Chris 1947 by Dior is a Floral Green fragrance for women. Chris 1947 was launched in 2003. Top note is Cranberry; middle notes are Sweet Pea, Violet, Cactus, Lily-of-the-Valley and Freesia; base note is Musk.

This limited edition of Dior’s perfume, presented in 2003, can seldom be found, because it was launched in a very small number. It is sold in larger European perfumeries and in duty-free shops at some airports.

Those who manage to find the romantic, rock 'n' roll and spontaneous perfume Chris 1947, as Dior describes it, can enjoy sparkling, delicate, fruity-floral tones, with a sensual woody-musky closure.

The top notes seduce with heaven seed, cranberry and reed. The heart is dynamic and passionate, with freesia, cactus blossom, sweet peas and lily of the valley. Sensual musk is dominant in the base. The bottle has the same form as the perfume Diorissimo, though it is pink and glittery—which makes this edition glamorous in accordance with a rock star image.

It is available as 50 ml edt.

This scent is a fairly subtle one. Having said that I may have received an old (albeit sealed) miniature bottle where the top notes have faded which may indicate this perfume doesnt age well. I remember this being a green fruity floral with a hint of spice. I also see many reviews online (old ones too) describing this as somewhat green and a tad spicy. This time round however the smell starts off as a watery powdery floral with some fruitiness from the cranberry which is not a bad smell at all as it still makes me nostalgic for the timeframe upon which this scent was launched. The top notes had definitely worn off which is a shame! The closest scents I can think of that resemble this gem are Ghost Luminous (also discontinued!) and Gucci Bamboo which is still in production. The latter resembles this more in the drydown where the "green- ness" is more or less absent but is still enjoyable.

wearing Chris 1947 again, after so many years, really bring back nostalgia. era when i first fall in love with world of fragrance, fresh clean powdery florals with lillies and freesia. there's a hint of fruitiness, but not sweet and very fresh. with that fluffy musky base, this is a pleasure to wear

it is a fresh, lighthearted memories of carefree younger years. i am always surprised with the longevity of this fragrance,i stay fragrant until the end of office hours!

Chris 1947 is a fresh green scent, as unapologetically cool as its name suggests and unisex despite its bold pink bottle. I have a vintage miniature from its time of release, and given that it's hard to find, I'm glad I have a chance to try it. A limited edition scent from the early noughties, its name refers to the iconic New Look era pioneered by Christian Dior, but C47 was given a decidedly Y2K aesthetic, cutting edge in 2003, cheerfully trashy by today's standards.

C47 opens with dewy green notes, sap-like and fresh. Cranberry, an unusual fruity note, adds crisp tartness. Cactus is listed, and I wouldn't have pinpointed it otherwise, but the dewy sap-like aquatic greenness in the background smells exactly like the tiny potted cacti that a childhood friend had.

Soft florals emerge after a little while, notably green, powdery violet and a lovely sweet pea note - reminiscent of my grandmother's garden. Sweet, aquatic freesia is present in the background, in keeping with trends of the time. It remains dewy and green, offsetting the sweet, slightly powdery florals beautifully.

It becomes slightly musky as it dries down, with powdery florals remaining, reasonably green until it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

A pleasant, breezy springtime scent, C47 is one of the nicest aquatic florals I've come across - not a scent family I usually like. It is effortless and undone, yet unusual and well-composed on closer inspection. Feminine-leaning but potentially unisex based on personal preference, this is not the basic floral-fruity I expected. C47 deserved more than a limited run. 4/5.

Literally the most antidepressant perfume I’ve smelled so far. Very uplifting!

Where oh where can I find this perfume? My sister bought this for me from Dubai circa 2004 and I have never been able to find it again. And no, it is not similar to J'Adore or any of the current Dior fragrances.

Although a teenager when I started wearing it, this perfume is not just girly. Yes, it is floral and somewhat fresh but the dry down has the level of sophistication and elegance one expects from Dior.

Sadly this has been discontinued which is a shame as it is the kind of perfume you want to have in your collection. The kind of perfume which everyone loves yet is unmistakably YOU.

there is no other one that could replace this one. i had the best teen years and felt like i was rich and successful. I am so sad they did a small batch....

hotaru

I am not so sure about this one.
On me, this smells almost similar to Dior J'Adore which I'm not fond of.

It opens up as clean and crisp ozonic with a tinge of berry scent but then rapidly evolves into violet. It holds up this way and it gives me nausea although it does try to balance out with the fresh musk background and powdery freesia but this just doesnt work for me.

My aunt gave this to me as a gift. Her friend got it for her but she felt the scent was too 'young girls' on her. I wore this in my 20s until I finish the bottle. The scent is very fresh. At first i was a bit indifferent about the scent, not loving it but not disliking it.. thought to be just another floral scent. But, after a couple wears, the scent grows on me and become quite distinctive and i find it to be very "Dior Pink". I started to like it a lot! :) It seems to be more a daytime perfume for me, the scent is very youthful, fresh floral and happy. My big bottle is empty but I kept a small travel size collection as a token of memory :)

My friend just gave me this perfume as my birthday gift. Lol I don't even know that this perfume is limited edition before I read this site. First to third time I sprayed it, it smelled like cough syrup. But the 4th time and so on, my nose become accostumed and it smells fresh, sweet, and light. But sadly, when I spray it on my skin it didn't stay long :( It stays longer when I spray it on my clothes.

I bought this fragrance on my way to Australia. It reminds me of exotic times and I think Dior should revisit this fragrance and do a larger re-lauch! It is uplifting and cheery!

This perfume is suitable especially for young girls, being very sweet and fruity.

My father bought me & I didn't even know it was limited until I read Fragrantica :p
Love you, Dad! And love this fragrance ^^

Jillzilla

The opening was promising on my skin, sheer and green. I didn't detect any cranberry. Unfortunately, Chris 1947 quickly morphed into a very sharp, sheer floral. I can't say it's any particular note in this case, but overall it smelled completely wrong on me.

I get this from my Singapore friend at 2002,He bought this for me as a surprise gift and i like it but not love it.

Jolien

Smelled this from a friend who just snuck out some sprays from her mom's. Totally liked it! It was fresh and clean as if you just naturally smelled really nice, without effort. Been meaning to buy since then but can't find one. So sad.

sandratj

this was a gift from my cousin at this smells like a party girl
rockz!!

This frag was NOT green on me...It started out as a pretty floral, and then after about 3 hrs, turned into a cheap smelling, old-fashioned scent...I'm disappointed, but that's the way it is with some of these fragrances...Hit or miss...!

vertigo

It's a nice fragrance, fresh and green, but I don't get ANY of the notes mentioned ;) Just one, harmonious, slightly tart accord.
Really hard to describe what it smells of, but I strongly agree with nathalieZ & ruxxy :)
I must say, it didn't impress me very much and the staying power was weak - but it's pleasant.

princess45

I have this perfume I never sprayed it, becuase I know if I dod I would waste the bottle, but I have it in a case. I never smelled it either, I wonder.....

ruxxy

Passionflower

I love it!!! It's such a shame it's been discontinued, I hope I can still buy it somewhere.
