Established Cognac 66 Krigler for men

OMG the opening is like nothing I have ever experienced before in a perfume.
This is reminding me of primary school dentist bus expeditions, getting my first ever fluoride treatment! This is tapping into memories I haven't recalled in FOREVER -- in fact, these are memories I didn't even remember REMEMBERING -- these memories went straight to the archive and sat on the shelf for DECADES!
This is an apple-caramel blast, with DELICIOUS booze. The booze is without the standard sour/bitter aftertaste, or the overbearing alcohol-fermentation overtones. This is what teenagers imagine alcohol will taste like before they ever actually try it out -- you know what I mean? They look forward to trying beer or spirits, and then that ROUGH, coarse ethanol hits their tongues and they spit it out, or they force it down and pretend they actually liked the taste, Beavis and Butthead style. This is booze WITHOUT all the shock and horror you get from alcohol. There's a Kerosene scent that gets close to this level of smooth booze, but this one is NEXT level.
That said, I'm not sure I'd hunt this one down, not only because of the price tag (!!!), but also because it's quite similar to the aforementioned Kerosene scent (Precious Memory? Invisible Pleasures?) and I'm not sure I'd wear it as much. That said, this is a damn DAMN fine scent. Recommend at least trying this...

***EDIT*** Towards the end, unfortunately, Angels' Share, Oajan and a whole heap of other similar scent notes come out and it becomes a little, ummm...'done'? Unfortunate, as the start is beautiful...

Allisonmsmith22 bought a fake sample on ebay. Buy only from the Krigler shop and don't get scammed. For you to say "toilet cleaner" just goes to show how off your sample was.. This stuff smells absolutely amazing!

My other favorite of the collection. The only one that truly stood out for me! It's very dry, boozy, and woody (I'm talking REAL cognac & oak barrel), also smoky & chocolatey at times!

Scent - caramel apple & cognac.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the colder months, day or night.

Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment.

Longevity - I get 2hrs consistently.

A slice of woods (mostly oak) with Woods fillings on top in a wooden hut in summertime in a yellow forest as you can smell the sweaty woods, the sharpness of the wood fillings, & a mild sweetness hidden in between to soften the smellfull touch. Something like a tree blood a red bitter caramel.
Quite weird and kind of interesting but the price tag is quite bizarre!

I know many would not agree with my review, but here it is.

The start of Established Cognac is so seductive, so sexy, so smooth that make you want in a minute a glass of high quality cognac :)) To my nose, that unique start is really remarkable and there are not too many perfumes being so honest and bold right from the first minute - boozy, warm, woody with a touch of little seductive sweetness, coming from something like benzoin.

Soon after the perfume calms down, the magic begins - suddenly on my skin the note of incense is showing up in wonderful way and it's getting stronger and stronger... I know incense is not listed in the fragrance pyramid, but on my skin it is truly detectable and very natural.

Established Cognac is not too woody scent and it reminds me of something between Bentley for Men Intense EDP, Tom Ford Sahara Noir and L`Erbolario Myrrhae, because of that warm and mystery incense note. Of course, I'm not saying Established Cognac is like them, but on my skin it shares some similarities. To my nose, EC is closer to Bentley for Men Intense EDP, because of the same boozy, warm, seductive start...
I know many would not agree about my incense adventure with EC, but that's my nose/skin and that's how I feel about it.

I think Established Cognac is a great scent, unique and very warm, sexy, cozy, mature, great for colder months.

The initial blast is of straight up booze. The dry down reminds me of chocolate filled with liquor. It becomes softer and sweeter with the boozy notes still present. It sticks very close to the skin and didn't last nearly as long as I'd expect from such a fragrance. For what it is, it's a beautifully balanced fragrance.

A biggie. But sadly, another biggie disappointment too, for me. Bigger they come, harder they fall maybe?

We'll see with Kilian's Apple Brady (sample vial waiting right after this one)!

But of course now, the Krigler Bestseller, how good is it?

This is a booze bomb! But it's not bad, just, I expected a lot more from the 'appley' side of things.

After a horrid run of disappointing samples (such as Neela, Tauer, M Micallef, Xejoff (the worst ones), Creed's royal oud and So oud just to name a few!) - I was just ready to dismiss this one but it's Ok.

It starts super strong - women would be a bit daring to wear this but it opens with a very nicely done oak barrel note with some sweetness that really saved it from being a 1st second binner for me!

Then, the tidal wave of Premium cognac. Full strength, boozy and warm. Empowered by the largest oak barrel in town.

Just full-on a huge oak barrel that has been left to dry after being fully emptied of some rich cognac! Also a faint hint of something sweetly powdery and soft. Not too sweet, just tamely sweet, much boozy and woody.

I don't get a straight caramel at first but maybe a very very faint ghost of an apple peel in the backdrop.

That was sad because I really wanted syrupy caramel right away.

With what I was assuming to be a candied, syrupy apple but almost nothing! Just faint wisps of photo-realistic apple peel, even tinged a bit green than anything remotely sweet.

The whole show takes it's 'sweet' time but the syrupy sweetness *eventually gets louder and it starts being really really pleasant for me after an hour when the ratio of intense booziness to caramel sweetness dies down and it's more a soft caramel powder.

I wish this stage came far earlier, very disappointed in the wait =/

This gets me very excited for a similar blend but without the sheer booze-fest but more of a similar caramel note.

For now, if I can get past the full-force alco-pop shower - it's a good scent. It's main problem lies in the ratio of apple to booze, which is far too small.

Some will love that but, with a drydown so luxurious (once the booze tames down), I think Krigler missed a big trick here.

Basically, it should have started as how it becomes.

But I give full marks for that crazy emptied oak-barrel note! Thank you to scentsamples for the little decant.

Scent Quality: 10/10.

The first minute of this is EXTREMELY strong. The alcohol note in the first minute or so is strong to the point it almost makes me sick to my stomach. Like you know when you get knocked out or something, and the doc wiffs some stuff in front of your nose to wake you up? Ya they could use this for that.


Probably not even 5 mins later this goes the absolutely complete opposite side of the spectrum and is sits pretty close to the skin till it dies down.

Besides the opening that is just really out there and in your face, I dont have much to say about this. Look at the notes and thats pretty much what you get, no real surprises for me. Lots of cognac boozy alchololness, with a lot of red apple, and oak. Thats pretty much the main thing for me.

Looking at the review I do see someone mentioned it smells a bit like a banana and well although not what I think of while smelling it myself, I can see that actually a bit however weird that may sound...


Interesting to smell in its own kinda way, but not my thing.

Was very eager to receive a sample of this one. On my first spray I was amazed with the vapour of alcohol that was released, almost like fuel or gas. The smell of Cognac stings in the nose initially, but soon dies out into a rather weak sweetish oak scent. Pleasant though, but alas, very weak and short lasting. I would expect a lot more longevity and more Power from such an expensive fragrance, it takes quite a few sprays during the day to get the full benefit from this. All that said, I really LIKE this juice...

Hi I came across this brand of Niche fragrance in new York about eight years ago whilst I was on leave or holiday if you like from work. as I work within the fragrance industry and also passionate about fragrance I always when I am abroad like to take my interest outside of work and discover new and exciting Bespoke perfume brands. I just happened to be speaking to a member of staff in the fragrance and cosmetics hall of the famous sacks or Bloomingdales department store as we had a good discussion about fragrance he just happen to mention this new York Brand witch was founded in (1904). but this brand was only exclusive to the Plaza Hotel on (5th avenue)so I went along and tried quite a few and their were many witch I fell in love with but the one I ended up purchasing was the (Established Cognac 66)as I love sweet fragrances it was a bit pricy though but I have had it all these years. and although I have been back to new York a many a times since then I did purchase another fragrance from this brand as we do not sell it anywhere within the UK. however I used to work at Selfridges Department store at the time in oxford street London in an area where we sold Niche and Bespoke perfumery and I did mention this brand to our fragrance buyers in store. at that time they were trying to bring this brand over to London as I new that it would've been a big hit with customers and also Connoisseurs of Niche fragrance. And the two fragrances I own tend to work well with my pheromones or body chemistry if you like. great fragrances.

Verrygood stuff 6/10 probleme its a skin scent!!!

Horrendous projection and longevity on my skin. Defintitely not worth the price of admission.
Update: I was wrong about longevity as it has decent longevity. The problem is that it as poor to fair at best projection. IMO still overrated.

I was mesmerized by the thrilling adventure of booze, aromatic, mild sweetness, light fruits, spirits and woods from top to heart. But the powdery feel in the end was a terrible disappointment. My skin detested intense powdery smell.

Est Cognac is smells THICK! It comes out of the bottle with a strange aromatic fuel kind of essence. Reminicent of Nostalgia, the way it evolves rapidly on the skin from one thing to a very different thing within a matter of moments.

EC almost reminds me of a syrup. Maple? Biutter Pecan? Butterscotch? Not sure which one exactly, but its SWEET. STICKY, THICK, GOOEY, SWEET. There is however, a unmistakable dryness to the whole thing as well. A dryness that seems to contridict the sweet thick syrup smell, but it's there!

As it dries down on the skin it stays sweet, but now I am beginning to get the smell of the aged wood barrels, which store the liqueur and age it within their distinctive, character laden hollows.

For gourmand lovers this is likely a heavenly treasure! For loves of fine liquors and drinks, this may well be a trusted companion and friend. But for me who is neither of the aforementioned, it's just a very good, genuinely unique and singular, sweet gourmand scent to be revered and respected, but likely not owned.

Not just Cognac, it's the ESTABLISHED COGNAC!....One of the coolest names you will come across for a fragrance. In the manner of it's composition, it could of easily have been a Frapin product. Even with all it's gourmand sweetness, this never becomes offensive. There's no need for a note breakdown because all of the notes compliment each other in a way that nothing smells out of place or unordinary. I would call this an occasional scent, definitely something you would wear on a first date. I was lucky enough to not experience the weak longevity that others complained about. I can't remember the duration but it wasn't negatively noteworthy. Most gourmand lovers have never heard of this fragrance. For the sake of "going left", i think it's worth looking into.

Opens like pure cognac. Initial dry down smells like bananas foster....caramel and over ripe banana.....in this phase it's too sweet for some men but soon some dry woody accord appears and balances the whole thing out. Smells well made and very unique but it’s on the weak side, especially for the price

Krigler ESTABLISHED COGNAC opens as a cognac facsimile--so much so that one initially wonders whether it might not be better just to dab a bit of cognac onto one's neck and wrists!

However, the perfume proceeds to develop into a floriental woody composition which is absolutely gorgeous! There is almost a tobacco vibe here, but apparently this is caused by the oak and the marigold (tagetes). The caramel really only comes through in the very opening, and I do not find it sweet at all after that.

I am very surprised that this perfume has not caught on more--or Krigler more generally--as this is a very appealing creation for men or women! Definitely worth trying by anyone who likes spirits-scented orientals. I would love to have a bottle of ESTABLISHED COGNAC--or to smell it on someone else!

Very true, that this fragrance is adored by women! I love it! :) Have you ever smelled "young", fresh cognac? The top notes are pure fresh cognac, a congnac mono scent, I would say. Cognac note is not hidden among other notes like in Frapin's 1270. With time cognac scent turns into a luxurious woody-cherry tobacco blend with a very little sweetness in it. To compare with 1270, Krigler's Established Cognac is less sweet, more masculine, but still great for men and women equally. The staying power on my skin is great!
