Aeternitas

Very Chloe, indeed.

Safe, clean, bubble-bathy. Minimalist. Summery good-girl vibes.
My skin is bringing out mandarin, peony, and vetiver only....
It doesn't smell anywhere near as complex as the notes listed.

I just find it funny that my official Tory Burch sample card says it's "feminine and tomboy". Tomboy where? Lol.
The type of chick that wears this has ballerina flats in every color and a Kendra Scott jewelry collection.
"Tomboy" get outta here

PurlyGirl

This is just a lovely summer floral. It starts with quite a bit of citrus, and dries down being a very wearable woody floral. It's balanced and just a pleasant scent.

I quite like Tory Burch, it's a strong scent for the type of perfume that it is. I think it smells more like Chloe than Clinique Happy - Clinique Happy is more of a sour citrus, and this perfume has a ton of peony in it, like the clean, musky rose in Chloe. Bright and easy-going.

babypong

I love florals, powder, woody sweet feminine scents but this was not it for me. Smells incredibly boring, almost like a candle? I got a sample, put it on and rubbed it off with soap and an alcohol pad 30 min later to put on chanel no 5 for the day. Despite generally smelling good, I just did not want to be wearing this scent. The initial impression I got was that it was a people pleaser type of designer floral, plain uninteresting but non offensive. But for whatever reason I really did not want to smell it after 30 min, like it was making me upset to smell it on myself. I had hoped for better because I generally like these notes, but this was really not a perfume for me

Goldena35

This is very light and pretty. IMO a little boring but a nice clean floral forward scent. Bright and happy. I do think it smells of many perfumes I have smelled over the years.

Just read a review below and yes definitely getting a Chloe EDP vibe here.

FlowerSeeker

Beautiful peony note. I enjoyed hours 3+. The first two hours all I could smell was bug spray. I think I’m sensitive to the citronellol oils used in some citrus perfumes. Aside from that, it was a pleasant fragrance.

MANDARIN & WHIPPED PEONY Shampoo. Opens with a fruity-citrus burst of mandarin-grapefruit with clean, powdery, peppery, fresh & aromatic nuances, that deepens into a floral heart of peony-jasmine with rosy, velvety, creamy, powdery, honeyed, fresh & near-violet touches, all resting on a floral support base of woody white-musk rounded by multi-faceted vetiver. Overall I get an orange-citrus veil over powdery, woody, whipped tea-rose-honey with a shampoo & tea drydown. Has reminders of rose scents like Chloe EDP Chloe although rose isn't in the notes (it's in the main accord breakdown). Average or slightly above average performance for a year-round but light wearing experience.

Contrast to Chloe EDP Chloe:
My first impression smelling this was that it smells like Chloe EDP, but these are different, but there are similarities with a velvety pink floral heart over tea & shampoo drydown. TB is more citrus-orange forward. Chloe EDP has better performance.

Overall: Has a classic, versatile, easy to like, easy to wear scent, with average performance. I've smelt this before, but it's nicely done here, although on the pricier side for what it is. Nevertheless, it's a love for me. Enjoy!

YourFragranceFriend

Opens with a sharp floral and citrus. The floral smells like it is peony. Citrus smells like orange and grapefruit. It’s a little peppery smelling. I get a backing of something green and dewy. This scent isn’t off-putting but I’m also not loving it. When I smell my skin after a few hours, I can’t smell it at all.

I’m reminded of Versace Bright Crystal from the beginning. Bright Crystal is more juicy sweet though whereas this remains fuzzy peppery floral.

Clinique Happy sort of smells like this except Clinique Happy is a scrubber for me. It should say a lot that I gag at the first sniff of Clinique Happy but not of Tory Burch. Happy has a nasty opening that smells like paint thinner or something and then goes very hairspray. It’s even more floral to my nose.

It’s been a while since I had Chloe in my collection but Chloe was also a sharp fuzzy floral. Chloe leans almost bug spray smelling rose on me and is more soapy smelling. It's a cold scent whereas this is more warm.

With all these comparisons, it’s clear this is not a very original scent. I enjoyed this when I was first getting into fragrance. Now that I’ve smelled more and developed my preferences, it’s nothing special.

Your rich friend’s mom’s purse. It never smells like a hot stick of gum like YOUR mom’s does. Why not? Your friend’s mom is just that meticulously put together. Clean and just friendly enough. A fingerprint-free vase of flowers on the kitchen island.

ambervxyjul

A friend pulled this out last night and I surprisingly really enjoyed this scent even though I don’t like citrus much. It’s blended very nicely, smells professional with a feminine touch. Perfect for spring time!

gpaisley

Tory Burch opens with a bright, fruity, orange and sparkling champagne burst. It's almost like a chilled tangerine flavored bubbly Prosecco. That said, it transforms significantly in the dry down to a muskier, more perfumey, skin scent that is very similar to Chloe.

curlykitty8

I love this sparking floral citrus punch of a fragrance!
It does not remind me of anything else as it is far more sophisticated and multi- dimensional than others in its genre.
Who knew I’d love something by Tory!
But I do!! Feminine, floral, fresh and fabulous!

jedikitty

I have received a sample spritzer of this perfume with my cosmetics order, and must say I am liking this one a lot. I've always enjoyed citrusy scents, which I'd classify as warm weather scents but "Tory Burch" citrus smells too "warm" to be a summer scent. Spring, maybe. Fall and winter - definitely. I think, it would be too strong, bordering on suffocating, when worn in a heat of summer, and would venture a guess it's due to the pink pepper, like in Estee Lauder "Sensuous" where the pepper makes it deliciously spicy. On me, it is a strong mandarin opening, which ultimately settles into the sandal and cedar, but it is a lovely woody finish, not masculine at all like many sandal-cedar bases seem to turn into (at least, on my skin). The flowers soften the composition, and play nice together. I'm not into strong jasmine but this one is on a mild side. The scent lasts a couple of hours, and has very minimal projection (one spray
per wrist) so it could potentially be quite safe for the office, Overall, this is a real surprise how much I like, almost love, this scent. Not ready for the full size yet, but I just acquired two more of the little spritzers of eBay.

Jordan 99

I got this perfume because reminds me of Burberry Brit Sheer which I love, I thought I’ll love this one even better because it seems to be more elegant and grown up. Opening is very similar to BBS, but that citrusy freshness slowly fade a way and dry in to flowery gentle scent. It’s good perfume but I love BBS more it stays fresher citrusy longer, Tory turns in to generic flowery scent. Don’t like cassis on my skin, my chemistry turns it in to cat pee.

irlfireprincess

A cute, happy, mildly sweet, fresh citrus fragrance… that lasted barely an hour on my skin after 3-4 sprays. Too bad, would have been just the casual chic fragrance I was searching for if it lasted at all.

XOXO_marcel

A perfume that truly smells the way you would expect based on the bottle. Pure orange marmalade, not very sweet. I can understand the reviews saying it smells basic and soapy, but this also smells expensive. I wouldn't purchase it for myself, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to catching a whiff of this on someone else. It's comforting and slightly warm.
Most citrus scents I've tried are fresh, while this leans more jammy. It reminds me of my dad grating oranges to go into his Thanksgiving cranberry sauce.

DebWT

Having some of the popular higher end perfumes, this one is a definite star, The smell is a perfect citrus/floral combo. Not too weak or strong and some sexy to it. I think it smells so much better than Clinique Happy which I am not a fan of. I actually think it doesn't smell that much like Happy. This one is much much prettier.

realitygreene

The citrus and florals are fighting against each other instead of working in harmony. I was hoping to find a nice alyssum fragrance since my name comes from the alyssum flower, but I don't think this one is a winner for me. It's just too perfume-y and doesn't smell all that pleasant to me. I love Tory Burch Jolie Fleur Lavande and was hoping or another love from the brand.

CamelliaLycoris

Normally I'm not really a fan of citrus fragrances. It's very rare that I find one that suits me but this one is very pleasant.

Others mention Clinique Happy but that one I find is terrible on me. On my skin at least I disagree that is smells "cheap" or like something you'd find at Bath and Body Works, though it doesn't pull super high end either. Just slightly sophisticated, clean, pleasant.

Another comparison is Chloe EDP which I do love, so maybe that's why I enjoy this one though Chloe lacks the sweet citrus notes that this has.

I think it is fairly simple in that it's a citrusy floral soapy fragrance but it sits nicely on my skin and leans a bit more sophisticated than many other soapy fragrances that end up just being nauseating or headache inducing. Since citrus is not something I usually go for I can't really comment on how common this one is but I do think it's nice and inoffensive.

It opens with the brightness of grapefruit and settles fairly quickly into sweet mandarin oranges that remind me of warm summer mornings. The pink pepper adds a slight sharpness to it but not offensively so. After a bit it simmers down into a wonderful slightly musky sweet floral peony and soft jasmine. The tuberose is pleasant here and not loud like it sometimes can be. It doesn't last terribly long, only a few hours on me, but I do consider it worth the price.

cadentsun

Preppy! It's about as basic as anything else you can get in a gift set from Macy's, but I can't hate it because I can't reasonably convince myself that citrus and neroli are drab, or that peony isn't pretty.

The grapefruit-neroli open is punchy for a minute or two, then makes way for a clean and somewhat handsoap-y mandarin-peony with a smidge of vetiver at the base. There's a bit of pink pepper in the top-middle notes, but it's not too spicy or overpowering enough to steer this away from being a definite citrus-floral. The white florals (jasmine and tuberose in particular) aren't as noticeable or screechy, which I prefer.

Overall neither too sweet nor sour nor spicy, the flowers play nice, and with very little presence of musk or wood. A safe purchase, but not as discreet or inoffensive as other fruity-florals in its price range (Chloé EDP and Chanel Eau Tendre come to mind as being more foolproof)

AllisonNW

Meh. It’s nice, I guess. The pink pepper top note comes on hard but fades fast leaving a pleasant, safe spring/summer scent. I see the parallels to Happy, but it’s like a quiet, shy cousin, not a dupe.

Spencemonster

Oh cool. Clinique Happy in a new bottle named Tory Burch. #NotOriginalAtAll

Vicky456

This smells like a generic citrus, floral soap. I don’t get anything other than that. If you like smelling like soap, this is a great fragrance for you.

Lavandermilk

I don't hate this but to me it literally smells like a lacking version of Clinique Happy. I am a happy fan through and through and this just smells a little more generic? Like it kind of reminds me a scent like Daisy or chloe but with an opening closer to happy.

Lacks personality, smells very basic for how expensive it is.

annasarahr121

Tory Burch reminds me of Chloe EDP which is not one of my favorites, though I know it has quite a following. I find both perfumes to have too much clean musks, which comes off cleanser-like to my nose. It's not bad; it just isn't that good. I thought hola gigi put it well, "soapy citrus, without personality." But if you're a Chloe EDP fan, you may very well enjoy it.

LSAUG

Another citrus peony scent, like there aren't a million of those in the market. It's not bad but I've smelled this so many times that I am bored. Really you are going to charge $123 a bottle for a basic citrus floral. And this one isn't that good, there are so many others in the marketplace for like half the cost. Not worth the asking price. Again, another overdone scent profile.

Luluteeter

A*slightly* more sophisticated Clinique Happy.

kikipoo

I seem to be one of the few people who actually adores this fragrance. It works really well with my body chemistry and is a projection beast. I like to wear it during to the Fall and Winter months because it can be pretty strong. Definitely worth a test rather than a blind buy.

Cataddicted

I really enjoy this scent. It is a nice, quite strong citrusy scent, but not too overpowering like some citrusy scents tend to be. I like citrus, (there’s a point where a scent is too citrus intense I just can’t enjoy the scent anymore… but luckily, this was not one of those scents.) I’m not entirely sure what mix it is I really like about this scent, (I think it’s the mandarin orange and I think the pink pepper and woody notes?) I have done a past review where I was keen, but not as keen as I am now, I am not at all surprised knowing it has grown on me a lot since my first review! I would definitely recommend you keep an eye out for this if you are keen on citrusy perfumes! The bottle is beautifully classy. I just love it. A lovely day scent ❤️

mrsoutlaw

This fragrance is pleasant enough. As many others have said, it is a citrusy floral fragrance. As it dries down, I feel like the floral aspect dies down and it becomes a fresh, light, breezy citrus scent with a touch of musk. I do think that it is very nice but I don't feel like it is anything to write home about. It's bright, fresh, and fun. But not a knock-out. I don't believe that this is a fragrance that will stop anyone in their tracks to ask you what you are wearing. Tory Burch is a fragrance that will leave you smelling good, but not memorable. I would give this fragrance a solid B on a grading scale.

nickinicole

I really wish it didn't have tuberose because on me,that note has a strange, synthetic sweetness that just doesn't work. I'd definitely like this more then.

This fragrance definitely does not remind me of Clinique's Happy as shown above (I've loved it since its release). The pink pepper warms the citrus notes so it loses the bright, mood boosting quality of Happy. I do smell the similarities between this scent and Chloe. If you're a fan of fresh florals, I think you'd enjoy this one.

leahjay1990

This is a beautiful and light citrus/floral scent. It reminds me of a beautiful, sunny day. It's bright and cheerful, but also sophiscated.

spaghettibuns

citrus fruity flowery opening. the dry down is odd. for some reason I get some real Tommy Girl vibes. barely barely barely does it KIIIIIIIINDA smell like Tommy Girl to me (the two actually have some of the same ingredients), but then theres something under that turns it in a different direction. I think its the vetiver and sandalwood. This was trying to be a bright juicy flowery citrusy spring summer sunny day perfume, but then you have the cedar pepper vetiver and sandalwood YANKING the steering wheel in a different direction. I feel like the bright juicy flowery citrusy scents FIGHT the base notes. They are NOT friends. They do NOT work together. They do NOT coalesce. This doesnt stink...but its not great and i dont like it. If someone around me was covered in it, i wouldnt be offended, but i also wouldnt be wow'd by it and asking them what they have on.
Now the flowery citrusy good (Tommy Girl vibes) in the perfume is totally gone. All im getting is the base notes and pepper. Mainly the cedar. Just not the great and WAY WAY WAY overpriced because it kinda smells cheap.
Its like they took Tommy Girl, ruined it, then put the highest price tag possible on it. This is bad yall

coffeefifofum

Rarely does the card for the sample hit it dead on, but they knew what they wanted to make and made exactly that. "Feminine and tomboy. A bright mix of citrus and florals, anchored by earthy vetiver." In a skin test the scent vibe calls to mind the college students who teach tennis lessons at the park in the summer. Very wearable everyday scent. Sits close to the skin. Top notes fade quickly, but I got 12+ hours of a wrist sniffable pleasant vetiver.

SylviaG8

Everyday perfume, very summer vibes.

jessr777

So for the first hour or so this is just a generic, safe, office-y citrus floral. But once it settles, the woody-ness comes forward and it reminds me of a Chloe fragrance.

takema

It starts with a really nice juicy orange opening then goes downhilll from there. In the mid there is a similarity to a much lighter Chloe EDP, which is a fragrance I don't care for. There is a bit of woodiness that comes out eventually, but it is a tad harsh. There is something about it that feels just a little dated and boring.

The performance is a bit lacking on me. It disappeared after 3-4 hours and never really had much sillage.

hola gigi

It's a soapy citrus without personality. Has the strength of a hand soap or body wash as far as projection goes.

Balletflowers

This to me smells like a mixture of Clinique Happy & Chloe, but more so Chloe. I absolutely love it! I currently have a sample of this & I’m obsessed. Definitely waiting for a sale to pick this up!

kuramarose

This is a very basic fresh scent, and doesn't last super long. It's very inoffensive but honestly nothing special. I still think it smells nice, but this was my signature scent when i was 17-19 and now it unfortunately just reminds me of crying and throwing up over college level calculus. Won't be repurchasing, but I'd say it's a safe blind buy if you're just looking for something simple, youthful, and put together for the office or church.

librabeing

I got this as a free sample, and I was pleasantly surprised. I then bought the rollerball, but have rarely used it. I just rolled it on to be reminded, and it's more citrus-y than I remember. I find it quite pleasant. It gives me "I'm put together" energy, without being too, too over the top. I don't think I'll buy more once it runs out, but it's a good standby.

maddsienicole

Smells absolutely indiscernible. I get the similarities to Clinique Happy, but even Happy lasts longer. Generic, like the worst of Bath and Body Works. Don't pay full price. You'd have better luck with a drugstore Happy dupe.

SummersReign8221

Tory Burch Perfume:

This is the third time wearing this. Like this fragrance a lot. Reminiscent of many fragrances produced in the late 90's - 2000's, for example: Clinique Happy, Clinique Happy Heart, Estee Lauder Pleasures, hints of Avon Sunrise Aromatherapy Mist, an hints of Bath and Body Works Butterfly Flower.

The initial opening of Tory Burch Perfume has a strong blast of citrus (mandarin, lemon) then within minutes the citrus notes pull back and the florals and what I detect to be driftwood maybe, shine and throughout wearing this all the notes play back and forth with each other. It is kind of interesting. The fragrance does not seem to offend anyone around me. Price for the amount you get in the bottle is decent.

Tory Burch is light, bright, airy, sweet, creamy, and perfect for daytime and nighttime wear. Better suited I think for warmer weather; it is in the upper 80's where I live today and this is wearing wonderfully.

8/10

nikkilynn93

This is a very nice crisp fresh citrus scent. I can definitely smell the orange notes. I haven't smelled Clinique happy in about 10 years but from what I remember it smells a bit like that.

RoseforEmily

I know this sounds weird, but this perfume reminds me of my pre-k through kindergarten classrooms (at least from the magazine insert). It has the strong fruitiness of apple juice and other sugared box juices, the earthiness of crayons, and slight heavier accords of 80s-90s perfumes like Poison that the teachers wore. It's a very nostalgic mixture and not even unpleasant but not something I would actually wear because of those scent associations.

Update: For a sweet but full-bodied perfume I prefer D&G Pour Femme. Maybe it's the citrus of this one that I find too much like Capri Sun.

bryn.blizzard

Plain and inoffensive. Smells kind of like those free mini shampoo and conditioner bottles you get at hotels. Generic soapy citrus with a bit of floral. Don’t pay full price.

Chaauvux

Strong citrus scent at the opening, a sheer of floral note coming after. It gives that good vibe, happy chill in the summertime. Nothing is special in this blend. I have the sample and am glad that I dont spend money on a full size. Mediocre and fading fast. More of a body mist than a perfume.

NDStars

First blast of white florals and mandarin oranges. Very fresh light sweet, the orange note keeps the whole scent rather young but fleeting. Opened big and bright but the nice sweet citrus is fading on my skin; I'm struggling to find anything left and it hasn't even been 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the white florals seem to be gaining in strength. I'll keep my nose on it but for now it's ... shrug.. yet another citrus white floral. Nothing groundbreaking, merely a pretty scent for the moment it lasts. Feminine and best for hot weather.

6+ hours later: It's so gone it's a Gillian Flynn novel.

juliaten

Nothing special, no citrus at all. I just smell strong sweet honey like smell. Very basic.

Elsee

I just don't get the Happy vibes from this -- and I wish I would! It's linear and cheery -- but not that appealing. What I don't get is the rubber balloon smell that I get from Happy. LOL I actually LOVE Happy but can't wear it. As you can probably imagine -- it's just not good to smell like a balloon or latex glove. ;)

I need to try the others from TB.

ProfoundAroma

I like citrusy scents but this one is a big NO
All those notes clash soo bad together what a mess. The tuberose etc... gave me bathroom spray vibes 🤢

Phemia

I don't have much to say about this fragrance. It starts off with a citrusy grapefruit punch that smells like it has a hint of crisp apple. Comes off a little bit soapy. The pepper adds a subtle spiciness. Among the florals, the mimosa and peony stand out and the white florals are actually pretty faint to my nose. Among the wood notes, neither one really stands out more than the other so they're balanced pretty well. For some reason I pick up on a synthetic kind of chemical smell and I'm not sure where it's coming from. In its dry down, the pepper comes out more and I can detect the freesia note a lot.

Overall its a fresh and cheerful scent that gives me Clinique Happy vibes. I don't really see the similarities to Chloe that much, I think Chloe is much more rosey and powdery than this is. It doesn't last a very long time and the sillage is alright I guess. It's just an unremarkable fragrance overall.

nruthh

This perfume opens with a strong burst of grapefruit, then fades quickly to a really sweet powder. There's a sort of tangerine/tang/Sunny D vibe playing with the powder for about 2 hours, and then it fades to nothing.

I don't hate this perfume merely because it seems too boring to hate. It's kind of like Clinique Happy, but I absolutely hate Clinique Happy and don't hate this. It's just sort of --- there --- sporty, boring, the type of person who you'd think is nice to your face but she'd never help you with anything whatsoever, you know? No personality, no morals, no values, just nice enough to be around for short periods of time but no substance.

It's a strong pass for me.

bluepistachio

I think I prefer Chloe. This is citric and rosy. Fresh, bitter, crisp, sporty yet romantic. Lives up to the concept. Not very long lasting (can smell for 1 or 2 hours) and radiates light to moderate.

madsbadger

really synthetic smelling, kind of like walking into a Macy's and getting blasted in the face with their perfume section mixed with overly sweet tangerine. This gave me a migraine within seconds of putting it on, I had to try to wash it off and take Tylenol. It reminds me of Mix:Bar's tangerine squeeze, but far sweeter and slightly fake. I'm so glad I only got this as a sample size from Sephora.

nelliebabes

Bright, light and dries down to a clean lemony smell.. This is pretty basic, and doesn't last long. This would be a good gym/ /workout class fragrance.

maggie775

To me, this fragrance is a classic department store fragrance... in a good way. It also smells a little like hairspray to me... also in a good way. This is definitely not unique, and for that reason, it has quickly become my handbag scent, as I have run out of room in my collection and this one is great for anything. Definitely a scent you could wear to work, even an interview. I am also not a fan of the bottle.

fragrances-fanatic

Sampled this recently...was sucked straight into a time warp to 1999-2000 when I wore Clinique Happy all the time. For a while there I think I OD'd on it. I hadn't thought seriously about Clinique Happy in YEARS, all I know is that whenever I spot it at TJ Maxx I have an involuntary revulsion and my brain goes "ugh, I wouldn't even bring that home if it were free." So I have had zero desire to smell Happy again despite many opportunities. Point being, when I smelled Tory Burch there was absolutely no mistaking that it smells like Clinique Happy. I mean, I'm sure it's not an exact dupe, but it's very similar.

Why in the world someone would bother making a perfume that's so similar to Happy, is beyond me. Clinique already locked that one down way back in the 90's.

iamtheonlyone

Ugh so good. I imagine soft kisses and cool air. Super romantic.

Frangipanilove

This is a very crisp, a little bit spicy citrus white flower scent. For me, the pink pepper is coming through quite strongly, rendering the sharp spiciness on the top. Pleasant, quite elegant summer scent. Not sure it quite reaches to the same category as Dior's Escale a Portofino or the effortlessness of the summer Aerins but very wearable, if a tiny bit too synthetic smelling. A touch more real citrus would have made a difference.

carlahoffman

I Love this perfume! It smells so good on me with its bright citrusy opening mostly the orange and grapefruit for me. But I can smell the floral notes along with the rose accented all together instead of in stages. A lovely tasteful citrus floral scent that is so pretty that gets me so many compliments.

It's not dull or boring to me it's fun and lively, bold in it's lovely scent that is very feminine with a good projection that last all day long. It's working real good in this cooler weather wearing it both day or night. Has a nice light musk, with a light spice dry down. I just can't get enough of this scent constantly smelling my wrist!!

AnosmicConvert

Synthetic oranges. Cleaner and unsweetened Tang drink mix.

rosey_nosey

Not unlike Curve, Tommy girl, Happy and all the others in the citrus, fresh, floral family. This is as safe as they come. This can make a great office scent as there is nothing overpowering about it. Sad to say it smells dated to me and I am not into that. I rocked Curve for longer than I care to admit so I will not be buying a full bottle of this.

Adelamgarceo

On me it started off with a really distinct grapefruit scent, then it was almost all floral, powdery and light. If you like more discreet, citrusy fragrances then this one’s for you. There’s a sort of freshness that I love about it. It also smells like a very youthful scent, if that makes sense.

Anamandy

I am finally getting around to trying this perfume which I received as a gift this past Christmas. This was never on my radar or something I would have purchased for myself, mainly because I'm not a fan of perfumes with grapefruit top notes. More times than not, grapefruit winds up smelling like rotten fruit on me. Fortunately, that is not the case here.

While there is grapefruit, it is a fleeting sharpness that quickly settles as the mandarin and pepper take over and become the most prominent notes to my nose. The citric and spice play very well with the floral notes and it stays a crisp citrusy floral throughout the life of the perfume. There is one point, midway in the scent, that is a little synthetic to me. After about 30 minutes that goes away and the base notes of sandalwood, musk, and vetiver come into play. I did find that weird transition a little off-putting, but hopefully it was a one-off and won't be replicated in the future. This seems like it would work better in the warmer weather anyway, so maybe that will be the case.

Overall, while it is still something I wouldn't have chosen for myself, I do think it is pretty, if somewhat generic. It could be a good pick when you want to wear something that's safe, non-offensive, and fresh, though to be honest, there are similar fragrances out there that have more of a wow factor than this. The One edt comes to mind. I will wear it around the giver, on the infrequent occasions we meet, so that they know I appreciate their thoughtfulness. Other than that, most of the time it will likely be relegated to my perfume cabinet. Nice, but no cigar!

Lhvoyles94

I must smell things different than the people in the reviews, because almost no one mentions the spice in this and that's honestly almost all I can smell. It is super spicy, and therefore super stinky to me. I had to wash it off immediately.

VancouverSnifter

A more expensive, less good version of Clinique Happy.

denisa_iv

At first it smells a lot like grapefruit, a citrusy and zesty grapefruit that is also a bit bitter, which is very realistic and I quite like it. It quickly turns into a very light and generic floral fragrance that doesn't stand out in any way. It's not bad, and it would probably make a good first fragrance, something for young people or for those who don't like strong perfumes.
I read on the card that is supposed to be feminine with a masculine touch. Not true, it's feminine and light, there's nothing complex or unisex about this one. It's how a celebrity scent would smell, but since the price point on Tory Burch is far from it, it's not worth it for me personally.

ClassicsLover

I like this. My daughter won it as a door prize for a small boutique opening in her town last year and didn't care for it. She gave it to me last week during a visit. Starts out with a refreshing citrus that quickly turns into a light, airy floral fragrance. As others have noted, it does turn into a skin scent pretty rapidly, say within an hour or two depending on how heavily you spray, but is very pretty while it lasts though not particularly distinctive. Overall a good dumb reach for the warmer seasons of the year or if living in a warm climate. Personally, if I didn't receive it for free I would not have purchased it simply because I don't consider it a good value. Other than that, as is it is fine, and this bottle will probably be finish while snowbirding this upcoming winter

nadiiine

I keep this purely for happy memories and the feel-good vibes I get when I smell this. This is hands down my signature scent - it's the one I pick up whenever I cant choose what scent to use before heading out the door, even when its colder out. I've repurchased the 100 ml twice, and the roller balls maybe 5 times now. It's amazing, and I'm assuming not that many people like it because it doesn't seem unique.

But to me, this will forever have a special place in my heart because it always reminds me of when my boyfriend and I first started dating, it's also my go-to for chill date nights because he loves it too. Not going to lie but at one point it was the first and only perfume I had when I first started getting into fragrances.

It's simple, sophisticated and fresh.. makes me so happy. Although the one thing I don't really like is the fact that it doesn't last so long. It stays on for around 3-ish hours on my skin - but that's why I have the roller ball version in my bag as well so I don't mind it :)

rumari47

I blind bought this because the notes looked like something I’d like. Then I came to Fragrantica and almost cancelled my order because I saw this voted as similar to Happy. I own Happy and while I love it, I didn’t want anything that smells similar to it. Happy is special to me because it was the first perfume my husband ever bought me. Tory Burch has been untouched for several years. I finally used it a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. On first spray it is very citrusy and sharp (though not as sharp citrusy as happy) but luckily the dry down becomes this soft beautiful floral. Lasting power is pretty weak. Turns into a skin scent right away. I like it but don’t love it. It’s a good work perfume or nice perfume if you’re gonna be out on a super hot summer day

Saira.Manahil

When you feel too elevated to use a body mist, but still need a refreshing burst of fragrance, perfumes like Tory Burch for Women are perfect to help fulfill those desires... Tory Burch for Women is a pleasant yet unremarkable fragrance very similar to Clinique Happy. In fact it melds well with the entire Tory Burch brand. The products this designer sells are quite basic, but upscale and preppy. This fragrance is an uplifting summer-citrus fragrance with a slightly woody backdrop. I think this is a nice and inoffensive fragrance that works great for the office or for a hot summer’s day. It’s also a nice gym scent. I do appreciate this fragrance far more than Versace Dylan Blue because this perfume satisfies a particular role; it has the bright, light, and cheery profile that is easily understood as a laid-back summer scent.

Nicki6089

I love this it's not too heavy could be a signature scent could used as a casual scent to run errands or when you don't want to wear your expensive or moderately expensive scent, I would repurchase

RottigrlNYC

Eau de garbage. This cheap thing doesn’t deserve to be called a perfume. The scent is so weak, almost as if it’s 99.99% water. I got this as gift. Threw it in the garbage where it belongs.

cocofluff

I really like this perfume. It's a lovely, bright and sweet spring bouquet of flowers. I also smell their stems and green leaves. This perfume is delicate, shy and feminine. Initially I wrote it off as "boring" and "simple" but I craved it when I wasn't wearing it and actually enjoy the scent quite a lot. It's perfect for daily wear and makes me feel lovely and complements my freshly washed skin.

I find it great for wearing to work because it smells "happy". I really need to compare it to Clinique Happy as it's under suggested fragrances.

It's quite discreet and a skinscent. Both are big pluses for me. It is pretty but nothing new.

EDIT May 2020 I wore my decant again today and it still smells good but now it's feeling too sharp and citrusy to me without the sweetness I'm looking for. So I've taken it off my "want list" and I'm still in search of my perfect work-wear fragrance. -

bintTapputi

Ah, finally a Tory Burch that I actually wouldn't mind wearing. Again, super unassuming, super generic, very light. While I agree with most of the negative reviews here, compared to the other perfumes I've tried from Tory Burch this is so far my favorite of the lot. It's nothing to write home about, but it is wearable. Clean, refreshing, and sweet. Very very simple. 5.5/10

Atomikbomb_

I'm pleased, but underwhelmed.

It's a generic freshie with a heavy amount of citrus and white floral. I like the peony, and a little bit of clean wood in the drydown.

Nothing about it is groundbreaking, but it's not a bad easy wear. It's definitely summery and won't offend anyone. It's not really expensive smelling, but not cheap either. Just very "designer". I have a small rollerball and I'm good with that amount, but I'm sure I'll use it up. It's probably going to be worn in busy situations and around kids, as I'm currently doing a lot of childcare (beyond my own kids). It doesn't project a ton, and it's understandable to people who don't think twice about fragrance.

I don't get the Happy resemblance. I dislike Happy outright, but I'm not bothered by this (it's just boring). Yeah, there's citrus in common, but it doesn't smell the same to me.

socal_belle

Lovely, and sunny, and chic, and classy. Whenever I’m sad I just take a sniff of this. Really uplifting and not offensive at all.

titan07

This perfume is alright, but I never quite remember to use it. The character is not memorable. It's also awkward because the feeling is a little too harsh for daytime use, but too fresh to use in the evening.

hdpauley55

I love this scent. Spicy citrus notes at first followed by white florals. Base notes are woody musk. Reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder's "Pleasures". Unfortunately it doesn't last long on the skin.

Kaland

This smells exactly like Chloe to me.

DebiL1211

Flowery and spicy with no sweetness. Slight soapy scent. Pretty. Great sillage and longevity. It was a sample but I have similar perfumes so I doubt I will buy a FB.

cherryblossom.o9

Really don't understand some of these reviews. I love this perfume. Its spicy and citrusy, but not overpowering or sour. I'm constantly being asked what scent I'm wearing when I've got this on. Smells expensive and sophisticated to me. Almost cozy.

churinl

If Aerin Lauder's scents are The Hamptons, Tory's perfume is the Jersey Shore (I live in Jersey, so I'm allowed to say that!). There are some very pretty parts, but overall, it's very commercial.

perfumeglam87

This instantly lifted my mood!!! This smells just like a marykay fragrance I wore over 10-15 years ago with the orange cap called Velocity .. They stopped making it and the prices went up online. Very similar to clinique. Whats not to like about a bright fragrance? :) Mood Lifter

LimbicSystem

A general, uninspired, overpriced, basic b musk. I can't describe its overpowering general generic-ness. It's a perfume worn just to let people know "I'm wearing perfume look at me!". A stewardness or Businesswoman in Khaki #2 extra of a 90s romcom would wear this.

pugnose

Very biting, the way any cheap fragrance smells. Oh I really hate this. Makes me wonder if the scents they put in these are even true. What makes this so bad? I would think the musk would at least tone it down. When I smell fragrances like this is makes me wish I could take 5 bottles of my cheap parfums and trade them in for one good one.

tropicalkuuipo

This perfume is a bit too sweet for me. It has notes of florals, citrus, sweetness. Citrus fruit like a mandarin.

moonbeams 1

syrupy mandarin oranges, verging on expiration. mixed with a generic bouquet.

Sparkleygem29

I received this as a gift and I really hate it. It's extremely generic and harsh. Strong citrus and peony, mixed with industrial cleaner. It makes my throat hurt.

Fragrantnatic

On me the initial spray is Clinique Happy alright but wait a half hour and this turns into a beautiful Rose scent on me.So weird that Rose wasn't even listed here. But I'm absolutely smitten! The scent just envelopes around you and it is so divinely feminine. To my nose this IS the absolute twin sister of Chloe perfume, Amazing scent, I just love it!

Edenrocks

If you're worried that this will smell like Clinique Happy, still try it out if curious. While there is a resemblance in the notes, the Tory Burch is much, much better. It is different. There is just a whiff of Happy in there somewhere.

rhizomaticleo

This scent has a certain sophistication if you will- a lovely scent for a woman in her late 30s, with main strong notes of citrus and is on the salty side with fresh floral notes, almost resembling laundry detergent. I imagine a certain elderly lady wearing this kind of scent, the kind that is not happy. It isn't that distinguishable or unique but it does remind me of a bar of soap, a mild "Irish springs" soap. An inoffensive perfume that would not impress but certainly would not offend. That all said, it is almost like a resemblance of the Tory Burch brand itself, the preppy fashions for the older crowd that is on the plain side. If i smelled this on someone, I would not flinch and I do not even have a difficult palette to please within the perfume world, I admire a lot but this one was the kind where you forget the scent within seconds after smelling it. This actually resembles more of an air freshener than a perfume and I truly had higher hopes.

Perfume Beginners

This fragrance immediately brings me to the mid-summer nights where orange blossoms blooming in the humid weather while greens bring you a bit of freshness. I love it so much. It is simply the scent of summer. But I don't know why I can barely smell other notes but neroli and oranges, probably because this is the first impression I had and it affects me so much that I cannot put it aside. Nevertheless I like the perfume.

It is a unique neroli scent different from other neroli and orange blossom fragrances. I love orange blossom and neroli scents as they always remind me of summer though I do not know why since there are no such plants and flowers around my home in summer. The greenery notes distinguish it from others as those perfumes are either too bitter in hot days with a lot of oranges smell or sweet and warm in a winter way by mixing orange, orange blossom, and neroli with vanilla and almond. I like the latter as well but not in summer days. They have great performances in winter. With the freshness of green notes, it is not overly bitter yet has some level of bitterness which suits summer so well.

Besides, the bottle is stunning with orange and gold. It just represents mid-summer days. If you are a fan of orange blossom, you have to try this. It will not disappoint you.

lmwimsatt

Lmao @ stacia! I disagree with most that this smells like happy also. It reminds me of something but happy is pretty unique and I've yet to come across something like it. That being said, they're both boring and basic. Tor burch kind of reminds me of envy me

stacia79

I am sampling Tory Burch today, I was too curious after my friend called it The Most Basic Bitch of All Perfumes. She also called it "office friendly" which is one of her biggest disses of any 'fume.
I was also intrigued by all the "smells like Clinique Happy" references, as I am quite familiar with Happy and always considered it my personal Most Basic Bitch scent.
I've got Tory Burch on one wrist and Clinique Happy on the other. Tory Burch is largely the better scent, although still awfully generic.
Tory Burch is an orange-grapefruit juice floral, while Happy is still a sharp chemical soup reminiscent of industrial cleaner. I really dislike Happy and I don't find Tory Burch anywhere near as headache inducing. If I had a gun to my head and was forced to wear one of these, I would try to negotiate for Chanel Gabrielle instead.

arefuthescroob

It's a lovely sweetish fresh fragrance, but I wouldn't recognise it in a crowd.

_christine_

Admittedly, I have never understood the fawning over the Tory Burch brand. Yes, she makes nice dresses, basic flats, and bags which have a stylish logo and a mid-high price tag. Her line is full of classics for the grown-up preppy. Her stuff is never going to offend, and therefore it's a little bit boring.

This fragrance is exactly suited to the Tory Burch brand - classic, safe, and lacking excitement. This is floral with clean citrus, soapy neroli, classic peony. It stays close to the skin, and it will offend no one (unless you get trigger happy). It has admirable longevity - 8 hours easily. It smells a lot like the shower gel at my grandmother's country club.

That said, I like it. It's an inoffensive, refreshing scent for running errands, playing tennis/golf, and drinking gin and tonics.

Julia-Gayle

This is a pleasant, herbaceous scent that would be acceptable for office wear in the Spring or Fall, however, as noted by a few others is not remarkable. Considering that this is her eponymous fragrance, it should be a,"Wow!",not an,"Ok....".

Yes, it is very similar to Happy but not as cloying thanks to the carrot seeds, the woody bottom notes and Alyssium (nice touch, the carrot seeds). But once again, Neroli has to show up at the party and ruin things. It conflicts with the grapefruit and creates a sour, flat note. Grapefruit as a top note should sing and zing but not in this case.
I look forward to trying her other scents but this one is heading for a Marshalls near you very soon.

winikrose

It smells like an orange gone a bit beyond prime. Well beyond tbh.

ATIronRaven

I got this after getting the jolie fleur rose, and it was just a bit too heavy for me. I honestly am trying to sell it on ebay now but after seeing these reviews i can see why its not going anywhere. I don't really think its all that bad, but gosh...

yloenog

When you smell the bottle, it really does have this fresh, citrusy smell - very summery, but then i sprayed it on myself and have to agree with some of the comments - it really does smell soapy and a bit heavy. Which in itself is not always a bad thing, as this perfume reminds me of some old-school soap my grandmother used to buy, and thus evokes some childhood memories. But nevertheless, i wouldn't purchase it.

ashypie2004

I enjoy this scent very much, from beginning to end. It's mostly floral to me, not a bit of sweetness, along with a some wood and earth. Of the top notes I definitely get the grapefruit, neroli, and mandarin. Of the heart I get tuberose and what I'm guessing is the carrot seed, which I suppose gives the fleeting earthiness I'm getting. I can sense all of the base notes, though the musk is minimal on me. Sillage is borderline heavy and longevity is fine (6 hours). Strangely I only like this one on skin (I usually use my perfumes more as an all-over mist, since the scent usually lasts longer on clothes. However, this on clothes is all head-achy jasmine and none of the depth compared to on skin. As it's quite strong, I'd say this is a Spring/summer, evening/special occasion fragrance for me.

Michelle12345678

Like all Tory Burch scents, this is thin, boring, soapy and has low sillage and low longevity.

Peachysugarbuns

This fragrance is not named Tory Burch Citrus Sun or something - this is Tory Burch TORY BURCH. How unremarkable for the defining fragrance of a fashion house!

Back in the early 2000's I had an Avon face wash (from their line of "mark." products aimed at younger gals) that smelled exactly like the citrusy, stiff, somewhat "sporty" fragrance known as Clinique Happy. Well, Tory Burch smells exactly like Happy, which reminds me of bitchy highschool peers, OCD college roommates, every passive-agressive co-worker I had in 2003, and that darned Avon face wash! Why can't I get away from this scent?!

So, of course, I'm over this Tory Burch fragrance...BEYOND over it. I can't believe this is even being sold right now, being so out of style and so close to Happy, which, despite my distaste, is an iconic fragrance that is still readily available. I feel like the fragrances from Aerin Lauder would fit in with the vibe of Tory Burch clothing. I have yet to smell other TB fragrances, but hopefully they aren't complete misses like this one.

skyelightfetish

Completely opposite to the Versace Oud Oriental I reviewed earlier, the very first sniff on my skin is pleasant, with the peppery citruses dominating.

I am glad I tried it on skin because on paper it's horrible, really really horrible - not even a shampoo smell but washing up liquid smell.

I get no, absolutely none of the currant buds - pity that.

In the middle part, from about ten minutes after application onwards, Tory Burch turns into a largely inoffensive but mostly boring and rather unstructured floral .

It settles into a faintly unpleasant drydown, identical on skin and on paper, with a wee bit of vetiver.

All in all, you can smell like a niceish bath/shower product without spending this much money. Completely uninspired.

mararie

It started off really nice with a fresh citrus smell, but after a few minutes it started to smell way too sweet, heavy, and cheap. My husband told me I smelled like an old lady.

nattonline

It smells just like it could have been another variation of Estée Lauder Pleasures to me. This similar scent gives me flash back to the early 2000 when my sister wears the Pleasures for her graduation and thoughout her career as a secretary. Smells nice, quite floral and timeless. Too bad it's just a bit pricey.

shauna.parra

This is a beautiful and classically formulated citrusy floral perfume. It's mature and engaging. I keep smelling my wrist. This is a gorgeous citrus burst at the first spritz. Smells like grapefruit and mandarin juice. Fresh and delicious. The fruit fades away fast and the heart is floral with peony mimosa jasmine and tuberose. It's light white flowers. The flowers are sweet and not cloying, and also not heavy. The fragrance dries down to light woods, very nice wood scent. It's easily unisex because it is so citrusy. I love how this smells. Smells clean and fresh, like when you are just coming out of a hair salon.

AngelEuphoria

I love this one and I usually don't purchase Floral/citrus scents. This is a terrific and well balanced fragrance. T. Burch is soothing and safe without sharing the same fragrance notes that design houses use for department store perfumes. There is something uniquely divine about T. Burch even though it easily fits a variety of occasions (Work/School/Church/Dress), and seasons...Adding this one to my list of favorites.

alfa.lázcares

Got a mini of this one and after testing it several times I would say it's an okay scent. It opens citrucy, I mostly smell the orange and after a while a bit of the grapefruit. But it's not a very strong citrus, in fact it's quite light, but the orange is not bitter nor sweet, I would say is a natural orange.
After a while I start smelling the flowers and for me they are soft and powdery. Specially at the drydown.
I also think on the drydown smells quite similar to Amazing Grace by Philosophy, but less powdery and a bit more fresh.
I would not buy the full bottle, but I do enjoy it for what it is. A clean and soft very unnofensive smell.
Sillage is not very good though. This one is more of a skin scent after the citrus dissapears.
Longevity is just meh. I can smell it for about 4 hours and then I just have to stick my nose to my skin to really smell it.

diana.devlin

Delicate, airy, feminine. I know it's nothing groundbreaking that we haven't smelled before. It does have similarities to Happy by Clinique but isn't nearly as sharp. But it also smells like Amazing Grace by Philosophy but with softer edges and a bit more orange blossom (soapy). And on my skin, it has pretty decent longevity. I love it and it makes me feel pretty.

Kharnak Rex

Fresh, bright fruity citrus. with an opulent body like something you'd expect from Chanel. The main body is like a FRESH cut Grapefruit peel, but less bitter, with a nice sweet Peony vibe. The dry down is much more musky, and sandalwood like.
Not bad, modern and fresh, "bright"

Sillage: modest
Longevity; pretty ok
scent, modern, fresh citrus, bright, rich

yashsanz

It did remind me instantly of Clinique Happy, which is not a bad scent, just very common nowadays. The worst part was that it gave me the most terrible headeache. If money was not an issue, and it is, I would buy it just to have that bottle which I think is gorgeous but nothing else.

silverraindropps

I love this scent! The citrus really stands out when you first smell the perfume in the bottle but on me I smell both the citrus and the floral. Most of the top and middle notes seem to be the scents I gravitate more and any perfumes with these notes, seem to be the ones I reach for the most. I wear this scent most to work and by the end of the day the smell still lingers. I always get complimented when wearing this perfume so something was done right!

DarlingNikki

Happy without that irritating balloon smell? Yaaaaassss! LOL! Not trying to knock Happy, but I could never get over that 'balloon' note and on my skin it seemed to magnify. This I really do like and see myself wearing it more often as spring approaches. Well done and a surprise hit for me as I usually steer very clear of citrus based scents.

silverslytherin

I had a sample of this from Tory Burch as a free gift while buying their lambskin flats. Horrible, synthetic smell. I was in a hurry to wash it off.

Martaynd

Jan. 2016 COMBO NOTE: LaVanila Pure Vanila + Tory Burch.

SheTurtle

Just another fruit salad scent. I am so sick of these. Totally lacks imagination and vision.

I do sincerely hope that this citrus trend gets kicked to the curb. Couldn't happen too soon.

OTA Mom

One of my go-to wear-to-the-office scents. Not overpowering, citrusy and clean. A pleasant weave of top notes. I do not detect any of the mid notes whatsoever.

Eaugirlspirit

Whoa this scent is soo hott right now. It's out of stock at my local Macy's and I have to drive farther to find a store that will stock it. Sephora and Macy's are the only ones right now.
In any case I am not surprised how quickly I jumped on the bandwagon(finally) with this scent. I think I want to collect all of the perfumes in this designer's house, because they are just so my style. I ordered Jolie Verte and now I am ordering her original. Citrusy florals that are uplifting and energizing are so what I'm about. Yesterday I bought the rollerball from Sephora and was so addicted wearing it all night that I decided to cave and buy the biggest bottle. This reminds me of 2 fragrances that I used to wear all the time: Clinique Happy and Lancome Miracle. I was an avid user of these 2 fragrances, having repurchased several times. Clinique Happy's shelf life was embarrassingly short. It would turn in 4 months time if I didn't use it up. That's the only thing I am worried about with this perfume given its citrus notes. However, the good reviews speak for themselves- this one is flying off the shelves, literally.
I don't have to think about this scent. It is easy to wear given that it's light and you can spray liberally and the ctirus tones make this a natural anti-depressant. It quenches my thirst for a perfume when I don't know what to wear which is why I am going to make it my signature as soon as my bottle comes in.

purpleturtle

Ok scent, but longevity wasn't there on me. Lasted 2 hours. Would call it a pretty floral. Got this in a mini set with the absolue version as well. Will have to try that one and see if I like it better. Definately didn't like this version enough to invest in a full size bottle. Happy smelling! :)

Linaskye

I wanted something a little more rich than what I normally wear, but still light and sparkling when I found this scent. I really liked the bright citrus that stayed with me for a looooong time in the lotion, so I bougnt the travel size and sprayed myself with a spritz or two.

Tory's effort here surprised me in the fact that although there are some pretty strong notes that could irritate some people if used in another fragrance, she kept it delicate and pretty enough that it's safe for most workplaces without it being too light to detect. Also, although I know I've tried perfumes that smell similar quite often, Tory Burch smells less synthetic and sits with my chemistry well. I definitely don't dislike it.

All that being said, I agree with reviewers that say this has been done before. If you've done a good job balancing notes and producing a fragrance of quality like this one, I send high praise for the effort, but unfortunately, that's about it. This is a big shoulder shrug and "meh" for me. I want to emphasize that I feel this perfume is very nicely done for what it is, and I was truly impressed by the balance and clarity. I didn't hate it and don't want to turn people off to what is actually a nice perfume, but if you're looking for unique, this is not your fragrance.

pipergirl

I sprayed this and two things happened. First, I immediately got the Clinique Happy comparison - the initial impression is of Happy without that irritating latex balloon accord. Tory Burch is sparkling, fresh citrus - like drinking an orange juice mimosa in a garden, so refreshing. Second, I sort of fell in love with this fragrance. Yes, love. And I realized why...Alyssum is one of my favorite floral scents of all time. I love the smell of those delicate little flowers in my garden. Never have I smelled that note in a perfume until now. Turns out Alyssum and sparkling citrus are quite a lovely combination. Yeah, this is going on my want list.

(edited to add: Disappointing longevity on this. Too bad.)

Scentsations_oudlover

The mimosa and alyssum really show up on my skin and it's wonderful. So unique! Not your typical citrusy floral perfume. I bought some for my mother and best friend. We're all gonna smell so good!

softwater

Without needing to repeat the already thorough enough descriptions about all the notes in this fragrance, I just want to add that this perfume is simply delectable, absolute Heaven on Earth and my husband goes wild whenever I wear it! When I see any negative comments I'm like "What the whaaa?!" But understand everyone has different taste. Sweet. Fresh. Never soapy! Gorgeous almost edibly delicious fragrance ( in my humble opinion!)

princessmorbux

Bright, sparkling, sexy. Opens with strong floral and citrus notes. A blast of mandarin and grapefruit with peony following soon after. I detect rose even thought it's not listed in the notes. I wish I detected the pepper, but sadly I do not. The dry down is warmer, with sandalwood and cedar becoming prominent. Even with the dry down I still smell a hint of the bright sparkling citrus that TB opened with. I'm not sure if it just works wonderfully on me, but it's not very light or sheer and it lasts all day. Sprayed it on at 6:45 this morning, it's about 3:30 pm now, and I still smell it!! I have a sample of it and I'm strongly debating going to Sephora after work to buy a bottle.

Dort0625

I was given a sample of this, and I couldn't think of what it reminded me of, until I came in here! And yes it is very similar if not near identical to Clinique happy! It's very pretty! I've not done any research into the price of this but if I was to find it for a good deal than I would pick it up!

Milladane

This starts out very citrus, and Clinique Happy comes to mind, but what I like about it most is the full body florals that come after, like how a standard perfume has traditionally been in decades past. Nevertheless, it is very modern, and womanly. This was my first impression. However, the second time, I didn't like it so much...maybe because I missed the big floral moments and it had already gone when I went back to sniff my wrists. The third time I tried it, I was reminded of why I liked it and also of why I did not purchase: Any grandness dissipated quickly and the dry down was very boring, clean, and flat. The modern bottle design is great, especially with that bit of orange, kind of giving you a clue to its juice.

mildspicej17u55l

Found a sampler probably from sephora laying around the house and decided to smell it. What I concluded from it is Tory Burch is simply a safe sent. Nothing more nothing less. This fragrance is not as complex as it comes of by looking at the notes. Just a clean citrus peony scent that was big in the late 90s and still is today. I recommend this if your a first time fragrance buyer and you just want to smell good during the summer and don't really care if it stays or not. If you're a collector, chances are you already have something similar so I wouldn't waste the money or energy. Not really worth it.

victoria.mei1992

It smells like avon perfumes, very simple, would not buy. Smells like washing gel.

LisaLovesPerfume

I absolutely love fragrances with orange notes. If you like this as well, then you will love Tori Burch. To me, this is happiness in a bottle. I have a sample and I cannot wait to get the bottle. It is a lovely scent for all seasons.

DebVW

I received this as a sample from Nordstrom. It is a full ounce in a very lovely bottle. The box is orange which evokes summer and citrus.

As soon as I applied it I knew it had to have been formulated by Estee Lauder.

It is citrusy with a soft floral edge. Another reviewer said she smelled rose right off the bat and so did I. It stays in this "rosy citrus" state for quite awhile. Eventually it dries down to a creamy tuberose gardenia scent with some sparkling citrus making cameo appearances now and again.

If you took Happy ad combined it with a little Private Collection Tuberose and Gardenia and maybe a little Be Delicious you get Tory Burch. All Estee all the time!

Not offensive but not notable. There are so many summer scents that surpass this - and many more I would rather drop a large chunk of change on.

Contessa01

Smells identical to Clinique Happy...

loving916

I just found out that there are so many ingredients, and I just smell citrus. I used to love it when I bought, however, when I found different that I like, I just found that the citrus smell is too much in this perfume.

Briarthorn

This scent is very muddled and synthetic. It's difficult to pick out more than loud Citrus-like notes and floralish notes in the opening, a peony-like note in the heart and woodsy-vetiverish notes in the dry down. Nothing is very identifiable and it's all very murky. This is not a well crafted scent.

It does project well, which is ironic because it's not something I want people to know I am wearing while I review it. The longevity is also not to bad, about 6 hours before it became a skin scent and 9 hours before it was gone. Unfortunately it did not wear well during this time.

fawnydawny

this is an almost sparkling bouquet of fruits and florals, like it's trying to be a better clinique happy. it's nice but nothing you haven't smelled before. definitely will not be repurchasing.

tia2905

The strangest thing about this scent is that even though I don't see rose listed as a note, all I can smell on myself when I wear it is rose. Pure cheap bath products scented rose.

Monie70

Not impressed! It's pretty, but not unforgettable. Light and citrus-y, maybe a wee bit salty. I don't know what but there was nothing that stood out to me as a top note, middle note or base note. Go figure.

I have a couple of samples that I wouldn't even bother wearing out if I want longevity. I wear it after I shower at night and I'm off to catch some Zzzzzs.

Like another poster said, this is "meh".

I would have expected more from TB but maybe it's a trial and her next fragrance will be of more substance.

Here's to hoping, anyway.

Tommy Girl without the tea, at least to my nose. From distant memory, perhaps somewhat similar to Happy, but I'd have to revisit it to be sure. Apparently people have voted as much though, so I guess that's the one it smells more like! Weird though, I don't recall Happy being this sweet. This scent is very sweet, very floral, and blatantly synthetic, sort of a bottled "essence of fluorescence." There's more peony than jasmine, but still a tremendous whiteout effect. I tend to think this type of cartoon girlishness works better on guys, but what do I know?

Elreno22

My nose may be underdeveloped but I smell floral notes mainly. Similar to others. There is nothing particularly outstanding, but it is a nice easy to wear fragrance. I see the similarities to Happy, and probably many others. I think the peony is overtaking the citrus for me. I'm only using a test strip, so maybe the spray is grapefruity. Again, others may adore this, and I can see that they might. Bit it seems like one in a crowd to me.

dkny27

Bright, springtime floral with some sophistication during the drydown.... Citrus and white flowers, cassis and musky wood, all accounted for...
Spectacular, not really...
Pretty, fun, mood boost in a bottle, yes.
If you're new to flowery fruit laced spring/summery scents, this one is worth a test.
Otherwise, I do get a "been there, done that" vibe...

Elle_W

I love this scent. I love this designer. I dislike the staying power. There really isn't any at all. Such a disappointment for such a premier designer. I expected much more from Tory.

ptilda

I really like the scent. It's clean and bright and happy. The problem is with the staying power. It's just nice.

zenbabylove

Omg!!! Mars13 is right: it's Happy-to-be by Clinique all over again! I loved that scent so much and never understood why they got rid of it.It was the best of their fragrances. This is the same liquid sunshine goodness! I ended up loving the refillable purse spray so much that I went ahead and ordered another set.

Mars13

Based on the accords of this fragrance, I expected to love it, however the reality of experiencing it was disappointing. I can agree with the comparisons to Clinique Happy but my first reaction was more of it's being a clone of Happy to Be. Although both of those fragrances are enjoyable, I have to say Tory Burch wasn't what I expected.

PrincessSierra

Pleasant citrus. But very generic and highschoolish. A whole lot of grapefruit. Nice, clean, safe. I'd totally pay $10 for this perfume.

Fail.

zenbabylove

Clinique Happy and Happy Heart blended together: that's what this is! I love sparkling citrusy scents so this works for me.I blind bought the purse spray atomizer that comes with a chic case and three refillable spray bottles.I got it from Sephora online.I chose this based on the notes listed and the comparisons to Happy which I love.I'm going on vacation and wanted something new, fresh, clean and portable and the purse spray is perfect for my bag. After I finish the mini purse bottles I'm not sure if I'll repurchase it in the full sized bottle but I'm enjoying it for the moment!

risarii

The new Sorority Girl perfume, I predict?
Tory Burch's work has never appealed to me at all, but it's all the rage and when she released her namesake perfume, the Upper-Middle Class Suburban world exploded. Every Ugg-pearls-and-north-face-jacket-wearing gal in America raved about it. I rolled my eyes and "meh"ed.
But then magazines, department stores and bloggers started raving about it and I thought "hey, what the hell? I'll check it out." I mean, I love Neroli. Peonies? Awesome! Alyssum? The flower from which my name comes from? Even more awesome!

Well, after checking it out, I'm back to "meh."
There's nothing grand about this perfume, in my humble opinion. It's like a slightly (slightly) more expensive smelling Clinique Happy, which I am very much not a fan of. It smells like hundreds of other fragrances on the market. Certainly not worth the price. It's generic and plain.

sandrajj

Received a sample of Tory Burch from Nordstrom the other day, and am finally trying it this AM. After about an hour, I'll have to say, "Meh"--I won't waste my money on this. It's high priced and only so-so.

Addict2Perfume

Tory Burch’s first fragrance was a scent that I was on the fence about for so long. It starts out with a sweet mandarin/neroli top note that is accented with a floral undertone of beautiful lush peony. Once it begins to dry down I can smell the fresh grapefruit that is smoothed out by the vetiver, so it does not smell sour or sharp. At first I thought I did not like it then - I decided that I did like it but, didn’t know if I would buy it. After giving it multiple tries I am happy to say, it completely won me over and I absolutely love it now! It was not the type of fragrance I am traditionally drawn to, but there is this simple sophistication about this fragrance that I just can’t get enough of. It is a fragrance that is suitable for everyday wear, on me it last around 4-6 hours, and is perfect for the spring/summer months. I hope Tory Burch continues to release new fragrances!

vreyna

I am, shamefully, a fan of Tory Burch accessories. I love her sandals. But this is not good to me. It gives a strong floral scent. It's too much. I had to wash it off cause it was making me sick. I dared to try a second time, it was better, but still too much. So glad I got the small, tiny bottle to trh
Im trying Si next by Armani
A woman recommended since I'm in LOVE with Flower bomb by Victor & Rolf. Wish me luck!

tessture

Bright, summery, watery floral that is fairly same-y. Nice, but boring.

Dymphna

I'm not so much surprised at the negative reviews since I know nothing appeals to or works on everyone, but the comparisons to Clinique's Happy make me shake my head. Happy smelled like vomit to me, I had to return it. Tory Burch, on the other hand, actually does seem happy to me. It opens with a light, sparkling grapefruit. White florals follow close on the heels of the citrus, and kind of swamp them--I'm not wild about that part even though I do like white florals. I would have liked to hang onto the pure citrus a little longer. But the drydown is a gorgeous combination of woods and clean, creamy musk that lasts hours on my skin. It smells grown up but not in an "old lady perfume" way--I'd say it's good for anyone mid-20s and up. I love it. I'm going to need a big bottle. Too late to ask for it for Christmas, but maybe for my birthday!

brandonmont

Reading these reviews and I'm shocked. I absolutely love this one. It's very sweet and sexy in its own way. Outside of Angel by TM, this has to be my favorite designer womens fragrance. Give it a shot because its awesome.

officer_barbrady

Everyone is right - it does smell like Happy; a musty, unappealing copy of Happy.

Skip this one. It's not worth half of its obscene price.

cloyd42

This is a gaggingly sweet knock-off of Happy without any of its charm. The white flowers and citrus attack immediately but there is nothing to temper the these notes and there's no development at all. Yes, I can smell that incredibly boring pink pepper cliche but I refuse to believe there's any vetiver whatsoever in this juice. My guess is the correct marketing campaign for this stuff ("If you like my boring overpriced preppy clothes, you'll love my boring overpriced preppy perfume, now with free suede headband") got overruled somewhere along the line. I'm sorry, I don't generally mind celebrity products (even if I make fun of them) but I really have an issue with products from people who are privileged, entitled and rich and who buy their business with their daddy's money. The only word that I can come up with here is vulgar. Use your money to buy Happy, or Miss Pucci or Joy--you'll be a lot happier with the results.

This smells like sweet orange oil in a glass of water with a squirt of vetiver and woods. As it dries down it gets an edge of musk to it. Every time I smell this I just think it smells like a men's cologne that they watered down significantly so they could market it to women. I actually like it, because I veer toward liking unisex colognes. But I personally don't feel it's even close to being worth the price. It feels more like a fragrance that should be sold in the aisles of Target for like $10-30 not at $100+ a bottle at a department store.

drugstore classics

Thoughts after testing a magazine scent strip:

Mood lifting, orange fragrance. The colors chosen for the bottle and packaging are correct. Very much a laughing, happy scent!

I find it lacking in longevity and therefore would not buy a full bottle at this price point. But it's a good reminder of just how appealing and joyful citrus can be. I highly recommend everyone have at least one CITRUS in their wardrobe, for days when liquid sunshine is in order. :D

Just for the record, I think Tory Burch's fragrance is considerably prettier than Clinique Happy!

xellast

Smells like orange, floral, and then vetiver at its base. I smelled it in store and thought it was really special, but I got a sample to wear around and it's nothing special. Out of all the perfumes I've smelled, this lasts the shortest. The top notes last less than a body mist but the base notes stay for some time and it's a very generic base that I dislike. If you really want to know what it smells like, I highly recommend get a sample before ever splurging for a bottle.

Eloquaint

Smells exactly like OFF! Deep Woods® Insect Repellent.

Aspendina

hubby likes it, but I am just so/so with it. it is citrusy but doesn't smell very young. It dies off quickly too, I have reapplied it 3 times in just an hour.

Dara813

Very citrusy and doesn't change much throughout the day. It is a very pleasant scent, kind of like Acqua Di Gioia without the sugar. It doesn't last very long on me. Only about 3 hours.

Kiera79

I think I like this.... It's not what I usually go for, but it's nice. Kind of a spicy, orangy scent and not sweet at all.

HanamiTsukimi

Like most everyone else, this undeniably reminds me of Happy. I can't fault it for that because I love Happy, but its similarity probably isn't going to work in its favor as far as popularity goes. Most people have been there, done that.

But if you haven't bought the T-shirt yet, this is a good option for an everyday fragrance. This is less sharp, slightly more floral than Happy and no less an office friendly scent.

JPS1979

Pretty bottle made me sniff this as I was browsing at Sephora. What a boring, uninspiring fragrance. Run-of-the-mill. Not awful, just nothing special at all. Thumbs down

Raven NessRavenous

I consider myself to have good discretion, but is it rude to comment on a dupe I found of Tory Burch? Because....at Cato's Fashions, I found an impression called "Too Much," and all I have to say is, after many a bad experiences giving dupes a chance, I love this dupe and I have never smelled the original Tory Burch. It is clean, citrusy, and reminds me of Clinique Happy Heart which I had just purchased right before I purchased the Tory Burch dupe! Go FIGURE! So if I love this dupe, I wonder how much I will like the real thing!

teadrinker

Having read the description and the notes of this fragrance I had high hopes, but I was not particularly impressed with this perfume. It has a sort of generic, light floral scent that I associate with springtime perfume. It smells quite "traditionally perfumey" when first applied. I'd call it a classic light floral scent. It's not that's it's terrible, it's just that there's nothing original or impressive about it. The scent was also a bit heavier than I expected. I'd definitely locate it on the heavy end of light. While well-suited for spring, I think it might be too heavy for hot summer days.

HANDAN86

this smells a lot like Chloe by Chloe, Tory Burch has a tad bit more citrus and soapy smell at the base instead of the rose base Chloe has.
this is nice for spring and summer.
very fresh and airy!
pretty fragrance.

nebbe

This turns thin on my skin after the initial notes wear off. It is not successful for me, and I gave my samples to a friend who enjoys more unisex fragrances. I like more body and warmth in my scents.

It's fine, really, a fine spring-fall office scent if it works for your chemistry. There is a freshness to it that I can appreciate.

AmoreProfumi

Very pretty scent, good job Tory (the price is a tad so so tho), perfect for the warmer months, I will add though while yes it is very nice, it's nothing I can't say new I smelled, this gave me a familiarity, I see quite a few people are saying 'Happy', which I don't get Happy to me is even cleaner/ more lighter then this, && the Tory smells way stronger, to me I get more of a Gucci Flora vibe from it, with it's citrus/floral && slightly spicy tone. However, that's prob just, me but hey I like Flora, so naturally I'll like this too, from the lil sample I got for my mom I tried a smidge on the longevity was pretty good!, not so sure with the sillage but it's an EDP so I imagine it's pretty decent, try it out if you're a Tory fan I'm sure you'll enjoy this, I will also add that the scent matches the bottle, I think orange with this, it's bright like a sunny day!. :)

Overall: 8/10

buubuu

Soft yet powerful feminine perfume.. I love to get this scent from the people I love, feel divine on them... Yep I also wear it... Lovely and comfortable

nush imogen

very very citrusy,a day fragrance best for spring, it's nice for it being her first fragrance but somehow i expected more.

genny17

If only it had been stronger, this smells nice, soft floral, but sooo light!?
I like it, feminine, mostly floral, with a hint of sweet notes..I detect the mandarin..I am on the edge with it, would it be cheaper, I would buy a bottle, there is something pleasant about it, kind of a stylish floral scent...
I don't detect much neroli really..this isn't to me a bright neroli perfume.
I guess I need to wear my sample more, and decide whether or not to purchase a bottle..UPDATE
I did buy a bottle, I like it, classy scent, a bit like Elie Saab EDT

craftyminx

The combination of these notes could have been beautiful on me, if it had been balanced differently. Unfortunately, though, all I get is the citrus, and everything else gets lost. It would have been lovely if I could smell the neroli and the sandalwood in it, as those notes are favorites of mine, but they just disappear.

aqua76239

I only tried it once so far and unlike most reviewers I don't find it all that "common"
If anyone remembers "White Camellia" by St John that they came out with ,back in mid 90s, I think TB smells very similar to that. Starts with citrus top notes, then transforms in rather lush floral. I guess I don't see similarities to "Happy" other than top notes. So far I really like this(and I am not really into floral perfumes) so will try it again to make sure its full bottle worthy

sunshinegurl17

This reminded me of Healing Gardens Mandarin Therapy. Smells nice if you want to smell like oranges. The scent of oranges just overwhelmed me and I couldn't get past it. If this fragrance had been out when I was a teen I probably would have loved it. Now it's not my thing.

Whit

I got a sample of this with one of my recent orders, and yes, it is reminiscent of Clinique's Happy. I like it though! It's very spring-like and effervescent, so it would be great for those carefree spring/summer days. I would classify it as a "mood booster" fragrance; one of those that you spray on to shake off a bad day. It instantly put me in a good mood when I sprayed it on, and it lasted quite a while on my skin. I had sprayed it on around the early part of the evening and could still smell it on my wrists the next morning, even though I had washed my hands a few times the night before. The sillage was moderate on my skin as well. I will say it's a bit overpriced for what it is though, which is disappointing.

kateapple

This is a disappointment. Like a lot of users have said, it's extremely similar to Happy by Clinique. It's a very generic, uninspired scent. Linear, short-lived, basic.

nadiadncr

Ok this is happy and happy heart together, save yourself some money and buy it from Clinique, it's cheaper and has better staying power. Very unimpressed that they recycle perfumes....

nikoleta1

Very ordinary light floral perfume, so ordinary that I cant remember any notes)))
Tory, stick to your jackets)))

Discovered this in Jan.2014. First sniff in store, I was not impressed. Smelled like a blast of oranges. Walked away from TB to discuss other fragrances with an SA who represented a $$$Euro line. Unbeknownst to me SA had dropped an unlabeled tester of TB in my bag. The subject of TB was forgotten amongst the subsequent perfume chat. Fast forward to this week when I found the tester and decided to test it on clean skin. Wow!! Went to bed and woke the next morning wondering what this was. Racked my brain trying to remember. TB was totally out of my mind because I didn't like what I smelled at the counter. It had to be from that super expensive Euro line I was sniffing afterwards.

Took the vial back to the SA at the Euro line to help me figure out which perfume it was. He couldn't figure it out.. A different SA comes to assist and suggested it was TB. I'm saying "nooo". She brings the TB bottle, we spritzed and wait for the dry down and voila! The winner: Tory Burch!!!

Ladies, don't let this one fool you. How she starts is NOT how she finishes. You have to give her time to rest and dry down. Definitely plays different on skin than fabric. I did not care for the blast of citrus right out of the bottle, but the floral that develops later is lovely. It is fresh, clean, bright and very feminine. So glad I found it.

Eirlys

I was really excited to try this perfume, and when I smelled it on a strip of paper, it was a normal, a bit generic scent. I tried it again on my skin at a sephora and was genuinely surprised. It's really fruity with the grapefruit note at first, but gradually it becomes more floral and woody as well. It becomes special, I just keep smelling my wrists afterward. And the scent last days on my clothes too. It's a bit different on my sweater than on my skin though (it's sweeter on skin imo.)

I feel like it's important to try this perfume on your skin first, let it sit there for a while and then you can determine if you like this or not. The longevity is about 6 hours on skin and even more on clothes, and people complimented me on the scent when they're about an arm length away, so I guess if you want it to sit really close to your skin, 1-2 sprays are enough.

Tory Burch's first fragrance is a great surprise for me, and I can't wait to try other fragrances by her, if she decides to create more.

Cddimauro

I just tested this today and overall I thought it was a "nice" scent. It's a citrusy, fresh floral, though not green. Once the citrus fades the scent becomes pretty linear, with a soft, almost soapy dry down. If you're looking for something to wear to the office, this would be a safe bet, as I doubt anyone would find this offensive. Not sure that's it's worth the price tag however, since you could find something similar at a fraction of the cost. If you're looking for something complex you should definitely look elsewhere. If I had to sum it up in one word: meh. And I'm really not that picky when it comes to fragrances.

Egyptian Goddess

I am just in love with this. effervescent citrus, but not overly sharp or perfume-y. It is just so pretty. I am going to ask for a bottle for valentine's day.

almarie

I don't like this one. I just sampled it today at Sephora and I honestly did not like it! In a magazine recently, I smelled it and I thought it was pleasant, but in reality, not so much. Oh well,at least the bottle is cute!

chittylafemme

This is an inoffensive citrus-floral with little complexity. This would be for someone who enjoys a nice clean floral scent and doesn't want to offend anyone around. Not for someone who enjoys an olfactory adventure, as it seems to be quite flat. it's nice, but not great.

fullbottleworthy

Woo hoo! It's finally in the database! Been wearing this for two solid days, and this is what I think...

When you first spray it, it's like a fresh glass of orange juice. It's fresh, citrusy, light, and VERY orange-y and grapefruit-y. I detect a slight hint of neroli, and a tiny bit of cassis, but mainly a blast of citrus. The drydown, imo, is a bit "muddled", if you will. The flowers are all thrown in a big pile and it's hard to make out what is there. Don't get me wrong, it's nice, it's just that there is not one particular flower that really shines. When it dries down, I get a hint of soft sandalwood and a whisper of musk, but I don't really get the vetiver or cedar. The drydown is very soft and by the time you get to that stage, it's quite faded and hard to detect much of the base notes. It's definitely a clean scent, and although not soapy, I could see where someone could get that feeling. It's definitely clean and there is no sweetness to it at all.

Overall, I do really like this scent, though it may be a bit "boring" or "simple". I think it's a "top-heavy" scent, if you will, as the scent is mainly top and middle notes, and I don't get much of a drydown, but I do like it and I think it's great for spring and summer. The longevity and sillage aren't that great, but the scent is very sheer, fresh, feminine, inoffensive, pretty, and great for pretty much everyone. I do agree with rickyrebarco that it's sort of a Clinque Happy type scent, but to me that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's not usually my thing, but hey, sometimes you have to change it up (even if you're calling on the 90's to do it!) lol

I give it an overall 83/100, and I think I might consider buying a bottle (just because I can't usually wear scents of this nature, but this one doesn't give me a headache and I still like it after about 30 sprays throughout the day), but keep in mind you will have to reapply frequently, which is a shame!

shoreshells

tested yesterday at Bloomingdales and loved it! It's on my Christmas wish list. The first feeling/thought; was this is a true woman's fragrance. It can't be mistaken for a young girl or woman. It lasted very long and made me feel sophisticated, independent, strong. I didn't care whether or not it was noticed or what's been said regarding the smell. I really liked the emotions/feelings that it brought to me.

Staceyann74

Prettyswag it smells like a lighter version of Fred Hayman Touch

nellyrlight

I don't necessarily understand the designer quality of this brand..but this is a pleasant, clean scent..my humble opinion.

nenuphar

Gorgeous bottle and oh so boring perfume. So disappointed.

bloosunshine

A soft floral, with sharp citrus notes and green synthetic undertones. Soapy dry-down, then poof,
not even a trace is left in 15min.Love the clothes,
the fragrance leaves much to be desired.
Totally uninspired.

rickyrebarco

I tried this new fragrance today and it was a big disappointment. Beautiful bottle, but the juice is pedestrian at best- boring, preppy water that smells like so many things you have smelled before. The grapefruit note overwhelms, at least to my nose and the vetiver and woods are stronger than any of the florals. I detect hardly any musk at all. This is sharp, reminiscent of a cross between White Linen and Clinique Happy and some sort of citrusy air freshener. I definitely would not waste my money on this one. I love Tory Burch's bangles and handbags, but this scent is a loser in my estimation.
