Good Morning, Ms Golightly AKA @breakfastattiffanys sorry, couldn't resist : love that film 😎💋💕
I think I may have just bought the same Concentrate version as you - is it roughly the same style as a older but regular O de...with the larger integrated plastic top and spray but dark red in colour ? If so, I THINK it may be a stronger version of the original.
So...when I saw it, I grabbed it !!
Will know more it comes and report back...
2021 Update. Well, a LOT has happened since my last post ( hopefully everyone's well and we all have our sense of smell intact....? )
Yes, the Concentrate IS a stronger version of the original ( the older original, that is , can't speak to the current version ).
I have several bottles now - weirdly the caps vary from dark red to oxblood to almost brown but are the same frag. Mainly it distinguishes its self by it's greater longevity and extra oakmoss. Fabulous !
As for THIS:
Ô Intense is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT fragrance and clearly, a product of the 80's. While there are hints of the the original Chypre, it is definitely more a floral/oriental. The peach, apricot, ylang etc that became very familiar later with the introduction of Tresor, are there in this year's earlier, but thankfully not too sweet version of Ô and then are grounded with orris and oakmoss ( not a Tresor fan I'm afraid ! ) However, it's still NOT an in-you-face, shoulder-pad-wearing 80's frag though.
It's odd that they presented it as a flanker to Ô, it must have confused a lot of buyers and maybe that's why it wasn't around that long ( certainly I don't remember it ? ). Mine is from 1986 so that doesn't help date when it was discontinued.
Lancôme did have form for this ( flankers that aren't ) Magie had spawned Magie Noire a decade earlier despite having little in common with it . Plus, there was an oft forgotten earlier Tresor, too - again nothing like it's later incarnation being the sort of powdery floral that might have been produced by Dior in the 50's or 60's ( based on my little parfum, part of a lovely gift set that I think is from the 60's )
So, I guess it could have been a way to market the "new" wave of powerhouses to the existing 70's chypre-loving clientele ( ie me ! ) without frightening the horses ?
Maybe it's best seen as a stepping stone between the two eras and a precursor to Tresor... that itself heralded the NEXT decade !

Does anybody know what does de Lancome Double concentration spray mean?
I assume this is a version of O de Lancome Intense. There are marks "Paris Londres" on the top and PV3L on the buttom. The flacon is as one on the webpage but with "shoulders".

I am very nostalgic for this perfume and have been searching for a similar scent for many years since it was discontinued. It is a very singular, warm and spicy perfume that could be worn for day or night. Beautiful.
Lancome - please bring it back!
Le Grand Duc
I've just found a bottle of this perfume at a flea market, and it is fantastic.
My juice jumps almost straight to the middle and base, which, opposite the classic Ô, is more oriental in feel with the Intense.
I'm surpriced, that no woody notes are listed, 'cause on me, this one starts out as a somewhat loud woody frag, before quickly settling down to a very plesant floriental.
As Henriette said before me; Ô Intense is not an intense version of the classic perfume - it's another fragrance altogether.
But the faint ghost of the über-green mother parfum Ô is present throughout.

This stuff is really nice..reminds me somewhat of Infini by Caron and smells nothing like the original O de Lancome which was lemony
Rlamaja
ANybody know of a current scent that resembles this one?
Talia
My mom had it, it was extremely nice and had a character, would be modern and today. They should cept this one for sale. I remember that one drop on the clothes lived 24 hours.
Henriette
As far as I remember this was NOT a stronger version of the fresh, citrusy O de Lancome. It was a scent of its own with its distinctive aroma.
I don't recall its being a memorable one but I certainly do remember its being totally different from the original O de Lancome still on sale today.
