Gucci Bamboo by Gucci is a Floral fragrance for women. Gucci Bamboo was launched in 2015. Top note is Bergamot; middle notes are Casablanca Lily, Ylang-Ylang and Orange Blossom; base notes are Sandalwood, Tahitian Vanilla and Amber.

Gucci launches its new perfume Gucci Bamboo in spring 2015, named after the already existing collection of accessories. The fragrance apparently reflects confidence and femininity. It is designed for modern women of character that is multifaceted; the fragrance is intense, graceful and gentle at the same time.

The composition is floral - woody. It opens with citrusy accords of bergamot leading to the exotic floral heart of ylang-ylang, Casablanca lily and orange blossom. Intense notes of sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla and amber form the base.

The face of the perfume is actress Gal Gadot. The bottle design blends delicate sensibility with strong lines. Glass art deco bottle in the shape of a diamond is contrasting with soft pink liquid. Polished silver cap gives the Bamboo signature.

The fragrance is available as 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum with body lotion, shower gel and deodorant.

All the other scents come and go but love for Gucci is permanent! Who wouldn't want this? It's beautiful inside out and I am crazy for it. Bergamot with Casablanca creating the signature scent for a women of this era with added elegance and class!

Not sure why the edt is better/as in I can smell it and is much stronger & wonderful than the edp but it is so...
Am returning the edp to Nordstrom today.
The Bamboo edt has an "animalic" after it's been on my skin into the 3 hour that I love.
The edp would be good if the notes would unfold...

VioletScented

I self consciously love this. I was so surprised to read from other's that this has a pee note. I don't pick this up on me at all, but I'm not sure if others do 😔 My bottle is older, from 2016. I thought it was so unique at that time when everything was either fruitchouli or floral and fruity.

To me, this smells quiet and melancholy. Kind of sad and dark, but clean and soft. Maybe it is the lily making me feel this way. This lasts all day on me with softer sillage.

Same DNA as Karl Lagerfeld For her, but at doubled price

I will agree that it is mature and that it smells a bit like (pee) but for me it is a nice fragrance, I would wear it on a date out.

Update (4.17.2024): My original review was a first impression of a blind-buy, so now that I got to know this fragrance a little better I wanted to give an update. First, I changed my vote from "ok" to "like". I wasn't impressed at first but since wearing it more I have more respect for the quality of the product. This juice needs the warmth of skin to really perform at it's best. Also, it beautifully develops from a floral opening to a deep and creamy sandalwood dry-down with powdery, warm and sweet nuances. In other words, this fragrance is a lot more complex than it may seem at first. More recent releases aren't really doing that these days so I appreciate that. And the longevity on the skin is out of the this world (over 24 hours!). But it's still a little out of date without being completely old fashioned so my only challenge is wearing it often because it's not suitable for my lifestyle. But if you have more sophistication to your day-to-day lifestyle and want a scent that many people aren't wearing (I'm looking at you Coco Mademoiselle) then this might be for you.

I purchased this fragrance today for a discount at a rack store and here are my first impressions:

Firstly, this is a blind-buy purchase, however I have tested the edt version and I liked that one so I decided to get the edp thinking it wouldn't be that much of a difference.

Well, I was wrong and the two are very different and Gucci Bamboo edp was not what I was expecting.

I was expecting a fresh and modern floral scent with some aquatic nuances and maybe some greenness and woodiness (hence the name bamboo).

Instead, I got a very classic floral scent with some woody undertones and a little bit of brightness up top with a bit of fresh spicy in the base.

And it smells retro but with a modern twist but still classic. I like those types of scents because I find them elegant but I was thrown off by the packaging and appearance of the bottle it just gave a modern vibe.

So, if you do not like straight up floral scents or old school fragrances or spicy scents this may not be for you.

It's also a bit mature leaning and a little more business and elegant than young and playful. So, this one may not be for everyone but I'm happy to have it, although I think I could've lived without. I prefer the edt but this one is ok.

this has a particular nostalgic early 2000s smell to me, i remember the department stores and avon page samples smelt like this. playing with a friends mum’s makeup counter smelt like this. and it’s so gorgeous. it’s clean, barbie, celebrity like. doesn’t quite fit the name bamboo, but i love it.

deemoonxie

I bought it like weeks ago. At first,I regretted for buying this instead of gucci bloom. It took me a bit of works to get used to this smell. Surprisingly,I got compliments from my brother who never ever complimented about my other perfumes. I applied it in my room before i went out and left my room with air conditioner on. When i got back, my room smelled like the whole wood forest with floral scents. That’s when I fell in love with this perfume. Personally, I would recommend this to ladies who like fresh and airy scents.

Bamboo is a beautiful floral perfume with depth and character. It's not your generic floral. It's versatility makes it appropriate for work and for play. I believe you should wear what you love, no matter the season or time of day. Bamboo is a proven compliment getter, if that's important to you. It's certainly inoffensive, making it perfect for work as well as for play. I prefer niche fragrances, however, Bamboo has a niche quality. It's a safe blind buy in my opinion, as well as an excellent value for what you're getting.

Longevity = 6-8h
Sillage = moderate
Definitely leans feminine

annxyz

Classic female scent and very balanced. Elegant , lasting, and great for any age. I call it perfect and think it is the best perfume I have purchased in years.

It is great to find a scent that is feminine, not loud or candied and juvenile. Gucci Bamboo is a work of art and highly underrated.

Bondno9girl

Everytime without fail a man tells me I smell absolutely divine or incredible or just super good. Men love this scent! It really attracts the men like crazy and I know it's because of the musk. I won't wear this for a long time and then all the sudden I pull this out and remember how crazy it makes the men lol Narciso Rodriguez pure musc has a similar effect as well. Im telling you those kind of scents are the best even though they aren't my favorite which would be vanilla based scents that are sweet. This is super underrated and the reactions I recieve are unlike anything else with any of my other perfumes. I always overspray especially on clothing but it does last and project well. I do around 15 sprays and I'm super solid from morning until night. I love musk based scents 💜 so happy I pulled this out today and was reminded how good it is. If you dont want to smell like everyone else then wear this baby and drive the men crazy and wait for their crazy reactions lol

Edit: I owed the edt and now I am half way through the edp. They are super similar while the edt has more citrus in it but the edp definitely lasts longer so I prefer that one. The edt lasts well if you overspray but you have to spray A LOT(like 25 sprays) on clothing for it to last all day but you will leave a sillage. The edp is way more noticeable so just go with that if you care about performance.

First impressions (sorta):
This was the best one on paper in perfumania. I finally got a full bottle for Christmas. I have to say if you think that this is going to smell like bamboo you’ll be surely mistaken. I also think people who do not appreciate white florals would be apawled by this for being too indolic for them. I will have to agree it’s a tad bit on the generic side of white florals, no matter. This to me reminds me of Versace Versense -way less crituses, and no fig. +kick up the Lilly and you’ll have this concoction.
Edit 1:
This also gives me Armani my way in a way with the dry down, but more dusty. Or maybe like 212 Carolina Herrera just less hair spray.
Edit 2:
This is definitely very mature with the ylang ylang

Sun_Bleached_Florals

I've tried many others but keep coming back to Gucci Bamboo, my good old standby. I didn't really take care of my last bottle and with time it has gone off and now smells a bit like urine, so it's time for a new bottle. This is clean, classic, and beautiful. This smells really nice and you can't go wrong if you need a signature scent.

Ilovetupacamaru2205

So basically it's a really pretty unique scent and It's perfect for everyday wear!

vilkel

I had it in 2015 maybe, at the time I tried it and I liked it sooo much. Funny how tastes change. I have tried other Gucci perfumes and they are just not for me. At the end I thought it seemed too green for my taste and I also, as others, felt the “pee note”. Overall office suitable daytime scent, nothing bold or interesting.

sesi_shikorina

Extremely basic, it has that floral Gucci DNA for sure. Too mature for me though. It smells like a fresher, cleaner Gucci Guilty, but I still prefer Guilty over this. Like others have said, the bottle and name doesn't really match the scent... like why bamboo, lol?

yellowdock

It does smell a bit like pee

Ana's Mia

Like others have said, completely underwhelming and basic. But with that said, it’s does smell nice, just nothing special. Has a 90s vibe kinda reminds me of Pleasures. Highschool me would love it but I don’t see an adult wearing this and being taken seriously. I don’t smell the creamy notes much at all, it’s just a slightly sweet floral with no real identity of its own. I can see this being a good layering perfume to soften some sweeter scents.

Scentfrommanna

My friend wears this as a signature and it smells great on her, so I was intrigued and got a sample.

On me the lily does initially smell a little indolic (that “pee-like” vibe others have mentioned). However thankfully this wears off quick and it’s mainly a thick ylang-ylang freshened up by bergamot. I really like it, possibly don’t love it as it doesn’t last long on me.

However despite being a bit paranoid about the pee note, I have been complimented on this perfume and my family said they can’t smell that note on me at all (believe me they’d tell me if they did!!!).

This is a lovely one for spring and summer, especially at work, or running errands.

danielabalgos

On skin it’s a good first spritz. Fresh notes are there. But then after 3-5 mins, oh my god. Cat pee or a fart. IDK WHY but it smells like fart. Then after 10 mins from the fart smell, it becomes citrusy vanilla musk, which my brain can’t tell if good or bad because I still get the hint of cat pee. Dry down (minus the cat pee) is a bit similar to Armaf CdN Woman.

Gemsense

Wow the cool fall weather has brought this one to life, this is gorgeous now 😍. It's no longer a whisper of a scent, you can smell the spice, the florals and the powder. It's nice, still a nice soft scent just quietly beautiful.

barbiegirl

It took months for me to warm up to Gucci Bamboo. At first I felt sort of nothing about it and it spent quite a bit of time on the margins of my collection. I gave it another full honest wearing before moving it into the out box, and that's when I realized how lovely it is. The scent is beautiful. Bamboo is not the knockout who turns heads when she walks into a room; it's the the girl next door who is pretty but becomes gorgeous after you've talked to her a few times and seen her sincerity and goodness up close.

If you like subtlety and discretion, femininity and grace, and are impeccably polite, you may love this perfume. Or if you simply have occasions where you hope to embody those traits, this is the scent for those occasions.

As a former design and marketing professional, I actually think the branding and bottle design don't represent this fragrance super well and that's one reason I think I didn't gel with it at first - I think I was expecting something a little green, a little herbal, maybe spa- or zen-like. The idea of bamboo evokes those things for me - bamboo is a specific object, it's an actual thing you can picture. But what I feel when I wear it is a gentle, very classy, feminine, warm white floral. The bottle shape and design are cool-looking, but it comes across as a little bit aloof with that cold, chrome-colored cap and smoky grey. If I were leading a design update, I would change the cap to a warm, polished nickel, and change the lettering to a creamy white on top of the soft grey glass. This fragrance is not aloof and individual, and not the smell of a spa lobby - it is warm and inviting and soft.

Once I adjusted my expectations, I've grown to really like/love this fragrance!

johanna.lindholm

This one is seriously underrated. Almost no one seems to know about this gem. The bottle is beautiful, the scent is the best "clean girl" perfume. Many won't even notice it's an actual perfume, it's discreet in a good way. Suitable for work or situations where you can't wear a really strong perfume. It's completely inoffensive and is never inappropriate. It doesn't matter if you bathe in this, it will never be overpowering. Ever. I feel so clean and super calm and put together when I'm using this. A lot of times I spray this on me and my pillows before I go to bed, it's just relaxing and peaceful. I just purchased my fourth bottle, used up three 75 ml during this year. I don't even like freashies usually, but this one hit home. This is not too citrusy and soapy, it's just beautifully floral. I absolutely love the lily and ylang ylang in this. The absolutely only con to this is that it's very expensive. I mean, I'd get it if it was a powerful scent, but this is a light fresh scent. This price point is close to many different niche brands, which doesn't make any sense to me. I never buy this full price, I get it from like Ebay or something like that for significantly cheaper. I do make sure it's legit of course. But I do think this is such a gem and will keep repurchase this over and over. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

yayimhere

Smells floral yes, but to me somehow spicy? Maybe more like fresh (because of the bergamot), and light. Don't get any sandalwood though. I don't tend to get any vanilla or amber, as it most stays at the middle notes for me. Lasts me almost 6 hours on my hijab, and it has a moderate projection. I'd say this reminds me of a mature, slightly more masculine vibe. I wear it usually when I want to feel "grown up."

Flexwithviv

This is soo basic and unmemorable all I really get is that lily note which I’m not enjoying in this fragrance. Why did they make such a bland fragrance, with absolutely no kick or nothing to it, it’s such a waste. The funniest thing is that I have a small bottle and it seems suitable for summer but I just couldn’t bring myself to wearing it. It was the last thing I would like to put on. I sprayed it here and there, but I’m not able to make a significant dent so I’ll be parting ways with it.

Sofifeee

For me, this perfume is unique because it is Elegantly Fresh as ChayChama perfectly described. I went swimming on a late summer's night and then showered and got into PJs. I didn't want a sweet or energising zesty fragrance, I wanted something serene and fresh - this is exactly that. This holds a unique place in my collection for being both elegant and zen.

santeripe

I'm usually never in the minority who finds something strange off with scents. But this literally does smell like urine to me. Not even just a little bit. Right from the opening, it's like someone who peed themselves tried to cover with fresh floral perfume. I really thought something was off with the sample bottle at first, because no mass-appealing perfume could smell like this. But reading other reviews here, I'm apparently not the only one. The urine smell does dissipate in 2-3 hours, after which this becomes a pleasant sorta mature floral.

I wonder how this happens with designer perfumes. Are mass-market fragrances not tested by a lot of people before they're released? Will the release still go forward if 10% of people think it smells like the person wearing the perfume wet themselves?

stephm42120

I could see this working so well on a tropical vacation to a luxury resort. I wish I got more of the woody notes. It is pretty when my mom wears it but it smells like fresh-cut grass & lily on my skin.

ChayChama

This is ELEGANTLY FRESH. I am not into summery fragrances in general, as they tend to be generic with common zesty citrusy notes. The bergamot here disappears after few minutes, the Bamboand the Moroccan lily elevates this scent and makes it special yet simple and inoffensive. I receive compliments at my work about it every time I wear it. However, I needed to go heavy on the trigger to get a better sillage.

OloraGolosina

Generic, boring, dissappears after 10 min on my skin, not worth the money nor talking about it.

ru2

Really nice feminine woody fragrance. Thats the perfect description I feel, because usually woody scents are associated with mens perfume but this is definitely feminine. Its quite a clean scent, perfect to compliment that just showered feeling. The silage isn’t very good and it stays close to the skin. I would say its nice and works for a lot of occasions, but not interesting or anything special.

luv66

i’m very surprised this is described as a basic white floral. At least on my skin, the smell very closely resembles the bamboo i had around my house when i was a child. There is definitely the soft sweet of a white floral, but there is also fresh green citrus that reminds you that you are smelling the stalk, not the bloom. On me, this smell is very literal, as literal as the earl grey in Jo Malone’s earl grey & cucumber.

Though I understand why at first, its just another citrus floral, the dry down is such a nostalgic green smell, and layers perfectly with more aromatic, herbal tea smells. Lovely perfume <3

Lotte_Liese

This is a fresh, airy, citrus yellow-floral. It's lovely, light and a great choice for the summer months, but there's not much to say about it. It doesn't leave a lasting impression, but there's nothing wrong with it to my nose. Perhaps it does nothing for my skin chemistry.

LanaDelSlay

It's so basic that it hurts my soul just to sniff it

suzanne_ronald

EXOTIC & SPICY Pacific Rim Garden. Opens with multi-faceted bergamot that has citrus, fruity, fresh, aquatic & sweet nuances. The opening transitions to a floral heart of lily and ylang that has plush, succulent, violet, peppery and sour aspects, resting on a vanillic amber-woody base. On the skin, I get faint pencil shaving touches, and the woody notes lean to incense-y wooden church pews. Moderate performance with a small scent bubble for a light, summer wearing experience.

Contrast to Un Air de Samsara Guerlain:
These have very different note structures, but the ylang-sandalwood combo has reminders of the Samsara range, in it's lighter, fresh approach. Un Air de Samsara has green touches and outperforms Gucci Bamboo, although GB will be easier to wear for some, and is more universally appealing.

Contrast to Sira des Indes Jean Patou:
These are different, but there are some similarities with spicy-sour white & yellow florals. Sira des Indes has more animalic touches and ouperforms GB, although GB will be easier to wear for most noses.

Contrast to Sung Alfred Sung:
These are different, but again similarities with spicy-sour white & yellow florals. Sung is sharper with a vintage vibe, while GB is more lush with a more forward lily. Sung outperforms Gucci Bamboo, but GB is easier to wear.

Overall: Beautiful summer spicy scent profile, with moderate performance, this is the perfect scent to wear for adding some spice to your summer. I'm a longtime fan of the Samsara range, so t's a love for me. Enjoy!

Gemsense

I didn’t know what to expect from this I am surprised at how rich church mom it seems to be. It smells very powdery and like a classic smell that a well off Chanel wearing lady would wear to take care of the toddlers and babies in the church nursery. I’m reaching that age, hmm… I’ll wear this to rock the babies 👶 😇 . It’s a comforting scent, it makes you feel safe and well cared for. Perfect really, if any scent should have been named “Perfect,” it should’ve been this one. Not because the scent is perfect but because the feelings it evokes are just perfect in every way. Life is grand wearing Bamboo. Sorry I can’t pick apart the notes they’re too unfamiliar for me to distinguish between them.

emeradora

I would describe this scent as elegant and crowd-pleasing. The bergamot lends a sparkling opening that acts as a bright counterpoint to the white flowers. For me, the lily takes a backseat to the ylang-ylang, but I know many people find the lily overpowering and unpleasant. It lasts up to 8 hours on my skin and dries down sweet and woody, owing to the vanilla and sandalwood in the base. Though the citrus-white floral scent has been done to death, I still really enjoy Bamboo for its simplicity and freshness. Is it a little bit boring? Maybe. Does it smell like a classy, rich woman on her way to amaze her company's shareholders? Yes.

JoyousOne

This opens really nice with the citrus and then quickly changes to a woody fresh scent. If you like that scent profile, it would be a mass crowd pleaser. Isn't nothing unique. That's nothing remarkable about it. We have seen this done a zillion times. Nothing about it wows you and makes you say, "Ive GOT to have a bottle of this." It lasts forever and ever. If this isnt your type of scent, even after you wash your hands it holds you hostage and wont leave your skin. I hate when this happens.

Sagittarius_energyyy

Smells like pee on my skin. First sniff- wow smells so citrusy and nice, but within few seconds, I can smell strong urine-like stink. It’s a no from me

allegro_barbaro

This is bland. Nothing interesting about it at all and instantly forgettable. It is as though a focus group was held choose the least offensive perfume and Bamboo won. If you love Casablanca lilies, try to get your hands on Donna Karan Gold or Cynthia Rowley Flower. Both are beautiful, creamy and powerful.

Keonaaa

Smells like spit to me. I can’t bring myself to wear it.

annxyz

This is easy to love ! I actually find it perfect for me. It is not a sugary or sweet scent , and it is a light floral that is not intense. To my nose the lily is beautiful . I find it lasts a long time - I always spray on my clothes to avoid chemicals in my blood stream.

Gucci Bamboo is feminine , understated, elegant and very classy . It has just the right amount of presence and it lingers many hours . It suits a woman who aspires to be polished in any setting , but who does not want her perfume to scream loudly .

I am grateful to have found something that is feminine, not drowning in fruit or sugar and that is so very pretty . I find it to be an excellent value for the quality . Another plus with this fragrance is that it is unique and not worn by everyone around me .

Lalunalynn

The lily in this is incredibly strong and it smells a bit pissy. If they dialed that right down it would be a really nice, slightly sweet, fresh and spicy scent. Shame

Neurotictoc

If someone needs to find a cheaper clone of this Floyesa "Ginazzi" is quite chlose. On me it smells a little animalic and I am wondering if there is some note that is not listed that gives this frag a bit of muskyness? Top bergamot is refreshing and sparkly in this and first spray is very bittery fresh, green and joyful. In the drydown the bergamot vanishes a bit and you get this woodier, white and yellow floral base. It settles into white floral/woodsy smell that someone said reminds them of funerals and I agree. The lily in this is more the "dirtier" kind which gives this frag some maturity and some might not like that. It is an office scent for a confident and calm person to me. The amber and animalicness in it makes me think of 90s fragrances and I was surprisen it came out 2015. It has a 90s vibe. It is not overly sweet. If you don't like greener and more animalic frags with heavier base maybe this won't work for you. On my skin it works really well. I have dry combination skin. I get a multifaceted, fresh, a little sexy and mature scent that sits chlose to skin and is inviting but energizing. Sample before buying!

7.5/10 I think it is a bit more unique fresh, clean office scent. I like it and all the different aspects on it. I wish it lasted longer. On me I get 4h.

GabbieSmithWindley

The overall DNA plays in the same sandbox as Tom Ford Soleil Neige and Guerlain Shalimar Souffles. Incredibly underrated IMHO.

Mia21

I was gifted this one by my OH. I would have moved past after testing it in a store for sure. I usually wear this on the days when i want something refreshing, not too heavy and inoffensive. Overall it is not my most favourite scent by Gucci, but it's good for casual daily wear.

Eirwrecka

I wanted so bad to love this perfume. Everyone around me seems to love it, but to me it smells like a grandma. I would have still worn it because everyone else loved it on me, but it gave me a major migraine every time I wore it.

Sailor Pluto

This smells like lemonade! Yummay!

savjlc

Kinda shocked by the inclusion of vanilla, the citrus and florals are so powerful in this I had no idea that was a note in here lol. This perfume receives a lot of hate on here it seems but I really like it! It’s fresh and bright without being overly sweet, it makes a great office fragrance. There is nothing unpleasant about this to me, if it smells mature to your nose maybe you’re just missing the sweetness that usually accompanies frags like this. I like this one because it tends to last on me longer than others in this category. When spring hits I may use my bottle up

Kcbear28

Screechy and green but in the best possible way. I think the name is perfect for the scent. I tend to use it on the days I feel overwhelmed by my usual heady white floral or rose scents. Gucci Bamboo is that sharp, it snaps me out of my stupor after the first spray!

Projection is not bad and the longevity is alright for the price. Not my favourite but it serves a purpose in my collection.

kittywhiskers

Surprises me that so many people describe this as mature, because to me this is the perfect perfume for a young 20-something, but can also be worn by someone older. It's very fresh in the opening with notes of white floral and citrus. The opening smells like watered-down Gucci Guilty - must be the bergamot. The base is very musky and clean. Overall it's a very good daytime scent, and personally I'd say it's a pretty safe one. Dunno if I'd buy the full size, but it's slowly growing on me. Good for blending in with everyone else, not for those who like to stand out. Lasts all day on me. 9/10

rachel19971

I only have one word for this - ISH

Mira20040313

Oh it's incredibly mature, and kind of "dark" and deep if that makes sense. It lasts really long tho which is nice. I could probably only get away with it in a professional setting.

UPDATE: This might sound super weird, but - both my sister and I think this is a "funeral" fragrance. Similar vibe to Death & Decay by Lush. Sooo incredibly heavy in white florals, with a dash of wood at the base, that it quite honestly smells like attending a funeral service in a room full of flower bouquets and a wooden casket.

Lanascola

Too mature for me and soo unbelievably boring. For this reason i think it'd be the perfect work/ professional setting type perfume.

(This might be a follow up review YEARS after I initially tried Bamboo) This is a very clean, mature, professional scent. I don't like lily but I do love ylang ylang so it's a bit of a wash here but I do find it to be pleasant. There's something in the opening that smells like an antique shop which isn't great, but it does go away on the drydown. I wouldn't purchase this but don't hate it.

Katiewatie83

This is so lovely, it reminds me of back in the day when i used to wear very irresistible by Givenchy or chance by Chanel. Utterly beautiful. I can smell the citrus but it's not sharp, it blends with the florals beautifully.

NoelliaOphelia

Overall, I liked this perfume but I don't think it suited me at all. It was too mature on my skin. The top and middle notes of citrus, lily and ylang-ylang really clung to me, and I'm not a huge fan of lily anyway. I didn't get any of the base notes at all in the dry down.

LSAUG

Gucci Bamboo is truly gross. If Lilies smelled like this I would hate them. Sickly, fake, obnoxious and cheap. It smells like a cheap body lotion that has spoiled.

D1921

I gave this a second chance and it’s really good! To me it’s a green lily, not an intense lily. The dry down is creamy vanilla/sandalwood. I think this fragrance is pretty and versatile. I will wear this quite a bit. It is floral but a bit modern.

likesleet

green & lemon. i actually like this more than I thought I would. bright summer beach day.

maistylz

Imagine a world where the sun is hot, sand between your toes and exotic spices fill the air. This fragrance will take you there with its robust accents of amber-infused woods accompanied by sweet vanilla from Tahitian flowers that linger long after each inhale has been taken in deep.

This fragrance understands what it means to be captivated by beauty more than just skin deep; instead bringing out your most intimate desires for closeness with its sophisticated yet robust mixology that will have everyone around smelling like they're living in an expensively decorated tropical paradise!

johanna.lindholm

I accidentally bought a 75 ml bottle of the EDT first, and I finished it at a record speed (a couple of weeks!!) because it was so weak. I did really enjoy the scent though, so I purchased the EDP version this time around. They are very similar, but the EDP is deeper, has a creamy softness to it and has better projection and longevity than the EDT. The EDT is greener, fresher and more sparkling, but the longevity is crap unfortunately. I do like the EDP a lot, it's really good for daytime wear at work or in the heat when you don't want a lot of perfume. It's really nice and fresh, makes you feel uplifted for sure. It's really floral, and has a warmth to it as well. The bottle is beautiful, really minimalistic and classy looking with the heavy glass and the metal bamboo cap. Looks good on the vanity table. The only thing is that this perfume really is pretty expensive for what it is. I don't imagine me buying this full price, I bought this second hand at a very good price. I don't think it's worth that much money, so if you can get it with a discount or on ebay or something, that is definitely preferred.

Rehderja

Musky clean and green. Comes off very feminine for me. Smells good, but also more mature.

Lykopa

This gorgeous lily scent has this refinement to it that I have not been able to find anywhere else! The citrus balances out the white florals to keep it light while still keeping it grounded in the sandalwood. This scent was made for expensive brunches, cocktail parties, and late night emails.

Ambrocia scents

This is a sultry one! I hate citrus perfumes, the citrus isn't so pungent, but everything is such a smooth blend I forget there's bergamot in here. It makes me think of what a perfume with sugar and salt should smell like, instead of that screechy old lady invasive salt note that makes you squint your eyes in Olympea (my sister said it smells like vinegar lol). I could have this in my collection all my life its that good!I love gourmand heavy night time/ winter scents but this was also love at first sniff for me, give it a try!

KCat

To me, this is a beautiful summer fragrance. It's not complicated. It's safe, summer simplicity. Great choice for your beach, lake or any other summer holiday.

RandomPatterned

Citrus opening, then becomes floral (lily and a tad Ylang - & maybe a bit of lotus), with hints of bare warmth from the base - more vanilla than sandalwood to me. To my nose, I don't find any of the offensive elements others have mentioned on my skin. Decent, light, nothing unique, office friendly. The most interesting thing about this is how polarizing it is.

Atina365

I love it, it’s refreshing and agrees with my skin chemistry. It’s citrusy and I definitely get the vanilla.

D&gredcap

Skin is an actual ingredient of how weak or potent any scent can be. Having said that….don’t leave yourself with what everyone say …just go and try it on your own skin ….perhaps for others this might be amazing unlike for you or viceversa. This was gorgeous on me (I’m a male with very soft skin) and abhorrent on a friend of mine (he had a thicker and hairier skin complexion)

Mary.am1

I got this as a gift..
Unfortunately, I absolutely hate this perfume !
Too much bergamot!!!
Burns your nose on the first spray😤
Too overpowering.. I read somewhere that it’s similar to (dolce and gabbana light blue) .. Not even one note is similar .. Not fresh at all ..

It doesn’t smell like an old lady .. and definitely not a young scent.. I just can’t understand it
Too green , grassy , trying to be aquatic but not getting there ..

Base notes of Vanilla and amber?!
I cannot smell any of these .

I gave it to my friend she sprayed it and it completely disappeared after 2 hours 😒
For that price and this low performance?
Just a NO 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

SuperSueChick

This is a very pretty perfume. Its not sexy, its pretty.
It isn't complex or groundbreaking. However, its very feminine and clean. Not soapy, but rather perfumy. Office appropriate.
I wouldn't say CEO, rather accounting supervisor.
I was horrified in reading the reviews that it smelled like cat urine, as not to say the vulgar word used.
Good grief, that's a little extreme. That must have been some bad bottles that somehow turned idk.
However, my experience is that its a fantastic little fragrance.
I'm incredibly picky. I don't like too floral, or powdery, and this is a fresh bouquet of fresh white flowers with Lily being the star, but not in a bad way. Believe me I easily get nauseous, and this didn't induce a headache.
The opening is my favorite, its a crispy bamboo illusion like, but beautiful Bergamot with department store perfume. I like it.
Its a safe buy, I think. Buy a sample if you're iffy.
All I can say is that the reviews scared me, but I'm glad I bought it because its a very pretty one if you want a quick clean, perfumy scent to run errands.
It lasts a good 8+ hours. I sprayed it this morning, I've showered, am ready for bed and I still smell it a bit.
Hope this helps ツ

Oh, I read someone say it smelled like toilet. Maybe a clean restroom at Bergdorf Goodman or Barneys NY.
But hey, to each their own. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

takema

Oh, this is so bad it's actually putrid. To me, it smells like I am wearing a pretty fragrance, then a baby puked on me. i think the sandalwood (a note that I often hate) and the lily may be responsible for wrecking this fragrance for me. Both notes can turn foul for me. I have since learned to not blind buy fragrances with these notes. There are some beautiful components in Bamboo. The bergamot opening is bright, fresh and sweet, but fades very quickly (a couple minutes). Once that fades away the lily really dominates the fragrance and it has that smell of death and decay that lilies sometimes get. It's too bad because the other florals in the background are quite pretty and I like how the amber and vanilla round out the base. They stay light enough to make what could have been an easy to wear, everyday fragrance.

This fragrance is better in the air and on clothes where the lily stays lighter and fresher. This tells me that a lot of my distaste for this fragrance is my body chemistry's fault. I can see how it could be lovely if it behaves better on your skin. Also the nauseating element is more pronounced with a heavier spray and in heat. I could probably tolerate wearing this very lightly and only on my clothes. But I have so many other fragrance I love, I think it's better to find this one another home.

The performance is reasonable for a lighter fragrance. It lasts 4-6 hours with very strong projection for 1-2 hours then stays much closer to the body. I find the sillage much more attractive than how the fragrance smells up close. I find it a feminine, but not girly fragrance. It could almost be unisex.

Although there is no bamboo in this fragrance, it is present in the bottle design. I find the bottle simple and attractibe with the faceted, heavy glass bottle and a cap shaped like a bamboo stalk. Unfortunately the cap fits very loosly on my bottle, I don't know if I just got unlucky or if that is the case with this line.

honey_eyed

Honestly, I don’t get why so many people dislike it so much.

It smells great, really fresh, mature without being a “grandma smell”, and it’s almost like a "your skin but better" type of fragrance.

When you spray it initially, it can be a little strong, but then it settles on your skin, and it’s not suffocating after that. It does last a lot of time in my clothes and skin, but it’s not really a strong smell, you’d have to actually sniff me to get a whiff of the perfume (that is, unless I wear a lot)
I mostly get the lilies and sandalwood notes from the perfume, and I really like that. It’s really refreshing, and just what I was looking for.

A lot of people mention that it’s “too basic”, but in my case, it actually stands out from what my friends tend to wear (they usually gravitate towards more “sweet” fragrances, and they use a lot of rose scented stuff too). It might be because of my age group, but it really does stand out.
I’ve actually gotten a bunch of compliments on it, including today.
I was in class, and I had just sprayed some of this on after lunch break, and my friend (who was standing next to me) asked if someone had just sprayed perfume because it smelled nice.
When I mentioned it was me, she said it was a really good smelling perfume lol

Lisa Lee

Don't love this one. It's not terrible. It's just not one I would buy again. It is a soft fragrance, but there is a note in it that I don't care for.

g_kinga

meehhh...smells like the cheapest air freshener. I don't understand the positive reviews or is anything wrong with my nose ?

Dead Memories

First of all is it strange that im commenting and reviewing ladies perfume? i guess not when you are enthusiastic about scents : ) while everything and anything is subjective this is my take on this one and right of the bat i Dislike it....
Ok the name is Bamboo its written right there so i expect there be a bamboo note like D&G light blue femme or MB Starwalker but nope its just a name ,... and now a bit of detail , upon first spray there is bergamot , O/blossom with underlying hint of Ylang^2 , the bergamot is just gone in seconds, i ask myself was it really there? this part is cool floral and sweet after a white i can detect hints of lily but its overpowered by the O/blossom note this part remind me of lady million , then after couple of hours there is a soft sandal woody mildly ambery sweetness at the base probably with white musk galaxolide , still reminds me of LM and thats that , i wonder why ladies perfume should be this bland and simple but tbh there might be a problem with my nose or either with my skin i assume !! anyways what i stated is what i get with this one , i think for what it offers it's over priced , longevity is meh ok-ish (im testing a 75ml edp 2016 version,... and no its my sister's;) projection....!!! its non existence what are U talking about , nice bottle though in conclusion dont even bother with Gucci Bamboo its a waste

FrkFors

A grown-up elegant perfume, perfect for spring and summer! A very "easy grab" kind of scent. The lily and ylang together creates a beautiful "tropical" smell. I imagine this would layer very nicely with a coconut scent or body butter! It can seem a bit heavy in the initial spray, but after 10-15 minutes it's beautiful. It's actually quite light. The only downside with this, is that it disappears rather quickly... I will buy a small atomizer to bring this in my purse to reapply.

maritzza

It's a clean and professional floral fragrance. For me, the lily note was too overpowering and I didn't like the smell at any point.

Amandatavares

I’m shocked no one has mentioned that this smells palmist identical to Tommy girl

Niebla06

Un perfume que en México cuesta casi $3,000 no dura casi nada en la piel y su aroma es como atalcado de viejita.
No vale la pena.

annxyz

This is lily dominated and well balanced , perfect for a woman who likes understated elegance and is not attention starved . This is feminine and classy and quite lovely .

ricep0et

My mother owns this, and initially I thought it was a pretty clean floral.

Then the fucking middle notes hit, and GOD they were mid. The lily is overpowering and I hate it. I can't take this anymore.

*loves_shoes*

Got a 30ml on a plane years ago, and just finished it.
It’s nice, a powdery white floral with a soft woody amber base. Maybe a touch of citrus but mainly a powdery white floral. Has a kind of clean feeling, like freshly washed towels.
But I don’t think I’ll rebuy it. Too many fragrances too little time!

Raluko111

Last year while flying to Bangkok, I purchased a face mist from duty free and got this body lotion as a free sample. I don’t really use it as body lotion. I mean, it’s just 50ml and it smells exactly like the EDP. However, this has become my summer fragrance and I really like applying it more as a lotion than as a perfume. While I liked the sandalwood fragrance in the EDP, it didn’t last very long on me. However, in the body lotion form, this lasts a lot longer on me, and it smells more as part of my own body. I just put a dollop of it on my upper arms and shoulders and it lasts and lasts without being annoying or mixing in with my sunscreen, which is rather remarkable. I don’t know how much this costs tbh, but I would like to repurchase.

Mikaisallovertheplace

Very white floral with a hint of citrus. Overall an inoffensive, every day, office appropriate scent. It’s clean, shampoo-like but gives off a professional vibe (a bit more mature than I expected). Would I upgrade my sample to a full size? Not really. There are nicer and more interesting every day scents, but go for it if you’re looking for a simple scent that will make you smell pleasant.

Coralein

I was complimented that this scent makes me attractive, professional, feminine but also playful. It is exactly what I love. A hidden gem. Not too distinct, but overall very pleasant. It is my go to and hope it never gets discontinued.

Ismellroyal

This smell is serious. Very business and to the point kind of woman. Good for going to work, maybe an interview. It keeps a respectful distance between you and the person. Not really sexy or playful. Very clean. She's not misbehaving. But it changes as well as time goes by. At first you get the "bamboo" then you're left with jasmine citrus.

VeroniqueReed

This fragrance on my skin smells like a toilet, I absolutely despise it 🙈🙈

FunkyTomo

Weak as hell.... I can hardly smell any of the notes. Utterly boring non-perfume.
I've body mists with more OOOMMPHH than this. Terrible for the price.

ScentBliss555

I'm just beginning my perfume journey but I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that designer fragrances although beautiful are incomplete concepts. Layering fragrances isn't a choice, it's a necessity. This one is a perfect example. At first spray, a full-bodied, juicy note entices me and makes me want to keep smelling the journey of this scent. Its a quick turn around thereafter because the lingering pungent "pee" note I heard of and thought I was going to be able to surpass lingers long. I've made up my mind to keep all my fragrances for at least one calendar year so I get creative at night and experiment with fragrance combinations I don't like on their own (with many fails in between).

I am so enamored with the opening of Gucci Bamboo. I am glad layering it with Valentino Donna's cosmetic/powdery scent seems to do the trick of keeping that urine note at bay. Not a perfect match but they really help bring out notes in each other that makes me appreciate them more together than on thier own.

Chaviva

Gucci Bamboo EDP is a nice clean white floral scent. I feel that it has a good long lasting strength. From the time that I applied it to my skin until it disappears the scent is sweet and not overwhelming. I would repurchase.

fem_phoenix1109

I thought I liked this from a sample so I bought a bottle, but the more I smell it the more I can't stand it. There's something in it that is thick, suffocating and cloying. I can't figure out what it is as I like all the notes listed. I take it out once every couple of months to see if my tastes have changed (happens to me all the time) but it just seems to get worse every time.

twiztidladii

I can’t remember if I’ve ever reviewed this. I’ve owned it for 5 or 6 years. Started with the EdT and now I just bought a larger bottle of the EdP for Christmas. Gucci Bamboo is an underrated beauty for sure. Out of all my perfumes, this one would be the “everyday classic” for me. It can be worn in any situation. It’s a beautiful, clean, fresh, citrusy but also floral fragrance. I feel like any age could get away with wearing this also as the citrus isn’t “too” tart and the florals arnt powdery. Definitely give it a try!

Snowflake8000

This is a bit too subtle and too plain for me. It’s nice, but too floral and too soft for me. This is an airy, light, floral. Nicely done. (Would also call this a bit soapy.) Also, I bet this opens up very nicely in warm weather.

Cloud Awhirl

I love this EDP. If the longevity was better, it'd be a definite candidate to be a signature scent for me. I can't decide on a signature scent anymore. There are so many to love.

SalamanderBanjo

Not my every day perfume but I can see it being someone else's! It smells classy and professional. I wear it when I want to feel disguised as a normal lady.

Vlada_Pechenaya

Does someone else get “the tanned skin” note from this? Or is it only my nose?

Vlada_Pechenaya

I had high hopes for this, based on the notes. Went to the store to test, and what I got on my skin was some flowers plus some king of “tanned skin” note. You know, when you tan, your skin gets a special smell, under direct sunlight. This fragrance has that note for me. I thought this was intended, and went back to check the notes, to figure out what gives me this impression. Didn’t find the note who is to blame for this. I don’t dislike it, just not what I expected from this.

Scentedalterego

Versatile and unique (yes really) beauty!

My second review for this, that’s how much I love it! Still love it years later. So underrated. She gets called generic but at the same time there is noting actually similar in the ‘reminds me of’ section apart from the other iterations. This is like an updated Pure Poison with added Ylang and vanilla. The scents aren’t similar apart from the white floral-citrus-musk aspects but the effect is similar. It will envelop you in a soft scent-bubble of attractive feminine goodness. People (especially men!) will think you smell so good, and wonder if it’s your shampoo or laundry detergent. Lasts the entire day with perceptible sillage.

This would make a great gift, layers well with any vanilla, great pick for both dates and work, and is suitable for most weather conditions. Very versatile. Get the EDP, the EDT is just a weak impression lacking depth and creaminess.

There are rumors of this getting discontinued but the big retailers still carry it. I got backups but I hope they won’t actually discontinue it.

jessr777

Smells very fresh and clean, if not a bit generic. Would have liked to see how it settled but had to scrub quick bc I felt a headache coming on right away with this one.

Millefolium

I get floral and fresh spicy. It's nice, if generic. Does not last long on my skin. Inoffensive skin scent. The bottle is pretty, and that's about all this fragrance has going on. That said, it could make a nice gift, if you end up with a bottle and aren't sure you're going to use it (regifting box I'm looking at you!)

Tropicat28

I have a love hate relationship with this fragrance. Probably due to the Lily note which tends to remind me of funerals. I can only wear it when I’m in the mood for it and when it’s really hot. And when I do, I wear it with coconut lime lotion which makes its smell really good. It smells of freshly printed dollar bills. I just wish the lily was toned down. I actually have the limited edition bottle but left the review here because they are the same fragrance and who is checking the reviews on the limited edition bottle anyways?

Jessicawallace98

Got pressured into buying this in harrods, but I’m so glad I did! It’s beautiful. It’s definitely one I save for special occasions. Received so many compliments on it whenever I’ve worn it, it’s fresh, floral, flattering and just smells “clean”. Definitely a good buy!

emmascents

A beautiful clean, fresh floral fragrance with impressive lasting power / sillage (on my skin!). I really enjoy this for low effort days. It should be noted that I’m not a huge floral fan in general, but the sandalwood and ylang ylang make this a creamy floral which goes well with the freshness of the citrus. A favourite!

stephania3000

I tried this at Ulta and it didn’t stand out. Fast forward a few months and I saw a great price online and bought it just because of the price.
It quickly became one of my favorite scents ever.
I’m not sure what it is about this fragrance but it is so clean and creamy at the same time, I am in love. On me it lasts about 7-8 hrs.

SmellsLikeMoneyWellSpent

My fav shampoo frag. Easygoing, Fresh, flowery and I love the Bamboo bottle design.

la.femme.scent

I tested this fragrance at Ulta today and it smells so nice and fresh and inoffensive. Not sure how it performs on skin but on the paper strip it smelled like it had potential to be a signature freshy!

diandra96

lovely smell. but agreed with most of the reviews here, nothing really special and not loud. very clean and fresh, def smell the yellow floral. overpriced though for this performance :(

jakielius

I liked this fragrance but I didn’t love it. Good scent and lasted a while on my skin, it just didn’t wow me and isn’t the fragrance category I tend to go for. I found it to be very fresh, clean and citrusy and the sandalwood/vanilla in the base notes really help darken it up a bit. I actually enjoyed using this perfume as an “after shower” scent.

Themonkboughtlunch

Too strong and floral for me. Instant headache. It smells okay though, I just can't stand wearing it

kcoughlin

It's nice, a clean white floral/citrus combo but I don't think it's nice enough to justify the price for me.

Emilie02

I just purchased this, and I will say this is your normal "flowery" scent, but with a little more depth and notes that make this stand out - at least to me. It gives you a "clean out of the shower" feeling, and I feel very elegant every time I wear it. To me, it smells expensive and a little more complex than just another flower perfume. Not loud, nor offensive - just elegant and lingering.

I also have to add that I'm typically not a fan of flowery perfumes, but this just checks off everything that I look for in a clean, fresh, elegant-smelling perfume.

imimsd12

This is very lovely definitely need this in my collection..

Aliciajadelangkell

if this perfume had a zodiac sign she would be a virgo. simple clean nice and feminine it’s not very strong /doesn’t last long on the skin but it’s so nicee and fresh

Junej

(29 F. Combination skin, leaning toward oily).

I have been sampling some fragrances for the summer, including Gucci Bamboo EDP.
I was pleasantly surprised by how this turned out. Opening notes are definitely citrus, but dries down to a white-flower (as many have pointed out). Not a fan of citrus scents in general, but love bergamot, so it hasn't bothered me that much. I can pick up on the sandalwood, and a little of the ylang ylang, lily and orange blossom.

I agree with FiligreeAngel that it is on the weak side (longevity, and silage-wise), but that makes it perfect for the summer. And, for someone whose skin is prone to projecting perfumes quite strongly, this is a bonus. Plus, it is one of those linear scents that can be layered, and I have been doing just that!

realitygreene

Gucci Bamboo is one of my favorite low-maintenance perfumes. By that I mean I don't really give it much thought day-to-day, but when I wear it I always enjoy how I smell. It's incredibly underrated as a well-blended white floral that can be worn year round and for any occasion. I can see why it's overlooked - there is nothing loud about it nor is it full of trendy notes, but I think it's such a beautiful fragrance. It smells so lovely in general, but especially on my skin. My only gripe is I hate how Bamboo doesn't come in a 3.4 oz size....2.5 oz is some BS. Currently I own a rollerball, when I use it up I hope to buy a large bottle. I have a feeling this fragrance will be discontinued/phased out within the next few years which is upsetting to think about, but I think Bamboo is a really unique composition of these notes. I could see this being a fragrance for all ages! 9/10 for sure

SnowFleur

I have had this perfume for a year but I don’t wear it very much. I wore it again last night and I started to think a bit. It smells very similar to Burberry Body EDP and Marc Jacobs Daisy EDP. To test this theory I spayed each wrist and one knee….ran out of wrists!!! To me it smells like three different people were given the same ingredients but they combined them in different amounts. I like them all but don’t see myself reaching for any of them this summer. A bit too much for me right now!!
Anyone else find these similarities?

cassiesta

I don't know what it is about Gucci Bamboo, it's nice, but doesn't wow me. I like it, but it's like it doesn't have enough character, nothing about it really stands out. I like the vanilla in this, I just wish something in it was more striking, you know? I mean, judging by the notes listed it could be just very simple, but I've smelled other perfumes with the same amount of notes or less listed that smell more complex and nice than this. It needs something more to elevate it. The bottle is nice and I appreciate having this. This won't bother anybody, won't really make a statement, but is that really a good thing?

Pamilo

Bamboo is a white floral of purity, simplicity and elegance. But, it takes a bit of working out. There's more to Bamboo than first impressions.

I have an olive skin, and on it lily, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and amber find their full expression. The sandalwood and vanilla convene to balance out the florals to effect a 'green' airiness, a powdery softness and crisp freshness of hotel bed sheets. Bamboo projects unobtrusively but does at least last many hours on me even in the warmest of weather.

If you've ever been to Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on the north side of the Piazza del Duomo, this is the scent of the forty-something exquisitely attired lady who helps you choose your €300 cashmere jumper inside the noiseless, deeply carpeted, more exclusive boutique. Everything about her is a projection of understated Milanese sophistication and eunoia. Patrons seeking her poise can't quite replicate it. Part of her intangible allure is her scent, which is entirely in step with her patrician beauty – just in an understated Miss Moneypenny kind of way. Bamboo is her scent.

I have always loved Gucci scents. Something about them marks them out. Others notice when I wear them too. Bamboo is versatile: a perfectly good choice for daytime and evening. For all its simplicity it doesn't stray from the Gucci ethos, and it is actually my favourite from the house since their outstanding and much missed 2002 Eau de Parfum.

A brief mention of the bottle: a sturdy and pleasingly faceted flacon with good heft and a stylish stopper. A distinguished combination that would grace any dresser. 💚🤍❤️

basicbae

To my nose this smells almost exactly like honeysuckle in the late afternoon of a hot day.
General description:
I get white flowers blended really well with something citrusy and spicy (the spice is barely noticeable to me but enough to make things interesting, like fresh cut flower stems) and something slightly sweet in the background which I'm guessing is the amber because it doesnt smell vanillic at all.It doesnt smell artificial at all which I really like.
A little timeline of the scent progression:
Upon spraying, I sometimes get a sharp jasmine note which thankfully goes away after a minute, and then I get lovely orange blossom and white lilly. After about half an hour it gets a bit sweeter and spicier and it really does smell like honeysuckle. Thankfully, it stays that way until it disappears from the skin.
Longevity:
It stays for about five hours on me. So far it seems to be on par with most white floral dominant fragrances that ive worn. These notes don't stay a very long time on my skin and I'm used to it so I reapply.
Projection:
It sits kinda close to the skin, but it doesn't go unnoticed if someone is sitting right next to me. I am satisfied with it, because I like discreet scents that dont make others notice you because of them.

In conclusion:
I have to say that this is a little bit generic and I dont think it would jump out to anyone but it is so lovely. A very inoffensive spring and summer scent that I could easily wear every single day and still find interesting.

sallyming

Smells like Gucci Bloom to me but lighter maybe because of the bergamot. I like Gucci Bloom. But I think that's better worn at night. Bamboo is for the day.

ariellecoambes

The vanilla / lily / orange together evoke a honeysuckle-for-grownups feel, almost jasmine. The drydown moves the scent from early citrus through lasting white floral. I don't like powdery scents and it does have a little in it. I'm keeping it because it feels like a more refined option for a spring scent - something I'd wear to a wine tasting, but not every day.

Peacelovecolorart

I read so many reviews that this was youthful, fresh and light that I expected an aquatic citrusy fresh floral. It doesn’t smell like that to be at all. I was put off initially by how warm, powdery, and soapy it was to me. I kept giving it a chance and now that I’ve let go of my expectations I find it quite nice. I would describe it as a warm white floral. The initial spray is very different from the dry down but it’s because of that bergamot and it fades within minutes. Then I really get the flowers, sandalwood, vanilla and amber. It’s hard to pick up one note because it is very well blended, but I do think they are all there in the dry down, minus the bergamot. It is a comforting, feminine, sophisticated. I don’t find it youthful, I think girls will find this too “mature,” however, it isn’t old fashioned. It’s warm without spice.

Klio

I wanted to like this, but unfortunately on my skin smells like urine.

mangokaitlyn23

I hate this perfume! on initial spray it honestly smells like cat pee, once it dries down you can smell the flowers but i honestly had to wash this off

Phemia

I'm surprised I didn't care much for this because I'm usually a fan of white floral fragrances and the white floral in Bamboo is very apparent. I thought it was pleasant at first. It starts off like a typical white floral, I could easily pick up on the orange blossom and a bit of the lily. It has a fresh, green opening that I think could be partly due to the bergamot but it doesn't smell very obviously citrus-y or fruity to me. The vanilla and amber are there in the beginning but they come out more as it dries down as does the sandalwood which remains pretty quiet until the fragrance has some time to settle. Bamboo gets less sweet and starts to smell a bit soapy the longer it sits. All that is fine, but the primary reason I find this fragrance to be just OK is that as it dries down, there comes a sharp, way-too-much-pepper note that coupled with the sweetness fading makes this too piercing and not soft and fresh like I wanted this fragrance to be.

I also found the strength to be rather low and doesn't project very well. It also faded pretty quickly too. OrientalVanillaGourmand mentioned it might be discontinued. It's definitely no longer on the Gucci website, but if it was discontinued I'm not all that surprised. I wanted a lot more from this scent and I didn't get it.

Tropicat28

Gucci Bamboo edp and the edt is no longer on the Gucci website. This leads me to believe that it has been discontinued.

cresol

Opening is unremarkable and perfumey. Dries to a sweet vanillic white floral.

Billysniffs

I love this so much! It is elegant and classy. It smells expensive. It doesn't crowd the room or choke anyone being overpowering, but it IS there, and I like that perfect balance. It is sexy and mature. Capable and focused. It conjures images of people perfecting their talents and snatching success that awaits them. Like, you know how Marylin Monroe was asked what she wears to sleep, and instead of saying 'nothing', she said Chanel No5? At first I thought maybe she said that to tactfully NOT say she slept naked, but with this perfume and my attachment to it, I can understand how her mind identified it as something she actually wears. I feel like it IS an accessory in a way that I really could just wear this to bed and still feel like I'm accessorized. I'm wearing something that makes me feel beautiful and confident, so if I want to dress up or wear jeans and a sweatshirt, I put this on either way and still feel like I am the expensive investment and not the clothes. Maybe that's when you know you've got your signature scent; when you find the scent that makes you feel like YOU and comfortable in your own skin. The ylang-ylang is intimate and enticing, and I think that and the vanilla is what gives it the sex appeal. The sandalwood grounds it nicely as the citrus pulls it all up from sinking too dark and brightens it just enough. I think the lily must be what is solidifying it as a definite feminine scent. This is my signature scent, and though I can still easily get it, Gucci isn't selling it on their site, and when I contacted them they said they don't know if they have plans to make more but didn't want to flat out say that they discontinued it, so that makes me nervous. It will be very hard to find a replacement, so I'm hoping they are just coasting until they sell what's in stock before making more.

I have not written many reviews, but here is my experience wearing Gucci Bamboo eau de parfum to work for the first time (which was today). I am a female auto parts sale rep, so I work with about 30 men and I also visit (service/sales) over 100 more men throughout my work week - therefore, I do not wear flowery floral perfume to work. I typically wear Liquid Cashmere Black (Donna Karan), sometimes Mon Guerlain, and Black Opium once in a while. But today was the first time I spritzed on Bamboo for work. The temperature reached mid to high 50s, with a breeze, and a tad bit of moisture in the air from melting snow and a faint mist like it might rain later. One of the shops had just opened the large overhead bay door when I walked in. One of the 2 main head technicians said to me, "Wow! Doesn't the air smell so much nicer for change. Spring must be almost here." Then a few minutes later, as walked past him, he commented that the fresh spring air was actually the scent trailing from me. I had perceived it as a skin scent on myself. But others could pick up on the light, refreshing, spring-like fragrance. It is not a strong, nor overpowering, perfume. It's a light, fresh, clean, smooth citrus (not sharp) with a soft floral hidden in the background. Maybe a faint touch of green vibe. I get no powdery vibe from it. And definitely no animalistic scent. I also do not detect any woodiness.

carlahoffman

A Blind buy that hits it out of the ball park for me. I love Gucci and Gucci Bamboo smells so good on me. It is a unique scent that starts with a pleasing bergamot that turns to a lovely white floral scent that trails through the air pleasing your senses . It caught my husband attention when he hugged me and i was told just how yummy I smelled to him.
Winds down to a nice vanilla amber scent that is long lasting with a good sillage. When I woke up the next morning I could still smell it on me. I don't feel that it will appealing to younger ladies, more of a mature scent , which is working great in this colder weather.

I'm a mess

I don’t know what to expected when I first received this sample, every thing just seems like another elegant perfume vibe but I was surprised
White silky woody powder floral freshen up by tangy bergamot on top, it’s have this cosmetic vibe to it maybe that’s the shampoo things people talk about but I like it
Not sure how to put it, this perfume for me feels professionally pretty like imagine what a strong, refined, white shirt, grey pencil skirt and suit person probably wear but if wear this dress down formal casual style wouldn’t be too far fetched.
This seems to work really nicely on a cool spring days, those day where the sunlight is warm fuzzy but the air is cool enough for you to not sweat type days however I can see the potential for this to turn sour so testing it first would be great.
If this work for you, it’s totally a signature scent worthy💖

Gucci Bamboo EDP is beautiful on my skin. I actually blind bought it as a gift for a friend who loves this type of perfume to wear to work, but I fell in love with it. I find this perfume uplifting, light, clean, sophisticated, classy and fresh. Bergamot is the strongest note, with its naturally sweet refreshintg scent . I'm not a big fan of orange blossom, but it's not so noticeable here. The florals are well blended, softly melding together into a more green than sweet blend. The sandalwood is gentle and calming. A bitter animalic amber emerges after the first 2 hours, but thankfully, it's not too intense, and serves only to give this delicate fresh scent its longevity. Gucci Bamboo EDP projects about a foot for an hour, then clings close to skin for another 4 hours. Non offensive, fresh clean scent perfect for office. Leans feminine, but could easily be unisex. I love it !

dorotaloveslifexoxo

This is my new favourite spring fragrance!!!
It smells incredibly clean with hints of citrus. Very classy.
It's generic, non-descript really, clean, inoffensive, popular girl kind of fragrance but that is it's appeal!

Golden Butterfly

it’s a blind buy based on notes and reviews and I hate it on me. The ylang ylang and animalic notes are dominant. The reviews are pretty positive. Maybe it will blossom in the summer heat as recommended.

brittxknee

I love what Lucritia Darke had to say. The reviews are all over the place. Some people say it’s nursing home urine and others love the powdery lily scent.

If L’Eau par Kenzo & Abercrombie & Fitch’s 8 had a love child it would be Gucci Bamboo.

Lucritia darke

Sometimes when reading reviews on hear I wonder if some of the people have actually smelled the perfumes, the opinions are so diverse. Take this for example, Bamboo is sweet, with warmth and sophistication. White florals with gentle vanilla and sandalwood dry down, a silk shirt worn over a strong toned tanned body. A perfume for every occasion. Simple classic and ultimately female, not the least bit bathroom cleaner, or harsh or granny. We are all entitled to an opinion but let's make sure were not just venting here, people read these reviews before committing to spending money, we owe them our honesty folks.

Bgm_1923

Pretty nice Gucci-style perfume. Very uniform, not bright, rather grayish and complex, there is a little cotton sweetness, for me it really smells a little of some kind of bamboo and bitter medicinal herbs.
Sagebrush, liquorice root, pond, moss and tree bark.
After woody-bitter aroma goes sweetness, as if you are drinking a concentrated decoction of wormwood and licorice. Strict and formal, but not luscious or simple. The perfume is more for winter-autumn, very persistent like all gucci perfumes. In my opinion good and very rare scent.

agp293

This fragrance is rather bland (though I'll say I don't see Lily featured every day in fragrance...) BUT I love it. Love it. I mean it is very versatile and pleasant. Excellent sillage (the only fragrance I have where someone stopped me in the hall and asked what I am wearing). It works with me, and when I first smelled it in 2015 in Heathrow, it just made me smile. It is satisfying and was vaguely familiar... evocative of some dreamy yesterdays that I can't quite pinpoint. Bamboo takes all of the easy beauty of a "shampoo scent" and elevates it to a perfume that would be a charming, clean, professional, likable signature scent.

evilscent

Starts off citrus shampoo scent similar to Daisy- very quickly turns into pretty white floral sandalwood. Calming and good for work.

Mbrock

I think this is one of those that is highly reactive to skin chemistry. I see all these negative reviews but this perfume smells amazing on me & lasts. I'm giving waves of beautiful lily all day. It has something making it more subdued and rounded, not a sharp scent. Beautiful Sheer did this same thing on my skin. People always said in reviews it was just nice but it bloomed on my skin. I think this is one you probably need to get a sample of to see how it reacts on you. If it works on you this is beautiful and luxurious smelling.

FiligreeAngel

This flowers on the hottest of hot days and I very much enjoy it. How's that for a simplistic review 😂

I overspray it as yes, it is true that it's on the weak side. To be honest though, on a hot day who wants a lingering strong fragrance?

This frag is one to consider if you struggle wearing the traditionally expected and more linear citrus spritzers of summer. Those ones tend to sour on me.

alisha-gabrielle

I loveee this. I don’t get why there’s lots of bad reviews?? It’s a beautiful scent. My every day one, I’m so happy I finally found a perfect day perfume that I can wear every day. I had too many night wear sprays (black opium, lady million, Olympia) which are all amazing just felt too strong for day time use. If you’re from the uk, you’ll know what I mean by when you walk into Debenhams and it just smells soo nice! This bamboo scent reminds me of this. It smells gorgeous, and classy. Definitely a signature scent of mine

GinaDK

Had a small sample of it at some point and remembered it to be quite nice, so I bought a 50ml bottle when I saw it on sale. Boy do I regret it. It smells like a basic hairspray. Boring, generic, nothing else to say. Gets a little better in an about 2 hours, but not much..

bel.gravia

The sales assistant sprayed some of the Bamboo EDT on a paper, and although I did not appreciate the opening, I did enjoy the way Bamboo EDT develops. The sales assistant asked if I would like EDP or EDT. The little devil in my head reminded me how I've tried EDP before, and how it smelled similar to Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi by Kilian, and how beautiful the ylang was. I've decided to go for the EDP although it was the EDT I tested on that day.
It is not that I actually regret having EDP instead of EDT - but I think I would have enjoyed the EDT more. It has a bright and sheer citrus kick in it that makes those florals bloom. The EDP is more tamed, perhaps longer lasting, but more tame, more of a skin scent. If you enjoy non complicated classic florals with a modern take you will enjoy Bamboo EDP. If you would like a more sparkling scent, go for EDT.

PurrParfumFan

I absolutely love this fragrance
It smells like luxury.
This isn’t a sexy fragrance.
This is a citrus, fresh, white floral fragrance.
The person commenting below me possibly smelled an old bottle.
I would definitely repurchase this fragrance, but it has been discontinued, and I still have around half a bottle.
Considering I’ve had it for nearly two years, I’m too scared to buy another bottle, as it might go rancid before I use it all

Tolkashutka

Received this as a sample years ago, and liked it enough to purchase a rollerball. Fragantica called it a “white floral”, and apparently that’s a pretty broad category that hosts several of my favorites. Like @peanutbuttercups, I don't get any sandalwood, which is a bummer. I think I like the florals (love me some ylang ylang) in this one, but I wouldn't know, because my skin just drinks it up so darn fast.

I'm immensely disappointed by the performance right now in December (seriously less than 20 minutes longevity on me right now), but I faintly recall the sample performing way better in the hot summer. Unless the longevity drastically improves (with a change in season or otherwise--do they make perfume primers?), I can't see myself buying a full size of this anytime soon.

okauds

was looking for a new “wear everywhere” scent and thought this one would be a good option since it’s a pretty well rounded fragrance but nevertheless this genuinely smells like a freshly cleaned public restroom to a tee.
i don’t know which note or note combination it is but it has such an intensely clorox-y smell.
keep in mind it could be my PH, but regardless it’s unpleasant, like a very cheap aftershave.
such a shame because the bottle is beautiful.
intoxicating in the worst way.
hard pass.

peanutbuttercups

Similar to other reviews, I find this perfume inoffensive but rather generic.

It smells pleasant enough- on my skin, the lily note is particularly prominent, but I don't get even a whiff of the sandalwood that is supposedly a base note for some odd reason. It's a light, clean and airy scent, and is office appropriate. The sillage is pretty awful for me, with average longevity (the dry down is rather powdery).

Not terrible. But nothing to rave about, either.

sunsetterxx

smells pretty nice at first but then it turned so powdery at the drydown. nothing special.

aulialovegreen

Ok, on my skin this one starts watery that then evolve into a yellow floral. this should be named Ylang-Ylang instead of bamboo. i have ylang-ylang tree in our childhood's house and bamboo definitely that ylang-ylang flower that starts turn into dark yellow-- i can even smell the familiar bitterness.

TerrCasey

No wonder this perfume is always on a sale - there's absolutely nothing interesting about it. Very basic and forgettable. It's gone in 30 min and while it's there, you can barely smell it. Every single time I go to the store to look for perfume, they try to sell it to me. Not worth even the sale price.

Soan

OK....where is Bamboo?!
My favorite bamboo, as of real one still remains sappy green Kate Spade Truly Gracious!

bintTapputi

I think I can see where people may really dislike this, there is some strange animalic notes in the start of it... but it's so light and fades so quickly it is hard to be put off by it. I really liked this compared to my expectations for it, it's nothing like what I'd choose to wear, but it's also not repulsive or mind numbing dull by any means. It's simple, light, clean, a bit soapy. I think it would be a good perfume for people with a preference towards light + soapy. Overall I don't have much to say other than it exceeded my low expectations. 6/10

Magifera

Cannot wear this. Smells like a very old person's clothing with a fecal - yes, fecal - whiffs. Wore it twice and kept avoiding people both times - absolutely inappropriate smell on me. No, a very firm and sound no. The bottle is gorgeous though.

kbbyk

Smells like an aunty. Maybe I'll grow to like it when I get older. Not sure. It gives a weird after spray scent. Hard to explain. Such a huge disappointment.

dannikats

It's such a shame that this fragrance is so beautiful, but with the worst kind of sillage...ever. Nobody around me can smell it; I really have to go close for them to get whiffs of it, so I'm thinking of getting Flora by Gucci because I think they have a similar DNA, but Flora probably performs better. Can someone share their thoughts on this with me?

EDIT: Ok, so this fragrance definitely performs better on hot days; it now has better sillage and different notes are coming through. I'm getting more amber and sandalwood. Wear this on hot days; it will shine. Though I doubt I will repurchase it.

Tuttidrutti

Very sensual, sophisticated and luxurious. It reminds me of tough businesswomen. Bamboo isn’t suitable for blind buy (my opinion) because bergamot and ylang-ylang is so strong. I wear it on days when I want to be business-y like!

jero

first the pure watery lotus flower, drydown to a sensual Casablanca lily, kind of the ylang-ylang + the jasmine (Jasminum officinale) thing, all very gentle and soft.

SnowFleur

I am wearing this right now and what I get is Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Burberry Body but a softer version of these. To me this is the perfect example of it smelling differently on each person. If you smell amber and vanilla? Sure why not! I don’t but everyone here seems to smell it a bit differently. Good news is I don’t smell like the next person wearing this!
I enjoy this perfume and find lasting power and sillage moderate so not bad overall😊

SeauxGood

Gucci Bamboo is a fresh, seductive fragrance for when you want to get your “grown woman” on. It’s mostly a floral amber fragrance, with vanilla and sandalwood in the dry down. I didn’t detect the bergamot at all.

Either way, I still really like this fragrance. It smells sultry and alluring, with an attention-grabbing sillage. I sprayed this on myself just sitting around the house, and now I’m thinking how it’s such a shame I have nowhere to slip out in a little black dress and pair of strappy heels. This would be a great choice for a date, formal event, or Girls’ Night Out. This luxe little number will definitely turn heads.

Jana711xx

Sadly it looks like this one has been discontinued as it no longer appears on the Gucci website. I tried to order from a John Lewis but it was out of stock and they were not anticipating a further supply. Shame because I think this is a very nice fragrance

Anamandy

Purchased this for a steal of a price early last winter as a blind buy and wasn't too impressed. Decided to give it a full wear, and while it's not bowling me over, it isn't as bad as I initially thought. It reminds me of a much lighter Cartier Baiser Vole. Much softer, but still mainly all about the Lily. Wearing it on a hot day it performed very well. Kept getting gentle wafts of it all day. The bergamot opening leads to a strong lily with some green notes. A light ylang and orange blossom play softly in the background. All is rounded out with a light amber and vanilla, and grounded on a base of creamy sandalwood. Personally, I prefer Baiser Vole, but since that is so much stronger, it might have been too much on this oppressively hot day. This gives me a similar scent but with a much gentler profile.

Had a drs. apt. after work and it was inoffensive and perfect for such a situation. Would work well in an office environment too, or any place you don't want your perfume to announce you. You'll just smell good. While there is nothing groundbreaking here, it is a fresh and clean scent with good silage and longevity. Nice to have when you want to wear something but not something that screams PERFUME. No matter how big a perfume collection one has there are times when such perfumes can be appreciated. This is one such perfume for me. Glad I own it.

TaraRachelle

This one is definitely all about lilies, which is unfortunate, because I despise the scent so much that if I'm given flowers with Stargazer Lilies, I have to pick out the lilies and toss them. If you like lilies, then this is well done-- that's all I smell here. I was hoping for some bamboo because that's one of my favorite notes, but it's not coming through for me.

I agree with Fava Beans-- she nailed it on the nursing home and stale urine comparison. However, I think real lilies smell like that too, so YMMV. I'm just so glad I got to try this on a sample card because I often blind buy after reading scent profiles and reviews. Sometimes I do like perfumes with lily notes (or other varieties like lily of the valley), but only if they're masked and not prominent, but this one is a huge bouquet of Stargazers, right in your face. It does settle some and let other notes through in drydown, but it's still too much lily overload for me.

Gintaxx

A very light, elegant, likable scent. Opens up with citrusy bergamot, then turns into a beautiful bouquet of lilies. Orange blossom and a touch of ylang ylang show up later on my skin, and it's magical! Stays close to the skin, but lasts a while. I often spray it while lounging around in my pj's at night, and I can still smell traces of it in the morning. Nothing too groundbreaking, you most likely smelled something similar before. But I will continue using it when I just want a nice scent with nothing particular in mind... It reminds me of 212 by Carolina Herrera, which, in my opinion, is a floral legend of the early 2000s. and I think that's why I keep reaching for it.

framboiseanais

This scent is cute. It's like pandas drinking cold floral tea and eating little vanilla cookies in a bamboo garden café 🐼 lol

Imalthia

I love the smell of lilies so this perfume is a dream come true for me. It starts off with a refreshing citrusy note and lily, and in the dry down you get a bit of vanilla and amber that give this perfume a sexy, mysterious touch. Very nice daytime scent for fresh-citrus lovers, and a compliment getter for sure!

dvlcis

The boring hedgehog of the perfume world )))

Cute in that way. haha

asjkfbs653

I love this one so much, I'm on my second 75ml bottle. The first one was a gift, a beautiful surprise.
To me it's a lovely watery floral scent that has good performances. It makes me think of trips to Japan: it's clean, quiet, delicate, definitely elegant, for a woman that doesn't need a nuclear-bomb-perfume to stand out.
The bergamot is so beautifully blended in - it doesn't scream, but it tames the lily and the jasmine. The ylang-ylang adds a subtle sweetness to it, but not the cloying kind or the one that gives you the rush of a spoon full of sugar.
A joy. Don't trust the scent on paper, you must test it on the skin. It absolutely needs the warmth of the skin to unfold.
Enjoy.

roxyjuliet

This is a very pretty floral and soapy fresh scent. It reminds me of the smell of a good shampoo. I love this type of scent - if you spray this in your hair it leaves a lovely floral trail around you.

manikaLewinsky

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH BLIND BUYING THIS.
If you look at the main accords - white floral, citrus, woody - and think you like those so you will like this, THINK AGAIN!
very OLDER LADYish , I wouldn't wear this as anyone under the age of 50. But it is a very 'clean' scent so if you like clean, you will like this.
This is absolutely not what I imagined, there's some note that smells very cheap like something you could find on the deodorant shelf at the supermarket. There's nothing special about this perfume, I would say this is like a deodorant I would put on after gym class at school. lol. Gucci has some nice, memorable perfumes but this is not one of them.

Spayed this on tonight before jumping in bed fresh out the shower and after it dried I smelt this rather familiar note one I HATE thinking is that ylang-ylang (THANKS METHOD SHOWER CLEANER). I jumped on here and yup thats the note its ylang-ylang although I hate that note its not bad here the orange blossom and citrus and amber dial it down to a calming, clean slightly soapy smell perfect for bedtime. Not to shabby.

iulianada

I wear it before I go to sleep 😴

Petula009

It's a very solid, clean white floral. Suitable for every day to office but also for the first date. Smells like a sweet innocence.
Vibes: innocent, clean, white dress
Form:2ml sample

Me.maxwell11

I first smelled and tested this when it first came out and I got the paper strip in the mail from Macy’s. I immediately thought it was similar to Calvin Klein Truth. Fast forward several years and I ordered from fragrantbodyoilz and popped Gucci Bamboo in my order for grins. I ended up loving it so much I also ordered the real deal from fragrancex. I love it, it’s a very non intrusive, clean, sexy scent in my opinion. I like scents that are more on the skin scent side. It’s a nice break when I’ve been wearing really sweet scents. I think I’m picking up lily mostly? It’s a very nice scent when I just want to smell light and clean.

MichelleMoon

There's something about this fragrance that brings up specific memories from my early childhood. It's a light, sweet, inoffensive floral fragrance that feels grounded in something woody or hay-like (in a good way). It's an accessible and likeable fragrance, but with enough complexity to make it intriguing and addictive. I can't stop sniffing my wrist. This one surprised me. It is very unlike my typical fragrances, but I love it.

mermaidylady

I've had a deluxe sample of this perfume for years, and when it first came out, I LOVED it. I wore it all the time in the summer. Over the past couple years, though, I've somehow grown to despise the scent of lilies. Now when I wear this perfume, lily is all I smell. So needless to say, my deluxe sample just sits unused. I will probably gift it to a friend. Lily lovers, give this a go! It has great sillage and longevity, and smells fresh. Good for spring and summer, but apply conservatively because it can overpower. If you don't like lily scents, stay far away!

Ivanqa

What a beautiful scent.. mmm..
Lilly and lime together with an overall white floral vibe - perfect.
This is a personal, close to the skin scent.
It's pretty and chic and suitable for everyday wear.
It never turns offensive and you can wear it all year round.
I find it great for when at home and when you'd like to relax because it's aura is just that. Comforting whilst staying elegant. Innocent and cosy and a real pick me up when I'd like to feel polished when my man comes home.
Men love it by the way.
Compliment giver for sure.
Some of you guys complain about a weak staying power. No scent works the same with each individual chemistry, but what makes a difference is using the whole range.
If you are committed :)
Starting with the shower gel, layering with the lotion and deodorant and only then ending with a finishing touch of edp.
Voilà.

Jasmindee

This perfume is so soft and elegant. A real skin scent. Like stepping into a fluffy white robe after a floral scented bath.

Very inoffensive and very likeable. I gifted this to my mother-in-law and she was delighted, and I couldn't help but have a little sniff as well.

Clean bergamot, fresh lilies, pretty vanila dry down. As a true gourmand and sweet perfume lover, I was really surprised that I liked this as much as I did. I don't usually reach for florals in my collection, but I would buy a bottle of this for myself.

If you want to smell sophisticated, expensive and classy, this might be the perfume for you.

gillbert

Lovely beautiful and elegance floral, unique scent that Gucci has made, it is becoming soft and delicate after an hour

Will Bagwell

For the "mature" woman.

DO NOT SPRAY TOO MUCH!

Smells better from the atomizer than it does when it settles on skin and/or garment.

NVK

I bought this for my mom. It smells amazing. It might smell harsh during inital spray but when it settles down you will find it elegant. For those who feel that this fragrance doesn't last longer, spray on your clothes to make it lasts longer.

As a guy, I would give 8/10 For this fragrance.

giedrute555

One of my favorite floral perfume!

chiana

This was actually mistaken order, I wanted to order Bamboo EDT as I prefer sweet and gourmand fragrances. But then I fell in love with this one. This is the perfect everyday office, work scent. It is ideal if you are tired of heavy and sickening fragrances. The opening of this one is a bit harsh but after 20-30 minutes it turns into pleasant, luxurious and feminine scent. The bottle is gorgeous. It is very long lasting, on me it sits all day.

chakalitpasshun

A screechy floral that tries too hard. Thank Goodness I only have the dabber of this and even one dab is too much. This was a deluxe sample so Im glad I tried it and not blind bought it.

Nyrahe

Bamboo is very feminine and elegant perfume but for my taste it´s a little bit softer than I would like it to be. Not a very unique scent but still has this "something" that makes you sniff your wrist all the way. If it´d cost much less I would probably buy it , but for it´s actual price I wont. But I would be definitely satisfied If someone gave it to me as a gift :)

KittyDeBeauvoir

I ...like it.
Kind of.

It feels like it's "trying" to be something, and juuuuust falling short of the mark.

Its bergamot tries to be striking, and isn't.
Its floral (lily and orange blossom) tries to be pretty, and isn't. It's barely there.
It's base notes (vanilla, amber, and sandalwood) try to be warm and sensual, and are - in fact - undetectable.

So...I have very faint scent with tiny hints of citrus lilies...which I find a bit strange, honestly.

I vaguely like it but not enough to repurchase. :(

***

Kitty rating: 4/10.

Husband rating: 5/10.

TyNel

So I've read the "no" comments on here, but ended up coincidentally tested it out while looking for a new perfume for my wife. And after about 10 mins trying it, I am convinced totally going to get her a bottle.

I cannot say this for every man out there, but I strongly believe that many men would agree that this stuff is hypnotic. I kept on sniffing the tested scent sprayed on my wrist and on the strip. The scent is so seductive in a very calm, lustful and sensual way, yet very personal to me (hard to capture all that I feel about it). I cannot wait to have my wife try it on (not sure how I'm gonna control myself).

Queen of torts

Fresh floral. Ideal for work as it is not offensive. Pairs well with VS "Love" lotion.

Scentedalterego

This is my most complimented perfume, really. And I have many. It doesn't seem special but the sillage and longevity of this one are awesome and that is what made me purchase it. People will just love smelling it on you.

It's a great everyday scent that I use mostly for work. Many workdays actually I am just in a rush and not in the mood for sexy/sweet/heavy/complicated fragrances or frequent retouches.

Then this is my default and it never fails me. It's sophisticated, yet clean, feminine and youthful and doesn't contain screechy or too sweet notes that bother you if you are tired. I am sure there is musk in this that isn't listed.

My only complaint is that the sandalwood in this one is a bit cheap smelling, but given that high quality sandalwood is endangered and rare I don't really mind, I think this is the best they can do. I have had my 50 ml bottle open for almost 3 years now and it hasn't turned, and now it's almost done. I rarely finish bottles but this one I will, and I'll also repurchase. I hope they never discontinue this one. And the bottle is one of the prettier ones I own!

lnoskin

When I first sprayed this I liked it. I got a fresh citrus aroma. Then as time went by, I couldn't stand the smell. I got this old lady smell. I was with my grandma and she even told me it smelt bad. So if you go to the department store and test this and like it, make sure to wait a day before purchasing so you can experience the dry down and how it changes!!!

This is a really soft lovely floral fragrance. It is not offensive and is safe for an office or work environment as the sillage is not that big. If you want to amp this fragrance up, try layering it with an amber oil and it really changes this fragrance into a beautiful ambery floral bomb. It just gives it a sexy quality, deepens the fragrance and makes it more complex.

The most beautiful light fresh clean floral fragrance I have ever smelled. I first discovered it by my friend from class in highschool. She smelled so amazing and you could smell her before you have even seen her. I was really surprised that most people voted for a weak sillage.
I do not know if she was bathing in this fragrance or what, but she always smelled amazing while wearing this one. I am not a fan of this type of light fresh floral fragrances, flowers usually give me a headache (I usually wear sweet gourmand or oriental spicy fragrances), but for some reason I really enjoy smelling this one.

So I Kinda like this but not really. I think the musk and woods are too intense and it gives off a really soapy effect. But I heard someone say that it mixes really well with Ariana Grandes Ari perfume. And I thought that’s just a typical fruity sweet scent I will just try it with my Pink Sugar perfume and voila it works! Gucci Bamboo with Aquolina Pink Sugar.

I really want to like this, it smells nice on other people. I don't find it sweet at all which makes it stand out among other florals. When I spray it on myself the alcohol smell is overwhelming. It burns my nose and I get a headache, even after half an hour of it sitting on my skin. I thought maybe my sample had gone bad, but the same happens with the tester at the mall.

Gift from my hubby. I love this. It is this clean shower fresh sort of floral woody scent. I don't get the citrus note except at first spray. I don't like the initial spray but I love the dry down.

Longevity: 8 hours
Projection: 2-3 feet around me
Recommend: yes.
Repurchase worthy: Absolutely

Edit 7/18/2020.
Don't love this anymore. Barely like it but layering it with Guerlain Eau De Fleurs De Cedrat helps.

I used to hate this fragrance, I judged this fragrance because of the opening notes said that it smell like detergent, until this lately I discovered Gucci Bamboo has the nicest drydown, it's like an elegant creamy powdery smell, and the lasting power is so good, great smell that I finally bought one (I keep it for my wife birthday).
