it can be. I wear it running errands but also find it date-special occasion suitable as well.

Sillage: arms length or less w/2 sprays to chest and neck
Longevity: 8+ hours with traces still there in the morning

Perfumechick45

The cardamom, citrus and vanilla in the Guess fragrance is BOMB.com

My mother even asked, what are you wearing that is lovely? Can I have it? NO, Sorry Mommy!
So I bought her a bottle.

Diane05

I did a blind buy based on the reviews but it smells exactly like a cheap self bronzer.

charlie.aeroplane

This reminds me of when you have a toothache from eating too many candys and then you think that a lemonade would work(not a good idea). It is not bad but its contradictory like two zodiac signs that look interesting togetehr but we all know that in the end they are not gonna make it. this is the upseting part, but actually for the price its operating qualities are good and it haves its own charm ressembling accents of cream soda to my nose.

Tigi

Oh, she IS beautiful. Warm, sweet, like a waxy red lipstick she's smooth and sublime. I layered this over Britney Spears' Hidden Fantasy and the two meld together beautifully.
The curacao here is boozy, sweet, and refreshing. I don't get any citrus other than the juicy orange and I'd swear (again) that I smell a beautiful creamy coconut as well. This fragrance is gorgeous!!! An immediate love, she earns a 10 of 10 for fragrance alone. Sillage, can start out anywhere from moderate to huge; dies down over time to eventually become a skin scent; very nice. Longevity, several hours or more.
Value = superb.
Reminds me of another beloved similar fragrance, Ellen Tracy Bronze.

marycharlemaine

I was about to sell this new one since I
have tons of other perfumes to try. Then, when I read the reviews here, I spritzed once on my wrist and it was heavenly so orangy oriental. This would definitely be in my collections. Unfortunately, it only last for 4 hours on my skin. Same with Guess Double Dare. Need to re apply in the middle. No biggies! Definitely great for work.

reborn

By princip i dont like fragrances by fashion brands like Tom Tailor,Guess, and etc, because they are average and most of them low quality,BUT i decided to give this a try.Well....let me tell you..it is not Armani,or Dior or Niche frag, but this is one of the most interesting fragrances i have ever had!It is unique.I am so in love that i dont have enough words. It is at the same time sweet, but also sour,it is heavy but also fresh ,it has two opposite characters in it wich live in a perfect harmony.I smell caramel in it and fresh notes also like i am night time at the beach with a coctail in my hand.I am so in love with it and also with its staying power ,which is enormous with enormous sillage, nothing compared to the latest Gueass perfumes ,which are so watery and so non interesting. This is sexy, strong and sophisticated kind of sweet perfume.i love it forever!

WhiteVelvet

I just got this one. It is a really classy orange vanilla
scent. The curacao is a nice touch. Has a slight spice and powdery scent as well. Depending on where you purchase this item. It is pretty reasonably priced. Also, this perfumes
debut was a while ago.I see a lot of people still love it.
I am glad I purchased this.

Very Nice!

Missy0104

I Have been searching for a true powdery vanilla scent that has not been drowned out by all those sweet shop lollipop scents getting around the market today. Now this perfum is the closest true vanilla scent I have found since vanilla fields by Coty and a far better cent asfor layering on heavy orientals. This is truly a lovely perfum within a heady vanilla vibe lasts for hours and I'm so glad the intinal citrus burst at the opening of the fragrance only lasts for 15 minutes then settles into a lovely powdery vanilla fragrance close to niche fragrances and without the price tag if you are after a true vanilla not having to smell like you fell into Charlie's chocolate factory look no further you have found a sure winner in this beauty with a reasonably price. Safe buy for someone searching for a true heady powdery vanilla that's goes the distance smells like you fell into a fresh bunch of vanilla orchids

diamond74

Smells like orange booziness, vanilla and powder. Not a bad scent at all but it wasnt strong enough for me. Even pressing nose to wrist, could barely smell anything at all .

Update: I began wearing this with a vanilla based lotion, spraying with a heavier hand. It has helped so much with longevity and me being able to smell it on myself. Guess Marciano is a unique fragrance, in my opinion, because of the blue Curacao note. The only other perfume that I can think of that has it, is Pulse by Beyonce. I've been enjoying this fragrance alot, and I love it ♡

TheLadyCalamity

When I sprayed this on my wrist, this perfume gave me a very distinct mental picture. In the image I'm in my mid to late thirties, sitting at a bar with a mixed drink in my hand, wearing leopard print and leather and subtly scoping the scene, sporting a sultry smokey eye. Boozy, a tiny bit of floral, with a powdery muskiness. Sexy, mature woman who knows what she wants was the vibe it gave me.

I feel like if I tried this again in 10 or 15 years, I might be able to pull it off. At this stage in my life though, I'm looking for something a bit less on-the-prowl. I feel like the person who could rock this perfume would invoke an air of mystery and allure. Right now I'm just stumbling around trying to make sure my crawling daughter doesn't stick something in her mouth that is going to require a hospital visit.

I do rather like the boozy note though. I'll have to look for that in another fragrance for my once-in-a-blue-moon nights out.

kismetdaisy

kinda smells like powdery boozy play doh and lipstick..or a cheap brand powder compact makeup..bees wax maybe? some sort of strange powdery makeup scent. boozy as in an old and nearly empty keg of beer sitting around for days after a party.. flat and nasty. or like, home made fruit flavored wine gone bad. rotten star fruit, dead white florals, vanilla bug spray infusion. lol, don't ask. I can't even explain this one. I definitely can't decipher any notes. I wanted this for sooo long, and finally got it in a swap not long ago. I had such high hopes. I thought it would be a new one... it sounded like just my type of perfume. but alas, I REALLY dislike this. I think I actually found it to be okay for a hot minute..wore it a few times... and wore the lotion here and there. but with the lotion, I'd catch whiffs of it and it truly smelled like play doh. and i'll tell ya, it really ticked me off that this wasn't what I had dreamt it was. even the bottle wasn't pretty as pictured here. the picture looks like it has like fish netted print, pretty gold color, etc. in person, it's just this nondescript brown color with tacky looking tribal designs... whattt

I bet I could describe the scent in more detail.. esp cause I never really sat there and tried to smell what was going on. but I'm mad at this stuff and I'm not wasting any more time on it. putting it in the past (my swap list,) and moving on...

I just can't lol. I'm done.
I tried it again last night. And nope. Still can't tell ya what I smelled exactly. I ran to wash it off.

Nuitdenoel

Got a 3.4 oz bottle of Guess byMarciano for $18 at the local discount store. I definitely like this. On me, I will be honest...I actually cannot smell the individual notes. It is warm, sweet, lightly powdery, definitely boozy. For me, the projection is light to moderate but the longevity is good (about 6 hours in 100+ degree heat).

Lizzard

This sounds wonderful. So I bought it. The description was right up my alley. The problem is that it 'sounds' perfect. Unfortunately it 'smells' like nothing!!! I get zero zip bupkis!!

perfumeglam87

All time favorite. Oriental boozy tootsie roll vanilla. Year round goodness. Yummy.

UnearthlyApothecary

This reminds me of something else I own but I can't for the life of me figure it out. It's very nice citrus/spicy vanilla. the boozy vibe is definitly there. Very well blended and smooth it's a nice summer scent that isn't too sweet. Just enough. I really like this. After awhile the musk becomes more prominent and this smells like a slightly spicy cousin of Gaultier 2. The silage isn't massive but it's not too bad either. UPDATE: could still smell it on my skin after I showered so it passes my longevity test with flying colors!

aqua76239

I think I actually owned a bottle and ended up giving it away. I decided to revisit this since it was 14.99 in TJ Maxx. Its not sweet enough for me. I mean, there is only "hint" of sweetness, its has more spicier oriental feel. Its not sharp, very smooth and subtle scent. Guess is not exactly a company that makes you think "elegant" but that's what this fragrance is.

I have to give it few days and see how I feel about it. Right now, I am not in love due to low sweetness factor
UPDATE:

I finally smelled the sweet notes and thought it was great-spicier, mildly sweet, floral oriental, which was almost incensy. I really started liking it but then I realized that no one could smell it. It immediately turns into skin scent.
Total bummer and I ended up returning it

Iloveperfume51

Honestly I have become so picky with perfumes. I need them to be balanced, sweet but not too sweet, gourmand but not too gourmand, etc. I need longevity. I want to be able to wear it anytime! This $30 perfume fits that bill for me ladies and gentlemen I'm so happy I bought this. It was a blind buy and very often blind buys don't turn out well for me. I don't know if I have a signature scent because it's so hard to just pick one but I'm telling you all this is signature scent material. Someone said "vanilla on a vacation" and that's what I get here, citrusy vanilla that is also deep and smells put together if that makes sense i could see myself being able to wear this anytime and that's what I needed. I also have an old bottle of guess gold wichich was a favourite for many years and this is kind of like it's cousin :)

Sorryifiloveyou

Opened with citrus... Go to fresh and last a little bit Vanila and Musk..

Not similar with 212 Sexy, 212 warm and smooth, Marciano Fresh, sweet, rich and Cheerful...

Enjoy with smell and for daily activities.... But it's strong, be careful...

sophiesnose

It has all the right notes. It should work on me. I should love it. But there is something synthetic and a little off about it. My coworker ran for her inhaler and hid from me. So this one is definitely NSFW. It reminds me of Beyoncé Pulse. But I like Pulse better. It's nice. I don't hate it, but I thought I'd love it. Luckily it's inexpensive. I'll wear it around the house and to freshen up the bedding.

austeja.pajarskaite

ENORMOUS SILLAGE AND LONGEVITY, FILLS THE ROOM :) I LOVE THIS PERFUME, SMELL IS SOO SWEET AND RICH :))

Soofiya

I bought this because SA claimed that it's a sweet vanilla scent and a 3.4 oz bottle was only 20 bucks
First time I tried it,I was really disappointed,I had not checked it's notes that time, but I could say there is definitely cardamom and a citrus note in it.it wasn't warm and sweet.on me it was an almost fresh spicy citrus in a faint musky vanilla base
But I didn't give up and decided to wear it for a week.it grew on me amazingly.I don't know what was wrong with my nose in the first place that couldn't pick up this much sweetness!
It still opens with cardamom-citrus.but there's also tones of sugary vanilla with some boozy, citrusy, spicy undertone in the opening and a powdery, woody, musky touch in drydown to make it interesting
I really like it's boozy, spicy, sugary opening but I like it even more as honeysuckle kicks in.oh I adore honey suckle and it's very faint here but little better than nothing.drydown is dry yet heavenly with a hint of musk and tones of powder
I love sweet scents and there's almost nothing sweet enough for me,well this is!it's very sweet and this is a plus for me.I can't blaim vanilla for all the sweetness,I'm sure there is an unlisted sugar note.I'm very happy I gave it some time.when I'm craving for something sweet(and almost always during cold months I'm craving for sweeties)this can calm down my sweet tooth and it's not a bland sweetness, it has some sort of sexyness and some depth
Longevity is very good and beyond my expectations.+6 hours and sillage is huge in first hour but then it becomes moderate
Although marciano is a sweet delicious fragrance I can see nothing childish in it though it can be nice on a cool, sexy young girl, and although it's very sweet,it's not really cloying or syrupy.it's a cold weather perfume and might be very annoying and headache inducing in heat, not sure though
I like the bottle
❤❤❤❤
Edit:
it has nothing to do with Katy Perry Mad Potion(a very faint, blant vanilla body spray-like perfume) or Arden 5th avenue Night( a soapy, creamy musk-vanilla combo) IMHO
It's more like a love child of Ungaro Love for her and Biyance NYC
2nd Edit:
Two of my friends believe that It's also wearable by men,I'm not sure though
3nd Edit:
It seems there are two groups of people:a group hating Marciano finding it a cheap, wick body spray and a second group seeing it a gem considering it's price.no one in middle.I'm obviously in the second group.I like everything about it,from it's bottle to it's scent
4th Edit:
My husband believes it smells like a spicy orange body lotion I used to have.it's strange as I can't find anything lotion like in it

This is yumminess

Delicious gourmand notes and liquored scents of curacao, citrus, soft florals, soft woods and vanilla. The main attraction in this fragrance is the curacao which is a tropical booze from the Caribbean island of Curacao in the Dutch Antilles. It's an orange flavored liquor, blue in color. It smells just like it when it opens. It's got citrus notes courtesy of a grapefruit and some star fruit/carambola just to give it that tropical island air. It smells like a cabana by a pool in a hotel in Puerto Rico, or an outdoor terrace restaurant in the Caribbean, with this exotic booze wafting into the air.

The florals are pushed aside and they can't do anything but swim in a pool of blue booze. The only flower scent I picked up on was honeysuckle and peony. This honeysuckle is not a big one but it is sweet and honeyed, so I guess it's just another form of honey. The peony and jasmine are probably together but they are faint and just a little bit powdery. The florals are not the key players. That opening of grapefruit-curacao is. The honeysuckle is probably the dominant "floral" aspect of the scent. It embraces the dry down of pure vanilla.

This is a creamy rich vanilla with a sweetness almost like vanilla frosting. It's beautifully recreated to smell like vanilla as one remembers it from a dessert. If this was drinkable, I'd put this perfume liquid into my mouth. It would have to taste as good as it smells. The vanilla is so nice.

Now if this fragrance does not go well with your skin chemistry and you don't care for citrus, honeysuckle or vanilla, then sample it first and never buy it blindly or just look for perfumes that might have similar notes but are more wearable for you. This kind of perfume reminds me of fragances like Siren by Paris Hilton or Juicy Couture, but it's not as fruity. This is not really that fruity as it is vanilla and booze.

This is grown up but not sophisticated. It's like a fragrance tailor made for a very laidback California girl in her early 20's, she wears bikinis, and shorts all year round and big oversized glasses. This perfume totally matches up with summer clothing that I like to wear and it reminds me of my Malibu.

I love it! It's too bad summer's over and I can't wear it anymore. However it has been an unusual September weather of 100 degrees here lately and this fragrance hits the spot.

juniemoon

I like this one a lot it is perfect for fall.I am not usually fond of citrus but the orange-spiciness is so yummy. (I know it says grapefruit but to me it smells like orange). It goes good with BBW Cashmere Glow lotion or the Vanilla Sugar lotion as well. I got a 100 ml bottle for $20 at Shoppers Drug Mart, Lasting power is pretty good. Glad to have it and hope to always have it in my collection It does last quite well on clothes at least three or four days.

colorblindlove

Ughh!! So I finally was able to get my hands on this perfume after reading countless reviews of people saying that it was a nice spicy vanilla/caramel type of scent that will impress any man lol. Well....it smells like alcohol and baby powder on me :( I sprayed this on my wrist every night for about 4 days to see if I could get any of the vanilla/caramel notes and nope, just powdery spice. I only paid around $15 for it on ebay and I'm sending it back ASAP!

Oh and the perfume was really weak on my skin too. It only lasted two hours tops! I actually went into the guess store today while I was at the mall to see if they still had this perfume so I could test it & make sure that I didnt get a fake. Unfornately, they didnt have this scent in stores.

Eyviab

Wow I miss this frag so much! I had bought this in the end of summer of 2006 and I loved it through the fall and winter! Such good memories with this one! I felt sexy, independent and I can hear destiny's child singing in the background while I wore it! Independent ladies!!! Lol sweet, musky, sexy little frag!

Skayalily

Lip gloss! Sticky/tacky, fruity, tween girl lip gloss. And then I'm drinking a fruity, colorful drink in some bar that wants to be a tropical paradise, but doesn't have any sand nearby. This is so sweet, a dark heavy sweet; it's all waxy fruit sugars and syrupy booze sweetness; the flowers bring the tropics, and it's oddly adorable. It mellows a little and loses the lip gloss vibe after about an hour but remains very sweet. The musk comes up and it's a sweet skin musk for a few more hours.

Bunny Phone

I LOVE this scent. This is Pink Sugar who comes home to visit a few weeks every summer with tons of racy clothes and stories to tell. It's warm, sweet, sexy, nice projection and long-lasting. I always get tons of compliments from men when I wear this. I agree with the review that said this is great perfume to wear when you know you're going to get a little physical with someone. Somehow it smells ten times better after I'm done making out with my man.

Music_luver77

I just got this one and I do like it. On me it smells like a cross between "Meow" by Katy Perry and "Fleur defendue" by Lolita lempicka. I pick up a lot of the vanilla, which is not straight vanilla, but it is mixed nicely with a hint of citrus. I am testing this in summer warmth but imagine it would be nice in cooler months too. Not unique or amazing, but a pleasant addition. Probably a safe blind buy.
Edit: Very comforting scent that I wore a lot last summer. Plan to this summer too.

Southern Blonde

This is a very sweet smelling fruity tropical perfume. Oh, it's like a cool (not hot) summer night just after sun down by the sea/marina (insert location: Honolulu Hawaii, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Florida) at a restaurant. The scent of curacao is very strong here. Curacao is an island in the Caribbean part of the Dutch Antilles and next to Bonaire. As a paid entertainer/showgirl in cruise lines like Princess and Royal Caribbean, I've been to this island before and the curacao drink they made there is exactly what this smells like. It's a fruity boozy orange flavored cocktail. If you like citrus in your alcohol, and now you transform it into a sweet perfume smell, then you'll be in for a treat. There's also floral flashes of soft pink peony, jasmine and honeysuckle. The florals are light but detectable especially the honeysuckle which blends with the citrus and the booze. This smells like orange flavored root beer when the weather gets too hot but it smells much more floral and creamy like an ice cream float in cooler weather. The dry down is vanilla, very very good vanilla. Creamy, sweet, gourmand vanilla. I like to wear this scent during my cruise jobs but I like it so much that even back home in Florida I wear this to parties. This is totally a party perfume for the summer months.

anapana83

Flirty, sultry, attention-grabbing. These are the words that automatically come to my mind when i think of this perfume. It was pretty much love at first sniff when my mom gave this fragrance to me. Fruity and sweet with a hint of spice and musk. It can be worn during the day but is particularly very appropriate for a sexy night out. Spray lightly, otherwise it can become overwhelming. I'd definitely buy this one again.

LuxAestiva

It's sweet, floral, woody and gourmand. I can't tell who is winning the race either. I also can't tell if I like this or hate it. It smells like a cocktail of caramel and cheap bourbon garnished with honeksuckle flowers. This smells so mid-2000s and pretty tacky, but it's also sort of charming.

Streak

I wish there was a "Not Sure" option above, in addition to "like" or "dislike". I really *want* to like this. It was a blind buy, and based on the description I was hoping it might be similar to original Guess. I smell a lot of the good things that reviewers have noted: the jasmine, amber, vanilla, blended with other notes (including something decidedly woods-y) I can't quite define. All things I like in perfumes.

Sadly, on top of it all, overpowering it, is some unidentified note that my nose interprets as baby powder. Something about my body chemistry just doesn't work well with this.

I'm quite envious of those of you who can pull it off, because the descriptions here sound absolutely lovely.

Incidentally, an Etsy seller who makes "impostors" of designer fragrances sent me a sample of her version of this. When I removed the lid from the sample vial, I instantly recognized the fragrance and the similarity to the original, but I absolutely loved it! I have yet to test it on my skin, but I'm convinced that what I smelled in the vial is actually how this perfume is meant to be experienced. If it's as nice on my skin as it is in the vial, this Guess by Marciano replica could easily become a favorite.

EVAN SWIFT

I love it.. Muskiness n woodsy.. On my skin it linger all day.. It is sexy. Good projection. And very intimidating.. Good for a long sex session LOL

Swamp Lily

A honeyed gourmand with a bitter undercurrent that actually improves it and stops it from being full on treacle. If you like the sweet stuff this could be a good affordable alternative to the fairy floss that's out there.

VioletNoir

im disappointed in this scent. I wasnt able to smell it before buying it. i just dont like it. Its not "me" or my style. If anybody would like to do a swap with me that would be awesome. the bottle is about 98% full.

PS..that kind of scents i enjoy...Sweet, fresh, vanilla, citrus, powdery, aquatic, gourmand

I get no vanilla in this

Heartswell.

Guess by Marciano is not a bad scent, far from it. It's a decent sweet one, but it gets too cloying to my nose and almost headache-inducing. It's probably the combo of vanilla (which I can't really detect), fruits (which come through as sweetness), curaçao liqueur (which does come through). The opening is sweet and loud. The drydown is strange with a musky/floral note showing up and not really meshing well with the rest of the sweet notes and I can't get over that. It always smells like there's something 'off' about the whole thing. It's nothing like I've ever smelled before (among other perfumes of its category that is), I'll give it that.

It has decent sillage and okay lasting power. I tested this when the weather was warmer (not in the heat because I'm not insane) and when it was colder. It's definitely a cold weather scent because the cold gives a chance for the fruit to shine and makes the scent lighter and way less cloying.

All in all, for me, it's a bit unique, but not really. I got it at a relatively cheap price, so I can't really complain. It's not that I don't like it. I like it when it doesn't try to suffocate me. Which is most of the time I wear it, so I'll probably only use it lightly or when it's cold outside.

harvest archer

Marciano would be a love for me because I love the notes. When I spray on my skin, it seems as if it just disappears in five minutes flat. It lasts longer on fabric, though. I smell the Curacao and starfruit immediately; the vanilla comes through and I get a little bit of wood just before it disappears. Its probably my chemistry, because in my opinion this is a very nice fragrance.

Melodiarose82

This perfume makes me nauseous. Yuck.

Jmalone84

Mmm. Creamy vanilla and booze. Not sure if I want to smell like this but I like the smell on my wrist for a little while. Very warm and cozy. Might be a nice bedroom scent for when you want to feel edible & sexy. This reminds me a lot of the body shop vanilla oil except with a little more kick. Projects very well with decent longevity. Might consider this in the future for winter when I am in the mood for vanilla.

bluepistachio

This is a boozy yet chic vanilla. It reminds me a little of Bonbon and Fantasy. However, this fragrance is sweet, but not as sweet as them. The curucao and the vanilla, and citrus remind me of Pulse. They are a little similar but more different more than anything.

This one does not cause me a headache like Bonbon and Pulse. It lasts up to four hours with my chemistry. The projection is medium. The musk and the wood note give it that creaminess that adds sophistication to the fun notes. Very well done!

Layana

Very good value! Lovely vanilla and toffee caramel is what I get, among some warm spices. So much more interesting than prada candy and so much more affordable. Smells good on men too, my younger brother keeps using it. Quite strong and long lasting! (Wonder if different countries have differing concentrations of formulation?)

Kohla1

This is the kind of fresh vanilla I have been searching for!!! I find the sickly sweet vanilla too much sometimes and this is a perfect vanilla, its non offensive. It doesnt project well which is actually good for me considering I have people in my life who dont like smelling perfumes.

Venusta

So fresh! Vanilla on vacation, crispy and warm sunshine-type. This is not a cookie vanilla. So snuggle worthy- but also ready to take on the day. The floral notes are blended well and give the vanilla a sexy edge.

This is an uplifting, soft fragrance. I can't imagine anyone wearing this with a grumpy attitude. Would saying "yummy yum yum" be repetitive for how yummy this smells?

Jasmine2024

warm, snugly, enticing, sexy, it reminds me of winter on a freezing cold night next to the fire all glam and classy- cabin like situation ❄️

Muzii

Sweet and warm vanilla.i also live it but quit fade quickly not longable for my skin.

Corinne39

Hummm... Don't get me wrong, I like this fragrance, but I think I must be missing something judging from the reviews here. On me it's a pleasant enough vanilla scent, but that's it..simple, straight forward and uncomplicated. Like it but don't think I'd re-buy.

Edit: the weather's got a bit colder now it's October, so I've been wearing this a bit more and although I still get mostly vanilla, I get a little bit of spice now too..changed my mind, maybe I would re-buy!

nightcutter

This is a beautiful and bright but also soft vanilla. It has a subtle fruity smell in the background - from the curacao I think. It's lovely. Only issue is it's light and doesn't last long.

J'aimeParfum

oh this is...oh listen,i put amor amor cacharel on one wrist and guess by marciano on other...30 minute later i forgot which one is amor amor and which one is guess...inexpensive yet so fabulous!! love at the fist sniff.

nursafwah87

This is the perfume that's going to get attention from people around you.

This is the only perfume that I've bought consistently (I've lost count for how many bottles I've bought) for 4 years straight. The sillage is merely not there but it's long lasting on me 7hours ++.

I'm not good in telling the substance of the smells but it makes me feel sexy, happy and confident!

Thanks Guess!

LaviniaMidnight

I love this, it is so sultry. I'm getting mostly sandalwood/vanilla but I love those notes so a big thumbs-up for me. I'm thinking this would smell awesome on a man, too. I wish it had better longevity but considering the price I'm going to stock up and touch up without worrying about running out. Truly a sexy fragrance.

LuLuGoes

Beautiful. Guess by Marciano for Women reminds me a little of Fath de Fath Jacques Fath for women. It's the citrus and vanilla turned into golden velvet by florals. Not a dupe, but similar.

Guess by Marciano is strong and sweet. I pick up on the honeysuckle and jasmine right away. Really pretty. Sillage and staying power are good.

MAGF1993

A NICE VANILLA BUT TOO STRONG FOR ME.

Saumi

I'm in love with this perfume. Although it's my mum who got this as a gift, I can't stop spraying it whenever I go out on a sultry evening. It smells like an Indian sweets shop!or like sitting on grandma's lap warm, happy and content. The cardamom and vanilla notes makes me nostalgic.

valbona.bergman

This perfume is a cycle. The sweetness is a lovely caramel and vanilla with warm spices and when you think you will get overwhelmed by the sweetness, there comes the mouthwatering citrus to save the day and make you want more of the sweetness.Love it ,very cosy and warm, hugs you in a cloud of comfort and hapiness.

Peachysugarbuns

When my skin can hold on to the cardamom spice and draw the florals out of Guess I love it (very sexy); however, usually my body chemistry and this fragrance battle it out, and from the rubble appears a cheap, waxy fruit note that just WON'T go away. It stays, and soon finds friends in a sickly-sweet vanilla and a half-assed powder. I only wish cardamom, jasmine and I could go all Mean Girls with that trio and be like, "You can't sit with us."

I have the richest results when I spray this on my clothes and let my skin warm it up - then I really do dig this frag!

fungest

its rare thing that i buy 2 bottles for any parfum but this no.. its very warm vanilla scent
sillage very good
longevity like monster i spray on my neck and with any move i smell it for + 10 hours
note am a man ..

CPelly82

A great way to add more depth to this fragrance is to use Oud by Demeter. I spray the oud on first and I let it settle for a few moments then I spray on the Guess. A perfect marriage between these two.

adorkable_scent

I boughy this one because this smells great on my friend.. but idk why the only note that i could smell on my skin is just the white floral!! Sweet but not sophisticated. So sad eventho this isnt that bad:(
I really crave the vanilla note tho!

Sweelty

This one smells exactly like 212 VIP CH. But it has nothing to do with BS Fantasy

m_mtz40

Similar to Lolita Lempicka, Nicole NR, 212 Sexy CH, Angel TM, BS Fantasy, Kim Kardashian Gold, Guerlain My Insolence

Angelkaos

I just got this today a blind buy, it's so amazing and beautiful i love this smell!!!

CPelly82

What can I say about this perfume expect WOW?! I love the depth this fragrance has. On the first spray it's very woody with lots of vanilla fragrance then it calms down to a very powdery scent. Reminds me of Diesel's Loverdose Tattoo only slightly stronger. Now that the weather is much warmer I love wearing this on hot days. There's something sexy about it.

agentj

I had a deep LOVE for the original Guess, it was my favorite in 1995, except for the fact that it stained my clothes. However, I can't find much to like in this one. The initial spray holds some promise, but the dry down is just weird (sort of bug spray-ish) on me. I'm bummed.

lirael00

I blind bought it based on reviews and cheap price. Well, I can say that it doesn't smell cheap at all and the first time I wore it I've already received a compliment from a girl passing me by down the street. It's a very warm scent, I like to mixed it with Charlie Gold (which has that spicy cinnamon I like) and together with Guess it's a very good combination. Sillage is great and longevity too, let say it stays on my skin for about 6 hours. Though I would say it's more appropriate to wear it in the winter/fall season I'm planning to wear it also in summertime, just because it's so noce. I'm always happy when I find a cheap fragrance that smells heavenly.

Eira Sol

My first impression of this affordable perfume was: "WOAH! Too sweet."

Fortunately it calms down and becomes more pleasant. It has kind of a sweet coconut thing going on. Still sweet, but with some body to it.

Sillage is good. Maybe a bit to good for some occassions.
I think you have to be a fan of sweet perfumes to really enjoy this. A bit too much for me.

CozyCat

If you are more partial to sweet scents, this is a good inexpensive scent for 'grab-n-go', day-to-night wear in fall/winter. It's more grown-up compared to celebrity gourmand releases like Fantasy and Can Can (love them but I don't wear them out often), satisfying my sweet tooth without making me feel like I'm stuck in high school. I had Fancy and used to love it, now I tend to find it syrupy cloying and too straightforward. Guess by Marciano shares similarities with Fancy, but with the strong syrupy sweetness dialed down and tempered with citrus, musk and spice (cardamom). Unlike Fancy, I can also pull this one off on breezy spring/summer evenings without feeling like I'm drowning in a vat of caramel-vanilla syrup. It also makes me think of Miss Dior Cherie 2005 (which I also used to love) if you were to take out the strawberry and patchouli...it has that sweet musky-caramel-orange vibe that I love in Miss Dior Cherie. I am looking forward to wearing this one often in the coming fall/winter. Not mind-blowing or particularly unique, but very pleasant, affordable, yummy, happy, playfully seductive and easy to wear. Longevity and sillage are good.

TattooGypsy

This was my signature scent for many years, and to me this just smells like what I imagine a fairy crossing might smell like; sweet, woody and like magic!! I really do still love this scent. This settles on my skin so nicely, and 'reactivates' hours later if I do a workout and perspire or when taking a shower. It's just a really beautiful scent that I think hasn't had enough hype.

theposhest

This is great for a night out, either for a walk or dinner. This smell resonates well with me, it leaves you thinking of how wonderful the scent is once it's gone.

anitaoolong

Guess by Marciano is a versatile fragrance. I find it's compatible with warm weather because its slight citrusy, sweet floral is refreshing and relaxing, without trying to smother all sources of heat. It has a friendly, warm and golden vibe.

This summer I've been through all my cooling summer scents trying to find something to trick me into feeling cooler. In some cases I've been successful but I sometimes get that feeling of coming out of the heat and walking into a really cold room - sometimes it's too cool for comfort. Some of my perfumes seem to over-do the cool factor.

The curacao is there (hic!) but it settles down to more of an orange syrup note than full on booze. The light spice from the cardamon lends a slightly exotic feel. The star fruit contributes a slight sour fruitiness without being overtly fruity. It doesn't last terribly long, but then I don't spray more than once. I don't mind reapplying because I actually enjoy the liqueur note (and I'm not really a drinker!).

I find it to be an easy scent to wear for casual days. I like the soft sillage of this fragrance in summer, but I'm also looking forward to testing this one in the autumn and winter. I think I will see another side to this fragrance.

piggyluv

I have a strange relationship with this scent-sometimes I wear it and feel so sexy- I smell the boozy orange, rich white floral, warm simmering spices, enveloped in a musky, vanilla base. On another day I will spray this and it will seem a cloying, overly sweet, nauseating mess and I will find it stomach churning for a good 2 hours before it softens and becomes tolerable to me. Honestly, I don't think it's the perfume, I think it's me. I think a lot has to do with hormones as I cannot stand this scent during PMS when my sense of smell seems acute.

Ioli19

This perfume is very different to the rest I own, so it will take some time for me to get used to it. It's heavy but warm, almost comforting. The vanilla and musk notes are the most prominent, not the rest. I have not worn it out and about yet, so not able to say what the reception by others is, I think I don't feel confident with it yet as it's outside my comfort zone still! It is sweet and makes a statement, it's feminine, very creamy, it does demand attention, it's different and along lines of 212 sexy in a way.
I think it has a place in my wardrobe and we will get on really well especially on winter nights!

Edit: I had to give this to a friend, she wears it well and it's lovely on her, guess we were never meant to be!

rosembloom

Wearing this on the 1rst of Febuary is like being hugged by an old and beloved friend. She is warm and sweet, smells of spice and fine liqueur... This friend has a sunny (orange) disposition and a sassy personality (spices and cardamom) I greatly enjoy. Without overwhelming, she makes a statement as she enters the room, filling it with her charming presence and stylish flair. I love Guess, lace stockings over tanned legs, opulent understatement and all! Sweet?? oh yeah! If you know me, you know I love gourmand fragrances and this one sure calms my sweet cravings! The opening is a burst of Carambola, spicy and nectar-like and delighfully fresh Grapefruit. It reminds me so much of L by Lolita Lempika! I can almost detect frangipani and heliotrope though they are not listed.
Jasmine and honeysuckle give this beautiful scent a languid and vaporous sultriness that lingers beautifully on me, making it a very feminie fragrance. Since my skin basically seems to drink in my scents, it is not strong on me but has much presence, which I loooove. Once the drydown settles in, the heady and spicy opening merges beautifully with rich 'tonka bean'-like vanilla ,soft musky notes and smokey woods. Such a beautiful scent for Winter and Fall! The cardamom renders it an floriental without stuffiness . Instead, she remains airy and nectarious, floating about me like a sunny halo. I get this spicy Capucino scent , dulce de leche and praline drydown that last about 5hours. To me this is : Fancy meets Ellie Saab! Loving it!

primerie

The vanilla, cardamom, and musk in Guess by Marciano do smell nice, feminine, and warm, but a bit too heavy for me to wear in daily basis. I could not recognize the Curaçao liqueur, btw. Blame it on my olfactory bulb. :D

tgnetz

I received a sample of this fragrance and gave it to my wife. We both instantly fell in love with it so I bought her a bottle for Christmas.

This fragrance is just amazing. I find the floral scents to be strong and elegant. This feels as if it were a natural progression on the female powerhouse perfumes of the 70s and 80s and definitely does not smell dated.

One thing I must say about this perfume is that it is very strong. My wife will apply only one or two sprays of this and it will fill the room. When she leaves the room the scent lingers for a while. There have been days when I came home from work, she had left the house for a couple hours, and when I walked through the front door the house still smelled amazing.

My wife was a huge fan of Alfred Sung Shi and that has been her signature scent for years but this one is quickly winning that battle and has taken top spot in her rotation. This definitely makes me want to try the male version.

shazzaley

nice smelling but not lasting for me..

rockegg

First -
This opened with a bright and unique bit of intrigue that unfortunately faded away in a heartbeat, but it caught my attention. Then it turned into another heavily vanilla based scent that made me yawn. There are too many of them out there.

Then -
My husband said, you smell nice. And he never does that.

So I find this parfum infuriating. I want to wear my beloved chypres but I get complimented by my husband and other people when I smell like baking cookies.

Ayola83

Whenever I wear this perfume, I tend to get into some trouble with my male students/co-workers. First of all, it lights up a room...you can't hide with this perfume! Maybe it's my body chemistry working really well with this, but it's well worth the cost (it's not expensive at all). I'll smell the citrus and the spices at first (the spices remain), and then I smell like someone else stated...caramel...and spicy, warm, creamy vanilla. This one is definitely a keeper!

LeggysMum

Just tried this, as its on special @ $29 for 100ml {3.4oz}, so, thinking it would be cloying and too strong for warmer weather... today is quite warm, was pleasantly surprised. Instead, although strong at first, it is caramelly heaven, and my hubby who suffers hayfever ( induced by pollen, grass seeds, NOT PERFUMES< thankfully) and is fairly neutral about my fumes at the best of times... he is my fragrance wardrobe financial backer, but isn't bothered much which one I wear, ACTUALLY LIKED THIS
. After forcing him to sniff my arm couple of times more,he asked which one it was, so he can go get it for me.

I agree that there is a pineapple note, perhaps the curacao, but it mellows to a sweet vanillic caramel, not in the slightest overpowering. I think this is lovely, and quite underrated. This is a good thing as its not on everyone, and is available at a ridiculous price.
This is of course just my perception, and on my chemistry, but for those who like sweeter fumes, give it a try :}

yumcheesy

smells like "COINTREAU"- the orange liquor

lyciumchld

I got this for $20 at Marshall's, and it's been a great little scent for everything from errands to date night. Guess starts out fruity and spicy, but dries down to deep, slightly floral vanilla musk. I like it, and the price is nice, too. Silage is ok for the first couple of hours, thereafter it's a skin scent. Longevity could be better, but it's not bad. Refresh after about 3-4 hours. I'm a bit surprised, since the notes are fairly different, but Guess actually reminds me a lot of Nicole by Nicole Ritchie. I wear it layered over her lotion and it stays a bit better.

Kittycat63

I'm amazed at all the positive reviews for this perfume but it just goes to show how different people, and their tastes, are!

I blind bought a bottle of Guess by Marciano a few days ago and was excited to receive it after thinking about potentially blind buying it for awhile. My excitement at getting it though quickly disappeared once I spritzed it onto my wrist. Like countless other similar perfumes that saturate the market nowadays, it's VERY sweet, to the point of being super sickly, and cloying. It actually turned my stomach slightly but I stuck it out in the hopes that it would morph into something much better. Well, it kind of did improve slightly after the initial blast, and about 20 minutes of having it on my wrist, but it still didn't exactly blow me away! Then, amazingly, after about an hour or so it virtually evaporated and I couldn't smell a single thing!

So, my experience of this perfume is a bit of a flop to say the least. The only good thing about it for me is the packaging ... the bottle is nice and it comes very nicely packaged in its box and little draw string pouch, BUT the perfume itself lets all that down in my opinion (as does the other Guess perfume I blind bought a couple of years ago - the one in the silver bottle).

I see that someone has compared this to Prada Candy and I agree to some degree. Both are sticky sweet, generic and kind of predictable / boring (and Prada Candy is WAAAY too expensive for what it is!). I have Hard Candy which in some ways is like Prada Candy only much better and much cheaper! So, there's also a similarity to Hard Candy but, again, I much prefer Hard Candy to Guess by Marciano as it's far less sickly, fresher (thanks to the rhubarb!), sexier and longer lasting.

Personally, I don't think Guess by Marciano is sexy at all. To me it's just sickly and very forgettable and I really doubt I'd bowl any man over wearing this! Having said that, I may give it another go if I'm brave enough to withstand the nauseatingly sweet opening so I may update this review in a day or two!

In the meantime this gets a 1 out of 5 from me!

UPDATE: Well, after trying this out a couple more times it's begun to grow on me for some reason and seemed to smell better the second and third time around. So, now I think in some ways it's quite likeable but still, it's not dissimilar to many other sweet. fruity perfumes out there so is hardly a standout. It's just quite nice if you like that kind of thing and the bottle and packaging are nice.

Delana Deluca

This perfumes gives me a headache.

NicoleO

I quite like the drydown of this, as it's mainly vanilla. Can't stand the top notes though, they give me a headache the moment I spray this on. So not worth the wait unfortunately.

HeidiLynn

Quick whiff of pineapple (of all things--must be the curacao?), then this incense note (also not listed, must be my imagination) combined with cinnamon (the cardamom?) and vanilla.

At first, I thought I might not like it--whatever was giving an incense note was too strong. Then, the spicy sweetness took over. Marciano reminds me of a combination of Nanette by Nanette Lepore and L de Lolita Lempicka...I know, a bizarre combination, but I smell this smoky incense (like Nanette) and this sweet, spicy vanilla (cinnamon-citrus-floral like Lolita). It smells like a hot-date-night scent, heady and a bit exotic. Strong drinks and lots of flirting are in order for this scent!

It's the heat of summer here in Texas, and this isn't out of place; I think it might be a bit better suited for winter, but it seems flexible. Sillage is moderate to strong, longevity as yet unproven.

missk

I'm surprised to find so many people recommending Guess by Marciano for the cooler months. To my nose, this is more of a beachy scent, with the vanilla note often resembling sweet coconut milk.

To be fair, I suppose you could wear it all year round, but I still prefer it during Summer. It has a somewhat tropical vibe, especially in regards to the star fruit and Curacao opening. It's quite a pleasant fragrance, a lot better than I expected it to be.

The drydown is by far the most appealing to my nose, with a smooth, slightly sweet blend of vanilla, musk, cardamom and white woods. I'm also pleased to say that the longevity is quite good, lasting at least six hours on my skin.

I don't mind Guess fragrances, however I'd never pay full price to own one. Do your research and find a discount store that stocks them. I don't know about other countries, but Australia sells this fragrance and Guess for Women for a reasonable price in some discount chemists.

glow_rainbow

I bought this perfume this morning.
It's really vanilla favor and I love it.
And I just figure out that the fragrance is like Madagascan Vanilla Thebodyshop

thejasmine13

I LOVE this! I got a sample in a goodie bag and fell in love with it. I will definitely be buying some more as I finished it months ago and have been thinking about it since. It's very warm, deep, sweet but not in a sugary way. I enjoyed having the scent around me and it was very heavy and enveloping (in a good way)and lasted hours.

RGR

The first time I smelled this I ran away thinking I was being ambushed by the ladies in the department store. I refused all of the sprays headed in my direction.
The next time I encountered Guess it was rather different. The first thing that went through my mind was DEAR LORD this is strong!

Ladies and gents prepare for the POW!
This is strong, heady, sensual and fabulous. You have to experience this to understand this. Its strength is like a huge tidal wave ..... only residing to reveal a golden, musky, spicy, never-ending heaven. This stuff can give you a tooth ache if you're not used to sweet perfumes! You can put it on and its like "look at me", wake up, smack everyones faces because I can spiced vanilla. If you have the skin for it this will smell like a fruity, spice and caramel candy. If you don't then I am sorry to inform you will die smothered by persistent citrus hell and spice.

Now, unlike many other critiques, I completely understand the bottle. This is sexy, scorching hot and spiced vanilla being adorned by peekaboo flowers (jasmine). Its like high-heeled tanned legs wearing subtle fishnet stockings. This perfume lures people, demands attention and is definitely a compliment magnet.
I love this because amongst the hoards of perfume I own this is the one that doesn't quit, it doesn't budge, it will not give up on you even when you have worn it all day long. I can go to sleep and still smell it on my pillow the next day. LOVE it!

barbie_18

OMG plz believe when I say this scent is too sweet, very overpower and extremely headache inducing. There is no kick to this scent but a pool of florals and the vanilla is just pushing it...no exaggerations over here

gooberskitty21

Boozy, citrus, spicy opening that borders on unpleasant for the first hour, then blossoms into a sexy, warm & very present caramel blanket. I really like this one. It's well made by comparison to more recent caramel gouramonds that are equally yummy but sadly gone in sixty seconds (cough, cough, *Prada Candy* cough). The silage and longevity is impressive considering how cheap it is. I've noticed that other sites list dulce de leche which is a form of caramel as a note, but oddly enough It's not listed here..

poivrerose

I'm actually surprised that no one has really mentioned how musky this scent is! There is a really heady sensual white musk note. At first I get major amounts of musky white florals, star fruit, and curacao. I honestly don't like the way this opens up. The fruit essence just doesn't have enough bite. It needs a brigther citrus note - kind of wishing the grapefruit note was detectable. I'm really hoping it does not stay this way. I love the musk element, but I'm hoping for that vanilla drydown almost everyone else is getting. The top notes are lasting way too long on my skin. It takes an hour or so for this to begin its drydown. The heady musky white floral notes become more apparent as the fruits and alcohol begin to fade. I like it at this phase as it has a very sensual jasmine quality. The vanilla and honeysuckle are trickling in about 5 hours later giving it a Juicy Couture vibe. It is thinning out. I was hoping for a nice rich vanilla citrus here. But I'm getting mostly musk jasmine. I know there's always the element of skin chemistry, but I just thought I'd add a contrasting review. I do not like the opening of this one. There is nothing pretty about it. But I do enjoy the drydown. Heady musky white floral - a hint of sweetness - mostly from flowers and not vanilla. Unfortunately for my skin it is not gourmand. It really projects and lasts!

deekay

ill always love this perfume...
i feel like its underated.
on me, its not SO much of a vanilla. its just perfectly fresh and sweet, these notes work so well together. on my skin it lasts a very long time considering the price, i feel like its almost a steal.
its such yummy juice its one fragrance i own that actually gets the most compliments.
i dont think this has an appropriate age, its just really pretty, and i honestly do feel sexy wearing this one. any time of year!

mihaela01

Very nice and very inexpensive for the way it smells. It s rich ,vanilla and a slight of citrus. On me it lasts about 6h.

Aina Harryna

Really love this scent, vanilla is my favorite! Lasting in 6 hour.

Amalmarri

i bought a FB of this beauty after test it in a perfume store .its feminine seductive lasts for days . i finished 100 ml bottle and will get new bottle soon.and yes i get lots of complments when using it

Vamy69

I recently bought this blind off eBay and I must say I am so loving it! I can't believe it has taken me so long to try the Guess perfumes. I have often walked right past them without a thought. This smells delicious! At first I get a blast of curacao with some slight citrus undertones and then it turns warm, caramely, with a vanilla slightly powdery dry down. It lasts an eternity too. I am officially obsessed! I am a sucker for any type of gourmand (even though this is considered a fruity floral) It smells more gourmand to me and this hits all of the yummy things I love about delicious gourmands!

Coconutmusk

I just blind bought this at T.J Maxx for $15.00 (after reading reviews here first of course!)I don't think I'm getting any of the citrus which is good because I don't like grapefruit or lemony smells, but I do like orange. I'll agree this settles in a caramely and musky scent, and it's a little boozy and a tad spicy. It's very pretty! To me, this isn't a 20 year old sex kitten scent, this smells like a rich lady in her 40's. I think this is what the Kim Catrall character in Sex and the City would smell like. Also something about this reminds me of being on a cruise ship but I don't know why. I've only had it on for about an hour now and I like the way I feel in it. I feel very classy and sophisticated lol. I don't know if this is overpowering because I don't have a sensitive nose but since I can smell it pretty well on myself I'd wager to bet others can smell it a mile away.

Wow this perfume is addictive!

The first spray was very strong and boozy but thankfully it settled to a deep sultry caramel/coffee and powdery vanilla scent. I have never smelt such a rich spicy and caramel perfume! I get no citrus or curacao.

I personally do not think this is that sweet. It lasted about 6 hours on my skin & has moderate sillage.

Overall, I feel this perfume would be perfect to wear on a late night date with your partner. Sexy, spicy and intriguing. I highly recommend to fans of rich spicy caramel fragrances!

I get alcohol at first, then CAPPUCINO (?). Hangover in a bottle :)?! The cappucino then turns caramelly and that's it on me, no orange at all.
Too gourmandy for me so will be putting it up for swap within UK, bottle unwrapped from cellophane today.

Yum! This perfume screams "Eat me!" The most delicious, warm vanilla!
I'm not a fan of sweet vanilla scents, so after trying in on I left the shop with a definite decision to never buy it, but to my greatest surprise about half an hour later, vanilla lightened up and voila! A new love is revealed! It deepens and unfolds with time, gives more space to cardamon and citrus. Very sensual. In my opinion it suites best the fall/ winter season. A nightime scent.

This one was worn a lot by the late Anna Nicole smith. This smells a lot like prada candy. Prada candy has a lot of iris in it that keeps it soft powdery and mature. Guess by marciano has star fruit in it which makes it sweet and fun. The biggest difference to me is a woman might wear prada candy for herself. Anyone squirting guess by marciano is looking for a man. This is a relaxed bombshell of a perfume. One to wear with jeans and its amazing on a summer night. I get drunk off the notes in the summer. Amazing. This is not particularly refined but its sexy and really approachable. Don't spray too much.

This one def grew on me. I bought it, tried it on then decided I didn't like it and took it back... but all day afterward, I couldn't get it off my mind, especially at the end of the day when it dried and started to wear off. The dry down was this alluring, soft sexy (as opposed to the scent that seemed to ooze sex when I first applied)and silky musky mix of an almost caramel scent and vanilla. Yum! I went back the next day to buy it back, no questions asked!! It's my new, date- night sexy perfume!

ttrappe

This is a good go to everyday scent. It's clean and agreeable. It's a good, afforable perfume.

gasp!! i see so many lucky ladies have found this for $20 when i paid full price!! oh well..LOLZ =)) anyway, i love this scent ...warm, almost golden (perfect packaging for this one) juiciness to this scent...this is one of the few scents that i have a hard time putting into words but all i know is that i adore it...it's not earthy, woodsy, or spicy (all notes that i fancy)...not candy shop sweet to me (which i love also as i am a woman of extremes!) like so many say but gives a glazed kinda feel as crazy as that sounds...this scent would work well layered with ellen by ellen tracy to add a touch of soft, warm spice or escada magnetism to really indulge in syrupy richness if that's your thing or let it stand on it's own 'cuz it's just so damn pretty without any help from its fragrance friends! i put this on when i'm alone after a bath just so i can sniff it and bask in it's beauty

HLVTCA09

Pure caramel with a hint of cinnamon on me... i like it for the holiday season but then it goes back to the furthest back of my shelf ...

Siniorita

Creamy Vanilla accompanied with orange fragrance.. In my opinion, it's more suitable for cold weather as it will add that Sexy Warm feeling to your mood... In hot weather it feels too heavy to my nose..

cdimmick2013

To me this has a very buttery smell with a mix of vanilla and soft musk. i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!

amberdk621

This fragrance is amazing and I have never regretted paying full price in Macy's for a gift set. It is heavenly and I really can never wear too much! It is perfect for the colder months, doesn't really seem like it would be as good in the heat, so I don't even try it. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it, tons!! So I think I will pull it back out when it turns cold again. I don't care if some say its like Kim Kardashian or Britney Spears, they probably imitated this one and I wouldn't care to ever purchase their fragrances anyhow. Capitalizing on popularity.
I Love Guess by Marciano and I can't imagine ever not loving it in the future.
Oh, and it reminds me of marshmallows. Warm, gooey, sugary, a little vanilla I guess, just yummy!

lmktacwa

Got a sample of this. It took me a while to figure out why it smelled so familiar... and then today I finally figured out who this smells like... Like Kim Kardashian Gold. Very similar to each other. And when I look at the notes, the only notes that are the same are the citrus, musk, and Jasmine. But then, I think that is what I detect the most in each of these. At any rate, since I already own Gold, I'll pass on buying a bottle of this. The price points are similar. Not like Beyonce Pulse at all. That is a fruity concoction. This is not a sweet fruity.

Warm, creamy, slight citrusy, just like KK Gold.

AngieGCarp

Yummy, casual, great price at Overstock about 20.00. This can be worn by all ages. Not a sillage monster and it maybe lasts on the skin 4 hours, 8 on clothes. Honestly, I love the notes in this perfume but they are nothing remarkable. All I smell is vanilla. I wear it church it is so light so as not to be offensive.

evacecilias

I have had this for a while, got it as an extra in a multiple swap. But I am not really in to vanilla cupcake bakery round the corners dreamworld...up till now...
cause the strong. sweet orange curacoa is sooo nice mixed with the cardamon and grapefruit.
The middle note of honey suckle keeps it sweet and then takes the kuddly. vanilla soft and shy, over.
the flowers doesn't really take a part in this fluffy sweet and boozy scent.
During the heart I get vibes making me remember a time a while ago when I owned and loved Fantasy, the peanut note I always sensed also showed up here. I might use this a little more often, due to the sex appeal statement you'll be making while wearing it.... ;-)
This is also a sister twin to Pi by Givenchy ,even though the notes does'nt matchIt is a resemblence, like the first perfume it reminded me of from my own collection. I like this better !

miss mills

Seeeexy!!! A warm, casual sex bomb smell - a bed hair & jeans kind of girl would wear this (imho!)- it's very vanillary - too fruity sweet for me probably (I'll give it another try though) but really luscious to get a whiff of on other people. I would've thought it were almost a vanilla oriental tho?

aqua76239

I smelled it once before and thought it was right up my valley-sweet and heady. My nose must have been clogged up that day because I just picked up a bottle at TJ Maxx for under $20 but to my dissapointment its nothing like what I expected. This is woodsy sheer oriental which is not favorite category. If you like Mariah Carey M and Provocative Woman by Arden, you will probably like this. Guess is slightly heavier and sweeter than the other two but its not sweet enough for me(and it doesn't last past 1 hours either). Starfruit, Curacao? Sorry, not getting any of these notes except the bottom ones.To each one their own, but this is not for me.

batmats

I was really quite iffy about Guess by Marciano at first. I came across it by suggestion, while looking for a perfume that had a nice, spicey warm scent. I found that on my skin, it was initially very harsh-- but I really wanted it to work, because once that died down, it was such a cozy, warm smell.

After a couple of weeks of smelling it on and off, it won me over. The scent definitely doesnt smell the same sprayed on my neck, as it had on my wrist, which is odd. I wouldn't complain, however, as since giving this perfume a chance, I've been extremely happy with it. It's very nice, it lasts quite well and it settles into a gentle, spicey vanilla. Definitely a favourite.

on me it's quite floral, I can smell curacao and vanilla mostly, it stays long on my skin. I preffer to wear it during the day, and not particularly hot one. it smells best during a rainy day, or when it is a bit cooler outside. but all in all I preffer other scents by Guess. it was my favorite scent couple of years ago, but now I preffer completely other type of perfume :) it still remains part of my perfume collection, but I do not use it very often. bought it once for my mum, and I must say that it smells good on both older and younger women :)
definitely good for day at work, no one ever complained that it is too strong.

canadianpetite

Smelled this on my SIL and love getting a whif of it every now and then when she passes by. The curacao is sweet and vanillic but mixed with something citrusy. I feel sexy when I wear this. Very strong sillage so only one spray between the breastbone so I get to enjoy it all day without offending anyone in the office. For the weekends, I spray on the underside of my hair. On me, it lasts about 8-9 hours. A quick spray has sillage of about 4 feet.

Update: I went to a BBQ and was hugging people goodbye. One remarked that I smelled good (sprayed on nape of neck; been about 6hrs). Another time, my husband buried his nose on my neck and said the same thing. I now have about 7 bottles.

On me,
Sillage: about 4 feet plus a trail
Longevity: sometimes as long as 8 hours
Rating: 5/5

On my skin the orange curacao is pretty strong at first, but then I start noticing the cardamom, vanilla, honeysuckle, and jasmine. These notes blend together to become a rich multi-faceted fragrance experience that will get you head turning looks for hours to come. It has a very unique scent like no other perfume. If you like a strong scent that stays with you all day, this is your scent!

Sillo

Lovely perfume that can be worn in the winter, but is alright in the summer/fall. I don't understand the connection to CH Sexy, because that perfume is an overload of musk with bombs of vanilla and bergamot. I love this when I want something sexy but not overtly in your face. It is not a "memorable" perfume but lovely nonetheless.

AveParfum

I like the opening of this perfume because I can smell the cardamom and curacao, but it all too quickly settles into a boring fruity vanilla. If you already have Fancy (I do) you don't need this.
