➳ I'm crying! This review will never do justice to this book, and i can't even explain how perfect this book is. It's literally the best book Ana has written, in my opinion! 😭 this had everything i always craved in a book, and it's so perfectly written! 🥺
➳ The characters are done justice, and I never thought this book would be my favorite in this series because I had the least expectations for this one. It has such a raw show of emotions, feelings, insecurities, and equal amounts of tenderness, thoughtfulness, and love. 💕

➳ Xavier is literally the love of my life now 😭, he's so different from all of Ana's men combined. He's freaking selfless, a realist (love made him delusional 😂), and so kind! His character made it easy for me to fall in love with him! The previous books kinda did justice to his character because he was a party boy but never a manwhore.
➳ He's funny, thoughtful, gentle, and observant, and immediately understood Sloane. Never once did his pov have anything sexual or him jerking off or anything because he's attracted to her body. He literally fell in love with her because of her personality + including her flaws. He's calm, and I don't think it's mentioned ever that he shouted or said anything mean to anyone (well except that ONE hawttt scene, gonna mention). He's sincere, and I'm speechless 😭, I truly am because I'm legit so in love! 😩♥️ And his dimples aaahhhh okay, I'm down! BAD!
The rest of her (his aunt) sentence cut off with a shriek when I grabbed her by the front of her shirt and yanked her toward me. ❝Do not ever talk about my mother.❞
➳ He didn't deserve to be blamed by his father at all. His traumas and mixed feelings for his father made sense. He wasn't the typical victim-acting and justifying everything with his trauma. He's literally not malicious or mean; he has such a pure heart. 🥹♥️

➳ Sloane is the best King of Sin series girl for me right now! I like others, but i knew i would love her. Her character is so relatable, and not once did I get angry because the girl knew about the cliche third-break-up things and made communication her first priority. She did let her insecurities talk for a day or two but came to her senses, and I love her for it! All her traumas are super valid, and her reasons to dislike Xavier at first were too, so no, she isn't judgmental either. She's so savage with her comebacks, and aahhh, now I get why everyone is so scared of her 😭💕

➳ The deals Xavier made to coax her out of her shell, and the trip and what came after that. Both of them needed each other because they were both deprived of rightful affection. I loved how Xavier was really honest with her about his feelings and already knew what was going on in her mind. He wouldn't drop a conversation even if his life depended on it and is truly stubborn. The quick barbs and that playful banter were extremely cute. he's so obsessed that he took favours from Alex after he's unsuccessful in bribing her doorman! He's also the type to reassure you about something, and the next second, ask questions about it again. 😂

I was legit screaming when he bribed everyone to clear the traffic, and drive on the empty pavement only because HE CAN AFFORD THE FINE! all while holding her hand 😭😩 and literally got a panic attack and banged her door because he thought she might be hurt 🥺 and those cab-bribing scenes ehhdhejdh 🫣
❝Now we lived together in a townhouse with a pet fish and a rooftop movie theater, and we were nauseatingly, disgustingly blissful.❞

And finally, no theories at all now, but I'm so happy Vuk and Ayana are getting their story next. I think Ayana's Indian (maybe)! And it's gonna be marriage-related or pining. 🥺

king of sloth? ha! more like king of this p- anyways. black cat fmc and golden retriever mmc will always be the elite dynamic and i will go to war for this stance. all ten toes down type shit. Xavier, you make me want to carve out our initials into a tree. 😝
why were there more cameos in this book than a disney channel crossover episode? don’t get me wrong, i’m not complaining in the slightest. but good to know my pookies are alive and well and thriving. anyways, let me hyper fixate on this poet of a man, Xavier, for a minute. his descriptions of Sloan made me want to write them down using a quill pen. “her laugh, unlocked a rush of dopamine, like a song I heard once and loved, but never discovered the name of, only to stumble upon it again years later.” XAVIER YOU GOT IT LIKE THAT?!? i would lay my life down for this man. he was so fierce, protective, patient, and loving. my homies cannot know i fuck with him this hard. 😖
Sloane is me and i am her… afraid of commitment and heartbreak. but underneath all those shields of badassery is women worth moving mountains for. i loved how she put Xavier in his place every single time. saw through his bullshit and pretty much lassoed his ass. she was standing on business and looked hot while doing so. the leash she has on this man should be studied. i’d use myself as a human shield to guarantee her safety. to have a man who respected her mind, soul, and boundaries and to humbly support his powerful girlfriend..i might have shed a tear or seven. they deserve the world and to cut me a check for my emotional state. 😃🔫
the plot outside of the romance actually had my attention this time. the fact that they both came from tough love families. to Xavier kick starting his business. The relationship between Sloane’s little sister and Xavier🥹 i get what she meant when Sloane said her ovaries were shaking. as were mine for more reasons than one. lord i wanna run my hands through his hair, my teeth were scraping through tree bark.🫥

Finally a good book in KOS series! Honestly, I kind of gave up on this series after KOG but Ana really surprised me with Xavier and Sloane’s story. This book is totally different from what she usually writes and I love how she is trying to write different characters and stories that are not only focused on romance but also on character's growth and development.
The plot revolves around two things — Xavier and his new business venture and their trial dating period. I loved Ana's writing in this one, and she added so many cameos from previous books and my heart was full of happiness and nostalgia. This book also has the best love declarations in the end and as much as they were unrealistic and dreamy, my romantic heart loved every second of it. I loved how raw and relatable the characters were, and I loved seeing them grow and come out of their comfort zone.

The independent, responsible, and intelligent Sloane is the girl everyone fears. She's cool and composed and never overreact in any situation except when it comes to Xavier. He made her go bonkers with his tactics lol. She hides behind the facade of ice queen because that protects her from the potential hurt, and her fears were reasonable because her ex was an asshole and he and her family really gave her some major trust issues. They said she didn't felt emotions or didn't cared but Sloane felt every hurt and emotion deeply, she was just incapable for showing it like others. She just needed someone who loved and accepted her who she was and Xavier did that for her. I loved how she didn't tried to hold herself back when he asked her for a trip and how he challenged her and pushed her outside her comfort zone but also made sure she felt safe. She was also giving me Jules vibes with her comebacks.

Xavier is the epitome of shameless flirt with effortless charm. But behind all that is just a man with raw in his vulnerability, who is scarred by his father's treatment. I get why he was so stubborn and inconsiderate all these years, and I am proud of him for finding his passion and working hard to make it a reality. He's thoughtful and caring and I love how he cared and paid attention to Sloane and noticed everything related to her. He's so observant and stubborn when it comes to her. I fell for him in the very first chapter despite him being a playboy, and I liked that he was not sexualising her every other moment like men in books usually do. There was not a single time he was obsessing over other girls except Sloane, she made him crazy and delutional. He's so unhinged sometimes, always bribing people to get to Sloane as soon as possible but he's also the sweetest and craziest person ever. The dates and the outings he planned for Sloane, the nickname “LUNA” had me swooning so hard 😩🦋 He's one of the best mmcs written by Ana and my favourite KOS series man. Period!

The romance was done so perfectly and it's not insta-lovey/lusty. It was more like getting to know each other, giving a chance to whatever attraction they had simmering between them for three years, slowly warming up to each other, it was about breaking barriers of protection they had contructed around their hearts and falling in love during all that process. It was simple, cute and beautiful. Xavier and Sloane have opposite personalities but they had same fears and insecurities in some way. They both had been deprived of affection and love by their parents, but they loved each other with flaws and all. The way Xavier tried to drag Sloane out of her comfort zone and how she encouraged him at every step of his new business venture was so endearing.
The ice queen x sunshine trope was executed so well. I loved their trips and their witty banter, the sexual tension, the dates Xavier planned for Sloane were perfect and everything a girl deserves from a man, the efforts they made to understand each other and how they listened to each other's story was so beautiful 🥺❤️🩹, and their love confessions 🤌🏻 Xavier and Sloane are the softest couple of Ana Huang.
The ending was the cutest 🥺💘 They gifted each other the pet they lost in past and its the most sweetest and thoughtful thing ever done! I seriously cried because I was so happy for these two idiot dorks. The third-act breakup was unnecessary as always and it's Ana so you know it's what she does. I would've loved if the mystery behind the Vault's fire was explanined but maybe it's left on purpose for future books. I really can't wait for Ayana and Vuk's book! I have a thing for broken and tortured heroes so I already know I'm gonna love it 😋

The romance was done so perfectly and it's not insta-lovey/lusty. It was more like getting to know each other, giving a chance to whatever attraction they had simmering between them for three years, slowly warming up to each other, it was about breaking barriers of protection they had contructed around their hearts and falling in love during all that process. It was simple, cute and beautiful. Xavier and Sloane have opposite personalities but they had same fears and insecurities in some way. They both had been deprived of affection and love by their parents, but they loved each other with flaws and all. The way Xavier tried to drag Sloane out of her comfort zone and how she encouraged him at every step of his new business venture was so endearing.
“I don’t want a kiss or a one-night stand,” he said. “I want you. I want to know you outside work. I want to take you on real dates. And I don’t know if it’ll work out in the end, but I want us to at least try.”
The ice queen x sunshine trope was executed so well. I loved their trips and their witty banter, the sexual tension, the dates Xavier planned for Sloane were perfect and everything a girl deserves from a man, the efforts they made to understand each other and how they listened to each other's story was so beautiful 🥺❤️🩹, and their love confessions 🤌🏻 Xavier and Sloane are the softest couple of Ana Huang.

The ending was the cutest 🥺💘 They gifted each other the pet they lost in past and its the most sweetest and thoughtful thing ever done! I seriously cried because I was so happy for these two idiot dorks. The third-act breakup was unnecessary as always and it's Ana so you know it's what she does. I would've loved if the mystery behind the Vault's fire was explanined but maybe it's left on purpose for future books. I really can't wait for Ayana and Vuk's book! I have a thing for broken and tortured heroes so I already know I'm gonna love it 😋

I am not going to write a detailed review for this because I honestly don't have much to say. This was better than pride and greed but not as good as wrath. I don't know how to describe this but writing style for KOW and KOG was very easy to read and had you entertained but for this and pride it wasn't like that I often found myself getting bored but the characters and the plot actually kept up so I did not mind it that much. I had problems but I still enjoyed it.
Xavier was amazing to read and Sloane was so different maybe that why I liked her so much, I also loved how we explored a lot of their past which made me like their characters a lot and they also didn't do anything to frustrate you so that was a plus. Sloane's relationship with Pen was so cute and Xavier going out of his way to arrange meeting between them was also so wholesome. I also liked how Xavier paid attention to Sloane and learned everything about her. I liked the moments between them but I wasn't in love with them and the spice (I cant believe im saying this) wasn't that spicy.
This book was easily the most plotty. There were some moments that were just so good especially that will scene. I was more happy with the plot than I was with the romance because I wanted to see what happens and how Xavier might handle things, was also intrigued by the vault and the mysteries revolving around it which was all just so interesting. Also that one interaction b/w Xavier and his Aunt, AHH I have never been more satisfied.
We got cameos of Alex, All the KOS girls, Kai and mentions of Jules, Bridget, Rhys, Ava, Christian and Dante I might be missing some...so this was filled with it and I think moving forward in terms of plot there will definitely be more of these Cameos and honestly I enjoyed them.
Overall in terms of plot and characters I would say this book was a solid 4 but it didnt quite deliver on the romance aspect as much as I was expecting it to so I had to lower my rating. The series is improving a lot tho and I am very excited for book 5.

*𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡* I'm still stuck on my rating since it's between a 3 and 3.5 🌟. This was one of my most highly anticipated reads since KOG wasn't a good read and let's just say this book was underwhelming and disappointing to say the least.
Even since this book was announced I was so excited and couldn't wait to read the book. I didn't go in expecting 5 stars,but I thought I would have a good time reading the book😭. This book had a good plot and so much potential but it wasn't executed right. I don't know if it's me whose the problem,the book or me going into a book slump, but this book was mid🥲💔. I wasn't invested and bored in the first half of the book but the second half was interesting. I read this in one sitting because I knew I would not pick it back up if I put it down. This did not need to be over 450 pages.
Pros
• I enjoyed seeing and hearing about so many characters from the author's different books.
Cons
• I didn't expect so much family drama. I can't stand family drama, especially if at some point some of the crappy family is forgiven in a way. (SLIGHT SPOILER) Like in the epilogue, it said she was doing therapy with them. And the drama just felt unnecessary. I found myself rolling my eyes and getting so annoyed at the fmc’s family.
• The characters got together way too soon considering how long the book was. I felt like there was not enough build-up. It just kind of happened.
• I didn't like the mmc at all. I don't understand how a grown man, about to hit 30 years old, acts like a brat and parties and sleeps around so much. I don't find it attractive. And I get he had “character growth”, but I am so over the “I was a playboy but then I screw you” trope. I can’t even say “but then I met you” in this situation. ⇩
• They have worked together for around 3 years and the fmc has had to clean up his messes with the public and had to deal with his attitudes. I get that he has trauma and daddy issues, but I am so tired of it. It just isn't an excuse anymore in my opinion.
• The fmc was labelled as “ice queen” and “cold”, but I just feel like she wasn't. I didn't get that vibe. I felt like sometimes she let certain people in her family walk all over her in a way. I get she had the last “laugh”, but there were so many situations where I wanted her to leave the situation or punch someone. I felt like we were told she was someone who didn't “feel”, but every chapter was saying how she did feel and how sad or tired she was about stuff. Considering the fmc “doesn't cry” she sure had a lot of moments where she was about to.

I do plan on reading the rest of the series. I am very excited about the next book with Vuk😚. But I am worried the quality is decreasing with this series😬.

this was one of my most anticipated reads of this year and it did not disappoint. i thoroughly enjoyed xavier and sloane’s story. i am unsure but i fear this possibly just might be my favorite book of the kings of sin series so far?although.. hate to say it but i lowk wish there was slightly more tension.. now a year wait for king of envy *sigh* and i’m already soooo excited for vuk and ayana’s story based of the sneak peeks we got in this book. omg. the freaking cameos. i loved how she implemented characters from her past series into the storyline. i’ve said this before and imma say it again, ana never fails to connect all her books so so well. ended this with an unanswered question though.. ana babe what are u plotting!!

I’m not even gonna go ahead and summarise this story because I have no clue what I read. Ana Huang has been one of my favourite authors and I appreciate her however this was absolute garbage. I would like to know who passed this book idea because she did not execute it.
Her writing is terrible, the smut is disastrous & let’s not start talking about the couple. Was the chemistry in the room with us? Because I feel I have more chemistry with Xavier than Sloane had and I’m the one reading the damn book.
I only loved the cameos especially from Alex. Guessing the future couples was fun too because I got it now. But that’s literally it.
Ana, I see what you tried to do however this is not my cup of tea at all. I wish you all the best in publishing better written books with better plots.

My goodness, there's something about a man who gets up and builds himself from figuratively, well....nothing, just to spite his dead father, that gets me going.
The charisma, the playboy looks with golden intentions.... Xavier may have been gifted the cliches but my boy was no ordinary man I tell you!
Sloane was the epitome of prideful elegance and if we didn't appreciate that enough then Xavier sure did... I love how she stood her ground for whay she felt was right and doesn't give a damn when everyone else labeled her as being petulant and stubborn. She was a headstrong FMC to the very end and I stan her for it!
The way they worked through differences wasn't in the usually rushed and cliche ways...and the way Xavier loved Sloane through her doubts and Sloane love him throughout his " disappointments"... LORD I want that! *pretty please with a cupcake and icing*
Just picture me sitting here with a bird nest looking head and wild eyes waiting for King of Envy to drop

King of Sloth follows Sloane, a PR manager, and Xavier, her most difficult client. While Xavier is off partying and making headlines, Sloane is behind his every move making sure he doesn't taint his family's name. When Xavier tricks Sloane into taking a vacation, the two get closer than ever and are forced to acknowledge their obvious chemistry. However, when they both get called away by a tragedy in Xaviers' family, Sloane must decide if a potential shot at love is worth risking her career.
While I did enjoy this romance, I don't think it had nearly as much banter and charm as the first two books. Despite that, I loved how Xavier and Sloane's relationship developed. The two were absolutely meant for each other, they were both so healthy and supportive of the other. I loved how desperate Xavier was to make Sloane happy and get her to let loose from her hectic life, the man was so obviously enamored with her from the beginning. I also loved how the family drama played out and perfectly balanced out the character development, both Sloane and Xavier's struggles were equally addressed and the way they worked them out together was so sweet.

There is one thing Ana Huang does every time she releases a book, and that is making me fall in love with more fictional characters that she wrote.
King of Sloth was everything. It was addictive. It was full of chemistry, banter, and tension. It had a fictional MMC and FMC (Xavier and Sloane) to swoon over. It was perfection. I loved every minute of reading this book, from watching the characters fall in love, to the quotes, to the spice, and the character growth, KOS is a must read. Especially if you love a romance where he falls first (I’m a sucker for them).

These books are the biggest guilty pleasure. I know they aren't perfect by any means, but they're enjoyable. I found this story a little boring? I didn't really feel blown away by anything that happened.
Sloane's character was refreshing. Her parents had money, but she went out on her own. Did her own thing.
I swear Xaiver was the sweetest man. I loved his golden retriver energy.
I liked how the previous characters came together to help Xavier. This was a cute little love story. 💜

Ana Huang selected me as an alpha-reader for this book so I actually read this book back in December! I've been waiting to talk about it for way too long so it's finally time to share my FULL review. Mind some minor spoilers ahead:
Sloane is everything I wanted her to be. I know readers are divided on grumpy heroines but Sloane has a good reason to be the way she is and once you uncover her vulnerabilities, I think a lot of readers will relate to her. But she still maintains that badass PR agent personality that many readers already love about her. She’s like the twin flame to Jules Ambrose; where Jules was all spitting fire, Sloane is all throwing ice daggers and I LOVE IT.
Xavier is a hedonist billionaire but definitely not like any you've read before. Billionaire romances tend to feature men who love their job, love to work, love to make money, right? Well, Xavier just likes to play with his money and he doesn't care about working! Like tell me how many billionaire romances you've read about like that, huh? But he's not totally spoiled or annoying, don't worry. There's a reason why he hates working for his family's company and the forced proximity actually pushes him to find his own ambitions. So this is more of a billionaire romance where we get to see the hero BECOME a billionaire, we see him start his own company from the ground up and that was new, not been done before. So for the people getting tired of reading the same billionaire trope from Ana, don't worry- she's constantly finding new ways to switch it up on you so it doesn't get boring!
And it wasn't- this book was a great balance of funny, sexy, sweet at times, and very romantic. Xavier is a total flirt, so charming, and very obsessed with Sloane so he pursues her and chases her to the fullest. He goes hard and we love to see it cause they both deserve love. The story plays in the background and I like that we got to see Xavier building his nightclub empire and how that brings in ALLLL our fave Ana characters from all THREE of her series. From Alex being his typical business grumpy self, to Jules and Farrah popping in with their expertise, to Sloane working with Ayana and Asher, this is THE book of cameos!
And it's also the book of CLUES. We get to see more of Vuk Markovic, who is the Silent Serb from King of Pride. We get to learn more about his mysterious backstory because he ends up working with Xavier on their new business endeavor. But the real mystery starts at the end. Make sure to pay close attention to the last third of this book because Ana gives us small but important details that do NOT get answered by the end of the book. I have theories and I think most of us will come to the same conclusion that everyone's fave brother Roman is involved! If you guys remember Magda from the Twisted series, it feels like Ana's setting up something similar to that again- a minor mystery that continues throughout this series. So you will not get all your questions answered yet but that's okay because Xavier & Sloane's romance is more than enough.
So now we know who Ana's next two books will be about: Asher Donovan (who is a street-racing, soccer playing, teammate-hating king!) will be featured in The Striker releasing Sept 2024 and Vuk Markovic and Ayana (the gorgeous model everyone will be envious of) will be King of Envy releasing March 2025! Sebastian Laurent (the French chef and restauranteur who's friends with all the guys) will probably be King of Gluttony and that just leaves the last and best: King of Lust (hmm, who's your guesses?)!
