Musk No.3 by Bath and Body Works smells incredibly similar to this gem and for it to be a body spray it lasts a decent amount of time.
You can get the body spray for as low as $5, give it a try!

@Hilary Duff bring this fragrance back and I swear you will instantly make millions of dollars from all the people who miss this scent! I am now 30yo and forever chasing the dragon of this perfume, which was my signature scent throughout high school (until whenever my big bottle ran out). Idk if I was just personally too obsessed with it, but I thought this was a great year-round fragrance. The mangosteen blossom was lovely and floral for spring/summer and the amber/musk was deep enough for autumn/winter. Light enough for day and complex enough for night. Bring it back Hilary, your target audience have more money to spend on perfumes now than we did in the 2000s!

This was my signature scent for a while in my early twenties. I’m a millennial and was a huge fan of Hilary Duff. I won a meet and greet opportunity with her at a local radio station when I was about 20 years old. She smelled so pretty! I told her she smelled really nice and asked what she was wearing and she said, “Oh, it’s mine!” As in, her perfume “With Love” that had released right around that time. After that, I ended up buying a bottle for myself! This is such a beautiful, warm, cozy fragrance and I’m sad that it’s so hard to find now. I’d definitely purchase this again. Definitely reminds me more of a fall fragrance!

vanilla-y and fruity on top, DIAPER-Y on the bottom

I have a 50ml bottle of this, a bit more than 50% left, that I want to sell. DM me an offer.

I went to an estate sale this past weekend (21 Oct 2023), and I was able to buy 12 vintage/ discontinued/ HTF perfumes that was used for $45 for the box. A 3.3 oz bottle of "With Love" was in it! I didn't hesitate to purchase it, because I've been hunting for another one of these since I used mine up a couple years ago.

This one aged reasonably well, since it was discontinued about 10 years ago. I smell mostly ambery vanilla woods and less "tropical", and I couldn't be happier about it.

k14vj0

From what I've read on Google, this fragrance has been discontinued since 2011. I don't really know what happened to Wrapped With Love, but I'm guessing that was discontinued earlier by Elizabeth Arden, but since With Love did better, they wanted to give it a chance, that being until 2011, when they probably stopped producing it and put out the last sets and boxes they had.

Nowadays, this fragrance is VERY hard to find, at least at a normal price. Prices go from $99 to $250. Yes, you read it right. I once saw a set of a 3.4 oz bottle, lotion and a candle for $250. Crazy.

Lucky for us, there is a family owned business, who recreate discontinued fragrances and I think they do a pretty good job. This is not a promo or something, just wanted to help y'all out.

Their name is Fragrance Revival, and they're really underrated from what I've seen. So go show them so love, but most importantly, get your With Love bottle for $99.99. I think it's worth it. It's their best-seller! If you want to, go check them out at fragrancerevival.com

AGAIN,THIS IS NOT AN AD! JUST WANTED TO HELP THE COMMUNITY!

This was my first "big girl" perfume that my mom bought me back in the 2000s. I remember loving it! Bring this back, please. :')

A.Rios06

Mannn I use to LOVE this perfume so much. It was sooo unique unlike anything i ever had. I got it as a gift for my HS graduation and i instantly fell in love. I would get so many compliments. Its such a bummer that its discontinued.

luanneog

Ripe fruit, juicy amber, sweet and tangy, tart, warm, citrus, not gourmand at all, tropical, woody, somewhat like apple. A bit powdery, floral, mature. Crisp, kind of spicy, very unique, exotic and complex. I've never smelt anything like it before. I remember it being my first grown up perfume. I was complimented and stopped many times while wearing it back in the day. I recently found a mini bottle through Ebay and I still love it and find it very eccentric. Very disappointed that it's discontinued.

Lipsticksuzie

I blind bought this due to reading these reviews and managed to find a 30ml for £40 on eBay. I have to say it’s stunning. Really tropical, but not in the traditional suntan lotion and cocktails sense. Soft, floral, and woodsy, with tropical fruits.
I’m almost angry at myself for seeking this one out knowing full well it’s discontinued. I don’t know why I torment myself by doing these things! Now I’m on the hunt for more bottles! I’d love to find somewhere in the UK that does a clone of this, but the few clones I’ve seen have been in the U.S. if anyone in the Uk knows of a good clone or anywhere in the EU actually please message me and put me out my misery.

mrsrosey65

I started wearing this when it came out my junior/senior year of college. I got LOTS of compliments from the guys wearing it, which coming from the frat boys/military guys I was around at the time I'd assume that it must have smelled very good. I do remember liking it a lot. I think I bought it at Macy's or Dillard's. I do remember using it up completely which isn't a typical thing for me.

Ground hound

Great value for such an exotic spicy and complex fragrance. Sweet, peppery, floral- surprisingly good and complex.
Reminds me of Rouge Saray by Atelier des Ors

jammiy

i had this when i was a kid in my disney/hillary duff phase and i want this perfume back so bad. i was too young, i took her for granted, i miss her. marc jacobs perfect reminds me of this scent but no one could ever be her.

chicagogirl

Found my OLD bottle from fall of 2009. She was one of my first "grown up" perfumes when I started college. I remember finding a set at Marshalls and buying it because it was really all I could afford as an 18 yr old. I only ended up using about 1/4th of the bottle because this started a perfume obsession for me and I ended up buying way more and she was cast to the side lol. It's so hard to even describe this because it's so UNIQUE. It has a niche vibe for sure. Spicy, oriental with a subtle sweetness but not fruity or gourmand. Almost like a burnt sugar woody note. I wish this would come back because now I dont even wanna use my 3/4 full bottle!!

Notes to self, but also to anyone else who might be interested:

Articles written in 2006 or 2007 about With Love compare it to Betsey Johnson by Betsey Johnson and one even mentions a detected balsam and incense note.

Similar Perfume #1 - Katy Perry Indi Visible - After a few minutes (after what I assume is the rum fades), there's a similar warmth and creaminess (from the coconut and tonka beans maybe?). Not tropical-sweet, not woody in the right way. I'm pretty satisfied with Indi Visible if I'm craving With Love.

Combination #1 - Betsey Johnson by Betsey Johnson with Le Monde Gourmand/Urban Outfitters's Lait de Coco - I was pleasantly surprised. It's similar in the warmth, creaminess, and sweetness of With Love. BUT it's a little too candy/praline-sweet and it's lacking that mangosteen-tropical-y-ness. Not particularly *spiced* the way With Love is. Not the right cocobolo-woodiness.

Similar Perfume #2 - Butterflies by Coleen Rooney - This is discontinued, so I wonder when my specific bottle (purchased 2022) was manufactured (it launched in 2010 and I threw the packaging away, oops). Maybe my bottle is quite old, so something about it is the tiniest bit.. off/faded, as if it's a scent in a slightly aged bottle of lotion lol For what it is, I'm still happy with it though. This one makes me think of With Love only because of the amber, nutmeg, and pepper. I might try layering this with other ones.

Similar Perfume #3 - Far Away Exotic by Avon - Buy at your own risk - I hesitate to say that the bottle I got off of Ebay has gone "rancid", but the tropical notes have dissipated. The notes listed looked SO promising. Basically the bottle I have is now just a.. spicy patchouli.

Similar Perfume #4 - Mmmm... by Juliette Has a Gun - I can see how some people say this smells similar - even my best friend/roommate who remembers disliking With Love in 2008 was reminded of it and said it was similar. To me, the raspberry was sweet in the wrong way. That, and the sweetness from the caramel is almost old-lady-ish (like old lady makeup/fragranced face powder? idk). These two notes with the vanilla are almost a plastic-y mix, completely lacking the depth that comes from amber and sophistication from the cocobolo wood.

Combination #2 - Layered in this order: Katy Perry Indi Visible, then a few minutes later, Betsey Johnson by Betsey Johnson, Le Monde Gourmand Lait de Coco, then a few minutes later, Radiant Nectar by Clean Reserve. Radiant Nectar really amps up everything else. Somehow it adds that extra *something* that mimics that sophistication that With Love had. I think maybe the muskiness of it rounds out the combination of the other perfumes and gives the others that floral-woodiness that they kind of lack.

Edit - I resprayed Radiant Nectar after about an hour, then I smelled it against what I have left of the With Love lotion. This combination smells the most similar only when Radiant Nectar is still somewhat freshly sprayed. Even so, With Love is still "sparkle"-ier, almost boozey. I re-read some reviews/articles from when it was released - one of them mentions notes that are not on Fragrantica - balsam and incense. A long time ago, I remember seeing "incense" listed, maybe even "champagne", as notes. Also, Fragrantica has "terpenic" listed under the "main accords" section. So, while I always thought that the sharp, sparkly note that I've been missing in my combinations was fruit/mangosteen - now I think it's balsam. Which feels right; this came out in autumn, and I wore it well into winter and it always did feel like it fit the holiday season. The search continues!

Combination #3 - Katy Perry Indi Visible and Katy Perry Killer Queen. Killer Queen has that dark fruit, almost masculine vibe going on. Pairs well with Indi Visible's creaminess. Would recommend for similar With Love vibes.

Next thing to try: "Inspired by With Love by Hilary Duff" fragrance oil from perfume-oils.com

amandanicole13

The most amazing scent ever. So unique too, the mix of tropical and spices is such a good combo. It’s hard to find a tropical scent that isn’t too sweet, and I have trouble finding any that aren’t coconut-forward. Glad I found this online, even if it was the reformulated version. Definitely gonna need a second bottle!

laukin911

I need this perfume back. So sad I didn't create a better stock. I ordered what I could too late and they were reformulated bottles. :(

Anyone have dupes. I need her back.

Deandrewx

This perfume needs to come back so sad it’s discontinued.

Sunshine_jaybird

This perfume was AMAZING!!! Wish this would come back, i would stock up like no tomorrow!

SmoothMoonlight

This is wonderful. I was given a bottle when it first came out. I still have a big bottle left. To me it makes me think of sand dunes, driftwood and sweet hay. I was wearing it the other day and my 4 year old exclaimed "Mum! You smell like golden flowers!" So there you go. Golden flowers it is.

laukin911

Ugh I miss this perfume so much... one of the most unique classy celebrity fragrances. A warm intoxicating vanilla smelling amber. One of my highschool boyfriends thought it was masculine but I think he was just immature LOL

cyyong29

I had two bottles of this many years ago and I missed it sometimes (along with good old memories), sadly I couldn't find it at my country anymore.

Fast forward to now, I tried Bath and Body Works' Sunrise Wood by chance and surprisingly it is reminiscent to With Love! Not the exact same scent but very familiar due to similar warm and woody notes, so I bought the Sunrise Wood at the end.

PumpkinVanillaCoffee1992

My signature perfume (or at least it used to be..) now my bottle is so low I only spray on my wrist every once in a while when I want to reminisce..
Rumors are one of the ingredients was banned so that's one of the reasons it isn't made any more and why there isn't anything more similar to it available..maybe it's the Cocobolo? There are no other perfumes with this note listed on Fragrantica.
It's such a beautiful spicy amber scent...a little tropical, mangosteen (the queen of fruit according to Queen Victoria) and the elusive cocobolo...
Classic and mysterious.
And appropriate for a wide age group, suitable for every season and time of day. It doesn't have any strange out of place notes, it's simple in a good way, not obnoxious, not trying too hard.
I never got to try Wrapped With Love...I bet I would have loved that one too. :(

helenearne

To this day my favorite perfume. I wore it in my late teens, and was KNOWN for this perfume - everyone loved it. It's spicy and warm, and so elegant. Wish there was a good similar perfume out there!

Dhayana

This would be my signature perfume if they wouldn't had discontinued it. The tropical warm spiciness is blended and balanced to perfection
EXOTIC BEAUTY
10/10

Nickj3216

a spicy cocobolo fragrance with amber i have a 100ml, 30ml bottle with 150ml body lotion and i use most of the time the lotion after it smells exactly the same it’s a spicy fragrance but it can be used anytime of the year this is my favourite fragrance and i just brought another body lotion already because it’s hard to find but glad to have this in my collection 10/10

Sunshine_jaybird

Not sure why i can not find this beauty anywhere, but this perfume is absolutely amazing!!! I am unsure why others do not care for this one, but to me, i would stock up if i could find it.

I agree with @emt1986 even though her review is almost 4 years old. I also bought a brand new bottle 50ml for 31.99 from urbanexpress2008 which is now under offpriceparfums on ebay. The bottle I got is good, and hasn't gone bad, my issue is in Summer is the lasting power which isn't more than a few hours at least on me. I can really smell the spiced mangosteen as it starts to dry down. I did have this perfume before, but it's been around 5 years since I have smelled it. I don't know why they won't bring this perfume back it makes no sense to me. I really believe that this perfume would sell better now, then it did back then. This perfume reminds me of her Stranger music video, that's what I think of when I smell this perfume. This is one of the most unique celebrity perfumes. I really don't understand why certain celebrity perfumes get discontinued when some of them are really special like this one is. With Love is one of the best oriental perfumes I have ever smelled.

nurhika.yasmin

A hard pass for me. The spices & mangosteen combo is a nightmare for a hot & humid weather here in Malaysia. I tried very hard to love this perfume but it simply didn’t work for me. The box is lovely though.

Nickj3216

I really like this perfume I can smell a lot of the Mangosteen in it. I only have the 30ml in this and I haven’t even used it because it’s discontinued and hard to get I hope to find a another one so I can use this it smells so nice just from the sprayer. 😻 I brought this as a blind buy.

raerrr

A tropical wood! I felt so sophisticated every wear. I have never smelled another like it. In regards to memory recall this would be a mash up of sipping on a vemma verve energy drink and hanging out at my dad's custom wood shop. Spiced mangosteen and freshly cut hardwood. But if I'm being real, it never would have mattered what this smelled like, I was gonna buy it. Hilary Duff was and still is my role model. I so wish I could use this again. I've been afraid to buy one as most of the reviews seem to be of spoiled bottles.

SuperSueChick

Blind buy based on reviews out of curiosity.
Nope, this will be a hard pass for me!
Thankfully I only paid less than $10 online.
I agree with trixiesalamander's comment below. This too does not agree with my chemistry.
I don't get tropical at all.
The •'Sweetness' I find is of an extremely ripe banana that was forgotten on the kitchen island before the family vacation. Only to find that it now has fruit flies surrounding it, and you don't want that spoiled gooey liquid to get on you as you pick it up to toss it. Then it breaks off, and ugh, yuck!
The •'Woody' scent I get is that of walking up an old musty/moldy wooden porch of that neighbor the kids are afraid of knocking on when they lose their ball or Frisbee in their yard.
As the adult, you kind of agree with the kids. Yet you tell the kids not to be silly, mind their manners, and you knock on their door.
Its an old woman in her 80s, probably. She seems nice. She invites you in. You don't want to but you don't want to be rude. So you walk in and stand by the door.
Her house is darkish, cold, and somewhat smells like her front door porch. Her house is filled with Amber •'Caramelized' decor throughout. 70s style embroidered see-through curtains letting a glimpse of sunlight inside. You notice she has weeks old •'Flowers' on her coffee table with most of them dried up. She hasn't changed the water and its now some foggy greenish concoction looking liquid with crunchy fallen off petals on the table.
You hear a cat in her kitchen knocking down an empty can of cat food as the cat leaps to grab a bird in a bird cage with newspapers needing to be changed.
Ugh, its so muggy and stale in there. You can just feel your allergies starting to act up.
Thankfully she comes back with the kid's ball and she hands it to you with a smile.
She smells •'Powdery' from some perfume of her younger years.
You thank her for her time and trouble, and once again apologize for the kids.
You walk away, turn around wave at her. You hand over the ball to the kids and quickly go back to your house to shower and get that gunky smell and experience off of you.
You're glad it was you and not the kids.
Oy vey! Can't believe how uncomfortable this perfume made me feel.

trixiesalamander

This does not agree with me. The mangosteen is the problem I think. I’ve never smelled mangosteen before but I don’t think it for me. My chemistry make it smell like fruit that’s so ripe its’s almost starting to rot. I’m bummed about it!

kandykiller

I love this woodsy, sweet, full of life kind of scent...great everyday scent, all the notes blended in this absolute awesomeness, its unique& i havent been able to find one like this since....long lost love,if they could bring this gem back& make it last longer, one of its kind, she named it right....with love!!!!

Sweetfemme

This was the best perfume ever! Long lasting sweet and feminine uhg I miss it! I would love to own this again!!!!

Ah, With Love by Hilary Duff. Along with some other Britney Spears offerings, this fragrance makes me so nostalgic for my adolescence. My cousins and I received With Love as a Christmas gift when we were about 12 years old. This fragrance brings to mind a family holiday we took over the summer to Noosa, a gorgeous beachside holiday spot in Queensland, Aus. My cousins and I all packed our treasured bottle of With Love for the trip and wore it religiously; it seemed the perfect scent to accompany us throughout our sun-drenched trip. If I had've been able to see into the future and realise it would be discontinued, I would have cherished each and every drop. Even though it's been over a decade since I've owned this, I can still smell it. I can still recall it vividly in my mind. I wouldn't be surprised if it came across as a bit of a polarising fragrance: I noticed someone else commented saying they could smell varnish, and I can definitely understand that. The initial spray of With Love always came across as quite strong, acrid, and acidic to perfume-novice 12 year old me - a bit like nail polish, wood varnish, or paint. Somehow, and I don't know how - this worked. It opened with a sharp blast, but quickly settled into this delicious tropical scent - I could smell papaya, pineapple, and mango. With Love really was a multi-dimensional juice, because once those fruity notes settled, I detected a third wave of notes; specifically amber, and maybe a touch of musk or patchouli.
Another thing to be said about With Love - I adore the bottle. I think it's gorgeous. I'm a bit of a sucker for simple, classic, high-end-looking flacons, and this multi-faceted weighted glass bottle ticks that box. It looks much more expensive than it actually is, and would look gorgeous on a bedside table or dresser. I'll just sit here and wait patiently until this perfume gets re-released (a girl can dream)!

Anamandy

I picked up a mini edp and moisturizer set on a whim from a discount store. It looked like it was something that was sold at one time as a stocking stuffer. It was clearly old stock that the store put out to get rid of after Christmas. I figured I didn't have much to lose as it was less than $2 bucks for the set. The mini perfume itself smells like it had spoiled. That top note shot smell of varnish never went away no matter how many hours on my wrist, but the moisturizer is a different story. Very strong scent, as if I had just sprayed myself with fresh parfum. While I'm not a particular fan of the scent, finding it a little too perfumy for my tastes, I can confirm Mdox407's claim that this smells very fresh and like a really strong perfume. I used a dot and rubbed it into my hands and even after washing my hands numerous times since, (Covid, ya know), I can still smell it clearly as if I had just applied perfume. So, for those who don't want to take the risk of purchasing the perfume because it might be spoiled, this is a great alternative. Out of curiosity, I just checked out the prices for the moisturizer on eBay, and it is more than reasonable too. If I loved the scent I wouldn't hesitate to stock up.

Someone mentioned this fragrance in another review, and it unlocked a memory I forgot I had. I can smell this perfume in my mind! Being a huge Hilary Duff fan, I received With Love as a gift for my 12th birthday. I was so delighted with how grown up and "fancy" it smelled. And that faceted crystal bottle was gorgeous, the centerpiece on the top of my dresser.

I remember so well how rich, decadent, and mature it smelled compared to my fruity little Bath and Body Works and Bodycology sprays I had at the time. It's surprising that Hilary's team went that direction with it, considering the age of her fanbase. But I'm so glad they did, because that's what makes it so distinctly memorable.

I feel so intensely nostalgic for it that I just ordered a small deadstock bottle on eBay. I will update my review when it arrives and let you all know if it has stood the test of time!

UPDATE: I just received the perfume, and I'm thrilled. It's EXACTLY like I remember it! I saw so many comments from people who bought an old bottle only to find out the fragrance had aged badly, and I was so worried that would be the case with mine. But it's perfect! If anyone else is interested, I ordered a mini dabber bottle from the Ebay seller "rubbersidedown2015." They have a few more for sale, for a really reasonable price too.

Now that I'm smelling this perfume again as an adult, I can give a better review of it. First of all, the longevity is great. I put it on about 8 pm, and could still smell it on my skin at 10 am the next morning. It's a warm and decadent fragrance, and it smells so complex despite the minimal notes. They just blend and complement each other perfectly, and even though the scent is rich, it isn't heavy or overbearing. It's warm, woody, and alluring. The spices are there, but they're subtle. It's not the sort of spicy that can burn your nose and overpower all the other notes. With Love is a fragrance that would be sexy worn by any gender. I can't believe I rocked this as a 12 year old; it's so much better suited for adults.

It's a 10/10 for me! Couldn't be more perfect.

jodee4999

Best perfume I've ever smelled. There is nothing like this around its that unique and I've seen people compare it and favor it to their 100 dollar plus designer perfumes its like a community all of us who share love for this fragrace I wonder if miss duff has any idea we still long for this perfume the way the man in her with love music video longed for her when he smelled it on her the bottle is quite unique as well very vintage and angelic the shape of the bottle and the way the light hits it I never had the pleasure of owning this perfume smelling my moms strong perfumes over the years kinda put me off to perfumes lol I've only ever owned 2 baby phat golden goddess by kimora lee simmons and britney spears midnight fantasy (my second favorite with love is my first) which brings me to my second point while smelling it although I am 26 now and the last time I smelled with love I was 11 I have come to the conclusion that I see and smell a few notes in common with baby phat golden goddess and with love at least in the powdery aspect I have not seen anyone else compare the two and while my knowledge and experience is limited and i have not tried any other dupes yet I feel it is somewhat close maybe not the closest but it kinda gives me the same feeling if anyone stubles across golden goddess give it a try and let me know if you feel the same

Samsonite313

With love is one of my all time favorite fragrances. I’ve been looking for a dupe for years because this fragrance doesn’t age well(although my 5 ml splash does still smell nice, just slightly off). After a very long and expensive journey, the closest I’ve tried is Katy Perry indi and Juliette has a Gun mmmm. Indi is the coconutty muskier version of with love. I don’t like it as much as with love, but it does the job. Mmmm is a powdery gourmand version in the dry down. I didn’t get similarities in the initial spray, but it’s definitely there in the dry down.

Update: comparing them again, I don’t find my newest decant of mmmm Resembles with love at all. Perhaps it’s been reformulated.
Sandalwood in oak by Scents of Wood is closer in the dry down to with love than indi or Mmmm. In my opinion.

miarose

I still have my bottle...I just never could get rid of it even though it wasn't something that was easy for me to wear. The notes are so unusual, and it's a delicious scent of spicy, warm sweetness. Celebrity scents can be difficult to sell, and I would never had associated Hilary Duff with this scent. But I bought it based on the notes, and from reviews from others. I'm glad I hung onto it. It is definitely deteriorating, even though I stored it properly. I sprayed out the liquid near the nozzle, and though it's better, it's still obviously turning. No one else has made a scent with this heady combo of cocobolo wood and mangosteen, that I know of, and this one belongs to a niche line. In fact, I dearly hope a niche line reproduces this scent again, with ingredients that will not deteriorate so quickly. I have so many regrets about fragrances that I let go for one reason or another (I'm looking at you, VW Boudoir and Libertine), so I'm very glad I kept this one.

Mdox407

For any of you interested...my review is 8 reviews below. I'm writing this for all my fellow frag-heads who love this perfume but are like me and miss it dearly. In the last year I've bought FOUR different bottles of this perfume and ALL four of them have turned and smelled absolutely rancid.

It all of a sudden dawned on me that (of course it won't be the same strength)...but that I can still enjoy this perfume the way I remember it if I just buy the lotion! I hopped on Ebay and searched "Hilary Duff Lotion" and a couple dozen listings for this "With Love" body lotion came right up. And for cheap. I think I got a big 5oz bottle of the scented lotion for like $11 or $12. And it worked like a charm! Smells EXACTLY how I remember it. A mark that all of the bottles I purchase keep missing.

Just thought I'd share this little tip with you guys. It isn't the same as spraying the perfume in the same way that using one of the tiny "dab" decant bottles isn't the same as spraying the scent. However...for whenever I'm craving the scent...it does satisfy my craving and the scent lasts on my arms and neck for a good 3-4 hours. I sometimes use it during the day but I usually prefer to spray my scents...so more often I use the With Love lotion at night and fall asleep to it. I miss this perfume so much. Please bring it back!!! We're desperate and NOTHING else on the market smells like it! NOTHING!

Chellywellie

The BEST perfume ever made. HANDS DOWN.

I went through bottles of this stuff when I was younger. It was the perfect mix of spicy vanilla with enough amber to add an edge while holding it back from being oriental. It was young yet mature, unique yet a definite compliment getter. I haven’t found anything remotely close yet but I will definitely be trying some of the recommendations in your reviews (thank you for those!)

Gutted that this stuff has been discontinued. Though I can always tempt myself with the £50 bottle on eBay that has likely gone off by now.... *sigh*

KittyDeBeauvoir

Hilary Duff surprised us all with this unique perfume.

Don't be fooled by the girly, cut-glass, pretty bottle - This perfume was made for a woman / man who cares for something more beneath the surface.

A powerful, warm, spice-mingling, juicy-fruity, wooded, musky amber. A mouthful (or noseful), but worth testing out.

I have such mad respect for mangosteen. A gorgeous, juicy, deep red-purple fruit from Asia that STAINS like red wine on a wedding dress. It does have an airy, super-juicy (almost pungent) aspect to it. Combining that with spices is a powerful, nose-smacking blend that intrigues. It's probably a slow grower on most people because it is just so unexpected.

With all the spices, mangosteen, wood, and amber (with its slight honeyed and rich resin smell); you'd be forgiven for thinking you just stepped into a busy smoky kitchen. It's almost 'gourmand' in that sense.

I'll admit - I don't crave this fragrance...until I wear it.
I then spend the day catching my own sillage, grabbing my collar and smelling myself. In my humble opinion, probably more of a "night-time" scent due to the warm, woody spiciness to it, but I wear it all day.
I can't help it.

I'm so annoyed this is discontinued. What garbage decision-making.

Sooo good! This was the first fragrance that I actually finished a whole bottle of. It's just so warm, pretty yet sexy. Perfect for all occasions.

I have looked for a dupe for YEARS and Mmm by Juliette has a gun is darn near PERFECT.

JSpines

I like this one. It is quite strong so you don't need to spray much on. Two sprays should be adequate. The scent is warm, rich and sweet. Quite delicious smelling actually. Reminds me of a decadent dessert. It's a cozy scent that envelopes your senses. I find it totally unisex. This perfume is hard to find in retail stores here in Canada. I found two bottles (30ml.) for 39.97 each plus tax at a department store in a neighboring town. There were only three bottles and it looked like old stock so it was like finding hidden treasure. I'm sure most peoples best bet will be to find this scent online. If you're not afraid of a heavier scent, you may want to give this one a try.

Malibu

This used to be one of my favourite perfumes, but it is the only one I've ever owned that will 'go off' after the bottle has been open a while, and it will need to be thrown out after a few years as the scent turns into rotten fruit.

Don't bother tracking down bottles online, as I've found that the age of the perfume effects the aroma without the packaging having been opened beforehand - I've tried a fair few times and have no luck in finding one with a pleasant-smelling juice.

clairedot

This is my all time favourite perfume! I got it at a 15 year old and nobody I knew liked it but I was obsessed!!
I unfortunately got rid of all my out of date bottles, which I wish I had kept just for a reminder of it, so I just knew I had to smell it again!

I managed to win a sealed bottle on eBay and it arrived today, I haven’t been so excited in ages!!

Smelling it bought back so much nostalgia! It’s amazing and such a gorgeous scent!

Can someone please tell me why they discontinued it? I’ve heard some of the ingredients were banned? Is this true?

maci2222

Trying out an old sample of this. It is terrific! An initial burst of spices moves quickly to flowers and strong vanilla base. I can't get a lot of musk. It is a mature sweet floral vanilla, completely hooked!

Update: So I went and got an old bottle of this off ebay, and I believe it has gone off as it smells of strong butterscotch and I cannot stomach it. So might take a few tries to get a good one.

Amazing and unexpecting. Hilary Duff is one of the few celebrities I've always loved. Unlike the likes of Demi Lovato, Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber, etc...we've never seen a Hilary Duff that is falling out of bars drunk, doing drugs, no mugshots etc. She's always been such a well-rounded, respectable, beautiful, perky, sweet, kind-mannered person who grew gracefully from childhood star to amazing artist, actress, and Mother.

The only reason I'm even mentioning that is...that's what makes this fragrance so unexpecting. You would've assumed years ago that she would've released a tooth-ache sweet scent like Ariana Grande's line, Britney Spears Fantasy, or another of the hundreds of Viva La Juicy clone type of perfumes. Especially because she was only like 19 or 20 years old when this was released! So it's a shock (a pleasant one)...that they didn't decide to go with the obvious move that would've made them the most money which would've most likely been to release something along the lines of what I just mentioned for her (mostly teen) fans.

So since I've always been a fan of hers...I bought this shortly after it was released. I love this fragrance. Absolutely love it. However...fast forward to 2020 and this perfume was released in 2006 and only in production for a few years. Of the 200-300 perfumes that I own (since I started collecting about 11-12 years ago)...I don't even think I own currently, or have ever owned even 5 perfumes that "turned" as we call it, no matter the age of the bottle. But after using about 2-3 of the biggest 3.4 ounce bottles...I started to notice that every bottle I've purchased since then had turned. (Which was around 2014 or so to current. You could smell the DNA of the perfume...but it smelled rotten.

It is now Feb 2020 and on my quest to find one that still smells the same as when it was released...I just purchased another bottle online that specifically stated that it's been stored in a cool, dry, and dark place...and it should be arriving in the next 2-3 days. I hope desperately that this one hasn't turned bad like the past several bottles I have bought unfortunately did.

As for the scent itself...this one evokes confidence. This one is for a woman, not a 10 year old girl. I actually tend to find it quite unisex. It's a woody, spiced amber perfume with a beautiful warm musk base. This is so cozy. Sweet but not in a sugar way. This one is so beautiful. Deep.

In my opinion...for those of you who like Adam Levine's female fragrance...this is the superior, better smelling, better quality relative to that one.

Oh how I wish they would bring this back into production. Maybe we'll get lucky and she'll pull a Kate Walsh move and bring it back to life. The bottle is definitely easy on the eyes too.

Longevity - About 8 hours.

Projection - Easily 3 feet. If generously sprayed, this thing can fill a room. I've had people 6 feet away from me tell me how amazing I smelled.

Overall Score - 9.5/10

This really is just so beautiful and unique. Hilary Duff and the perfumers REALLY took a daring move with this one. Such an incredible leap they took creating a deep, sensuous, mature perfume such as this for a 20 year old celebrity. I LOVE it! This perfume right here would be one of the few that would get a standing ovation from me.

pinnock22

God this stuff Is like cocaine to me. I had a 30ml of this a couple of years ago and gave it away for some stupid reason even though I loved it. The other day I saw on Ebay that there was a 100ml with about 85ml left in its orginal box being sold. I won the bid and got it for £30 and was so pleased.
It came today and the smell just made me smile because its so unique and spicy and I feel like it fits my personality really well. Spiced rum and warm amber with a light musk base its absolutely divine. I must be one of the lucky ones as the bottle I received hasn't spoiled yet so ill be keeping it out of the sunlight.
I'm gonna keep an eye of for more bottles of this before its gone forever. Hilary seems to be popping up more and more in the media lately so hopefully if she keeps getting asked about this along with EA they'll bring it back.

Avarie

I'm totally not sure what happened to my bottle, but it seems to have transformed from the dusty mess it used to be. I didn't get to wear this perfume in its prime, though I remember when it was released (being a little fan of Hilary Duff at the time). You bet when I went to Kohl's during Christmas time with my mom, I would sneak a spray, even though I knew it smelled more mature than I was. A little sweet, but mostly woods that I used to associate with "grown-ups." Definitely not Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works.

I've had a like-hate relationship with this one because of a bad experience with a potentially bad mini bottle purchased online, not knowing how old it was. So bad that I threw it away. An old, dusty, wet wood, pruney smell, without so much of the odor of alcohol fading off. It was literally as if I sprayed old prunes on my arm, and it never developed beyond that. It smelled nothing like the With Love tester from my memories.

Still it intrigued me - the notes, my memories, and the guilt I had over the last bottle. I gave WL another chance with a second mini bottle after another couple years, most likely old as well, and the initial results were just the same. But the bottle itself... that's why I couldn't get rid of this one again. It's one of the cutest yet most glamorous modern bottles I've seen.

I've let the bottle sit in my collection for another 2-3 years, and another winter is approaching. For kicks I tried it on again, expecting that awful dusty mess. But today is different. Beyond that creeping "prune" that wanted to attack my nose again, I smelled a really nice and clear juiciness. Now it's much sweeter than I thought it was. Then laying underneath is a distant creaminess I can't identify, along with those unmistakable woods. Lastly, as I move my arm and the smell wafts, the clean musk reaches my nose, mixed with little pulses of the juicy mangosteen. Even the smell from the atomizer has that leftover alcohol odor - but this time, it smells "fresh" as if it was a new bottle and not sitting in a box all these years. Each minute is passing and it gets better and better. I'm completely surprised, as my bottle has never lucked out on me before. I think this is how it used to smell when I sprayed it in Kohl's many years ago, and I don't know what happened to it.

A once-mainstream celeb with a very non-mainstream scent. Little did I know that Hilary was at least 10 years ahead of her time in perfumery. Seriously, if Hilary wanted to re-release this with fresh ingredients and a reinforced bottle design, it should sell much better these years. She's much older and more experienced as a woman now, so I think With Love warrants a revamp - or just a straight-up revival.

perry.do

the perfume started out as pretty spicy and woody - think an old kitchen full of spices, but then reduced to a beautiful spicy and sweet mixture. this could be marketed as unisex because there's something masculine about it too

carrico1986

For being a celebrity scent this one was totally unique. It smelled a lot more grown up and wasn't super sweet/sugary. A real beautiful amber scent. Warm and spicy with just a touch of sweetness. It's a shame they don't make it anymore.

juniemoon

I'm enjoying wearing this beautiful fragrance right now on a gorgeous, sunny warm early fall day. How perfect!

tyekristopher

I miss this fragrance !!!

dlilla

This is an interesting scent and I can see how a lot of people would like it, but in the end it just isn't for me.

It opens with a really strong licorice, which isn't bad right away. It's quite a sweet licorice. But then it goes sideways a bit with a ton of spice and herbs. It's as if you keep all your herbal teas in the spice cabinet, then just go stick your head in there and take a big whiff. Or, it's like the perfume version of Fisherman's cough drops, if you are familiar with those. I smell just as much "herbiness" in there as spice. It's a very bad outcome for me but again, I can see how others might get something different and really interesting.

SmoothMoonlight

I have worn this on and off since it first came out. I am nearly out of Shalimar so I thought I would wear this to work today and I'm glad I did. It's spicy and sweet without being over the top. It's unusual for a celebrity fragrance and one that I am not sick of after all this time. It's such a shame it was discontinued. I still have two bottles left phew.

It's great in winter and lasts very well. I can still smell it after 12 hours! It's warm and spicy. The bottle is stunning too.

RaggedyAnne

Wearing this today, and its just meh on me. I will be changing this when I get home from work for a perfume I love, life is just too short to wear something that you don't absolutely love.... and this is mediocre at best. This was a blind buy and although I don't HATE it, I feel that I wasted my money and will be either gifting it or selling it. I wish I had been able to find the 15ml bottle , then it would not be too much of a waste, but I got a 50ml bottle.

Selena

Miss Duff hear me out!!!
We need this back in Australia..

It's been years since I last smelt this, I haven't forgotten just how beautiful it smelt.

I swear if they had these back on the shelf, I'd purchase as many as I could...

Oh the good times I remember when I once had this❤️

juxtapositionjones

I have 1 bottle. It has about 5 drops left in it. I'm savouring those last drops because in Australia, I can't find it anymore. Shame that.
It's rich, warm, very sweet with femininity. Lasts forever and ever. It's as though it fades begrudgingly. It doesn't want to fade. I found this consistency reassuring.
Shame I can't find anywhere here that is still selling it. Oh Hilary.

taureanrage69

At times I blind-buy perfumes that seem interesting for either the olfactory group they fall into, or some unique notes or combination of notes. With this one, I was just so curious what mangosteen smelled like and I figured I couldn't go wrong at the price. As it turns out, this is tangy and spicy, and the tang, which is not bad but a bit sour right away, settles down to a more comfortable level after 10-15 minutes. I enjoy the rich balsamic base and longevity, on me anyway, is a good 4-6 hours. Pretty bottle and perfume which was a pleasant surprise.

ClEL

My signature from my teens. My mother still thinks this is my scent and misses it. Hilary said it ain't coming back, sadly.

justchillinxo

What a beautiful bottle and original fragrance. Best celebrity fragrance imo. Please bring it back.

Perfumedsecrets

This was surprisingly one of the most unique celeb fragrances ever made, but I had to return it years ago since it didn't last on me. It was way ahead of it's time, and it sent a message to other celebs that they didn't always have to go with a basic fruity floral in order to have their perfume sell. I like that there isn't a single floral in it and yet it's feminine. The notes are delicious and create an alluring skin scent. I just wish it had been longer lasting, and now it's discontinued. If they bring it back and more intense, I’d buy it!

AHeartLikeMine

If ginger ale and mango soda got combined into a perfume, it would smell like this. It's unexpectedly strong (must be the cocobolo note?) and not sweet. If you want something that has hints of fruit without any sugar whatsoever, this might be the fragrance for you.

erica.andruscavage

If any celebrity fragrance deserves a relaunch, it's this one. Never should have been discontinued.

Georgia.24

With Love is encased in a retro inspired brown-golden bottle which is a beauty in its own right. I was quite a fan of Hilary Duff growing up and always wanted this perfume. I finally picked this up at an affordable price of $25NZD for the gift set. The scent itself is quite woody and musky veering towards a more mature scent. It is a very earthy scent mixed with mangosteen that veers off the usual sugary sweet path most teen celebrity fragrances follow, and while it is quite strong on initial application it fades away quickly and is not long lasting. This wouldn't be an everyday scent personally as I prefer a warmer - sweet scent, but With Love is quite unique in its own way and will be a fragrance I will continuously own, if not to wear regularly but to display the elegant bottle.

Jay369

This is so unique!

SuzanneS

My bottle may have turned...just get this hairspray, odd wood note thats a little boozy. As it is its a pass for me.

k5rakitan

From reading the other reviews, I was lucky enough to get a bottle that hasn't turned. I think it's the cocobolo that makes it so unique and delicious. However, this is the ONLY perfume with cocobolo currently listed on this site. I wish they'd either re-launch this or that I could find another perfume with a cocobolo note.

ltrittipoe

This is such a pretty scent; sweet and creamy with a hint of spice. I have a tiny bottle and when I sprayed it this morning I thought I would need a big bottle at Ebay prices!

And then as it dried down I kept thinking it smelled SO familiar.... a few here say Adam Levine? No, there’s some similarity but that’s not what I was thinking. And I’m not getting any mango, so nothing fruity. I’ve never tried some of the others mentioned.

The dry down smells so much like Raghba, only lighter. That balsamic smokey sweetness, but not as powerful. And not as long lasting. After about 90 minutes, it’s fading away.

Beckyb92

It’s ok. The smell is powerful. It smells like cinnamon to me and quite potent!

gtabasso

cheap, alcohol, hairspray; mango, musk and amber but cheap and artificial; the base is bearable and deep; the base is NOT amber but cheap vanilla

savageinstrangeland

I really love this! I received this from a lovely Fragrantica member, goldenfire5... it reminds me a lot of one of my favorites, Adam Levine for women. With Love however, is much softer silage-wise and slightly sweeter. But it's great! I really love it! My husband complimented me on this fragrance as soon as he walked in the door today. Really nice if you can find a bottle that hasn't turned. But honestly, try Adam Levine as a replacement if you loved this one. They are really similar from start to finish but especially in the drydowns. I have AL on one arm and HDWL on the other and aside from the slight more sweetness and musk in With Love, you can hardly distinguish them from each other. I'm really surprised that it has been voted similar. Because it so is!

BlackAmberMoon

When I first sampled this years ago I was very impressed with its originality; smells niche. With Love is a warm, exotic oriental with a beautiful amber dry down (a bit boozy, too - cognac?). Longevity is a bit lacking, but I carry a small bottle with me and reapply in the afternoon. Will be a sad day when I run out.

btheo138

If you're a fan of With Love, try Mon Guerlain. The drydown is almost a dead ringer for this.

theperfumemaniac

Heartbroken. Hilary said she gets asked about this fragrance all the time on her social media and she said this is "long gone and in the vault" :(

HopeFloats72

I wear a different fragrance every day, and I have several in my collection. At its peak I had nearly 120 frags in rotation-I use some at certain times of the year while others are packed away in their own little chest. I just purchased this one, and after having spritzed, sprayed and dabbed it I can say that I like it. It wasn't wasted money, since it is a very nice fragrance, but I could have spent the same amount ($10 USD) for a 3.4 oz bottle of Ellen Tracy "Ellen" and gotten the same fragrance for a much lower price point. I checked the notes on the ET-Ellen review and virtually none are the same as listed for this frag. However, they could be twins, at least on my skin. I don't get the "anise" or "Licorice" so many seem to dislike from the ET-Ellen frag, but I get what I'm getting from "With Love"-a powdery woodiness that is soft and warm. There's a creamy essence to this frag (and Ellen) that I find very lovely. Neither fragrance is a powerhouse, to be sure. Ellen is something I have to quite literally cover myself in for it to project/linger on my skin. I had to do the same with this fragrance. It's all over me, in my hair, on my clothes and still comes off shy and quiet, rather than loud and proud. There is something about this fragrance "With Love" that is very feminine and innocent-it's a sweet fragrance, but not in a sugary, unsubstantial way. It's sweet with a spine, with sophistication, with some experience under its belt. There are things about this that remind me of Narciso Rodgriguez (the original) or SJP's Lovely-it's that kind of soft, musky, smoky-sweet fragrance. Think pale pink angora sweaters and satin camisoles. It's a velvety, caressing fragrance. You wish you could touch it, but...how would you touch a scent? I'd have to give the nod to With Love for it's composition-much better blended and presented than "Ellen Tracy: Ellen" however, that's kind of like seeing a Monet hanging in the Louvre or looking at a picture of a Monet hanging in the Louvre. It's the same thing, in essence, but one of them is much more enjoyable than the other.

xoxoMyke

Saccharine woods with a breezy, airy coconut and a pinch chocolate. There is a nuance of leather. In fact, when I catch nuances of this leather accord, With Love reminds me of another discontinued fragrance called Phoenix by Keith Urban, just without that the jarring lacquer/paint varnish accord.

With Love is linear from start to finish, so if you like what you smell after spraying, you'll enjoy the life of this fragrance.

Not your typical celebuscent (fruits and hyper sweetness).

corkscrewcurly

OK, I'm preparing some decants for a swap partner, one of which is Donna Karan Black Cashmere, so I was correct in my comparison, which means that WL also bears some similarities to L'Artisan Bois Farine.

The Karan is discontinued and selling on eBay for ridiculous amounts, but I think Bois Farine is still available.

corkscrewcurly

I bought this based on recommendations and reviews of other Fragranticans.

I should preface this by stating that I have no idea who Hilary Duff is; I know the name, but if I passed her on the street, I wouldn't recognise her. For this reason, I have no negative or positive associations or preconceptions at all.

This really is one of the most unusual celebrity scents I have ever smelled, way WAY off the usual sweet-fruity-floral beaten track. It's predominantly a spicy, woody fragrance with a slight fruitiness, supported by amber. A mild non-animalic musk (not a cheap laundry type) appears at the very end of the dry-down.

WL smells niche - it really is THAT good - and it wouldn't be out of place in the L'Artisan house.

This definitely reminds me of something, but I am struggling to pin down the memory. L'Artisan Bois Farine? DK Black Cashmere? I'll update when it comes to me; at the moment it's dancing just out of my reach.

Definitely unisex (although I don't subscribe to gender assignation in perfume, I thought this may be helpful to some people). NOT a safe blind buy, but it's discontinued and prices are creeping up on eBay; if you buy and find you don't like it, chances are you'll be able to swap/sell on easily enough - potentially at a profit.

Sillage is moderate, longevity on my skin *just* scrapes into the moderate range, but my skin is dry and sucks up perfume.

ETA: I've just checked out the noses responsible for this; Rodrigo Flores-Roux is also responsible for Donna Karan's Black Cashmere - this is interesting as it is one of the perfumes to which I thought this may be similar. Hmmm.

_christine_

I keep hoping that With Love will be relaunched now that Hilary Duff has a hit show.

This is one of my favorite fragrances and one that always gets compliments. It's different and very lovely. People always ask about it and I have to report that it is sadly discontinued.

With Love would absolutely fit with Rodrigo Flores-Roux best work for the niche brand, Arquiste. There are these lovely balances - sweet balanced with spice and wood balanced with fruit. With Love is a beauty.

kati77

Warm and light mix of mango with spices and exotic flower. Oriental but not too much. The mango and fruit plus amber give a great effect, the spices are not too strong here, they do not overpower. Unusual scent. This perfume I sampled 2 times before I bought 100 ml. Good deal.

FuchsiaMamma

Gorgeous! I grabbed 3 mini bottles for 6$ each on Fragrancenet and I'm glad I did.
The notes listed are incorrect and it seems they should be as follows:
Milk, Fruit, Mangosteen, Musk, Flower, Exotic Spices, Amber, Cocobolo Wood.

With Love starts really boozie on me, a smell of cognac; it's sophisticated, warm, woody and spicy in an oriental way - not a Christmasy way. It's a bit dark - reminds me of Roberto Cavalli Nero Assoluto somehow, not necessarily a dupe, but it gives me the same vibe. I think I will enjoy this gem even more this fall and winter.

Madrona

Warm, softly spicy, not very sweet for a celeb offering but the opening has a certain fruitiness that dissipates rather quickly. You're mostly left with a heap of dark, polished wood and bright amber. Sunkissed skin after a day at the beach, breezy subdued tropical perfection. This is signature scent material, really, it's very personal and very enticing. Allure in olfactory form.

terrance*michigan

@artisy wow! Thank you! MANGOSTEEN not mango. That makes so much sense now. I've always liked the scent but could never figure out what it smelt like- I've been searching for the non-existent mango note for a long time lol

Now I know that it smells like spicy, sweet mangosteen on a woody base. Moderate silage and longevity. Day or night scent and wearable in all seasons, but preferably Autumn.

This is the first scent I bought for myself. I wanted to use it up the other year, but since I found out it was discontinued I want to hang onto it.

KarlekLila

@ artsy:

Finally! Someone who feels as I do about this scent and leaves an accurate review of the notes (which are listed wrongly on Fragrantica). I left a similar review further down. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in my admiration for this scent. I managed to find a full 3.4 oz in giftset with lotion on ebay for cheap about a year ago that I've been hoarding. If you'd like a few decants It'd be my pleasure. :D

artisy

There comes a time in a young adult's life where they are drawn to owning more than fragrance mists and want pretty glass bottles instead of colorful spritzes. When that happened to me, I was in my late teens and could only budget something in the celebrity price range.

It was kismet that among all the generic fruity floral contenders at the time, this one happened to appeal to my nose AND had a clearance tag on it. Win win.

It was strong, it was sensual, it was not shy, and it gave me the boost I wanted and was different enough to be my signature scent.

Fragrantica needs to update that it is MANGOSTEEN, not mangos. It's a lot like lychee but with more musk and creamy tartness.

Unfortunately, like the Disney channel star behind this, it had its moment of glory and that was it. One flanker I believe? And poof. If Hilary has reinvented herself I think it's time for her to maybe mix up another deliciously fragrant fume or rekindle this one. I would buy it in a heartbeat...

I would do almost anything for them to start making this again. I still dearly love it and now I am reduced to .05 bottles in limited supply.

BlackAmberMoon

If you can find a well preserved bottle, buy it. It's lovely. It's not super sweet and girly, but an exotic oriental that is sexy and sophisticated. A great surprise from a celebrity fragrance.

freddinos

This perfume doesn't age well I'm afraid.
Have purchesed it on two separate occasions and both times it was spoilt, and I couldn't understand why the rave reviews.
Until a member here sent me a decant that was unspoilt. Beautiful spicy unisex woody fragrance. Too bad it's like a lottery whether one will find a good bottle or not..

AirHale

@Wassim Gharbi True! I thought I was seeing things or going crazy after I saw the mango note listed. I remember clearly the mangosteen note like a year ago.

CelebrityPerfumeLover

Fragrantica got the notes wrong again... There's no mango and mango blossom in this fragrance. There is MANGOSTEEN in the top instead of the mango and there is MANGOSTEEN BLOSSOM in the heart instead of the mango blossom. There's a difference between mango and mangosteen...

socorrosouza

If it is darker, that is a sure sign that the perfume has turned. Nowadays, even 1-year old scents have been turning on me. Yes , it is Brazil, with extreme heat, but 1-year old perfumes should last longer. Blame it on the lack of quality materials used on With Love.

blake.lee

@paris I recently purchased a small bottle that had turned and was awful so it's not you.

Mrs.Allard

This smells like an unlit cigarette- Camel Number 9 menthol (the ones in the black and turquoise pack with the hot pink foil). It's not a yucky smell like a lit cigarette, it's an interesting smell for a perfume, and a captivating smell for an ex smoker like me. I can't stand this on my skin (because I feel like I can't get away from it) but I do like to sniff the bottle every now and then.

Meggers McBeast

Sickly sweet, spicy, and sinister- it has a rancid overripe undertone that I also smell in Gres Cabaret. With Love has a lot of hype on Fragrantica, but I think that is in large part due to nostalgia and scarcity. A scrubber.

erica.andruscavage

I wish they would bring this back. I so miss it!

sabinalily

Long time no smell but I remember getting a sample of this one when I was around 14 y.o. Still remember the amazing mix of spices and slight sweetness. Would so wear it today.

alyxdavidson

I was 13 when this came out and absolutely loved it. I would spray it every time I went to Kohl's but never bought it because I didn't have the money to pay full price.

Now in 2016, I've finally gotten it. I found a 0.5oz on eBay and had to get it. I was hesitant to purchase this since it is discontinued and I was afraid it wouldn't be good anymore in terms of smell or even longevity. Luckily, I have no issues with it and am so happy!

This is a warm, spicy fragrance. However, I don't find it sharp like many wood based scents but rather smooth and calming. There is a sweetness from the mango but I don't find it inappropriate or overwhelming. It balances the woodsy, amber base.

I tend to avoid strong woods since they give me headaches or asthma but I've had no issues with this scent.

mishko

I just got it today. Another blind buy I have been delaying for years.
It is earthy, spicy and very much unisex. Not sweet at all.

Right away I can feel some spices mixed with a strong woody smell (the cocobolo note) and mangosteen. This mix gives it a eucalyptus leaf kind of smell.

It is not only the most original celebrity fragrance I own, it is also one of the unique scents I have ever had.

Although I am more of a gourmand type of guy I am appreciating its singularity and for sure I am going to wear this proudly.

I have a feeling this will grow even more on me. However I hope it does not become an addiction (as it was quite hard to find haha).
So good!

Update : I knew this was going to happen. It is official. I truly love it! Unfortunately both its sillage and longevity are short :-(

UnearthlyApothecary

I love when a celeb scent steps outside the sweet n fruity box. But Wait! This perfume IS sweet and fruity! Well yes the mango adds a fruity sweetness but there is also a bit of spice and a VERY strong woods base. If you don't like strong woodsy scents I would not suggest this one, for those of us that do love woods fragrances, this is delightful. This is the only scent in the database that has cocobolo as a note. It's worth a buy for that alone. It truly is unique and I'm so glad I bought it, I will be wearing this often in the fall when it's still too warm for my more heavy scents. This is a great transition into cooler weather scent.

I got this a mini .17oz just to try&its definitely a romantic/fun &casual...its unique in its scent&notes,a great combination... Not average its more of a fruit nectar&dried mango feel from woodsy&a splash of love&champagne,I'm far from good on describing scents, notes, just say what comes to my mind. Its unique I like this a lot...too bad its really hard to find&discontinued, it doesn't last long great for lounge & lazy days fun days all seasonal.

Edemay

I reordered this beauty just to feel some nostalgia.
What i found is that with time this scent changes a lot.
I still remember the day i smelt this on a magazine and was so excited to buy a bottle of it.
Thinking back it was quite mango/musky/woody
With age the juice actually becomes extremely spicy and woodsy. So woody it is almost sour.
I love it though because its like this scent has grown up with me.
I will enjoy my bottle of this.

poolsoflaughter

I am so very glad that I have kept this bottle for so many years, forgotten on my dresser until trying it again today. I get warm, darkly spicy and sweet notes. Vanilla, amber, pepper, leather, tobacco, tonka, musk seem to be amplified by my skin in a delicious way...not too loud or obnoxious.

AirHale

Okay so... I noticed that many here were saying really good stuff about this perfume and let me tell you that they were not wrong! :) I decided to buy a 0.5 fl oz to try it and see what all the fuzz was about. I got OBSESSED as soon as I sprayed it. I like it a lot (I even bought a 3.3 fl oz bottle after). I want to buy as many as possible because It is discontinued :( Seems like i gravitate towards oriental scents after all!

avagard

This is the first time in my life I buy a "celebrity" realease. I din't even know who Hilary Duff was. This stuff is gorgeous: a spiced tea with a hint of a milky coconut water, amber and dry woods ( they might be the Cocobolo note). It's not loud, as for example Jungle by Kenzo, nor is it particularly sweet- gourmandy. To be sincere I do not understand if the mangosteen note is realistic, since I've never smelled it, but there's something fruity, very lightly reminding me osmanthus, which could be that exotic fruit. Nevertheless this is not certainly a fruity girly fragrance, but a lightly spiced warm juice that can be well enjoyed by grown-ups either men or women. Much, much better that many designers'offers. Considering this, my score is 8/10

Cauda Pavonis

Wow! Just… wow! Amazing perfume from Duff; warm, woody, sweet, milky. A beautiful, luscious fragrance! Head and shoulders above most celebrity perfumes. If you don't like wood you should avoid this but I feel it adds depth and interest to what would otherwise be a generic sugary gourmand - not that that would be bad but the cocobolo elevates this to something really special. It actually reminds me strongly of Jeux de Peau - which I adore - but with dry, airy woods. Highly recommended! I'm buying a larger bottle *right now!*

remmz

I wanted to love this perfume because I've heard mazing things, however at first smells I was not impressed. It later tries down and smells a tad better but it is far too woody, would not reccomend

clickingpenguin

I may have already written a review for this perfume but I've just fallen in love with it all over again and thought I would share my updated opinion. With Love surpasses most celebrity fragrances with it's warm, milky, spiciness and uniqueness. I have been wearing it non stop lately and every time I do I catch myself smelling my wrists. I would say it's intoxicating. It's not a weak little gourmand without any character or depth. However, at the same time, it's not too masculine and heavy. It has the right balance of femininity and mystery. I'm about 90% sure that it's been discontinued so I just ordered another bottle on amazon while they're still floating around out there. I would HIGHLY recommend thus perfume if you're looking for something different and beautiful. Purchase ASAP.

Southern Blonde

Very exotic and mature for Hilary Duff AKA Lizzie McGuire on Disney Channel. The bottle and packaging is deceptive. I thought it would be a sweet girly fruity scent similar to Paris Hilton Dazzle but its not. It's a punch in the nose of spice and dark woods, amber, musk and mango. If it was not for the mango (and mango blossom) scent I might not have liked it. It's fruity but dark, and kind of like Roberto Cavalli Exotica. It's definitely an evening perfume and for summer. It's fruity but not too fruity, it's mostly woodsy, amber and musk. Smells Oriental and very spicy. I can see myself wearing it on a serious date where serious conversations are gonna happen. Love it.

KarlekLila

With Love by Hilary Duff was a lovely, warm, woody- amber scent with notes of dark cocobolo wood, chai spices, and mangosteen blossom contained in a beautifully faceted, jewel-like, glass bottle. (I had no clue what mangosteen was prior to discovering this perfume. Coincidentally it was about the same time that I developed a love for Indian cuisine. Mangosteen - aka garcinia mangostana- is a southeast Asian fruit often used in south Indian cooking. It is not at all the same as the mango fruit. The notes listed here on Fragrantica are incorrect).

The juice had outstanding longevity and sillage on me. I received a giftset of the full size 3.4 oz. bottle, 5 oz. lotion, and a rollerball keychain as a birthday gift when the fragrance was first released in 2005. It was my signature scent for nearly three years. I received endless compliments from friends and strangers alike. When I made the decision to change my signature everyone I knew let me know they missed the warm amber scent they'd come to associate as "my" scent. When I sought out a replacement bottle I was utterly brokenhearted to discover that it had been discontinued. I've yet to find anything quite like it.

Apparently Mariah Carey's "M" outsold this as the best selling celebrity fragrance at the time; thus the reason for its discontinuation. The scent may not have worked for everyone but it was practically made for me. To date my entire family agrees that this was the BEST scent I've ever worn, beating out any Chanel or Guerlain I've owned over the years. It was a fabulous perfume despite bearing the name of a then teen aged pop star.

Wheaters

The opening of With Love is just gorgeous, fruity but not syrupy.
I am sorry to say that the drydown is something else entirely. It never makes it past the smell of Black Jack penny sweets. I had to scrub. I tried, I really tried to tolerate it but couldn't, it made me want to vomit.
I'm so disappointed because the recommendations for this are usually glowing and i thought I'd love it. Oh well.

As always, YMMV.

Betsywoolbright

Voopie. Look on ebay.

Tarya

Very nice, not overly feminine or fruity. I'm more into warm, spicy and tomboyish scents, so this one's just perfect.

When I saw notes listed on this one, got curious (spices) but I was doubtful about the mango (which I don't detect at all..) Before this one I was using Nirvana by Elisabeth and James (black.)

beautyscent$

I don't know if I had a bad bottle or not (I highly doubt it) but, it smelled awful to me... High on the spices, amber, and pat... I wanted to like it, but could not at all!!!

lindley

Mangosteen, surely, not mango? I don't detect any mango in it, and I distinctly remember choosing this because of my love of (and rare access to) mangosteen, which to me tastes like perfume smells.

I found a bottle of In Love shoved to the back of my cupboard because of a broken spray. I replaced it and, thinking that celeb scents are usually very passing pleasures, doused myself with a few good sprays.

Oh, gosh. So much sweetness. It wasn't unpleasant I did like it, but I felt giddy and incredibly over-perfumed. This stuff is strong!

It settled to a likeable scent, once I stopped feeling like I'd bathed in it. Sweet and slightly spicy and tropical but more subdued than brash--and yes, I swear I do detect the delectable mangosteen.

grumpycloud

i got this as a gift and ended up selling it at a garage sale for $5. It's tooooooo strong and really "old lady like". It's not young, it's like what i can imagine middle aged women wearing, trying so desperately to be sexy. But it's anything but sexy. It's really unappealing.... I really don't know any other way to describe it because i had it so long ago..

lirael00

I smell coconut too ?! This one is very oriental, tropical,I was epecting something very different as this one comes from Hilary Duff and it's called with love. I would rather name it Coco Jambo! Overall, very likeable!

Karineabdel

I smell coconut ???

Edemay

remembered first smelling this sampled on a magazine and thinking back to it i can still remember how delicious and unique it was i couldn't get enough of it.

myram7

It's a very pretty scent, but doesn't last for more than 2 hours :( Not a repurchase for me...

Amy Orvin

I didn't care for this. I thought the bottle was pretty but the perfume stinks.

norchelle.dovinian

Purchased this a long time ago since I was about to attend Hillary's upcoming "Dignity" Tour, so I thought the purchase would be necessary.... This perfume is intoxicating and overwhelming, very VERY spicy and musky perfume. Was really disappointment since Hillary's fan base at the time was young tween girls when the perfume is linked towards more mature women with such an "mature and spicy" scent, truly I believe this perfume is not sexy AT ALL.

shell_bell

I got a tiny sample bottle of this several months ago but never paid it much attention.
Then, as my 40th birthday party approached I desperately started sorting through my samples for one that I was not familiar with to be my "signature" for the day - something that would always remind me of that wonderful party. I dabbed on some of Hilary's With Love and WHEW! What a fragrance!

Strangely enough, I first get a blast of tequila! Enough to make me feel a bit boozy lol. Then it quickly softens to a spicy, musky, woody mango with rice flower and vanilla aspects that aren't listed. I'd technically classify it as an autumn scent but it smelled BEAUTIFUL in warm summer sun yesterday.
It lasted a few hours into my party so I reapplied once. However, I spent most of the day outside so I was doing a good bit of sweating to wear off the gorgeous aromas.

Basically, I'm upgrading to a larger bottle before the summer is out so that any time I want to relive the fantastic memories of turning 40 I can give myself a quick spritz and smile in nostalgic happiness. ^_^
Yes...I am in love.

Rsamorose

Update: I am now getting the tropical notes. Creamy vanilla, still cedar. This is warming up and it smells divine!

Rsamorose

I blind purchased this after reading reviews. It has some of the notes that I love. First spray out of the bottle and what is that smell? Cedar/teak! This smells like the sauna at the gym. Crisp, fiery, dry. My skin always absorbs scents and brings out the woodiest notes of any fragrance, so on me, so far that's all I'm getting. I don't smell any coconut, or a hint of fruit. It's borderline masculine, but not necessarily in a bad way. I've been wearing it about 20 minutes so I'm waiting for the dry down. It's an interesting fragrance. Since I live in South Florida I would probably wear this on a chilly fall night. I don't see myself reaching for it more often than that.

armacoonsum

It really is so funny how differently a fragrance can read on different skins. As I have had more than one perfume that was lovely on someone else go nasty on me, I do see how With Love could take a turn toward "dirty musk" territory on another. Happily, on my skin, With Love is a warm, creamy, sweet, mellow tropical dream. The mango/vanilla/amber blend makes for the most delicious creamy tropical feel- just a slight sweetness, enough to make the word "yummy" come to mind. The Fragrantica "notes" database describes cocobolo wood as a "fantasy note", only found in With Love, but I can't decide what else could remind me of a savory, nutty coconut in this one... so, I 'll just say it has to be the cocobolo wood. Yeah, that has to be it. There is quite a bit of spice present, but it is not the typical Christmas blend, or anything masculine. In line with the rest of the composition, it is a warm, creamy tropical spice, and it is nowhere near overwhelming. With Love wears on quietly for several hours, then falls asleep on a bed of nice skin musk and subtle spice. I have bought several back-up bottles, as I sense With Love is on its way to extinction.

hailes_xx

No, no, and no. I found this stuff in my sister's collection, and she said "You can have it." I tested it, and almost gagged at the dark, musky, dirty, strong scent that came off my skin. I don't like to smell like dirty musk and I don't understand why anyone does.

fr3ckles

Hands down my favourite celebrity scent and one of my all time favourite perfumes. It started my love back in 2008 when I was 13/4 and was my first proper signature scent. It's complex to describe - it's almost unisex, a warm vanilla with amber and musk that always made me think it had a slight mint edge to it. There's a creaminess too. It had amazing sillage and longevity on my skin, was strong without being overpowering and if it didn't remind me so much of being 14 (and it wasn't so hard to find a bottle) I'd probably still wear it every day.

nickhi1984

I immediately fell in love with this fragrance. It was released in South Africa at a really good price, so of course I had to try it. This was my signature scent for years! I used to love that I could get a set with either 100ml and body lotion or a 100ml with a 30ml. I used With Love daily - for any occasion. Soon after I got married, this was really marked down & my bottle was nearing it's end, so I purchased a set containing 30ml & 100ml. After a month or two I went back to see if there are still specials, but I couldn't find With Love anywhere. I never opened my set. I only finished the bottle I was already using & that was it. I only recently discovered that it had been discontinued. My box is still sealed, I feel too sorry to use it. This is a gorgeous fragrance on me. Vanilla, fruit, exotic musk. I absolutely love With Love. It is a real shame that it has been discontinued & I can't find anything that smells similar - except for Revlon Unforgettable Midnight Amber (which has also been discontinued).

tru4reele

I blind bought this because of the rave reviews. I'm so disappointed. I don't like it. It smells like Far Away Exotic which I don't like either. There's a note in it that is more prominent in the Far Away that I detest. Papaya maybe? Idk but I am willing to do a swap if someone wants this.

Fragrance_Lily

It is strange because I was expecting to get the spicy smell from it, but it smells sweet on my skin. At first spray I can get that musk, but then it transforms into a sweet mango on me. Definitely smells exotic, but from a distance it smells like Wonderstruck Enchanted on my skin. My body chemistry makes this one very sweet.

Edit: I've been wearing it for 7 hours, and I can still smell it. It is very strong perfume, and now I can smell the spice on my skin. It reminds me of Indian spices like curry (in a good way).

poemefreak

i bought a sample of this and love love love it, i have had it on since 2pm and 8 hours later its still there, skin scent only obviously now but is still there. It smells warm and cozy to me and i will be trying to buy a FB

swampgirlie

@JMARREE yes I'm sure. Purchased and gifted several bottles to family. My sister in law adores this scent and on her it presents itself as spicy fruity richness. Good bad or indifferent I reiterate that chemistry is key.I can only review from my perspective and this does indeed put off an "Angel" vibe when mixed with "my" chemistry. Other reviewers mentioned this likeness and I dismissed it. Negative reviews may be unpopular but for me, these reviews, if done honestly with integrity, help me tremendously.

mschnabel666

I grabbed a 1 oz with a 3.4 lotion off ebay for $14.50 with free shipping. My lotion is not watery, but has no scent beyond a lotion scent. (Think Jergens) The perfume juice may be spoiled.... my scent was like damp wood and limp celery (I know.... but I swear I smelled warm celery! LOL!) It disappeared almost instantly on my skin, but lingered on my clothing. When I went outside in the cold (still Winter in Michigan) I got whiffs of tropical/fruit. I can tell this would be a pretty perfume... but I'm too scared to try any more or another bottle since it's OOP and all bottles could be spoiled.

Otherwise, if this is the real juice... it's just not me. I get whiffs of awesome, but overall it's too weak, too woody, and just boring.

lovealwaysalisa

Have been wanting to try this for awhile now and didn't realize it was discontinued!! No wonder I had a hard time finding it. Well, I finally got my hands on a bottle through ebay and smelled it. It was almost exactly what I was looking for as a fall/winter scent. There is a sweetness but not sugary sweet (kind of the way a glass of ice tea smells sweet), EARTHY, musky woods, and spices. The mango note is very subtle and almost not there but that may just be with my skin chemistry. Kind of reminds me of Chai tea. Sooooo glad to have gotten a big 3.3 oz bottle since this will be harder and harder to find. The bottle is GORGEOUS and very vintage looking btw. Great for a "celebrity" scent and VERY different from what most others have put out (sugary sweet or fruity been there done that scents). This is very unique. A real shame it is discontinued... I am now planning to buy a couple of bottles on ebay as backup for the years to come.

Edit: My bottle turned on me quite quickly unfortunately. Now has a weird celery undertone. Seems finding a bottle that hasn't spoiled will be difficult as time goes on. So sad.

tia2905

I love this fragrance. It's exotic, glamorous, and yummy. It makes me feel confident and energized when I wear it. I had it, loved it, and then moved on to something else. I was mistaken thinking I would be able to find another gourmand fragrance that could compete with this one. Planning to purchase it again, very soon! I will give a more complete analysis of it once I get reacquainted with how it works with my chemistry.

Lauren Da

Unexpectedly this is a winner. It arrived to my mailbox today and I have to admit it was LOVE at first spray! Definitely an unforgetable experience rather than a typical perfume! This is exactly how an elegant, sophisticated and rich young lady would smell like. The scent is sensual and it smells like it is a very expensive perfume yet it is not! Congrats to Hilary for her awesome choice it's a pity it is discontinued but I feel lucky that I found it !

Julia1506

This one is a real gem. Gorgeous rich creamy gourmand perfume. I'm not a big fan of the gourmand scents, but this one totally captured me. For the notes, I don't think that I'm hearing mango here. Probably it is a juicy pear. Pear and spices. Surprisingly this composition appears to be very elegant on me. Such a pity this beauty was discontinued.

Knightnose666

Love this. I tracked down a bottle and I'm hesitant to use it just cos I don't want it to run out. It smells fiery, rich, clean and has a sensual androgynous feel to it. It smells great on clothes, and on skin it dries creamy. It is a really sophisticated perfume perfect for 20s to 30s. Nice to wear in the winter but I think this is good for all seasons. It's a great day and night perfume. I have never smelt anything like it before!

Planet_X

That's the one I wanted to try for ages, but I didn't know and still don't know who is Hilary Duff:P
Only noticed that this bottle regularly appears in wardrobes of people who's taste in fragrances I genuinely respect and take hints from
So! No mango-fruit for sure. Rather its a blossom. What I smell is very solid, appealing sweetly-spiced fragrance which immediately reminded me Jeux de Peau Serge Lutens, less bakery, more juicy, yet it has that cashmere-coconut-y vibe, and soft spicy-woodiness. Very nice and I am going for a bottle.

katushka37

Update: Sadly this gorgeous fragrance went off and I had to throw it away... It started to get very potent chemical smell and one day it was nothing like the original creamy spiced pear scent I remember. My co-worker wears it too and it is starting to get a lot of those aftificial notes as mine did at the end of its life...so if it smells blah it is most likely off

Monica.Tiffany.De.La.Rosa

My sister bought this fragrance a few years ago, I still remember the beautiful smell that filled the room, she bought it until the day that discontinued it. Fortunately she found a replacement soon on amor amor then, after a while we found a copy and oh god! It is completely the same, also very cheap, now I'm the one buying all the time! It is very sexy, elegant and sweet.

TeacupBreaker

I didn't know this was an oriental / warm-spicy fragrance when I bought it, and since I'm not a fan of those, this isn't my favorite. I will say, though, that for being what it is, it really isn't offensive. It has a pleasant, light warmth to it--good for cold weather. I think the mango and mango blossom keep it sweet enough to be wearable.

marenanne6

An unfortunate sickly sweet scent on my skin, from when I first put it on to the dry down. It's a shame because it looked like the woody and spicy notes would blossom out after awhile, but each time I give it another chance I always feel slightly nauseated. It reminds me of eating too many divinities in one sitting. But oh well, it's a lovely bottle and I think the overall scheme of it was a great one, even if I can only stand it for a few hours.

perfumelovermadz

Hated it at first, then I grew to love it and then it became one of my favourites. I love it and hopefully can purchase another bottle!

theperfumemaniac

With Love by Hilary Duff will go down in history as the most UNDERRATED celebrity fragrance ever. SHAME such a quality fragrance got discontinued.

The scent is spicy, sweet, and woody. It is such a sexy scent. I really recommend this if you like spicy, oriental perfumes with a sweet edge to them.

I hope that now that Hilary Duff released some new music, maybe Elizabeth Arden will bring this back.

davidlong13

I used to love this fragrance. My best friend bought it for me a good 5 Christmases ago now. It was such a musky and elegant fragrance completely unlike any celebrity fragrance you can think of. However, the only downfalls of this perfume is that it just never lasted very long and the dry down smell was just very sugary smelling.

mvd99

This is impressive for a celebrity frag, what a shame it's discontinued. How can Paris Hilton's frags live on and this is discontinued? There's no justice in the world. Well, this frag is a lovely, entry-level oriental for floral gals that may want to test the waters. I smell wood throughout, especially at drydown but since I've never smelled cocobolo, I can't comment more about it. I don't really get mango or mango blossom either. I do get a hit of spices and amber, warm but not overpowering, and I LOVE it. I may just have to start hoarding it.

ImissQuant

This is reminiscent of classic 1920’s and 30’s vintage fragrances but in a lightened more updated way. It is elegant and sophisticated. It is the Flapper girl’s go to scent when she goes to afternoon teas that extend way thru the evening. The 1930’s babe in her impeccably tailored peplum suit walks by leaving behind this subtle spice scent warmed by skin. Love this fragrance from the same great nose who created my favorite Black Cashmere. Thank You Rodrigo Flores Roux.

Shimoldeam

This is quite an odd fragrance, but nice. On first spray its a rather uninspiring fruity blast that is instantly forgotten. However, after 30 minutes or so it becomes a beautifully soft warm and spicy musk. Its very light for my tastes, but has its charm. Shame it doesnt last more than a few hours.

ellina1984

This is so much more than I'd hoped for! It really is an oriental.

Very spicy, and a tad dry at the top. There's mango in there, quite prominent, too. If I hadn't looked at the pyramid I would have mistaken it for peach. And amber.

I get whiffs of wood throughout, and I had thought of rosewood. Obviously, I'm not acquainted with cocobolo, so maybe that's what I'm smelling, but rosewood does come to mind. It's not as dry as mahogany, but has a more aromatic quality to it.

Hours after application, after I had forgotten I was testing this, I went out to hang the clothes to dry. I kept getting whiffs of sweet vanilla and peach, with a touch of amber. I kept trying to remember whether I had bought a new clothes detergent, and then realized it was my hand. So the drydown is quite different than I'd expect given the spicy and woody top and middle, but it is delicious and beautiful!

HollyHawk22

This is my very favorite perfume to date. It's a lovely amber smell with just enough sweetness to be sensual instead of outright sexy. My husband always remarks on it when I wear it, so I save it for special occasions because it's discontinued.

vixw

Really like this, but it has been discontinued. Wore it for 3 years but now I only have the body lotion, which has not turned bad yet. Love the woodsy/cedar scent. Always get compliments. Just a really nice scent. Can't go wrong here.

nitschevo

Finally got my hands on this thanks to another member (thank you again!)

With Love is unique - I have never smelled anything like it before. It`s spicy yet sweet and tropical. But def. a fall/winter scent. Maybe a cooler summer night, too, depending on the location.

Woody, ambery, tropical (the mango elements) and spicy. I think if you like woody, oriental scents like Marni, Dsquared or even Dune you might like this one too. Oh and the bottle is beautiful!

gawerika

This would work best in autumn/fall and winter, just too heady for warmer temperatures. It has moderate silage but very long lasting, definitely recommended when you wish to feel cozy and sensual.

Mynotaur

Quite a nice one, seemed to last a long time for me. Surprising good for a celebrity perfume.

heather62

Received this scent from another member - thank you! This smells like fall to me. Hard to describe. I know it would never be a signature fragrance for me, but it is nice for a change.

Eesa

I just received a blind buy of this, and upon the first wearing, I love it! The spices and cocobolo wood really do dominate this. I am not always a fan of woody scents, but this is really lovely for me. There is just a hint of sweetness from the mango notes (I am a big fan of mango fruit btw). It does not smell cheap to me. It is a very delicious smell, and I would consider it a safe blind buy for the majority of people. I know that I am going to be wearing this a lot!

LadyMaverick

I wanted to like it but it just smells cheap to me. Just like in some Avon perfume, there is something cheap in there. Spices are interesting but unfortunately they remind me of pickled cucumbers my mum used to make - there is bay leaf and mustard seed in there. It just doesn't work for me :(

alemaiden

Gracias!

pravda48

Warm spices, something creamy (would've said creamy/milky sandalwood if I didn't see the notes), and a lovely burst of mango in the opening spritz. Gets progressively better blended as it wears in. There's almost a buttery tone to it that's quite delicious under the crystallized sugar topcoat.

While I find it a tad shallow most of the time (pretty linear, quite sweet, just enough warm 'flavoring' spices to stay amusing) it is a lovely warm/sweet/creamy go-to when I want a gourmandish crowd pleaser. For this reason I wore it every night at work for a while and was complimented on a regular basis. Actually several people even followed me to ask what I was wearing that smelled like cookies.

Reminds me of: Adam Levine for Her w/ more sugar & less marigold

Compliments?: Every time! "You smell like a gingersnap! Mmm..."

Sillage: soft-mod
Longevity: 4ish hrs
Experience: worn 10+ times (FB)
Usually apply: 5-7 sprays

Alison Wonderland

Pretty, spicy oriental.

Had a small bottle as a teen from TJ Max and it brings back the memories :) Thought it was quite unusual with the spiciness and amber feel...and the vintage looking bottle was gorgeous.

Definitely not your typical over-sweet bland "celeb" fragrance at all. This one has personality but I would get a small bottle first or test as it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

As I've grown up, I started collecting more designer perfumes but still remember this fondly. May have to try and get another small bottle soon, as I think it would be perfect for spring or fall in London.

Lybarra118

WOW! Just wow.
The spice here reminds me a lot of Lucas Seasoning (that you can also eat as candy) or Tajin Seasoning (Mexican fruit seasoning). If you haven't tried them, they're fantastic on any fruit.

Here we have juicy mango sprinkled with Lucas. It's not overly sweet, the spices give it a lot of character, and the amber base also gives it a nice creamy feel.

With Love is absolutely gorgeous and mature while still remaining playful. To top it off, the bottle is so pretty. I adore this unique celebrity fragrance! Longevity is 6 hours on my skin, but it lingers forever on clothes (which I prefer). Projection is moderate.

Update: This can be worn all year round, but I personally prefer it in warmer/hot weather. The spices seem to heat up on the skin better, making it yummy.

ngmama

This was my wedding fragrance!! At the time I liked Ralph by Ralph Lauren a bit better, but this had a more elegant look (for photographs) and smell.
Wonderful memories!! Beautiful bottle. Lovely, unique, scent. :)

Kierannnn.

This is a beautiful fragrance. Smells just like a cup of tea.

SIM2014

I was surprised at how great this one smelled. The longevity in it is great,I wore it in the fall.

nitschevo

I really want this! Knowing that she loves Opium I'm intrigued how she approached the whole "celebrity" scent thing. Meaning - did she stay true to herself (as far as possible for mass market, I mean Opium is da bomb!) or did she take the crowd pleaser route. If someone has a bottle up for sale or swap please let me know, thanks! :)

Lexxy

So relieved, I like it! This was a blind buy bc I could not find it anywhere to test. And the "too spicy" reviews had me a bit worried. But I find it more woody than spicy and the sweetness with the mango balances it nicely for me. It's sweet in a honey sweet type of way and just a bit fruity. It has almost a unisex feel to it (I think bc of the woody smell) but the sweetness makes it feminine. It's different but in a good way, not as scary as I thought it was going to be. I wish I was better as describing fragrances so that I could help you guys more. Bc I had a hard time imagining what it would smell like while reading reviews. Woody, honey sweet, tropical fruity are words that come mind. I also get a slight tea like feel, like tea sweetened with honey. And Sensual Amber from BBW was a good guide but sweeter and fruitier. I'm Happy with my purchase :)

xemilybx

This is one of my favourite fragrances! I like how this fragrance is very fruity and fresh. I have ran out of this perfume, and I find it very hard to get over here in the UK, so Im going to keep searching for it until I find it!

fighter

Very disappointed.

I don't know if this is because I purchased an old bottle and this has turned rancid, or because I'm more used to vanilla-base fragrances, but this smells awkward to me.

At first spry, the first three seconds I get a sweet-woodsy english tea accord. After it, it unleash a quite overpowering smell of rotten mangos that lasts several time...and this is quite disturbing! In the dry down phase, this perfume starts to turn more tolerable and interesting with a lighter fruity, spicy and amber accord. The problem is that after one hour you can't smell it anymore...

Sure very different form the crowd-pleasant-vanilla-celebrity-scents, but in this case I'm not sure this is a good thing.

This fragrance isn't bad. I wasn't sure what I would think of it, but I like it more than I thought it would (I, too, had to get over the Hilary Duff thing). People who describe it as soft are so right- this scent was tremendously soft on me. It was so soft, in fact, that I almost couldn't smell it, even after I'd just put it on. I really do like the scent of coconut milk mixed with wood. It's a nice and somewhat unusual fragrance. I just wish that it was stronger. If it was stronger I'd purchase a full bottle.

GoldDustedWoman

I get compliments from men when I wear this. It use to be my favorite, but I have found a lot better that i wear more. I still own it though. It's a solid go to scent.

Ahlamsarah

when i first smelled it at the airport dutyfree shop i was crazy about it and eager to have it, i guess i liked it a lot due to the woody notes. I got it finally, liked the smell so much but the sillage and longevity were weak, so sad!

peachypixie

With Love smells like a cup of tea. The bottle is very beautiful, too, as lovely as the perfume inside.

It's definitely a step away from the typical floral/fruity or vanilla-based celeb fare. This posh and pretty scent gets a 'love' from me.

Dee5

I'm not sure whether I got an old bottle of this but it smells of straight up alcohol. I ordered from fragrancenet and it is not good at all. I am thinking of returning it.

You guys want to hear BLASPHEMY? *giggles*

I just layered this over vintage Cuir de Russie extrait (oh yes I did!). It's kind of delicious. Now it's sweet and badass, leather and drizzled white chocolate. Smells like a fun night to me ;)

mistykerryn

I'm wearing a sample of this from a tester from a store right now. I can definitely smell the woods and spices in this, and also the slightest hint of sweet mango. To me this is a very unique scent, definitely a "grown up" fragrance. It is not my cup of tea, I wouldn't wear this it's not my style, but I can appreciate it as being quite a nice perfume.

christ0pher

My favorite scent so far. I'm still very new and only starting to learn about perfumes and after reading what other's had to say of this one I decided to try.

With Love is beautiful and warm. To me it smells like a large gold platter of freshly spiced and glazed tropical fruits at sunset with vanilla candles wafting in the foreground. Very exotic and relaxing, comforting too. It's a great mood booster, it whisks you somewhere far away just with a sniff.

I live in Puerto Rico and on my dry skin it has a nice second skin sillage, not too close, I can smell it on myself for quite a bit and whenever I give my friends or such a hug I get compliments, no one ever believes me when I say it's a celebrity frag! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to maybe try something new and not harsh at all.

I bought this stuff from Marshall's on sale. It was one of the few bottles you could smell first before buying. I was happy with it right away, and since then, I've never grown tired of it. This had the woodsy and fruity scent balance that I had been searching for and found where I least expected it. I went back and bought more before running out.

After getting passed the fact that I had purchased a "Hillary Duff" parfum, I was actually pleased with the quality. I hate the commercial. Please disregard the commercial. The perfume, on the other hand, is surprisingly tasteful. This is nothing against Ms. Duff --- who I know nothing about. I couldn't name a single song she sings, but the perfume is quite nice.

It has a base of woodsy and spice --- which I CRAVE, but it is all introduced with a lovely delicate fruit scent, which is apparently mango. It is best described as a light oriental, with enough balance to be a classic. That's meant to be as huge a compliment as it sounds. It is a steady winner; I can always go to it and find that it is appropriate for day or night, casual or formal. As far as celebrity fragrances, this stands out from all of them. It is surprisingly a steady classy mark and can be worn for any woman, any age, who likes soft classic scents, but wants something more modern, and spicy. The spicy, fruity and musk scents are fairly equally balanced. This ends up smelling very accessible because the personality is so balanced and softening to its own softly sweet personality.

I'm surprised that so many people dislike this perfume, as this was pretty much my gateway into it all...
On me it lasts around 7.5 hours, but stays relatively close to my body. It's never over powering, and it feels like a warm hug of spices and leather. The middle is very vanilla-y to me with musk. Very soft sweet smell to my nose, with the mango scents coming in toward the later hours of wearing it. This has been a favorite of mine for awhile, and I'll admit I horde bottles of it.

Jomoves

I am an oriental lover and purchased this blind based on the reviews here. For me this was a spectacular stone-cold fail.

It smells like a piece of coconut slice that has been covered in furniture polish. But the true horror was the dry down when it took on the scent that I get when emptying the vacuum cleaner dust bag.

A thousand thumbs down!

perfumeaddiction

Really a cute fragrance. I'm not really getting a candle scent but it's very unique to my nose. I smell the spice maybe at times and this is definitely a unisex fragrance. Definitely something I would wear on occasion. It's got a decent lasting power as well I sprayed it on at night and smelled it still in the morning. Impressive little inexpensive gem great for guy or girl.

tahoeaway

This perfume is a wonderful sweet and spicy oriental. I originally purchased it when it first came out in 2006 (already in my 30's) and have loved it ever since. Out of all the perfumes I've ever worn this is by far the one that gets the most compliments! Even my 75 year old Aunt loved it so much she started wearing it too, she also said she gets compliments once a week wearing it. It completely has lasting ability and it only takes a small spritz to really appreciate it.

BurntNugget

Very first thought of this perfume: YUCK. I'm a person who's open to a lot of scents but this one by far is the most terrible scent i have ever smelled. I tried it a few times actually and i just can't get passed how gross it smells. When first applied it smells like really strong spices (in a bad way) mixed with a load of liquorice even though liquorice isn't listed. After about 15 minutes all i can smell is liquorice. I also got a hint of incense as well. This perfume gives me an instant headache and makes me very nauseated. I would not reccomend it to anyone. I just can't believe how bad it is. I see no positive aspects of this perfume.

kiristarr

It DOES smell like a Bath and Body Works candle! Holy smokes! Someone said that Hillary wanted her fragrance to smell like her favorite candle, and I believe it! That's not to say that her fave candle was from B&BW, but it sure does smell like it! Not an off-putting scent by any means, but it is what it is (which to reiterate, is a Bath and Body Works candle).

MikaylaCrosby

This is one nasty perfume. Smells like toilet paper.

EDIT - July 2014 - Seems I once again have a sweet tooth for fragrance and this is not near as sweet as others I have grown to love. This is a beautiful fragrance and though I still detect no mango or coconut, rather more of a creamy and well blended sandalwood with florals, I DO love it! Still not my idea of a spicy oriental, it is a lovely fruity/floral with LOTS of quality sandalwood. I still find it a sillage beast which I will gladly take over fragranced water any day. Am now using it to actually tone and jazz up some of my sweeter fragrances lacking sandalwood:)

This is not my idea of a spicy oriental. First, what I like about it - well blended, smells richer than the price, impressive for a celeb designer scent, first blast of top notes smells like a highly expensive candle while sandalwood is still present for about 10 minutes only. It is a sillage Godzilla. Incredibly gorgeous bottle.

What I do not like - It is a sillage Godzilla. I enjoy sweet fragrances but this one fast becomes nauseating; an instant migraine inducer. It is so syrupy everything else gets lost. I rack my brain for anything sweeter I've come across in my years and this one is the topper, even above 80's Giorgio. (ugh) All I can smell is a mild caramel, slightly buttered popcorn drenched in honey, like someone at the factory accidentally spilled an entire cup of sweet in one bottle, and I am not fan of gourmands. Old school glam and sophistication for me only please; I do not care to smell like food with the exclusion of a few fruits necessary for my oriental frag loving nose. I detect no coconut or mango, which is good because mango and my skin do not get along.

I will hold onto it for one reason only. If I can manage to only squirt one pin drop from the bottle, it might be a fantastic layer for blind buys I like but find too dry or masculine. As horribly sweet as this is, that may be impossible as it would likely overwhelm anything underneath. Great try Miss Duff and much better than your counterparts, but the sweet is knocking me down. Oh my..., it's just tooo much tooo sweeeet. I have a toothache just writing about it. I only wish this would smell good on me and I could love it.

To me, the most dominant note is, by far, creamy coconut - but coconut is not listed at all...

liana34900

I don't like it.

It smells weird... like they've mixed non-matching ingredients together. I think it's gross

thatamiti

is this sweet? I mean, "creamy" sweet?

aliora

I remember when I first sniffed this, I originally thought it was too strong, but it immediately mellowed out and became what I recognize as a transparent kind of oriental. I don't get any of the fruits. On me, this is mostly spice from the beginning all the way to the end, and I LOVE that. My one qualm with it would be that it simply doesn't last. I once read in an interview with Hillary that she was inspired by an Amber candle of hers that she really liked, and interestingly enough, there is a candle-like quality to this as if a candle was in fact lit. I'm also noticing that there's a salty-caramel affect that it has as well. While I'm not the fondest of celebrity perfumes in general, this is one that's incredibly well done.

dododo

Wow, what a difference a fragrance makes!
On me, I don't smell anything spicy or fruity.
The beginning is very creamy and soft.
The more it starts to develop, the more woodsy/leathery it gets.
I don't know, it reminds of a hug from my ex boyfriend when he was wearing his leather jacket.
I cannot wear this during summer (too heavy and warm), during fall/winter this really comes to life.
When I don't know what fragrance to wear, 4 out of 5 times this will be the one I reach for.
This gets much love from me.

I received this perfume as a gift for Christmas after it came out around 2005-2006. I was 9 years old and this was my first "real" perfume that wasn't from Bath & Body Works, ect. Being a big Hilary Duff fan, I wore this perfume every where I went and it was my favorite for years. It smelt like vanilla and musk to my young nose. Until something happened to my bottle and made all of the liquid turn dark yellow and oily looking. It actually looked like olive oil. So I threw it out, and now later on in my life I have re-purchased the larger 1.7oz bottle and it doesn't smell the same. It's very strong and nasty smelling. I don't know if maybe I have changed and just can't wear it anymore or if I had purchased an old bottle but I will not be buying this again anytime soon.

Just a small warning: I believe this perfume was made around 2005-2006 and I'm not sure if the fragrance is still being produced or not but if you buy it online or from a discount counter be sure to sample it first to make sure it's fresh. I think a lot of places are carrying old bottles.

Grimly Fiendish

This perfume has been with me for years: I first smelled a sample of it in a magazine when it first came out and I haven't been without a bottle since!

It isn't your typical celebrity scent: it is sweet, but the spices, amber and cocobolo wood really come through. I also get a slight undertone of licorice, even though it isn't listed.

I get quite a lot of compliments when I wear this(from people of every age and gender!), so I cannot complain about the sillage. It also lasts a good 5-6 hours on me.

I can't believe this has been discontinued, it's so beautiful. I'll continue to snag bottles online super cheap and horde them forever!

There I go, rantin' and a-ravin'. In short: this is a lovely, atypical celebrity scent that is sweet, warm, grown-up and woody.

danceforjoy

I do not get spices or mango or blossoms of any kind from this. Amber and musk? Maybe. I can imagine those. Mostly a long, drawn-out coconut and chemicals. Those notes aren't listed, though. 5 hours and just as strong as at 5 minutes. No longevity problems here. Lovely bottle.

encylia

I used to love this perfume, but now i feel like i've grown out of it. I just don't really like it at all anymore, maybe it is because i'm older. but i would love to try the newer version of this perfume!

marisaisela

This perfume reminded me of Colorado in the winter, where everyone comes to ski and drink. I was instantly transported to some ski lodge bar, surrounded by wood and steaming cups of apple cider.

And having said that, this perfume is spicy in the same way apple cider is spicy. The juice is still very sweet (and this perfume is very very sweet), but the spices round it out and give it more dimension. This plus the woodiness is what makes this more than just a fruity body spray you find at Bath and Body Works. It's quite interesting, yummy, and elegant.

It's ideal for colder weather, on days when you want to smell like something drinkable and warm. Though I like the scent, it's definitely not something I would want to smell like every day. Do not expect spicy mango paradise in a bottle.
