Truth or Dare by Madonna is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Truth or Dare was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Stephen Nilsen. Top notes are Tuberose, Gardenia and Neroli; middle notes are Jasmine, Benzoin and Lily; base notes are Vanille, Amber and Musk.

The long-awaited perfume which will bear the signature of Madonna, perhaps the greatest pop star ever, launches in 2012. The company Coty has signed an agreement with MG Icon to launch this fragrance named Truth or Dare. The fragrance is for women from 25 to 45, with the group of 35-45 as the primary aim.

“I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me, but that other people could relate to as well. Something classical and timeless and yet modern. My oldest memory of my mother is her perfume. I carry it with me everywhere. She always smelled like gardenias and tuberose, an intoxicating mixture [that was] feminine and mysterious. I wanted to re-create this scent, but with something fresh and new about it as well. Something honest and yet daring — hence the name Truth or Dare”, said Madonna to wwd.

Madonna was reportedly deeply involved in the process of making her perfume. She has worked with Stephen Nilsen, Givaudan perfumer, to create the composition of white flowers on an intensive gourmand background. The scent is both a light and dark, opening with notes of gardenia, creamy tuberose and neroli. The heart consists of jasmine, benzoin and white lily, based on vanilla absolute, caramelized amber and sensual musk.

The fragrance comes in two formats - as 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum, along with body lotion and shower gel.

the vanilla and benzoin would leave you to believe this could be a cloyingly sweet and heavy scent… but it’s not. It’s still a bubble gum white floral.. It’s gorgeous. It lasts a really long time on the skin. This is still worth having in your collection even if you own the frags that are listed as smelling similar. . I believe this is better than Fracas. Recent reforms of Fracas is more of a linear tuberose and smells more similar to Gucci Bloom. It’s not like MK either as it lacks the metallic zing and incense that Kors has. This stands out among the others.. as it makes me feel as if I’m bathing in gardenia cream. It’s worth spending 100 bucks on.

Nperez7512

Beautiful scent, surprisingly good for a designer fragrance! It’s a mix of white florals with a subtle hint of amber vanilla and gives a sense of bubble gum. I love white florals with a slight sweetness and this is so well blended it’s perfect 😍

Delectable bubblegum-y tuberose. A little musky, a little powdery. It's nice. Beautiful sillage.

I don't have many perfumes in my collection that I've tried so hard to like over the years. But Truth or Dare is just not for me. So my bottle will sit there in my collection and maybe someday I'll sell it but I doubt it. I would rather hang on to the nostalgia and not spray it ever again than sell it. And as a tuberose lover, I'm ashamed that I don't love it as so many people do. In fact, it's a strong "hate" for me. IYKYK.

Madonna has not aged well as her farewell tour feels like a pair of saggy support hose. Her perfume on the other hand ; has aged very well- literally ! My bottle is pretty old (not as old as Madonna) and the heft is fabulous and so is the longevity and projection ! Glad I went with a back up bottle back in 2017 because the prices have gone nuts from the days of Marshalls & $19.99 ! Ironic ; you can get a bottle of Fracas for cheaper now!

Dollycat

Sad i'm so sad. Today i have finished this beauty of a beast 😢. I have to say goodbye forever because i'm not willing to pay the absurd high prices they dare to ask for this perfume. It's good but not for 100 or more dollars.

wondervalley666

I’m a tuberose junkie. This was on my list for awhile and I finally grabbed a bottle for a not too terrible price. It’s excellent quality, rich and oily. I’d say out of all the tubes I’ve smelled, this is definitely most similar to fracas. It has a bit of Gucci Bloom/Terracotta to it as well. It isn’t quite so intensely sweet and powder sugary as Fracas but Truthor Dare ultimately is more of that sugary candy tuberose flower garden scent than a “solar” or beachy tuberose. Even at the inflated prices post discontinuation, Truth or Dare is worth it, as the richness of the oil and scent isn’t common these days. Not recommended for those who prefer light, sheer scents. This is about as “beast mode” as tuberose scents get. To me, that means I do need to spray a lot to get it to project, but once I do, it will last more than 24 hrs. It lasts several days on clothing. Overall very pretty and sweet. Blind buy, definitely a keeper!

Madonna’s Truth or Dare is a nectar of heavens poured into the bottle where saints rest their souls. Tuberose dipped into the tears of longing, tenderness, pain, hope and lust. It’s heavy and yet youthful , dreamy yet grounded. One of the most powerful Tuberose scents from the price category.

But nothing’s indestructible, the perfume was discontinued in late 2016.
Get it anytime you can.

I remember when it came out and I first tested it in a store, it was love at first smell. I also remember it was often on sale and very affordable for me - a student at that time, so I repurchased it several times, only to get even more addicted. Until one day, I saw one last bottle very, very reduced, like 50-60% off at DM and I asked why it was so reduced (if the package was defective, etc). They told me the perfume was to be discontinued and I just refused to believe it. I went looking everywhere for it, buying every single last bottle left. I just loved it so much. So classically feminine, so full and opulent, so smooth and nectary thick. I love powerful white floral bombs with tuberose, jasmine, or lily; I love perfumes that radiate divine feminine energy - mature, confident, but also sensual, gracious, and voluptuous. Truth or Dare was all of that, plus amazing sillage and longevity, and a great price. I want it back!

BabyOliverMyFragrantica11

This perfume has been a strange love for me. There is aspects I love and a note that is iffy on me (maybe spice from lily)? However I have received the MOST compliments from men with it. By far the most! I am not sure what it is about it that attracts. I have Fracas and it has a similar note but Truth or Dare has more layers to it.
Too bad it is discontinued...it should be brought back!

herbamarium

This was one of my favorite perfumes ever. I can't believe it is discontinued. I never found anything like it again :(

Cookietookie215

I love this perfume. It was neglected and put away in my collection but I recently started wearing it and it’s all I want to smell like. It’s super powerful. (I made the mistake of over spraying at work and my poor coworkers looked like fumigated roaches lmao )
To me, it’s a lovely white floral-gourmand fragrance. It’s a very interesting scent. It starts out very mature smelling with those white florals, and then it turns into vanillary-bubblegum scent. 10 yrs later and discontinued, as of 2023 it’s still smells pretty modern compared to other white florals that never integrated a touch of gourmand accords in their fragrances. It’s the sweetness that makes it feel youthful and up to date.
With that being said I bought 2 more back up bottle before I never get the chance to get my hands on it again.

I've had this for many years, still in it's original box and given to me by an old fragrance buddy who no longer posts here. I thought I would hold on to it as a collector's item and maybe sell it at some point. Well today, I changed my mind and sprayed some on. It's as lovely as people are saying. I know she created it as almost a homage to Fracas, which I love, but this is more delicate IMO. The gardenia is more prominent than the tuberose, which is not the case with Fracas. I think Fracas has gardenia, but I need to double check.
It's the one of only two celebrity fragrance I own. The other is Kate Walsh Billionaire Boyfriend, which I purchased in error, thinking it was her first one, Billionaire. It's not due to snobbery. I know there are many beloved celebrity fragrances, especially from Britney Spears, and I wouldn't say no to trying some of them. Same thing with Kim Kardashian, but given the prices some of them command, I'd prefer to own a niche fragrance by an independent perfumer than spend the money lining the pockets of an already obscenely wealthy celebrity.
Truth or Dare really is a beautiful white floral fragrance. Madonna is well known for her need to be involved in most everything she puts her name on, from her music to perfume, and here she demonstrates good taste. If you think Fracas is top much to handle, especially in the beginning, then I can say that you may like this very much.
EDIT - yes, Fracas has gardenia, but not nearly as much as Truth or Dare.

ANNAFRYS

I wanna try it so bad I dont see it in Europe.

Lately I’ve been experiencing some burn out from all of the rose and Jasmine forward fragrances that have been dominating the market. I was feeling nostalgic for some white florals and managed to snag a bottle of truth or dare at an excellent price. It’s even better than I remembered. Rich, bold, velvety tuberose. A hint of bubblegum. Some sweetness from the vanilla. It’s a thick scent that’s warm, seductive and luxurious. Very long wearing and has excellent sillage.

I also picked up Kim kardashian edp and it has a creamy tuberose that’s more green, and clean compared to truth or dare. I wouldn’t consider it a close alternative. Truth or dare is a denser nighttime fragrance whereas Kim kardashian can be worn any time of day. Gucci bloom is green and dry, missing that bubblegum and vanilla. Mancera Velvet vanilla is sweeter, smoother, a bit jammy. The tuberose is softer more bubble-gummy. And the vanilla is stronger. Velvet Vanilla is like truth or dare’s flirtatious younger sister, worth giving a try if you are searching for a similar scent.

eau de dosa

Does anyone know how this compares to Armani’s Prive Vert Malachite ?

Supertastie

i bought a couple of big bottles years ago on sale. At the time they seemed too sweet to me so i just put them away in my temp controlled dark storage with my other treasures. I recently wanted to buy more but founds it has been discontinued.
Im Sooooo glad i did that! This stuff is amazing! I dont know if i changed or it smoothed out with age or what but i just love love love it. Its too heavy for summer in Australia for sure. But winter...ohhh yeah! The creamy sweet tuberose is wonderful..somehow i feel almond in there somwhere. Its super strong and long lasting. And i cant see me parting with my second bottle for anything less than an obscene price so i guess im keeping both till i depart this world :) But that's ok, im not against dying happy:)

lmnsvgz

Now this is THE tuberose scent. Extremely loud and it has everything - it is smooth, sweet, powerful AND incredibly feminine. There is a soapy element to it, but it definitely doesn't feel dated or clean.

It is incredibly similar to McQueen by Alexander McQueen, maybe a tad sweeter but they are both smooth, classy tuberose scents.

It is also similar to the Malachites from the Armani Prive line, a bit less complex, more one-dimensional. It doesn't really change from beginning to end.

Is it s a beautiful tuberose scent? Yes and I will treasure it while it lasts. BUT it is in not worth it - especially with the prices you see now. For these prices you can save up and get a niche, a private line scent. A perfume that used to be 15euros is now going for 100+. It is good quality but it is NOT worth that price.

OctavianWho

I need them to bring this back, please!!! It's such an amazing fragrance, I would buy bottles of it.

jjluvsm9

Selling a 75ml bottle PM me!

One of THE most beautiful white florals I’ve ever put my nose to..and from a celebrity fragrance too? What?! It smells niche. Reminds me a lottt of Honour Woman by Amouage. Gorgeous super creamy gardenia and sweet tuberose, propped up by creamy vanilla throughout. CREAMY CLEAN SWEET WHITE FLORAL GOODNESS YUMMM. Only selling as I have another bottle

Yohie

I have a 100ml bottle that I'd sell to someone in EU.
The smell is beautiful and comforting, but I need a little more zest.

swedishmilk15

All I get is tuberose. Not loving it.

Cathped

I wasnt aware that this was gonna be a warm scent, as I imagined it would be a floral perfume with a little more freshness. I think its somewhat cloying and artificial concotion. But since its vintage maybe it has changed a little too. Not at all what I had expected. I also get a banana note...? But I have never smelled anything like this perfume, so it stands out to me(never tried Fracas). It also smells heavy and a little dated. Not for everyone. And yes...Hubba Bubba

deakrek

I have a 75 ml for you if you're in Europe :) Inbox me with swap offers!

viktorijavla

Smells like a niche perfume.
At first I was surprised because it smelled very animalic.
After few minutes I got the "bubblegumminess" that many tuberose perfumes have.
I understand why it got discontinued - it's too complex for a celebrity perfume.

Update: I don't know what happened but it started smelling very fecal to me (thanks, tuberose). Even though people around me were perceiving it as a very soft, sweet, bubblegummy perfume.

Tinabill

Loud, luscious and unapologetic heady gardenia and tuberose are what ToD is all about, and I just love it! I love the fact that Madonna had the “dare” to release ToD when heavy white florals were out of fashion. Light fruity florals or heavy gourmands were all the rage at the time and white florals were considered as old school or granny perfumes. Thankfully that changed in the last few years and they’re more in vogue now. Yay for all white floral fans like me!
But I digress.
ToD is a very creamy almost buttery gardenia- tuberose combo that is also very sweet. The “truth”is ToD is full bodied and can be too heavy in warm weather especially that it lacks airiness or citrus notes. The green nuance is also very subdued. But it is very enjoyable in colder weather.
The sillage is strong for the first hour but it becomes softer and smoother later on, on my skin it lasts 4-5 hours.
It’s unfortunate it has been discontinued but I’m thankful we have a plethora of beautiful white florals on the market now to choose from.

russ0975

I love the Tuberose and gardenia in this perfume. Also love the subtle notes of amber and vanilla.

buster21

This is very similar to Fracas and both are heavy on the tuberose. TOD is like the 80’s material girl’s spicy personality, Big and Bold. Fun to sample but not for me. It’s tenacious too. I washed it off a couple of times, then went swimming and it’s still there 9 hours after first spray!

Coriemulvey

Did TOD 2011 version really have raspberry in it?! I think not! This is a white floral comparable to Fracas. Madonna’s inspo for this fragrance was her mother and her mother wore fracas. Not sure where this raspberry TOD version came from.. I think bottom posters could be confused? Anyway.. TOD is better than fracas if you ask me, and I bought enough bottles before it became laughably over priced on second hand markets.. I can’t really smell anything animalic in this fragrance whatsoever. It’s is straight up white floral cream… without smelling vanilla-ish. It’s a masterpiece.

Catmo

You have to really love tuberose to like this. I enjoy tuberose but this might even be it bit too much for me. I was able to snag a bottle for $60 usd. It's a bit nauseating in the very high heat (which is the first time I tried it.) I will keep it for fall and see how it does then. I can't compare to Fracas as I haven't tried that one yet but I do have a sample coming to me. To me- this is bubblegummy but not AS bubblegummy as other strong tuberose fragrances out there.

Update after trying Fracas: this is a smoother and easier to wear version of Fracas.

LSAUG

Truth or Dare is a beautiful creamy and resinous white floral that is heavy on gardenia, tuberose and Lily. Very sensual, seductive and it is something I could imagine Madonna wearing. I don't really get the comparisons to Fracas, that is greener and fresher than Truth or Dare. Truth or Dare has a more resinous and vanillic quality and is actually quite heavy w/ the lily to my nose. I really like this one and wish it was still in production. I think it would still sell quite well. This perfume is white, cream and gold. Tasteful, sensual w/out being overt and very signature scent worthy. I love this.

Edit: Surprise my husband really likes this and he usually hates white florals. I think the vanilla in T&D helps him to like it. And I also think the vanilla isn't overdone like it can be in a lot of vanilla/white floral combos. I might have to seek a bottle of this. I hate buying from ebay but at times one doesn't have a choice. Why do they discontinue good perfumes like this? Also the bottle is really cool.

M.Golightly

2 sprays of TOD in the summer heat at night
gives me a Goddess like aura!

On my skin the tuberose blooms, intoxicating and wraps me in a cocoon of vivacity 💋

Guerlinade01

True to Madonna aesthetic, somewhat overrated but an excellent bargain. It's like an Estee Lauder for 20$, reminds me of Beyond Paradise (Madonna did the commercial). Beside Fracas and AG Passion, Madonna was also known to wear Youth Dew (although no connexion with the notes, loyal client of the house?). She did put her personnal touch and seems like she offered a perfum she would wear.

Jrkd70

I love Fracas and Versace Blonde so I bought a bottle of this blind - big mistake (but luckily an inexpensive one). I don't see a resemblance to either of those scents and it just smells cheap to my nose.

SailorV

Big, bold tuberose with all of its different facets: Bubblegum sweet, creamy, buttery, opulent and hypnotic, but also kind of powdery and sour at times. This is all blooms with no green stems. I also get an intense gardenia paired with the tuberose, just like in the great classic Fracas. These two are definitely similar, but Truth or Dare is a little sweeter to me and has a noticeable vanilla note in the base, and it's missing the peachy opening of Fracas. It's funny, I just sprayed some Fracas next to ToD just to compare, and their tuberoses cancel each other out, so now I get a creamy suntan lotion vibe from ToD, which makes me understand why many voted Varensia White as a similar scent. Fracas on the other hand feels warmer and heavy on the sandalwood in direct comparison.

I mostly enjoy this, but I feel like it needs a little warmth to bloom on the skin, which is not uncommon for me with tuberose. I know some others only wear these loud white florals in winter, but on me they're creamier when it's mild outside and turn sourish when it's too cold. In the final drydown Truth or Dare becomes a lovely soft white floral vanilla though, no matter the temperature.

I think what makes (or made) Truth or Dare special is that it smells similar to many more expensive tuberose scents and stands out from the usual celeb fare.
Nowadays it's discontinued and often sold for a high markup on eBay, and in my opinion it's not worth it - there are so many tuberoses out there, and while it's definitely a nicely blended scent, Truth or Dare is not super original or irreplaceable.

GirlOnFire

I do love this. It doesn’t have the same sillage or longevity as Truth or Dare Naked, which is fine. Is it an exact dupe for Robert Piguet Fracas? No. Fracas is a more carnal and heady tuberose gardenia, Truth or Dare is a simpler and sweeter tuberose gardenia, perhaps more linear is what I should say? It is beautiful, but it doesn’t nearly have the same performance as I had hoped it would, and not the same performance as Fracas. I don’t find this bubblegummy whatsoever, not that there would be any issue with that if it did—after all, Robert Piguet Gardénia is one of my favourites and that one is a sweet animalic, powdery, rather spicy gardenia with strong bubblegum notes.

ParisLoveXo

2022 review .
This has been my favorite for YEARS
Just bought second hand another bottle
Sweet white floral powerhouse bomb .. so long lasting and great sillage . Another true masterpiece that been sadly discontinued

Erica.Cass

Beautiful smooth, powdery Bubblegum tuberose! I love it. Very good longevity !

Cxavenoir

This fragrance made me obsess about the note of tuberose. TOD smells like a confident, vibrant sensual whirlwind of a woman that wears whatever she feels like regardless of the weather or occasion and refuses to dull her shine to make other people comfortable. She is the type of woman that would move across the world for love and live her life according to her whims and fantasy.

On my skin I smell an intoxicating, syrupy tuberose that dries to a sensual, creamy, floral haze. This definitely could pass as niche and I’m glad I scored a bottle a few years ago it was well worth £40 in my opinion. I compare all the tuberose dominant scents I test to this.

chursten

I think this scent started my love for perfumes and other fragrances. I got the set as a gift in 2017, not quite sure. I used to wear whatever is available and trendy, and only settled for colognes. But now nothing has ever surpassed my love for Truth or Dare. I can’t find it anywhere and I wish I treasured my one and only bottle. I only have the lotion left.

This has a strong white floral scent but I always get asked if I’m wearing D&G Light Blue, I don’t know why because their scent profiles aren’t close. I want to find a dupe for this so bad, I’ll definitely buy lots!!!

misspotocky

Oh boy, why it was discontinued? Beautiful, heady, narcotic white floral, this fragrance began my big love for white flower perfume. I much prefer this one to Fracas, I own Fracas but something is missing there, this one hits the spot just perfectly. Niche quality and big love

HellsBelle

Jadealichious
I have good news, and bad news.
Good news: the release of this was in 2012. That means that whatever you had in 2011 (provided you are sure of the year) wasn't this, and you stand a good chance of finding whatever it was.
Bad news: people pay Hilarious prices for this on the second hand markets, since it is discontinued Perhaps it would have been better to sell it on to someone who loves it instead of throwing it away...

Jadealichious

I used to love this perfume (2011), it used to have raspberries as a top note, jasmine as a middle note and vanilla as a base note.

It used to have great projection, siillage and after 12-24 hours it would develop into a creamy skin scent, I got a lot if compliments for it.

I only had to use 1-2 sprays and that was definitely enough, never headache inducing but definitely enough to be able to fill a whole room with a faint smell.

My first bottle lasted for 5 years due to this.

And then my first bottle unfortunately ran out and I bought a new (reformulated) one online, from a real perfume store.

That's when I learned what reformulation is and it was not a great lession to recieve.

Those of you buying the reformulation, I'm sorry you will never know what an amazing scent this used to be.

To those of you who can get your hands on one of the older bottles I'm jealous, I miss this perfume every single day, it was my signature scent, everyone knew this was how I smelled.

I now have found other amazing jasmine scents that I adore and I will no longer chase this perfume because I decided to bury this one, it's now a thing of the past and I threw away the entire bottle of this trash.

The new one (2012) only lasts for 30 minutes up to 2 hours, smells like cheap, chemical, 'bathroom freshener' jasmine on the initial spray, smells quite watered out and like burnt plastic, no fruityness anywhere, no freshness, it's linear and headache inducing. But honestly if you have this bottle you could use it as bathroom spray.

I do not recommend this one to anyone.

Rosetuber

I am obsessed with this. It reminds me of something from my childhood I think women I was surrounded by wore something similar and it made me feel safe and comfortable.
The tuberose is why I came here and it's why I'm staying. A beautiful, creamy, sensual and hypnotic fragrance. Love it. I just wish it was relaunched.

BoutiqueLove

Creamy banana tubereuse.
Its smells 85% like velvet vanilla- difference being the thick milky banana base with a hint of aspartame. Velvet vanilla has a fresh green angelica note in the opening and is better balanced in my opinion making it tolerable in the long run for multiple wears.

I am impressed how extremely potent and long lasting this is and is brilliant value for money for celebrity or any perfume for that matter. Will last on clothes for days and impossible to become anosmic to it. I smelled this on my skin and clothes constantly to the point it became overwhelming and nauseating after a 14 hour shift. 2 sprays max. Everyone around u will smell this on you day and night.
Bottle is designed to resemble a catholic holy water holder. It is white opaque and slender making travel easy.
I sold mine— as much as I loved it I was just too much/cloying and I knew I would never finish the bottle. But I think it is definitely worth purchasing if u r a perfume nut like me.

shokravee

I smelled this 2 years ago because I heard a review by jeremy's fragrance saying that it was a white floral bomb and it's gorgeous. Not knowing I wasn't a white floral fan, I sprayed this on my wrist at a warehouse and it smelled exactly like toilet freshener we used to have when I was a kid and I hated it even then. This is how I realized I wasn't a white floral fan. Fast forward 2 years later I am seeing all these price tags for $350 on Amazon (???) for a bottle of this because it has been discontinued. So I knew that I had to get myself a [CHEAP] bottle; I did so by blind buying a 100 ml bottle for $60 CAD. First sniff: IT WAS BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED. Very sweet indeed. This is indeed a bomb of white florals but not like Lush - Lust; it's a sweet tuberose and jasmine. I hear people mention "bubble gummy" but it's not like that for me. Just a bit sickening; it physically makes me nauseous but it's still better than I remembered. NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART.

PirateJohannes

I got to pick through all of the stuff my older brother left behind when he moved to Germany. That's how I got the bottle of Truth of Dare. My brother is fourteen years older than me. When he was a kid, Madonna was still a big deal.
I don't think they even make Truth or Dare anymore. It's a collector's item, I'd guess. It's not even from this decade.

I offered it to my gf but she said it reminded her of something a church lady would wear to a church potluck dinner like the ones they have on the church grounds. An older sister wearing a wig from back in the day. She'd show up with crawfish boudin and dirty rice, trying to pass it off like she made all of it herself, but everyone knows she went to the cajun market on the other side of town to buy it. (And seriously? who gonna go to the trouble of making crawfish boudin when you can just buy it anyway?????) She'd bring a bakery potato pie, too. Some of my grandmother's friend do that kind of thing. They ask the bakery to put it in a pie tin they take into the shop and then sort of mash the pie around a little bit so it doesn't look all perfect, from the bakery.

Anyway, Sister Truth or Dare in her wig is trying to trap a man. She got on that sweet, nauzeating perfume that so sweet that it's like she's trying to say hey yall my honeypot still plenty sweet! But she's standing near the table with the dirty rice and crawfish boudin she brung so everyone knows she's the one brung it. After a while she smells like the dirty rice and the crawfish boudin. Dang no body wants a honey pot smelling like crawfish! Mixed in with heavy way too sweet nasty perfume.

So anyways then my gf told me her uncle would probably like it. Madonna means a lot to him. He's gay and evidently a super fan type. I gave it to him, and he seemed real happy. My gf mama told me her brother never told people he was Nuyorican until Madonna did her let's exploit the hot Rican dudes phase. So I was told. Anyway, before that he told people he was Italian. Everyone in the family still calls him Uncle Gianni out of habit, and that really sounds like Johnny to me but oh well I guess it made him feel good back in the day. He should have chosen a name like Fabio. That sounds more Italian. Doesn't matter now, I guess. So Madonna is all tied in with not being ashamed to be Rican. Pride and whatnot.

SmellsLikeMoneyWellSpent

It's the olfactive equivalent of Madonna's cone bra - sophisticated white flowers and pop cultural bubble gum. IT'S supposed to be provocative, yet turns out to be funny. Sounds slightly vintage, but it's flowery and simplistic like other modern frags. It's sweeter but reminds me Wonderlust by Michael Kors and Michalsky III By Michalsky Berlin. Also similar to Tank Plate by Replay, not the same, but the same type of frag.

TwoPetals

I don't find this fragrance similar to Fracas at all. From the cap, I can see why it is being compared to Fracas, but once you spray it on - it's a totally different experience. Truth or Dare is what it is - a celebrity fragrance. It's very sweet and in the hot and humid weather will feel sticky. Perhaps in wintertime it will open differently, will see.

ScentedTiger

This is an intense fragrance. It’s rich; it’s sweet; it’s exotic; it feels antique. Out of another time, yet somehow familiar. The backstory is that it was inspired by Robert Piguet's Fracas. It is certainly very similar to Fracas.

Many years ago, on a visit to the majestically ample fragrance department within Neiman Marcus, I discovered Fracas. I was going through a Beatnik/jazz/gardenia behind the ear phase, and after I tested it, I realized Fracas would be the perfect scent to accompany this identity. I had to have it. I ate dollar slices of pizza for lunch for a month till I finally made Fracas mine. I adored its sleek, timeless, black glass Deco-oid bottle. I loved opening the creaky medicine cabinet door in the bathroom of my slightly run down studio apartment, and seeing that chic little bottle nestling there. It was waiting to give me a moment of time-machine glamour- a welcome respite from my rather grim 80s reality. My treasured bottle of Fracas was a splash, so applying it was a ritual. You couldn’t rush it- you’d spill it, or you would use too much. And with Fracas, you didn’t need much. (Out of that era comes the memory of black turtlenecks, redolent with Fracas.)

After spraying Truth or Dare, I close my eyes and sniff. It’s not quite Fracas, it’s... I now have one of those out-of-body experiences a new perfume inspires. I am transported to an Arrakis-like desert with rolling golden hills. A huge apricot colored Sun is hanging in a yellow sky. There are domed holes in the ground- portals? that are smoking. They are emitting the dense smell of burning honey.

A young girl on a white pony appears in the distance. Her face is veiled to protect it from the wind-borne sand. She is carrying an awkward large something that has been wrapped in burlap. She walks her pony close to me, and hands me the bundle. I am surprised to find that is an enormous bouquet of fresh white flowers. Here, in the unforgiving aridity of the desert, these gorgeous blooms seem freshly picked and wet with dew. She then hands me a much smaller parcel with smiling eyes, turns, and starts back across the dunes. Inside the small package is a tiny brown cake. It is the most exquisite, chewy, spicy gingerbread-like confection.

As time passes, Truth or Dare is less smoldering honey and vanilla, and more cold soapy floral. It has departed the realm of the spicy/sweet desert land and is becoming Victorian. It's evoking wearing Mary Janes with starched white collars, and a pleated skirt. Though it is still sweeter than I first anticipated it being, as Truth or Dare simplifies, its character is becoming more and more severe.

Truth or Dare appears to have been engineered to unfold like the journey one takes from young girl to womanhood. Early on, the fragrance is sweetness and sticky treats, which gives way to a more grown-up, reserved floral reality. The benzoin reminds me of church.

Checking the fragrance notes, it is evident that Truth or Dare has somehow performed backwards on me. The vanilla and amber were the star players at the start, giving the opening that delicious dessert-like gooeyness. Now, I am left with the white florals. While lovely, they are too remote in nature for my taste.

That I liked Truth or Dare as much as I did was a bit of a surprise, because I am not crazy about tuberose. Fracas of course contains tuberose, but when I wore Fracas tuberose was never an emphasized note on me. It was all about sweet, creamy gardenia. In Truth or Dare, the tuberose is much more prominent. Though the honey-fires are still burning very faintly in the distance, Truth or Dare is now a fragrance I would not choose to wear.

If the vanilla and amber stuck around, or showed up at the conclusion of Truth or Dare, I would absolutely track down a bottle of this. It doesn’t strike me as an “everyday” fragrance- it's quite heavy- but when “every day” is spent indoors, why not wear whatever you want? But that dry-down… it’s not a scrubber- it’s just-- not me.

Truth or Dare is certainly a masterfully crafted fragrance. Even a sugar-fanged gourmand fiend like me can appreciate its time-traveling, femme fatale, white floral magnificence.

This is a beast white floral. My dry skin normally eats fragrance but I applied 4 sprays. Will stick to one or two from now on.This is definitely one of the strongest celebrity scents ever.
This smells surprisingly like Fracas, which I have a bottle of, unopened. No wonder there was talk of a lawsuit, I understand, at one point.

correspondencepersonal

This starts with a tuberose spritz that dances on the skin, it is interactively active with my chemistry -- there are only a few fragrances that do this... so this quality makes Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked - unique.

As this wears, it tones down into more of a sensuous chord on the skin... growing more quiet and faint with time. By about four hours of wear, this is hardly noticeable on my skin, but I pick up some nice musk type notes.

Madonna's Truth or Dare Perfume is like a slight modification and toned down version of the upper note high register in Kenzos L'Elephant. If you are torn about the power and strength of Kenos L'Elephant, you may find a better resonance with Madonna's Truth or Dare Perfume. They are in the same family, only different strengths and notes.

I have tried Fred Hayman's 273 this year and love the tuberose blend.
Madonna's Truth or Dare perfume wears more lightly and clearly than 273. It is an extremely sweet upper register tuberose. 273 has more of a depth with other floral notes. I love both, for different reasons. If you really LOVE tuberose, you'll really want to sample BOTH!

---------------

Update:

This perfume wears fairly close to the skin after about 2-3 hours.
However, when I woke up this morning, this scent (although fairly soft and faint) was still ON MY SKIN! Wow... this wore over 15 hours on my skin and I could still pick up a faint trace of it this morning when I woke up. That's pretty amazing!

Madonna has a good nose for fragrance. I will continue to wear these two samples and see how this goes and what the response it when I wear it. Lovely so far. Both are definitely worth sampling to see if they blend with your chemistry!

Zethre

Very nice sweet (but not sugary), creamy effervescent tuberose rounded out with white flowers and vanilla. Similar to Roger & Gallet Tuberose Hedonie or Miller Harris Tuberosa

mellyv1973

This has to be one of the best celebrity scents ever made. It is an absolutely beautiful, bubble gummy tuberose that has moderate longevity and sillage. My daughter says I smell like candy when I wear this one and she thinks it smells great. That has to mean something coming from a 16 year old who either says my perfume stinks or thinks my perfume is "basic". I really wish this fragrance was never discontinued. Bring it back so others can enjoy it as much as I do!

parfymeentusiasten

Where do I start with this one?

What I like is that it's STRONG and lasts FOREVER. I am very impressed with the quality in that sense. I like strong perfumes like that, it feels generous and especially for the price. Great value.

Now the scent it self... I get bubble gum and flowers and I don't know what to feel about that! It's nice I guess but it also feels... fun? Like not so serious but also very serious because of the strength? That combination makes me scratch my head.

Now, I like fun! Don't get me wrong! But I can't imagine a setting where this perfume really fits. If I got all dolled up in a nice dress and heels, Truth or Dare would be a bit too fun for me. And it's way to strong for work!

I have tried layering other perfumes over this one and that works like a charm! Truth or Dare is perfect when you want to put a weaker fragrance "on steriods".

I don't know, Madonna. I am confused! I will keep it though.

ozywaters

This seems to be a love it or hate it perfume and personally I hate it. I love Madonna but I detest this perfume, and that’s a lot for me to say because out of the many perfumes I have, this is the only one I can definitely say I hate. It’s strange because white florals are actually my absolutely favorite category of fragrance, but this is one is headache inducing from the start. The white florals smell so dry, rubbery, stale to me that as much as I want to appreciate it I just can’t, and it’s so strong. I do love the bottle tho, it’s very elegant imo, but the scent completely overwhelms me. Anyway, for those who do like this discontinued perfume, I have a 50mL gift set that comes with a lotion and shower gel that have never been used, and the perfume has barely ever been sprayed so I’m willing to sell it to somebody. Just dm me and we can negotiate.

Josesalinas

Holy grail tuberose scent!! Buttery, bubblegum, green, creamy incredibly creamy!!! The most luminous pure Tuberose not alkaline or mushroomy or black tire rubber like that stupid fracas just the smell of intense happiness...

moderndandy_swap

This one is surprisingly good, and a quality is surprisingly high. I didn't expect that, but I would choose this one over Love Tuberose, Orchid Soleil and other sweet tuberose scents. It is very different from Fracas, IMO, and Truth or Dare sits somewhere close to Armani Rouge and Vert Malachite. This one and Terracota are the best sweet white florals out there!

onimoka

My Gosh! Its reminds me very strongly about Versace Blonde! From very first spray til the very end, wich is not even near, by the way. Long lasting fragrance.

fangpili

Inthemist, probably similar to the classic ''Fracas''

AaronStar

Madonna means girl in italian but it also represents Mary the mother of God, the scent is milky and evokes grace. It is also sensual, carnal, it is that tuberose that makes it so, fleshy and sexual. The bouquet of white flowers evokes all things memorable, wedding bouquets, and funeral bouquets, white bouquets in hotels, things special, things memorable, in Madonna's words,'' something to remember''. She spoke about these things at the Macy's presentation, it's a scent to make the mind reflect, she spoke of her mother and the memories she had of her and her perfume, special memories. But at the same time, there is a sensual aspect to this perfume, again the carnal flower, that musk, combined makes it sexy, erotic, like the passion and warmth on the night of marriage, again a memorable, comforting feeling. Lastly grief, like the lilies in a funeral, it is reflective, warm, and comforting in a sober way, I hope all this makes sense. She could have well named this perfume something to remember, something to remember. The cross symbol and bottle shape evokes spirituality which gives validity to what I am trying to portray.

Inthemist

Does anybody know to which perfume this one is similar to? Because it's not available anymore:(

lumberjack

@theLady
Thousands of people "love" to wear the perfume that you identify as "crap, cheap, tacky, plastic garbage".
As a matter of fact lots of people wear it as a signature... You don't have to love it, just show respect a bit.

Would you like it when someone uses those adjectives for your signature scent?

Have a lovely day.

fyetan

A sweet white floral with great longevity and sillage. A bit bubblegum, a bit soap.
Very likable.

guimaraesalves

it smells like a powerful woman would, just like Madonna herself.

lindsaybirddrums

Love love LOVE this perfume! It's a beast in terms of performance for sure, lasts days on my skin and clothes! Beautiful bottle... elegant smell for sure, was worried about getting an old lady vibe but NOPE. Smells modern and elegant. This one is a keeper for sure :)

Hd_Diana

This was a blind buy like pretty much my entire wardrobe because of the hype. I do not like it at all and I tried, alone and layered. I’m not an expert in perfumes, I can’t distinguish subtle notes in a perfume only the obvious ones and here what I smell is just tuberose. I want to mention that I’m just starting to appreciate floral perfumes and I never enjoyed perfumes with a dominant tuberose note. I don’t perceive it as a sweet or bubblegumy or candy like, just tuberose. Pros: It’s very loud and long lasting.

DanielJD

So, my first review on Fragrantica!

Little background info, I remember when this launched in the UK, I was working in a well known retail store at the time and spritzed some onto a tester strip... I HATED it, right from the start, I didn’t bother to revisit it until earlier this year when I was ordering a few things online, I needed some shower gel and this was going for £5 so decided to purchase it... long story short, I used the shower gel and and the scent that surrounded me was pure luxury! So, I decided to go for it and order a bottle for around £50, bare in mind my thoughts back in 2012... I now adore it! My nose has definitely changed course. It starts off as a potent mixture of creamy tuberose and I can detect the burnt caramel (I’m a guy btw) LOVE LOVE LOVE. Such a shame it’s now discontinued, I have ordered a backup.

amandorlait

I wish Madonna would bring back this gorgeous tuberose perfume. It's like an easy-going, gentler Fracas.

Wwoman

Wow is this sweet. I'm not sure if it's my funky skin chemistry or not, but you would never know how sweet this is by the notes and accords on this fragrance's page. A few people made the comparison to bubblegum, and I have to unfortunately agree. This is for people who like sweet white florals, I doubt anyone else will truly appreciate this fragrance. If sweet isn't your thing, then steer clear.

AdamAntifa

This smells nothing like Fracas, the comparisons are all marketing. This smells cheap and scratchy, the resinous notes are so rough and the florals have a terrible overripe banana quality.

The chosen

yummy yummy sweet floral babe.

madonna is my favorite and remains my favorite. i love this and i wish it's not discontinued

gpaisley

Madonna - TRUTH or DARE to me is a strong, bold, beautifully blended, banana leaf fragrance. The projection and lasting power are excellent. The fragrance is quite linear as the opening notes and heart smell very similar to the dry down hours later.

patricia.w.lancaster

This is the delicious Fracas overlaid with a vile chemical belch. To be avoided

churinl

I have the most current version of Fracas, and Shhhhhhh!!! - don't tell anyone, but I actually prefer Truth or Dare! I was gifted a bottle by an old Fragrantica buddy, tried it once, liked it, but put it aside in its box, thinking that I might wait a few years and sell it on Ebay once it becomes harder to find. After all, I had the mother of all tuberoses, andfelt no need to wear any pretenders to the throne. Recently, my curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to give it a little test. I was stunned because while it definitely resembles Fracas, I think it's softer and creamier. It still packs a punch, and like others, I get a large amount of gardenia (or tuberose masquerading as gardenia), but it lacks some note in Fracas that I find to be a bit cold and off putting. Don't get me wrong - I still love Fracas and respect the hell out of it for it's audacity and place in perfume history, but I can see myself reaching for T&D when I want something I can enjoy just for myself. I am not much for celebrity scents, but IMHO, this one ranks as the best, with apologies to Liz Taylor and her Passion and White Diamonds. BTW - I also find myself enjoying Kim Kardashian's first fragrance as well, which has a similar vibe as T&D and Fracas, with the advantage of better longevity. I don't have it but would definitely purchase it if the price was right!

KayleeAp

I knew this one would be a gamble as its definitely a love or hate type of fragrance. I went for it because I tend to like white florals. I envy those who love it because it has wonderful performance, even for one spray. To me it is a heavy and cloying artificial banana smell. It smells like something else of my childhood that I can't quite pinpoint. I certainly don't want to smell like a fake banana. This is, agreed, the complete opposite of ToD Naked, which I adore.

aris1223

Just received this in the mail today . This reminds me of a lighter version of Mancera’s Velvet Vanilla . It has that same bubblegum tuberose vibe. In my opinion this is a more wearable version compared to VV. This is sweet , creamy , a bit sultry. I really enjoy this and glad I have it in my collection!

sevde.kasa

I'm suprised that no one talked about how much it smells like milk !?
Quite similar to Zadig&Voltaire This is Her!

Sherine777

Why did they discontinue this? I really don't get it!
There's plenty of people who love it!
And there's plenty of Sugar-Bomb-Low-Quality-Headache-Inducing Celeb scents that ought to be discontinued instead..

This Smells Fabulous!

But I wanted to tell you that I sprayed it one time on my arm in the morning and now it's after midnight and I am smelling a beautiful resiny ambery wafts around me, it took me a while to realize that it was this single spray still projecting after 12+ hours!

Now this is what I call performance.

Why was it discontinued again?

Anamandy

Not coming to Danica's defense but just want to say I seem to have the same issue she does with this fragrance, as far as smelling, or rather not smelling, the tuberose. It smells like straight gardenia to me too. I even wrote a post here a while back questioning whether I got a fake. Believe me, I'm not an expert on tuberose, but I do have a few - Tubereuse Criminelle, Fracas, Datura Noir, Champs Lunaires, Flos Mortis, Michelle, White Shoulders, Secret Obsession, Kim Kardashian, Carolina Herrera, and my absolute favorite, Elie Saab Essence No. 9 Tuberose, and some more that don't easily spring to mind at the moment. Additionally, I have a very expensive pure tuberose distillation extract. Every scent I mentioned I can smell the tuberose, but I can not in this fragrance. (I also have the same issue with Michael Kors too.) It just might be something with me, and with Danica, that makes us nose blind to that note in this scent.

As far as her grandma comment, I'm sure she didn't mean it in a derogatory way (I hope), and probably meant it to mean dated and old fashioned. She is a new member after all, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that she didn't intend to sound hurtful.

Austrian_in_Denmark

Pretty! But not at all what I would have expected from Madonna - who I see as pop with a bit of edge.

There is no edge here. Truth Or Dare is extremely girly on my skin. It smells of a pink chewing gum that I liked, when I was litte, so to me it smells like childhood. Nice enough, but not what I want for every day. Also, it is so over-the-top sweet on me, that it might actually be a bit (*whispers*) too much.
Wow, I cannot believe I just wrote that. Too sweet... for ME?
Maybe I should try and layer Truth Or Dare with something tart, like lemon or grapefruit.

I have never tried Fracas, but I have an old mini of Versace's Blonde, and the latter is quite similar to Truth or Dare. Blonde is more 80´s of course, with the civet and the carnation, but the tuberose is identical to me.

The quality of this scent is amazing: it is very longlasting and has heavy sillage.

Konga5000

I just read another nice review on here-- which is nudging me to declare that this DOES NOT smell like Fracas. Fracas is more on the "butter" side with a lot more complexity. Truth or Dare is more on the "bubblegum" side--and very linear. There is no mystique to TOD. It's a photo of Madonna hitch-hiking on the side of the road naked , chewing Bazooka original flavor. That said , I can only ad that TOD gathers a lot of power when you leave the bottle alone for a while! Let it sit. My old bottle is quite strong now. Oh how I miss the days of when this was at Marshall's for ....$19.99. I feel like crying...... One of the TOP TEN Celebrity scents of all time, that got discontinued right when Madonna's creativity started to evaporate. Nothing lasts forever.

mystica

I indeed find this superb. It is strong with good longevity; sweet, fleshy, musky, flowery, slightly leathery, a bit resinous, and bubblegum-like. Ultra feminine! Fun and assertive, young at heart. Oh, and sexy... I can't stop smelling my wrists.

qofb

I bought this secondhand from eBay for just a few pounds as it's hard to find now in the UK. It feels very comforting to me, mainly gardenia with a hint of tuberose and dry, sour orange, likely the neroli, with a warm, musky dry down.

I really like it, but it does feel like it's of another time, vintage, with all of those strong white florals. I smell it and imagine white gloves and wide skirts off to church in pillbox hats.

Avian

This juice WILL attract bees. Just a warning. It does not smell particularly natural, but insects love it and its has a far throw so they come from all over to find it. Big beautiful white flowers swimming through a vat of white chocolate. Extremely sweet, toeing the line of cloying, but also intensely floral. I wish it had more facets. Something sharp or bitter. As is, it can smother you. At the same time, I keep wanting to sniff it!

Atomikbomb_

Chewy, gummy, addictive...I'm getting impressions of a nearly tangible mouth-feel for this fragrance. Some fragrances have a real texture to them, and this feels like those adjectives to me. It has substance.

The tuberose and gardenia are really nice and plushy, and I only get a small amount of other florals. I'm really pleased that it's not a jasmine or freesia bomb, and I now see why it's regarded as an outlier amongst celebrity perfumes.

The vanilla with caramel is slightly run of the mill, but again, more textured than most and the harmony with the florals is tastefully done. I get a lot of musk if I sniff my shirt after the drydown, but none at all wafting up toward me. I smell the tuberose with gardenia quite heavily, but no musk in the air. It's very strange, because upclose it's *all* I smell. It's almost like this scent has different nearsighted or farsighted profiles.

This fragrance is soft and approachable in my opinion (I don't care about celebrities really though, so I'm only aimlessly musing). I'm impressed with the performance of this very much, the lasting power is remarkable and the sillage seems to be a 7/10.

HennaQueen

First of all...the bottle, which I love. It's like a cross between a milk-glass flask of liquor and a vessel for holy water. As for the actual scent itself, I find this to be a simpler, sweeter version of Fracas. TOD is a big, beautiful sweet white floral featuring Gardenia and Tuberose. The Vanilla makes it bubble-gum sweet but not overly saccharine. I am on my third bottle already. It is getting harder to find, like her Naked fragrance. So if you like it, snap it up soon!

bel.gravia

A true white floral with heady vanilla and precious balsams somewhere underneath. That is Madonna's Truth or Dare summed up. On the first spray, I swear it reminded me of some exquisite niche fragrance, and of course, it is Fracas. I can't really compare the two, since it's been a long time when I sniffed Fracas but the very fact that Truth or Dare conjured up an image of it says a lot. And it says positive. The beginning is extremely promising a true dare, but the drydown is the truth, a celebrity scent. Some note seems at odds, sour, sticking out as if it should not be there, but bearing in mind that the perfumer Stephen Nilsen had presented Madonna with 200 samples until she chose THE ONE, I do not want to complain. Besides, the matter is, her fragrance is a mass product, for an affordable price - one cannot expect a masterpiece like Creed or Kilian or Amouage. It is not so much of an projection and longevity monster but hey. So, yes, heady heavy blooming, luscious white flowers with some intoxicating mesmerizing vanilla and the soft caramel sweetness of benzoin. I am speaking about the white bottle, though, loving it, I want to get Truth or Dare Naked too!

HollywoodNovaBaby

This to me smells similar to Kim Kardashian original. Bubblegum Tuberose but KK is more gummy and sweeter.. I think KK is stronger than this stuff. It’s cheaper too

CreamSunshine

Previous reviewer commented that this is reminiscent of CD Poison. Now, while I’m wearing Truth or Dare on my forearm... I totally see it. I owned a bottle of Poison back in 2006, and I think I remember the scent pretty well. Truth or Dare is smelling like Poison with the plum and rose notes missing!! Kudos to the reviewer Arida for making that connection, I’m not sure my brain would have noticed that similarity since the two perfumes have been marketed and packaged so differently.
I guess you could wear Truth or Dare in the daytime, then add a spritz of Poison in the evening to sex it up.

rosegoldrosie

I had a little body lotion of this, and it smelt AMAZING. Strong notes of white florals especially tuberose, with some musk in there too. Lasted forever too! I wish I could smell the perfume too, as the body lotion itself impressed me that much. Reminds me of a strong, confident woman.

Nataliemarie

I LOVE THIS!! The sweet bubblegummy take here is what has me hooked! I have never smelled Fracas, wow, now that is on my to do list :) I have had Versace Blonde in the past & boy is that screechy, so I don't get that they are similar. I gave that away. This may be my favororite Tuberose scent along with EL Tuberose Gardenia, but that one is exxxpensive~ I even have a large backup of this in case I can't find it anymore, or they change it.

babypoison

i like madonna, shes very passionate and decdicated to her job.i dont normally buy celeb perfume, but due to my respect to her and the crazy ratings here, i decided to give it a go to blind buy. i owm fracas and carnal flower, both which i like, but it smells nothing like them (in fact carnal is one of my top 5 favs, i even own a few bottles of it) i dont know wts wrong with truth or dare- i really wanted to like it but it just doesnt do it for me. and to make things worse, with its astonishing lasting power that lingers so strongly, even with 2 spritz it gives me intense migraine.

pinnock22

Well I emailed Coty and asked if they would be bringing this fragrance back anytime soon and they said no.... If anyone in the UK has a bottle of this they would like to donate I'd be very grateful lol

Lom

I think this perfume was kind of misunderstood when it came out. It is rather unique, risky, and calming at once. It is definitely a dare for Madonna.

Kaleidosaur

Suuuuuper heavy white floral. Very unique and personal to be a celebrity perfume! The scent is creamy and clean. The drydown has a candy sweetness that sort of reminds me of Gucci Rush, which I hate, but Truth or Dare is definitely more pleasant.

klix27

Smells niche, very longlasting, huge sillage, cheap too. The tuberose is so dominant, which i sometimes cant bear it.

I tried to put it on, but finally i found it to be more on the feminine side. With outstanding lasting power and sillage, i dont think a man needs a perfume as strong as this that smells rose all day.

But i must say, this is of high quality that women must have.

SaturnSmiled

I thought I would leave this 'review' here for people who love the scent but are now finding it difficult to source due to discontinuation and pricing. Here in the UK we have a company called Al-Aneeq and they have an oil called White Gardenia. It's a dupe for this! (Not Fracas) I believe it can be accessed outside of the UK, but I'm not sure. I found it by accident. I just bought it for the gardenia and was gleeful to discover how much like ToD it smells. Give it a try if you can, its about £5 for the 10ml oil. Strong, long lasting, only a bit is needed so 10ml will take you very far.

Still bummed this is discontinued. It's truly an amazing scent.

Eugenia Olesen

Loud and shameless like Madonna herself. The battle of my two favourite white flowers – tuberose and gardenia. Sexy creamy vanilla. Reminds me of Orchid Soleil Tom Ford. Devastated that is has been discontinued… why?!! … Great smell.

Anamandy

Either I got a bad bottle or I have a fake but it smells like Jovan Gardenia to me. Same buttery consistency too. If this is the fragrance that it's supposed to be a powerhouse than I don't know what everyone is talking about. This actually seems very light to me. I got my bottle from eBay so not sure how authentic it really is. I really need to get a sample from an authentic bottle. Anyone willing to share a small bit for comparison purposes?

Edit -
Thanks to all those who responded to my request. I accepted one offer for help (thanks Cynthia!) to figure out if I have a legitimate product or a fake. I would like to thank all those who also responded. I am so proud of our wonderfully generous community. We have some of the best people in the world participating here and I am happy to be a part of such a wonderful community of people.

Review to follow later.

8/17/19 - Okay, I received my decant from the very generous fragrantnista and did a side by side testing and my bottle smells almost the same. Her sample opens a little sweet with citrus but then smells like my bottle. My bottle opens straight to gardenia and then I smell a little bit of sweet citrus, but they both wind up in the same place at the heart and base of the fragrance, so I am assuming I don't have a fake. To be honest I'm not crazy about this scent. I was hoping for more tuberose which I am beginning to really like in a scent. All I seem to be smelling is gardenia, gardenia, and more gardenia. Last week while food shopping a woman was wearing Juicy Couture and I think it smelled better than this. It certainly was more interesting to me. Too bad that line has such a bad rap as kiddie juice. What that woman was wearing certainly didn't smell kiddie to me. It almost smelled like a niche scent. Too bad this doesn't. Oh well!

Fragbrunettehead

So beautiful, rich smelling. Really sad this is now discontinued. Madonna please re-release this! Always getting compliments as it has monster projection. Creamy, sweet sometimes bubblegum-esque tuberose. Reminds me of summer and happy times.

Miss X

As a discontinued and every day more "rare" fragrance I think it could be a nice wedding perfume for a bride. I used to think of Baiser Vole, The One or Narciso (the white cube) as the best options, but Madonna's ToD is just bold, floral(motherly flowers), sacred or virginal (the bottle), mystical (as a waxy candle), rich, classical, royal, unique, original, romantic, sexy, sweet (as the cake), young, feminine and white enough, as a religious bride is. Also, it performs great in hot and cold weather (as a tiaré oil it can be summery or cozy), it's longlasting, and it's not an everyday perfume, it seeks special occasions where you have a day ahead to be remembered with happy memories (with something as evocative as a perfume to be worn again in anniversaries or while you need to keep or recreate that bride-status).
Maybe there are women who would rather to wear Fracas, but I wouldn't wear a fragrance with such name (meaning weak in portuguese, failure in spanish, war or violent noise in french) on my wedding day… nevertheless, Truth or Dare (to be honestly faithful and decide to commit forever) are the two main purposes or sacraments on that day.
The only problem would be when applying, as it stains white fabric. It would have to be applied directly on skin.

Jomoves

The last great celebrity fragrance.

At the time I wasn't so impressed and now I know just how wrong I was. It's big, bold, in-your-face-and-mine-too! Creamy florals with a sweet caramel bubblegum note.

What makes it great is that it really is like Madonna. A bit 80s and bit 90s, with a European edge and a dose of American syrup. When this came out I worked near a factory outlet and bought the gift set and the big bottle for a steal, just because they were cheap and I liked the design.

One of the best perfume decisions I've ever made!

Carpe Noctem

My god this is gorgeous!! I have Fracas and Carnal flower and I prefer this. It’s sweet bubblegummy tuberose that really packs a punch! This is addicting, voluptuous and narcotic. I bought a back up bottle-something I rarely do!

LisaWB

I’m kind of on the fence about this one. I was good this time and ordered a sample instead of a full bottle and I’m glad I did. Everyone so far talked about how floral this is but to me it’s very fruity! Admittedly I’m not training at picking out notes and maybe it’s a specific flower but it threw me for a loop. It’s not bad by any means but nothing like I expected. I don’t think I’ll be buying a full bottle, I just have others I like more.

hunkysteph

There are no words to express how sad I am that this perfume has been discontinued.

This was the very first perfume that I truly fell in love with. It is so bold, strong, in your face. The longevity is unreal, the sillage is sickening. God, Madonna needs to create a new fragrance with this same white floraly, creamy fantasy. I miss it dearly.

nellyrlight

Amazing tuberose..Incredible staying power. I really enjoy it.

Rosemary14

Man this is a statement perfume! It’s very strong floral. It’s almost too much. I picture a seriously glamorous chic slightly avant guard boss lady wearing this. I picture white skin, red lips, white hair, white Galliano Dior women’s suit, and a very cool attitude. I’d say it fits Madonna very much in that way that it’s very Extra like that. It’s very sweet from the vanilla, benzoin, and caramel amber. This along with the strong florals that are almost spicy give it a sour note like a sweet tart candy. The floral is so strong that it goes right to the point of being like lily of the valley in that industrial strength sharp floral clean way. Almost takes it to that sharp LOTV way but not quite. But the musk and the benzoin give it some smoothness too. It’s almost like candied flowers with musk thrown in. I can see myself wearing this in a situation where I really want to be noticed.

MnM

I really like Madonna's Naked version and thought I'd like this one too, I didn't, I found it to be too sweet and very heavy on the floral and very cloying. My daughter loved it so I promptly gifted it to her;turns out it, it dries rather nicely into a nice floral- nothing screeching and cloying about it. Who knew? Still, not something I would reach for.

Update: I have it again in my collection.

So this gem finally arrived the other day after being on my want list for a minute… I found this for super cheap, new, on a discounted Russian website, like 15$ for a full size bottle.
Now, I feel like writing two reviews, one about what I was expecting and the second about what I got, since I had very specific expectations after reading sooo many reviews here.

The main things I have read here are that this is very white floral (the word tuberose appears over 500 times), very overpowering,
very long-lasting, and very well blended, unique and high quality.

I agree, this is well-blended, and long-lasting, but I can't really say this is overpowering, or unique.

At first spray, this immediately made me think of suntan lotion, the beach, tiare flower. Very reminiscent of Monoi de Tahiti by Yves Rocher, Terracotta by Guerlain, Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford even. Suntan lotion vibe, sun notes, the feeling of fresh skin after having taken a shower after a day at the beach.
Tiare flower is indeed a white flower, but I really cannot detect any tuberose, or jasmine, or any other white florals except creamy tiare. I can also smell a hint of coconut.

Now, when I imagine a fragrance to be overpowering, I imagine Scandal by Night by JPG, or Angel by Mugler. One spray that fills the room and simply cannot be unnoticed. Is this the same? Barely. Truth or Dare, in my opinion, can be sprayed freely. Maybe not 10 sprays like very fresh and airy fragrances, but hardly one careful spray like actually overpowering fragrances.

It is indeed long-lasting, but in a subtle kind of way, it dries down to a skinscent very rapidly. It is noticeable (not infuriatingly fleeting), but it is not a headturner, it's very subtle and gentle.

In conclusion, I really like this fragrance, I am very happy to own it and it is my own personal beach in a bottle kind of fragrance. Suitable for any season, but I imagine myself wearing this on Summer nights, it really reminds me of the beach, the sun, tropical islands...

Sabretoothkitten

Had it, didn't love it, swapped it. Loved the white floral part, the bubblegum sweetness, not so much. But and bold though like Madge! Still...sad this has been discontinued. Buy it now while it's not $100.

ParisLoveXo

Bought this years ago and it became my signature , unfortunately it got discontinued but you can still find it on amazon .
Rich , Creamy , sugary vanilla sweet, Heavy White Floral
Literally nothing like I’ve ever smelled
Long lasting, heavy silage
Truley a Staple in my collection

Prissypuss

I bought this in an auction for crazy cheap mostly because time was about to run out and I could. I didn't expect much. Just a celebrity fragrance, cheap enough to be worth a try.
A few days later it comes, and I spritz it on expecting nothing. It was hooked. FLOORED. This smells so rich, decadent and heady like burying your nose into the whitest, purest bouquet of hothouse white flowers and vanilla. It reminds me very much of Dior Addict. Creamy sweet.

AaronStar

Heavenly sweet, white caramel.

onebadbaby

Is this discontinued- I can't seem to find it any more?

ifrancis

spray it as you take a bath or shower and spray it on your towel. you will end up with a luminous green not screechy/heavy version of this perfume.
it's pretty divine.

FilleDeParfum

This is a powerhouse. I'm not sure if I am in love with it though. It's a strong white floral at first, almost a bit too strong. One spray is all you need, seriously, don't overdo this perfume. Eventually it fades into a comforting vanille.

This was a blind buy for me and very affordable, so no regrets there. In comparison to Fracas, this perfume is not as buttery but I can see the similarities.

AaronStar

It is a light perfume, I am not sure where people are getting such reaction about it being strong, nuclear or such. It is light, both testers and nontesters.TOD is a light fragrance, its freshness and sweetness is long-lasting as it lingers on the skin, but this is no bomb.

Alright, I thought about it as I used it today and I concede, it is strong, it is lengthy and it does project, after all it is an Eau de parfum and not a toilette. So yes, I concede, it is strong, perhaps not nuclear or atomic, but it holds its strength, so there.

Blueflowers

Bubblegummy white florals, in nuclear strength.

Is it Fracas? Nope, but you can tell it wanted to be.

Lightly sprayed, and sniffed from a distance, it is a sweet cloud of syrupy florals. Up close it is roaring gardenia and vanilla-saccharine air freshener.

I like it—but I’m partial to white florals, syrupy sweetness, and raging sillage; and I don’t mind things that are overtly synthetic if they are otherwise pleasing.

I also like the bottle a bit more than I used to, I don’t care for opaqueness, but it looks like a lost little pope on my perfume shelf.

hopevilla

Years ago, I was lurking, slightly shamefaced, in the celebrity fragrance corner of a department store, having spent a whole afternoon sampling 'fancier' smells and sighing over their price tags. Picked this up absentmindedly and took a deep sniff AND PHYSICALLY RECOILED. It cut through my nasal fatigue and all of the other smells clawing at my senses after a full day of using my arm as a giant tester strip and punched me right in the nose.

To be clear, this is a good thing for me. I hate insipid smells and long for different, powerful scents. But damn... this was different!

Back then, all I could smell was some sort of rich, dark, unidentified thing that was so offputting that I actually carefully put the bottle (awesome bottle, btw) down and walked away.

Now, years later and after its been discontinued, I have a better appreciation for smells and a vivid memory of the effect that this had on me, so I tracked down a bottle online.

Sadly, I am disappointed. That crazy smell I remember is the benzoin and it is truly, disgustingly sweet. Someone took tuberose (jasmine doesnt exist here - dont lie to me) and candied it. Its rotting slowly under a think, sugary layer of gummy resin.

I've since learned that I *loathe* gourmand fragrances, so it makes sense that the sugary-vanilla-ness of this juice makes me feel ill.

The flowers (I use the pural but, again, all I smell is creamy, fat, tuberose) last for ages, but eventually (sadly) lose the battle to a vanilla and amber basenote. I might prefer this if the evolution was the other way round - if the flowers grew and the sweetness retreated. Worst of all, this sickly sweet smell is...cheap. I hate saying that about fragrances, even the low-cost ones, but its true here in relation to the edible notes. I get the "banana/bubblegum" vibes the other reviewers talk about; refined sugar in cheap candy.

That being said, I will defend its artistry to the death purely because it IS different and powerful - far better than far more expensive sugar bombs. I feel like someone more well put together than me could make this work for them; it needs to be worn with wild abandon, but whenever I use it (because I still pick up the bottle, it is addictive) I feel like it is wearing me.

(Side note: not a Madonna fan, but couldnt care less that this has her name on it.).

GardeniaLover

Literally a newly bloomed gardenia, spreading its soft, white petals. Literally, the perfect gardenia scent ever, it is a day gardenia, and it is just the flower only. If you want a night gardenia with the dew, leaves, and stems, then it is Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia.

zara0203

Great perfume and performance, a bargain at that price! There's a lot, a ton of tuberose, jasmine is well presented and sensual. Can't really detect any vanilla, as the flowers are so overwhelming. It reminds me to Amarige, but much sweeter and wearable. Unfortunately I can't pull it off, too white, too floral and too sweet. Glad I've only bought a sample!

AnnieT303

Yikes. This does seem to be a fairly "unique" scent - I've smelled nothing like this before. I find this sickeningly sweet. Like a mass of Hubba Bubba that's been marinating in a vat of cheap vanilla....stew??

Anyway, ish. But then I'm not a fan of the beloved Lancome La Vie Est Belle L'Eclat either which to me is straight-up cotton candy from start to finish.

AaronStar

A tester I got, smelled like Gardenia mostly, very light and sweet, perfection.
A non tester I smelled like tuberose/neroli, strong and vanillic, great but different.
The tuberose in this fragrance is carnal, sensual, that and the musk makes it very erotic, or should I say, ''erotica''.

GardeniaLover

Romantic, heavenly, passionate breath...
Beautiful, sexy and tender, love and passion.

AHeartLikeMine

This is the newest addition to my Want list. It's a lovely low-key tuberose/gardenia powerhouse. It has decent projection/sillage and is just as powerful at 4 hours after application as at 1 hour, but the fragrance has evolved gently fading away from the white florals to a gentle vanilla/amber undertone.

Azula

My neighbour’s gardenia bush is in full bloom and after inhaling their intoxicating, dense and creamy aroma, I realised exactly where I’ve smelled that scent before: Madonna’s Truth or Dare. Truth or Dare is the smell of Australian gardenias and powdered banana bubblegum; a true white floral gourmand.

batgirl.27

No, it's not Fracas, although it is very much inspired by it. Think of it as the sweeter, lighter and more innocent little sister to Fracas.

The opening is where the greatest similarity between the fragrances exists, with the blowzy blown out tuberose and gardenia, but this tends to fade out much faster and smells very different on the dry-down. As you'd expect for this price, the sillage and longevity do not compare to that of Fracas, but they are very pleasant nonetheless.

This is really really lovely, and its a great shame it's been discontinued. It's very sensual in an understated way, and I find it very wearable for daytime (unlike Fracas). It was also cheap enough to douse yourself in, if that's what you like (I do!) If you see bottles on sale anywhere - stockpile!!

GardeniaLover

The musk and lily should have higher votes but the main vote should be for the gardenia. My gardenias have not bloomed until recent rains, I just bought TOD and smelled my newly blooming gardenias, and I tell you this perfume is a perfect gardenia, that just opened its petals, white, soft and indolic. I am not sure why tuberose is voted more, the gardenia is really the star note here, I could not believe my senses but it is true. TOD smells like a true gardenia.
I have Taylor's Gardenia, that is more green, sweeter, a more ripe gardenia, a gardenia in a garden, you can smell the leaves, the dew. Madonna's is just the flower itself, like smelling directly into it when it is newly bloomed, perfect, romantic, wonderful.

Blue_Lilac

Love this perfume! It’s the perfect blend of white florals, vanilla, and a teeny bit of musk. It’s soft, warm, and creamy with pretty good sillage. This was a blind buy for me and I’m so glad I took a chance on it. It’s a major plus that it’s a cheapie, although I’m upset to learn it was discontinued. I’m going to order a couple more bottles to stock up as it’s become one of my favorites. I enjoy Gardenia by Elizabeth Taylor, but it feels very linear to me and more green/less warmth, ToD reminds me of Gardenia with more complexity and coziness. It’s very sweet, but doesn’t smell like a typical celeb fragrance, it’s classy and the sweetness can be described as a candied tuberose. It’s a really feminine scent and it feels mature in a positive way. It makes me feel very glam when I wear it. The bottle looks cheap but I actually like the shape and thinness of it. This will for certain become one of my signature scents.

katrinawhitney

This smells almost identical to Orchid Soleil to me. It has that same almost cornchid vibe to it, haha, but nonetheless its definitely good.

louiee

How can I have not liked this before. When it was launched in 2012 I wrinkled my nose...
Tried it again now in a blind buy...And now I totally adore it. Soft, gardenia, tuberose and vanilla... maybe my senses have matured.
Strong silage and amazing longevity.
I love Madonna and I love her scent.
This is absolutely not a cheap smelling celebrity scent. This is worth every penny and more.
Madonna and her scent for President.
Femininity and sexy bottled up in a beautiful wrapping.
A pride in my bathroom.

AaronStar

Grown up with Madonna and my favorite flower is Gardenia, I bought it just now, I look forward to posting my experience.
Just hope it is not a Cabotine like an experience with a loud tuberose, which I will surely not enjoy.

Powdery, clean, ethereal white flowers, with a caramel, sweet backdrop. Musk and amber all hold the bouquet of precious white flowers as a vase. Very elegant, very sweet, very sexy.

I smell gardenia, neroli, lily, tuberose all together as one voice, one bouquet that is in sync with beauty and grace.

Sometimes I can hear the gardenia, sometimes the neroli, the tuberose, the lily seems to be very strong and I do like that. A very waxy, spicy lily and green white gardenia, very floral in a heavenly white way, a sweet perfume with ethereal elegance. A bouquet of flowers and candy to be gifted for happiness.

It sits close to the skin and lasts about 1 to 3 hours, it is discontinued and bottles are 5 years old if found online as testers.

MADONNA- Truth or Dare.

Konga5000

Prices keep going UP. Buy it before it's $100.00 a bottle. I ain't joking!

Fragolina2018

This opens with a glorious burst of something plastic, it's the synthetic of disco, night club superficial all dressed up, where synthetic is to love and I do love this.It doesn't take long for the Madonna Deeper and Deeper to get Sweeter and Sweeter though. The full bloom of white flowers suddenly wafts in in all its feminine glory to blow away the initial delicious fakery. There is no holds barred Tuberose and gardenia and I am overcome with a tiare too, a halo of pure innocence after initial lift off. Truth or Dare is like waking up to your saintly self the day after the night before. It's seeing your face after the make up comes off. This perhaps is the truth after the dare. Just wish the truth still held a little whiff of its dirty opening but it will surround you in a bouquet that stays suprisingly close to the skin. She's a pale beauty and probably pales in comparison to Fracas but this fragrance is to be considered in its own right. Just as you dress in her petals and glory in your own sweetness, the word "discontinued" ruins the moment yet again.

sitingqueen

I braced myself for a vulgar olfactory assault from the tuberose, which is one of my favorite scents. I was expecting overkill from Madonna, and was pleased at the restraint. This is a very tasteful and subdued white floral with moderate sillage and is long lasting.

I have Fracas,Giorgio,Sand and Sable,Liz Taylor Gardenia,Amarige,Two versions of Jungle Gardenia,Island Gardenia, Gardenia Passion and Carnal Flower. Yes, I love tuberose. I am very happy to have added this to my collection.

Truth or Dare is not cloying nor is it heavy handed. The tuberose is not screechy at all,but softly indolic. It most resembles Carnal Flower(without the depth and coconut) which I know will be perceived as sacrilege.

I usually get snooty about celebrity scents but this one is very, very good. I saw it referenced in a Fragrantica article and took a chance. So glad I learned about it here.

joolzypops

This is my first review on this site, inspired by the throat scratchingly sickliness of this fragrance. I have to assume that the jasmine is the note that I am finding repulsive as most of my favourite scents have tuberose.

On the plus side, if you like it, it has amazing longevity!

simplegeek

The bottle:
I love the shape of it and the little details that make it pop out and not look very simple. The color of the bottle really does tells us that it's going to be white floral scent. Great add for a bottle collection.

Inside the bottle:
Powdery,Floral,Balsamic,Youthful,Pretty. When you first spray it You get the main scent tuberose along with jasmine and hint of vanilla. Once dried you can smell the other white florals, musk and hint of balsamic. Longevity is very long you can smell even a few days later.

Overall:
This perfume is great for someone who loves powdery and florals scents that will last all day. If your sensitive to perfume I wouldn't go for this one.

ladyjm89

I love Tuberose fragrances! I own a mini Petite Fracas which I ADORE! I picked up Truth Or Dare because it was listed as a similar fragrance and from the notes pyramid it sounded very promising! On my skin it just went all wrong though. I’m very sensitive to most aromachemicals, and this is just synthetic through and through. It’s too heady and screechy, has a plasticky drydown. I’m very disappointed. Expected more from it, based on the reviews. However I’m starting to learn very quickly that you cannot count on most Fragrantica reviews. Folks downvote into oblivion any review that doesn’t suit their opinion which leaves a very misleading impression on a lot of perfumes. I highly suggest you not blind buy this one. If you own it and love it, great! But please be aware that not everyone has the same skin chemistry or tolerance to modern perfume chemicals, and that just because you like it, doesn’t mean everyone else will. It’s not an affront to you or your perfume!

Scent 7/10
Sillage 8/10
Longevity 9/10 (almost beast mode here)

Sabretoothkitten

I wanted to like this perfume. I had it but only wore it twice. The white florals are too synthetic or indolic and the sweetness is reminiscent of some kind of pez candy or fruity soda. And it's strong! I can see how people like this it's definitely a fun, center of the party scent but it's just not me. Too loud too much attitude. I really prefer Fracas or Annick Goutal Gardenia. I'm usually a more subtle type of scent person.
The great news is its strong and big sillage.
I have it to someone who like a it a lot so I'm happy it got a new appreciative owner.

Pandarapt

On the bottle it smells like a headier, sweeter version of a white glue I had at preschool which was used to make some dreadful collages that were later on inflicted upon my parents, met with scrambled up compliments and stored inside an anonymous wooden drawer in some dank part of a basement. So there’s that sweet, gluey, intoxicating, resin-y smell suffocating on damp air.

On me, it smells like the ghostbuster’s marshmallow man wearing spike heels and a glitzy dress holding a white flower bouquet, bulldozing through the streets tacitly demanding gazes and generous compliments like some deranged beauty queen. And still, more wearable than Fracas.

An unsequined Fracas that can get up at 9:00 a.m to walk her dog to the park instead of slumbering the day away until the next big party, or a Donatella that can get her act together to go to lunch at some fancy L.A hotspot with her friends and without much of a scandal. Fun, but not that much fun.

petravesna

I like her Truth or Dare Naked so I wanted give this a go. Well, this is a badly handled tuberose because it's so synthetic. If you'd like to experience a bloussy and heady tuberose then Caroline Herrera's Caroline Herrera's is a better choice. This is an annoying synthetic joining my worst offender, Black Pearl by Elizabeth Taylor. A waste of money.

Beth

I put this on first thing this morning. After sampling Naked—which I LOVED!—I was excited to try this one. The very first blast of white florals was pleasant. At this point, I wish those notes had stuck around. It devolved rapidly into a screechy, plasticky, synthetic nightmare. Even my daughter noticed and said it smelled like a cheap plastic toy. It does NOT even remotely resemble Versace Blonde!!! It’s a scrubber, y’all. I have to pass on this one and return to Naked.

Sweethymn

I get mostly gardenia and tuberose. NO vanilla. sad face. Gonna have to give this one away. Strangely the juice has a peachy color but you wouldn’t know bc the bottle is a opaque white.

Wolfchild

Sexy, creamy, tuberose, gardenia, narcotic, musky.
Above average longevity and sillage. Love!!

Albertos

Interrupted, buy for stock, the price increases, great pity, so many precious odors are gone. Very sad! Why is this happening?

Konga5000

Discontinued and the price keeps going up. In the future people will be asking $100.00 and up! stock up now.

Albertos

Stunning, Stunning, stunning scent! This is flower bomb - jasmine, gardenia and tuberose broken with sweet vanilla. SEXY AND DARK! WONDERFUL, I WOULD LIKE A PERFECT LARGE! Mandatory in every wardrobe. Goddess Madonna! 10/10

NITAI

Shocked me. For the good. Madonna is basically a goddess to me, and I was buying the perfume for the box. I wasn't expecting to vibe with it because I thought with her energy, her very 'Leo' nature, her strength, it would be a very strong and spicy scent. When I opened the GORGEOUS box (best photo EVER) and sprayed the perfume on my wrist, I was immediately brought back to a moment I wished for a scent. I was 18. I was in Disneyland's French Quarter. There were scented oil perfumes in a shop. I took one whiff of the gardenia oil and knew this was exactly what my spirit had been longing for. I bought it and used that bottle to the last molecule. For years I longed for something similar, searched and searched never to find it, until that very moment, decades later, when I sprayed Madonna's perfume on my wrist. You CANNOT imagine my delight that my mortal goddess happened to create and vibe with the scent that I had been searching for since my teens. Yes, there are undertones, but basically, it's straight up Gardenia, and I freaking love it.

JCS2001

Completely unexpected from Madonna. At first it was a bit too strong for me but I love it. I love putting on the body lotion and spraying TOD on top of it!

Azula

I'd classify ToD as a gourmand floral that is perfect for lovers of white flowers in nature, but can be taken aback by the piercing, sharp quality that white florals in perfumery often possess (see: Diamonds and Emeralds, Kim Kardashian, Michael Kors). ToD captures the narcotic beauty of white flowers with none of the shrill green aspects, instead enhancing their lush sweetness and creaminess with vanilla and benzoin.

The opening is a heady and intoxicating bouquet of vanilla-soaked tuberose and fleshy gardenia, but the caramelised amber and benzoin introduce themselves almost immediately and intensify alongside the vanilla as the wear progresses, resulting in a linear and slightly powdery, creamy artificial banana tuberose bubblegum scent that is incredibly addictive and delicious. A crime that this was discontinued!

LadyIva

I've recently started layering Madonna Truth or Dare with Gucci Bloom. Both these scents feature tuberose, yet they're very different: ToD is a very sweet vanilla-soaked tuberose, while Bloom is a much fresher, greener, ambergris-laden tuberose. When layered, ToD, being the stronger of the two, quickly overpowers Bloom, yet the latter freshens the former, canceling out some of its sweetness and adding some depth to it. Soooo beautiful.

Eats Paste

Original review: October 2015 (posted to Amazon)

I'm only a ‘recent’ fragrance user...for most of my life, I was one of those who couldn't use fragrance because I'd get monstrous headaches and my sinuses would fill with concrete and I'd sneeze for two hours.
Then I reached a point where I could wear one of the gourmands (Fantasy) and though I don't want to smell like white chocolate ALL the time, I was happy for whatever I could get.
Recently I have lost much of my sense of smell...which is a total bummer ...but the major upside is I can now wear almost any fragrance with no headache/sinus problems. Hallelujah!!

So I went into beast mode and in about a year amassed three hundred fragrances. Some I passed on to others, because I just didn't care for the composition, some for longevity reasons, blah blah blah, but I plowed on making up for lost decades, and I now have A LOT of perfumes. I still have enough smell to pick up notes and avoid things that turn against my chemistry, but strangely I seem to have pretty neutral skin. Perfume friends have called me the Switzerland of perfume.
I am not a brand/price snob. I have had $300 perfume I got rid of. I have twenty dollar perfume I adore. You know what, the same artists work for a celebrity label as for a design house. Get over the snobbery!
I bought this blind on clearance at Wally World. When I sprayed it on, I literally immediately left the house, drove back there and bought out the rest then went to the other locations in my city and checked there too, ending up with six or seven bottles.
The categories that still ain’t my bag are the giant white florals (the meek ones, like MJ Daisy, work for me) and the giant aldehydes. They still can induce the headache and the Hoover Dam sinus effect, but this one, as long as I spray modestly, doesn’t.
Do you like jasmine/gardenia/tuberose?? Hope so, because they'll be removing one glove and slapping you across the face then sitting down for breakfast, tea, lunch, more tea, dinner, and then accompanying you to the boudoir. This perfume will be there all day and possibly tomorrow. Seriously. Do not spray it more than once till you know. Then MAYBE you can go to two. Any more and you will probably be asked to take the rest of the day off at work. I get a lot of the benzoin, and amber, it’s not too musky on me. But it’s very gourmand at the same time as being monstrously white-floral, exactly as billed. well composed. Nicely smoothly blended. Crazy sillage.
It does give me the headache of old if I use too much, but I'm telling you, I'm so entranced I don't care. My husband adores it. Often men prefer gourmands...that's been studied many times. But he is under the spell too.

Look, if you like the big non-wallflower 80’s style, like Poison, if you like Fracas but it’s too expensive or you DONT like Fracas but wish you COULD, you should try this. But if you do NOT normally care for white florals, still give it a shot. You might be like me. Someday this will be a bottle that goes for a lot of money, but it isn't now, so snag it.

I'm getting more.

2018: still love this, still only can handle one or two sprays, and that’s still ALL YOU NEED FOR REALS. Because of this, I’ve not added any more backups because six bottles of this at one spray per wearing is decades worth. But I’m not sorry I bought it and if I DID run out I’d repurchase it. Again possibly because of my neutral chemistry, I don’t notice a change in composition in hot vs cold weather, but I personally would not wear this on a hot oppressive day UNLESS I was specifically going for that deep-south-belle-on-a-porch-swing-with-a-hand-fan-and-a-beverage vibe. And then I would only use a half spray down at my knees or something. This totally works for that kind of Tennessee Williams vibe, in addition to the power-suit-hear-me-roar vibe. Versatile!

Dioguh

The first time I tested this one, it reminded me of Life Threads Silver from La Prairie, but a little bit more richer. This is not something you just wear on a daily basis, on no! You should save it for a dinner party, a date or some event that you just wanna feel good and empowered. A really good scent, incredible performance and definitibly not a girly one.

M.Golightly

I am writing this review because yesterday when my husband and I went to an art exhibit at Tate Britain I detected a waft of what I think is Truth or Dare or Fracas. I spotted 'her'....confident and mature she was.

I love tuberose & jasmine and so I decided to blind buy T-O-D, I also tested Fracas. Both are so close as a fragrance but the price is a big difference.

The floral scent in T-O-D and Fracas, for me, is meant to worn on a cooler climate/temp., and to be applied lightly. It could get heady. This is a carnal mature scent. For me this is robust scent, an explosion of white florals, amber and benzoin. I already own heavy white florals and this one is one of the 'Madam' in my collection.

When I sampled this, I was shocked, because all I could smell was super sweet bubblegum and that was it. But when my tester bottle arrived, I sprayed it and now I get little bubblegum-y start and then it settles into beautiful sweet white floral. If you love white florals like me, but want something, that is not fresh at the same time, this one is for you.

Grab a bottle while you can, because it's becoming hard to find :(

This was (yet another) blind buy. I’ve been trying inexpensive gardenia scents, and yesterday I tried ETs Diamonds and Emeralds, which was nice, but a ‘like’ not a ‘love’. Then today Truth or Dare arrived, and blew D&E out of the water. Well done, Madonna! I’ve always enjoyed powerful perfumes and this one is so ‘me’ - it starts off with a powerful blast of gardenia and tuberose, given a bit of a kick by the benzoin. I really, really like this opening. In the drydown the vanilla and musk come out to play and sweeten it up a little, but not too much, while the white florals calm down but are still present. I’ve never tried Fracas so I can’t comment on the similarity or otherwise. Truth or Dare is a keeper though - it’s a crying shame it’s discontinued, but I suppose in the world of celeb scents this is too much of an outlier. Time to stock up while I still can!

Today I am doing a side by side comparison with TOD and TOD Naked, one on each wrist. So far, I am finding TOD a bit thin, harsh and chemical-ly compared to TOD Naked. I bought it in store from a reputable seller so I know it was real and not gone bad. TOD Naked is more fleshed out, lush, creamy, and luxurious to me. It feels like it will stay with me quite a bit longer. I will see as the day progresses.

Either the perfume industry as a whole has drastically scaled back, or my nose has matured and my range has expanded, because a few years ago I would shrink at a whiff of Fracas, and the first time I tried Truth or Dare when it was new, I found it "difficult". I was repulsed by the "rotting meat" comparisons I often came across in regards to tuberose, and might have agreed.

Now it is pleasant to me in a very specific sort of way. Nothing difficult about it, just a bit thick. I could in fact imagine Madonna wearing it, so it isn't fresh or light or ambiguous.

It's hard not to compare TOD to Fracas. I think if you smell one one day, and the other the next, they are quite similar. Side by side though, TOD is lighter, summerier, and less grounded. It doesn't develop or even really drydown. However, it is great substitute.

musenkata

This is so beautiful perfume. First spray and i like it and the second i remembered from my 18 teens my friend had this - Blonde-Versace. This was too expensive for me, but now 20 years later i bought Madonna Truth or Dare for about 8 $ and i am happy that can remember this lovely smell from my teenage. The power of it is amazing and long lasting. Good perfume is with these two features.
This is creamy, white and sweet just lovely to my nose.

vintagelover

This is a sweet and playful Versace Blonde or Fracas. I was mortified when Blonde was discontinued but Truth or Dare was a more than acceptable substitute. Now they have gone and discontinued Truth or Dare!

T or D is to my nose an elegant fragrance, heavy tuberose with a playful sweet undertones of caramelised sugar. For the cost it is a remarkably good fragrance. It is classy, elegant and timeless but manages at the same time to be suggestive and damned sexy. For a celeb fragrance it has dared to be different staying clear of generic sugary or flowery "play it safe" compositions. Maybe that was its downfall! It is probably a good representation of Madonna. I am in the process of stacking up on T or D so I have a supply for many years to come. If Blonde and Poison are my special occasion evening out go to scents, T or D is perfect for filling the gap!

Anteatereatingant

This is really good for a celebrity perfume - it outperforms a lot of 'legit' perfumes in terms of longevity and projection.

This is a creamy, cozy-yet-sensual tuberose that's flirting with unisex. It's a creamy white floral that doesn't blast you in the face, but provides a decent amount of fragrance release at arm's length over many hours. I was surprised at how resilient it was, even on my skin which sucks up most fragrances within an hour or two. On clothes it easily lasts half a day most times, with only 1-2 sprays.

This is definitely above average in all respects - not AMAZING, mind you, but solidly above average, and cheaper too, so overall very good value for money if you like creamy, slightly sultry florals.

dollusions

This perfume gave me such a headache when I had it. I gave it away - but my mistake was giving it away to a coworker that I sat next to because I still had to put up with the smell!! It was VERY strong and smelled overpoweringly of Gardenia. Honestly I didn't get many other notes than that. Just. Didn't. Like.

christineh8

Why am I getting bubblegum and cleaning fluid? I use it for spraying the trash bin cupboard. Sorry guys for all Madonna fans I just don't like it.

Bloomahyde

I cannot believe how inexpensive this is! I blind bought it because the reviews always made me curious, and I was not disappointed. What a perfectly synthesized creation of Tuberose, Gardenia and Benzoin. There's some vanilla, amber and musk in there as well, but they are definitely taking a backseat to the drop dead gorgeousness of the white florals.

Killer. Dripping with beauty, like walking through a masterly designed garden at night.

Celebrity fragrances tend to be... I can´t find the right expression... linear, generic & simple. These perfumes usually bet on enjoyable flower compositions, sweet and easygoing, nothing special, nothing surprising.

In this category, Truth or Dare is like a diamond in a pile of plastic beads. Yes, it seems to be almost unreal.
This fragrance is a diva.
That´s it.
Take it or leave it.

This perfume is not one of those that require attention insistently. This fragrance doesn´t scream loudly: Hey, here I am! That´s how the celebrity fragrances should look like! No cheap fishing for compliments, just a quality perfume for a real woman.

I daresay that this perfume was blent with love and care. Milky-smelling jasmine & tuberose /I can even smell & taste a tiny bit of strawberry AirHeads candy/, sweet musk & amber, smoky benzoin & vanilla - and all these components work in perfect harmony together. Yep, Madonna still rules!

Albertos

Magnificent! beautiful white flowers bathed in the absolute vanilla, brings me to the wonderful garden where I feel free and romantic, what a masterpiece, it is a pity that I have already withdrawn. Beautiful for every time of the day and for everyone. Excellent fragrance durability. I'm collecting compliments. 5 stars, MADONNA had a nose.

Kimmychoo 01

If you want a sillage bomb - a perfume that is strong and will last you - not a 1 hour wonder like most recent frags .. really upsets me that !!!! Anyway - look no further -this here perf is here to stay .. absolutely gorgeous !!
upon first spray -gardenia - tuberose- but very musky buttery and creamy which i like in a scent
Smells divine on dry down all caramally and vanilla like — only subtle hints of flowers
- melds beautifully
i REALLY like it !

LadyIva

I blind-bought Madonna Truth or Dare, because I spotted a very good offer online for a 50ml bottle. I know that this fragrance has been discontinued, and I’ve been intrigued by its alleged similarity to Fracas, so I thought: ok let’s give it a go. I took quite a bit of a chance with it in full knowledge of the fact that I’m *not* a fan of white florals, with the exception of three that I already own: Givenchy Amarige, Carthusia Fiori di Capri and Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines. Before entering my credit card number I checked the notes of Madonna’s fragrance, and was satisfied to learn that they are quite similar to Amarige and Fiori di Capri (gardenia, tuberose, orange blossom, jasmine etc.) which helped me make the decision.
Anyway I’ve been wearing Truth or Dare for the past four hours and ... ta-dah:... I’m enjoying it immensely!... It’s a very well made fragrance: to me, the strongest note is gardenia, followed by tuberose and jasmine. As it develops, it also turns similar to YR Monoi and its tiare flower note. While tiare is not listed among the notes that comprise Truth or Dare, the mix of gardenia, tuberose and jasmine with sweet vanilla sure as hell resembles tiare and gives it a somewhat tropical feel. The scent is quite intense and long lasting, but not intimidating or suffocating. Interestingly, as it becomes progressively sweeter, Truth or Dare also starts to evoke the latest version of Givenchy Ysatis much more than Amarige, with that floral-tropical-vanillic tuberose.
Although I do fit into Madonna’s intended age group, I don’t think that this is a ‘mature’ scent - it can easily be worn by youngsters who are willing to try something beyond the pink sugary waters marketed at them. All in all, buying Truth or Dare was a well calculated risk that paid off. *insert smugface here*. Kudos to good old Madonna, I knew she wouldn’t let me down.

I just wore a sample of this, oh wow i think i forgot how much i liked it! Had it when it first came out. If anybody has this and wants to swap let me know.

To be the first perfume of the Queen of Pop Madonna, I expected something more outrageous and much more striking, as the personality of Madonna.
Let's start with the bottle:
the bottle gives the sensation of being an object that we can find in a church, gives the feeling that he wanted to say that his perfume is something like "Holy Water", because the bottle is very, very religious, in addition to the cross that she forms her printed "M" (Madonna and religion have always been linked, even by sheer provocation).
The smell of the perfume is ... wonderful, extremely floral, it smells like a private garden full of flowers with strong and pleasant smells, it makes me transport myself when I close my eyes.
It is not a youthful perfume, it is a perfume for ladies from 50 years old up (Madonna currently has 59).
It is an elegant, serious perfume, the typical one that a woman would wear when going to a party, opera or dance with a long dress, that's how I imagine it.
It is inspired by Madonna's mother because she says she has tried to recreate the smell of the perfume she wore.
I am a great admirer of Madonna and had to get a bottle of her perfume and I am delighted.

zsofiaklein

Ok. This is pure monoi oil on me. I applied it extremely carefully and so glad I did so. I just realised I really don’t like gardenia. The bottle is hideous in my opinion. Lesson learnt, no more blind buys for me!

Annabear

ALERT! Look away if you’re a huge Truth or Dare fan.

I believe this reminds so many fans of Fracas, and I remember reading that Fracas used to be Madonna’s favourite fragrance...

With apologies in advance for any unintended offence, the only similarity to Fracas is the powerful opening and degrees of tuberose.

Whereas Fracas envelopes you in a cloud of voluptuous intoxicating tuberose, ToD is a coarse, persistent, sledgehammer of white flowers and almond essence. I found it quite vulgar and offensive, especially in contrast to Fracas. If I were to compare the two as though they were metals, Fracas would be ethereal liquid silver, and TOD would be cheap aluminium.

Cheers to all the fans who love it though, there’s something for everyone out there.

LoveChypre

Big, bold and beautiful white floral. Not the least bit shy (google the perfume commercial, you'll get the picture) Creamy, warm and enveloping. This is so similar to Fracas that I would cry foul, if not for the significant contribution that the musk and vanilla make. These last two elements are not a part of Fracas and so, to me, they save TOD from being a copycat fragrance. I love the both and wear them both. The TOD is warmer and creamier than Fracas and thus a bit more wearable (at least for me) in a wider variety of situations. Fracas is for a fall or winter red carpet, femme fatale gala. TOD is for a fall or winter evening date, or night on the town.

phoebe25

This fragrance is GORGEOUS!

The creamy white floral opening is amazing, but it does calm down. The trace of vanilla caramel in the base and in the finish is delightful but not foody.
The gardenia and tuberose are beautiful but not for the shy, neither is the jasmine, this is a white floral fragrance for sure.

I apply two tiny sprays on my wrists and that is plenty.

I like the flat bottle, It fits right into my handbag

darlingnadine

I liked it at first but now has become a dislike. Very creamy tuberose drowned in vanilla. It is kind of suffocating and makes me feel claustrophobic. It also smells kind of cheap. Never smelled Fracas so I can't compare.

goldiesouthern2011

Blind buy - not the bad one. Opening is really strong and makes me bit nauseous, but the drydown gets better. Heavy tuberose layered with pleasant creaminess.

mutintabailey

What a beautiful pefume!, I brought this as I have high hopes to start a new relationship!
Gardenia!and fresh floral pretty!!
So I brought something to have new memories! WOW! A good choice!, hope the relationship takes place now!??

mapache

Finally got my nose on this one. I waited too long..now the prices are slowly but surely going up.
At first spray....nice spicy tuberose/gardenia...LOVE.
Then....sadly....in the drydown...BUBBLEGUM !!!
The animalic/spicy vibe goes away...#$%&!...lol.
Will give it a second wearing/chance on another day, since some scents require this option IMO.
Also...I don't find this a "bomb" at all. It is not cloying or beast mode to my nose. I really want to like this...further wearing will determine the outcome.
Next to try will be Kim Kardashian's version ....???

ellenastokman

Gorgeous!! Thats how u call this perfume, gorgeous!! Sillage monster and longevity is great. What more can i say, its very floral and different from normal celeb scents.people would honestly mistake this for designer scents. Good job.

tyekristopher

you can write coty and complain on their website if you are upset. That is what I did, only took a few mins

Lucyana

Very very strong fragrance. I detect mostly tuberose and vanilla. Its a like, not a love. Yet! Longevity and projection is great for the price tag. Not a safe blind buy IMO.

Andre4242

I love this fragrance so much. It’s a heady white floral with sweet nuances, it has a buttery quality to it. It reminds me of a sultry young bride for some reason lol this stuff lasts forever and projects like crazy!!! I’m so happy I stocked up on this and ToD Naked when fragrancenet was selling sets for 15 bucks. I have enough to last years to come lol

eladonnadepont

It's very upsetting that COTY is no longer producing this fragrance! It is such a beautiful scent!
Truth or Dare was released around the same time as Lady Gaga FAME and made by COTY. Truth or Dare sold only 1.2 Million bottles by the end of 2012 and LADY GAGA FAME sold over 10 Million. It was obvious that COTY was going with Gaga's fragrance and discontinued Truth Or Dare.

Aside from that Truth Or Dare has such a unique smell that i can't get enough of! The blast of Gardenia and Vanilla are my favorite part! I find myself always picking up the bottle when i come into my room just for a quick whiff :)

JenJones28

Hi looking to trade full bottle of truth or dare for full bottle of Marc Jacobs dot. Will also consider trading for Versace yellow diamond.

MixedTastes

I reviewed this perfume previously and my conclusion then was that it was incredibly strong, a bit scary and perhaps not suitable for the warm weather at that time.

Well, I'm reviewing it again on a chilly autumn evening...and boy, is it good.

This is a delicious, heady, BOLD statement fragrance with piercing tuberose in its first stages, but thickly creamy, narcotic and (conversely) an intensely private affair on the dry down.

It really is quite beautiful.

Kiwichick1

I watched this review on you tube by 'Ami loves perfumes' on Madonna Truth or dare, Versace blonde and Fracas by Robert Piguet. I purchased TD because it was affordable and have heard it was/has being discontinued. I find it incredibly strong and looooong lasting. It has taken me 3 attempts to actually say I like it. It intrigues me. Its really strong tuberose in the beginning but it transforms into a beautiful soft floral on my skin. As I have not smelt Versace or Fracas I can't comment on any similarities but I'm glad I purchased TD.

mamakatt38

This is my all time, number one favorite perfume of all time!!!! Really, I love it, it's a creamy vanillaish tuberose with a little gardenia and I guess benzoin. A lot of people smell bubblegum or grape at the beginning and once in a while I'll get a sniff reminiscent of those smells but they're fleeting. Madonna has created a masterpiece.

tyekristopher

Coty said they would share my complaint with the marketing division. I still can't believe this scent did horrible or maybe not to coty's standards but I still think it should be made maybe not in large quanities but at least something. I get that white florals aren't as popular but they put out gucci bloom which is a white floral I think there is more to this story. I won't buy anything else from them because this was my favorite scent they produced. Not because it is madonna it was just a beautiful scent that I think got a bad rep and didn't get the attention it deserved. The market wants syntetic fruity florals. Don't get me wrong I enjoy fruity florals but they don't need to dominate the market.... grrrrrr

tyekristopher

Coty wrote me back they officially said this was not being made anymore and had been discontinued! I'm so upset right now

canadianpetite

I have both Fracas and Truth or Dare so I compared and here is my impression. Both are full of tuberose although Fracas seems more clear and ToD is more powdery. Fracas has a green note to it while ToD is softer with musk. Both perfumes have big personalities so one small spray will do otherwise it is best enjoyed alone at home.

One spray on me,
Sillage: a yard
Longevity: three hours then scent becomes a soft trail
Rating: 4/5 for spunk and tuberose, 1/5 for being so strong that I cannot wear it whenever and wherever

cosmicfred

I've got a ROBERT PIGUET FRACAS vintage bottle and TRUTH OR DARE is really close to it.
Warm tuberose intoxication.
Long lasting but not over-powering.
Different.
VERY GOOD.
Yes i dared!

LoveJoy22

INTRIGUE & OPULENCE:

A true gem...I really love this perfume! Glamorous & Nostalgic, with heady gardenia & velvety tuberose! Truth or Dare is the QUEEN on the Scene.

If you love sweet & rich, bold & spicy, come-hither type of scents, this belongs in your fragrance wardrobe!

Nippi

I finally found Fracas in a nearby department store! I fell madly in love with ToD when I first had it, and I've struggled to find a decently priced bottle since I last picked one up about a year ago. With all of the "yes" votes here next to Fracas, I expected to smell a clone of this wonderful fragrance. I must say, I was extremely disappointed, and kind of sad to be honest. I was really hoping Fracas was comparable to this, after hearing from multiple people here and online that this was discontinued this year. (is it true? Is there a reliable source confirming this?) Perhaps Fracas was amazing in it's day, but the modern formula smelled very synthetic to me, nothing like a real flower would smell. ToD is so amazingly blended and crafted, it smells like real fresh picked Gardenias, Jasmine and Tuberose. For a big white floral fragrance, ToD manages to be very fragrant but not headache inducing. ToD lasted ALL day long on me. Fracas was very faint within an hour or so. The biggest thing absent from Fracas, and the Accord that makes ToD such a unique and a one of a kind fragrance, is the sweet, vanilla and carmelized benzoin base. The sweetness in ToD balances the florals out, and just makes an incredible aroma which makes the fragrance more modern. The flowers and vanilla smell amazing together, but would smell very different apart. A good example of this kind of blend is Vera Wang's Rosebuds and Vanilla. I've truly never smelled anything like Truth or Dare, I think it is an expertly crafted perfume, one worthy of even a high end price tag. If this really is discontinued, I'm shocked Madonna would let anything with her name on it go discontinued. I'm hoping maybe another fragrance company buys the formula and rights to make it under a different name or something, like Dana did with Houbigant's Chantilly and Corday's Toujours Moi. This fragrance just does not deserve to die so young. This is a devastating loss for white floral fans on a budget.

Beadvised

I got this because I had been wanting to try it for awhile. Than someone on here mentioned that it was discontinued and that "nothing else smells like it". This actually smells like all floral fragrances nothing special at all here. I don't even smell anything blended or different. It's just regular floral scent. It's boring. It being discontinued is no surprise now.

secorneli1202

I recently scored a 75 ml bottle of the eau de parfum from a liquidation center closeout. Original faded price tag said $60 US and the kind cashier only charged $16. I could be wrong, but searching the batch code of 2067 I believe this is a "vintage" bottle from 2012, the year it was released.

Now, any perfume that has even a hint of tuberose magnifies 50% when sprayed on my skin. Wow! I couldn't believe the strength of this perfume. What a tuberose beast! It's right up there with Giorgio and 273 Rodeo Drive. I innocently placed one spritz on my neck and one on each inner elbow like I would any other perfume. I was in for a surprise! Definitely one or two sprays is enough. Not on the neck but behind the knees so the lovely scent can waft up but not suffocate the wearer. I don't detect any of the white chocolate or vanilla some mention but a potent melange of white flowers with musk and benzoin peeking through. If you love tuberose this is your jam. Impressive longevity too. I took a shower later in the evening and I could still smell it on my arms. I definitely got my money's worth here as this bottle will last a loooong time.

Again, as with Truth or Dare Naked, Madonna proves she has good taste in selecting amazing scents to bear her name. Maybe it's time she retire from entertainment and focus on a perfume line. She would blow Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton et al right out of the water.

inc0rporeal

I smell something much more edible & gourmand than only vanilla and caramelized amber. I can't put my finger on it but it's a note unlike any dessert, candy or sweet I've ever eaten before. Something much creamier, more milky and sugary. Divine, sweet white floral. Sexy and delectable. Great job, Madonna!

This isn't something I say often as I love a strong fragrance but you may wanna go lightly with this one! I'm seeing a few reviewers saying it made them feel sick, headache-y, etc, and I overdid it to myself once too! Lol

sasha.talan

Beautiful perfume for woman on her wedding day is perfect for a wedding dress so white and flowery. I smell the first time a beautiful orange blossom but it is neroli fresh and then smell like white flowers gardenia jasmine and lily. I don't know what tuberose is but in this parfum the smell is beautiful. Clean like white soap on your skin. When the parfum is dry smell like vanilla and musk warm and delicious milk or a butter cream like a good body lotion for the skin. I love this perfume and is my first celebrity parfum. This parfum is good for wearing in the day time in spring and summer with a clean blouse and suit very business perfume. If you like white flower especially tuberose gardenia and vanilla you will love this parfum! Madonna thank you.

Rosie Cotton

This is the first perfume that I ever bought back up bottles. I am glad I did but I am kicking myself for not also stocking up on ToD naked.

ToD is a great first introduction to tuberose. It helped me learn that note and really appreciate it. I get the gardenia and amber and even lily. I never quite catch a vanilla note. If you aren't big on vanilla, I am not sure you would notice this enough to dislike it.

Having gorged on oodles of perfumes since I found this one, I was surprised at how very much I loved this when I came back to it. It doesn't smell cheap or uneven. It is still as beautiful as I thought it was. I got a decant of Fracas. I thought with a more experience nose I might find a huge difference. There really isn't much difference and I felt silly buying and expensive decant that I didn't need.

This is the kind of perfume you wear on a day when you need to be in your own safe beautiful bubble.
