More fruity than floral on me. The colour blue becomes it so much- it's a perfume for late spring and early summer before it gets too hot, when the sky is clear and blue and you can't wait to go to the sea for a swim.

A juicy, fruity, not too sweet perfume that is loud with laughter and the hopefulness of teenagera in the year 2000. When the new millenium would bring everything good and new and awesome and we couldn't wait. We had the world at our feet and we felt invincible. It's a little aquatic too, but not too much- it's just perfect. Happy, and carefree. It doesn't last too long and it doesn't project too much, it's rather inoffensive in most ways. It's the perfume to smell when you lean in to whisper a secret in your best friends ear. The perfume you apply in the morning, then reapply when you come home after school, and once again before going out later in the evening. It just wasn't designed to be heady and intense, it's light and non committing, just like the young adults that would wear it as they run off after their final exams to let loose with their friends and live the first day of the rest of their lives, dressed in flared jeans and with colourful streaks in their hair....

Back then, when we had the world at our feet and we thought we were invincible.....

This fragrance zings! I wish it lasted longer. Sharp, fresh citrus initially, then settles into a dry lemon with some lovely woodiness, then I detect some flowers, but nothing here is sweet. I'm not doing it justice - It is much better than I am making it sound. I have Montana 80, which I absolutely love, so I looked at Montana's other creations and picked this one to try because of Annick Menardo. A lovely blind buy - refreshing and different from the sweet, fruity fare I smell everywhere these days.

Yup, this is a really nice cheerful but not cheap smelling summer fragrance. Many of my summer wardrobe scents are a little sharp or bitter. Somehow this manages to be fresh and sunny but not sharp. There are many more notes than those listed. Basenotes UK website lists Freesia, Bergamot,Cardomom, Apricot, Pomegranate as well as the above.
I find lots of citrus, maybe a tiny bit cypress but not a woody feel at all, more citrussy. Another light fruit, maybe pomegranate. No sign of apricot really, Light floral, definitely a good solid rose and also orange blossom in there somewhere. Just a hint of spice - must be cardamom - gives it a great edge. And a very accomplished dry down that is sweet and musky but still fresh rather than sultry. A lovely bargain from TK Maxx.

This is a piece of art. I do not find it aquatic at all. Although not listed in the composition, i think it has got amalfi lemon and/or grapefruit as top notes. That is what it smells mostly of, mainly very acidic lemon. I find it a bit too acidic and sharp, but that is part of its beauty. It is its texture I appreciate above all. It is really like a sharply shaped, shiny gem. Brilliant.

It was my very first "fancy" fragrance as a teenager, a birthday present from my parents [got the gift set - glittery bath gel, body lotion and perfume]. It wasn't the one I really wanted; I was looking for Cabotine Gres actually, but couldn't remember the name right and the saleslady couldn't understand what I wanted, so she just asked me what kind of scent I like [sweet, cool, spicy etc.] and by the time she finished showing me over a dozen perfumes around the shop, I was confused enough and just settled for Montana Blue. It was pleasant enough to me back then and I would wear it quite often, but after a while it actually started irritating me, it's cool aquatic notes and the peony overwhelming in my nose, drowning out almost all other scents.
After that I couldn't wear it anymore and just gave the rest of the bottle to my mother. She likes it.

I remember of Porto de Galinhas summer 2009.
Great!

you know when you smell a right amount of everything? spices and flowers in a magical mixture . i am so in love with it , i get it as a gift from my brother and i didn't toss the bottle away . i still keep it empty ,seriously when i smell it it make my mood better . crazy i know but its very nice girly perfume but not cheap smell . highly recommend it for 20 - 25 yo girls :)

This was my very first "fancy" fragrance. I honestly do not smell the rose. I feel this is too aquatic for my looks (dark hair...) I no longer recognize myself in it.
Plus the scent does not last long.

I just received my 'blind buy' bottle of Montana Blu this morning and I am so happy with it! It's an incredibly classy, fresh, clean smelling scent (in this case a body mist!) which I think is just lovely. It smells very expensive (and in that way reminds me of my Escada 2005 which also immediately struck me as being very expensive smelling) and European to me and reminds me of scents that I have smelled in the past, and I think it also reminds me of a Dior body mist I had years ago but I can't remember the name of it. It's a subtle, feminine smelling scent although the cypress gives it perhaps the potential to be worn by either a girl or a guy. It says in the blurb on the back of the container which holds the bottle that 'Like a real-high tech Eau de Cologne Montana Body Mist leaves the skin refreshed, moisturized, silky soft and subtly fragranced. Daily and generously apply on legs, arms and bust'. Well, I suppose being a body mist it could be applied lavishly all over like that but I applied just a drop of it to try it out because I hadn't showered yet so I didn't want to waste it and that little drop lasted really well.

So, I am VEERRRY impressed with this lovely fragrance and it's definitely one of my best blind buys and the kind of scent that makes me want to continue risking making blind buys!!

A very unique and pleasant aquatic. Cypress definitely adds some kick to it. Excellent sillage and longevity. Great for hot summer days!

I rec'd. Montana as a gift in 1988 from a friend in Berlin, Germany. I never wore it until 1989. I was amazed at the fragrance. The bath gel, body lotion and perfume are the epidemy of what "The TOTAL WOMAN" is all about. Whenever I wear Montana (blue) I feel like: a perfect 10Karat Diamond Solitaire ring (multi-faceted), perfect, elegant, sharp yet feminine and EGOCENTRIC! This fragrance is definitely one of the colors of my personality. I can not imagine my life without this.
It is more than just a fragrance...it is an "experience"! Wasawoo

I tested this perfume with a certain amount of concern, since I am not a fan of the original Montana.

This is a totally different scent from the original one, a true floral aquatic. You get the peony and the rose notes immediatly, emerged from the water (aquatic notes). The base notes are more discret, just adding a bit of freshness and carather.

Suitable for everyday and casual wear.
