This was a blind buy and waste of money big time. It smells so faint that you cannot even tell you are wearing any perfume at all within 20 mins. Smell is GONE. No projection at all. It is awful truly. It is as if it has been severely watered down. I cannot return because I opened it of course. May as well have burned the money. I cannot believe this has all these good reviews. Perhaps I have a bad batch? This cannot be the same perfume that is getting glowing reviews.

I love this perfume, it's perfect for day or evening wear and oozes class and sophistication. It's feminine and strong without being overbearing. The whole line is under rated imo.

scenturian

I think it is the best from this line. Feminine chic clean floral scent. Fresh soapy rose. Very good for summer.
It is pity that discontinued.

i tested it 2 years ago when it was still widley available. But for some reason i didnt bought it back then...but i was thinking of this alluring scent over and over. This suede type magnolia and the rose, was so feminine... until it was discontinued....oh lord!
i was waiting 2 years to find it now with a 35% diacount, i bought it without second thoughts.
it is a lovely not rose scentric perfume, but with a strong Rose heart along with a large dash of Magnolias, suede, saffron just a bit, some red fruits. It is a lovely blend and the bottle a piece of art! 8/10

This fragrance smells exactly like a pure rose soap. It appeals to all ages, feminine but not attractive. It's nice, but not my cup of tea.

SailorV

Much more of a rose than a magnolia scent. This smells very "pink" to me, at first sight it seems like a typical mainstream designer rose, maybe with some peony and red fruits or berries.
There seem to be two notes lists for this floating around, one is the reduced form that fragrantica used (rose, magnolia and white musk), and the other contains some more notes like saffron and suede! Another reviewer added it below. I definitely get the saffron here, it adds a medicinal bitterness that takes the scent out of the completely girly and pretty territory. It's a little heavier and warmer than it seems.
And the magnolia? It becomes somewhat noticeable in the drydown as a hint of slightly creamy and slightly watery floral freshness, but it really isn't the main star here.
All in all this is a nice perfume, but it doesn't wow me, especially not in comparison with the older Maison Lancôme scents.

I found new wrapped bottles for under $40 USD on one of the major fragrance discount sites. I'm a fan of the Maison Lancome line, so I thought it would be worth a try and Magnolia Rosae did not disappoint. I tested it alongside Delina and Delina Exclusif and it is something in between the two to my nose. For me, I like DEx for the first few minutes, then it turns to my nose. Delina is nice, but disappears. This is like Delina, but ever so slightly gourmand in the background (like an ambery nectar) and also doesn't disappear though it seems like it should have, which seems true for the Maison line in general.

This is great, but not unique enough for me to have spent the full price. The discounted price though is an absolute steal and is better than Delina to my nose. This is more feminine scent that would be great for a special occasion spring lunch. No regrets here.

Update: I had some moments where this wasn't interesting enough for me, but have since come to revisit it, a full year later, and the ambrosia like quality really sings even more, while the flowers are toned down a bit. Definitely won't be releasing this one.

Very beautiful fragrance. Wonderfully floral! I get saffron, rose, magnolia and musk. There is suede in the dry down, but if you like Jo Malone Peony & blush suede, you should be fine with the one here! It's creamy and slightly sweet as well. Really well done!
update: I received a lengthy compliment today in late August. She even went on to ask the name so she could get it for herself.

Lcprickett

Very pretty floral musk. Do I enjoy it? Yes. Is it repurchase worthy? Probably not. I think there are other fragrances that can give you this for a fraction of the price.

Mez0Nez

I feel saffron and raspberry nuance in here.

Magnolia Rosae sat untouched (for a few months) in my collection which, now that I finally got around to trying it, seems most unfair to this gorgeous fragrance. This is beautifully blended, so my nose was really put to the test trying to pick out the notes especially since I got more than the three notes listed here. I get black currant and saffron almost immediately, followed by a lemony magnolia along with a sweet sparkling rose and a very subtle soft suede note, all of which are enveloped in a cloud of airy musk. The combination of notes in this fragrance reminds me of one of my favorite fragrances, Saffron lazuli which is darker, denser and heavier. Magnolia Rosae is an airier, more day time appropriate iteration to my nose that is enchantingly feminine. I didn't expect to love this one because somehow I had gotten into my head that this was a dud from an otherwise impressive line but I am not surprised I love it now that I've smelled it because it belongs to a fragrance family that I gravitate towards greatly. Another stellar offering from Lancome's more exclusive line of fragrances that I would recommend,

Love at first sniff! Reminded me immediately of Stella EDP by Stella McCartney. Absolutely beautiful rose fragrance. I mostly get rose but the Magnolia and white musk is there as well. It's just stunning. I would consider this to be a year around floral fragrance, very versatile. So glad I added this to my collection. Highly overlooked fragrance and shouldn't be. Don't sleep on this one!

Love at first sniff at the Lancôme stand. At the end of it all, I get a waxy creamy magnolia, sweet edible sticky rose and a musk that’s shiny bordering molecule-y.

Next store I visited after spraying this, instant compliment. Overlooked fragrance from the Maison line.

ellabella11

opens with fresh citrus note mixed with creamy white magnolia. as it dries down it becomes almost animalic, a little dirty — the citrus stays but turns sharper, and the cream of the magnolia transforms into a sultry musk. paradoxically, as it dries down it also gets sweeter, with the rose deepening and overwhelming the magnolia. a powdery scent develops, which offsets the musk nicely, though a sort of sweaty sharpness remains. it's not unpleasant, exactly, but not completely pleasant either. the kind of smell you keep coming back to, waiting for it to reveal itself. not what you'd expect. but that opening! so lovely — spring in a bottle, which then transforms into a humid, hallucinatory summer.

Stephlo2010

This is better as it dries down and there is something quite animalic in this. The musk in here is a little overwhelming, and the notes don’t list it, but I get either some saffron or Oud. Something woody, but I’m not into this. It’s quite nauseating and not FBW.

I find Magnolia Rosae and Iris Dragees to be the most versatile ,all year round, signature scent worthy scents from the Maison Lancome collection. This is a soft rose fragrance rounded with a creamy magnolia . The suede makes it slightly stand apart but its a soft background note in the composition. I can picture a bride wearing this but it is also versatile for an office meeting or a brunch with friends. This is a soft fragrance with 4-5 hrs longevity.

gtabasso

a musky deep rose musk fragrance that reminds me of the two oud rose scents by Lancome without the oud. Same DNA and rich depth. I love rose and love this. It is less magnolia-scentric and has a jasmine feel to it because of the musk as the rose settles

Is it anosmia, my nasal receptors having the wrong genetic profile.. who knows, BUT THIS IS HORRIBLE. Seriously, there is a reason this one is not mentioned in recommendation lists for this house. It's truly bizarre n quite distressing. Who's got the weird Timbuktu from L'Artisan Parfumeur? Would you like a dupe for it? Well here you go. I don't care what the notes say, there's something screwy, this is just a wrong'un. Magnolia, rose, WHITE MUSKS?? Really, where? Maybe Timbuktu spilt inside some new shoes. It's that kind of smell. This is not light, fluffy, pretty, sweet or anything else you imagine from the packaging or the purported notes. This is not a blind buy. This has the honour of being my personal worst blind buy ever. It actually stopped me blind buying for a while n sampling instead so there's that I guess. This isn't a buy full stop. What in god's name happened here? Does anyone want this? Hit me up, rather you than me. I would take a lake of Britney n Avon offerings in place of this insane concoction. The bottle is pretty, lol.
Addendum: I've tried a couple more times, but this is just STRANGE MASSIVE LEATHER but not even realistic just a kind of amateur guess. Nothing else here. I don't get rose or magnolia or even white musk. Maybe a hint of musk but rough, fiercely chemical. Utterly bizarre. It's all my son can smell as well. It has confused him greatly because "perfume is supposed to be nice isn't it."
I really hope the lady who bought this off me on Ebay is enjoying it.

Dawnfiller

On my skin this perfume immediately smells like a powdery rose mixed with sweetness, a hint of caramel maybe. In 109 degree heat this stays strong and sweet for 6-8 hours. I never smelled any musk or other notes. I’m curious to see if it smells different in winter months.

This is a great evening fragrance but I wouldn’t wear it in close quarters at work. It projects strongly in high heat and leaves a beautiful scent trail. This was a good blind buy for me.

tandem_4x4

Don't know why but I am feeling leather note in this perfume, rather suede.

myname

It’s beautiful to me. Reminds me of strawberries and champagne by Victoria’s Secret and Sweet pea by bath and body works. It’s a clean magnolia rose. All of the fragrances in this line don’t have to be powerhouses now. I think we should just love this for what it is. It’s a lighthearted scent that also works for summer. It also smells like detergent on the initial spray.

Kots_Tanya

I had to change my review thanks to the review bellow who listed the notes, Thank you!
I previously mention that there is a note that bothers me and now I know its Suede. Suede/Letaher note here is very dominant, so if you dont like it like me I would avoid this fragrance. Overall there is musk Magnolia and a little of Rose. Its beautiful for what it is, longevity is moderate I would say about 4-6 hours.

Fragrantica team please add the rest of the notes listed on Lancomes website.

Beautiful warm nice sweet
I enjoy the magnolia in it snd I wish it was stronger.
stays for about 7 hours on my skin and projects well.Do not blind-buy as it has a sweetness that some people deslike.

AngeliqueAmour

This is very lovely composition. I don't get much of magnolia here, but the rose note is very prominent. It has the sweetness of parfait de roses, except much calmed and fresh. It's quite feminine on me, and the musk isn't overbearing or heavy. I think this beautifully blended and the bottles of this collection are out of this world. I wore this on a cool rainy summer afternoon and it was just ideal. It wasn't heavy, nor was it light, it was just giving me that fresh afternoon rose whiff. I blind bought it and not disappointed.

Carpe Noctem

I bought a decant off Ebay before ever smelling it, and it smelled so bad that I thought I got a fake.

Next day I go to Nordstrom for an official sample and was stunned. It really does smell this bad.

It smells like a very watered down chemical mixture. I cannot believe they feel this is a 'finished' perfume in any way! I rarely have smelled such a chemical mess or clicked the 'dislike' button on Fragrantica but for this one I did. I get barely a rose, no magnolia and a very slight laundry type musk but this is flat and unpleasant.

Balsoma

I LOOOOOOOOVE this perfume. Definitely getting the rosy and musky smell. I get a lot of compliments on it!

quency1

I catch a huge blast of saffron from this perfume which is not brought in the notes. It’s a rosy saffron fragrance. Nice
