Rise by Akro is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Rise was launched in 2023. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Cresp. Top notes are Piña Colada, Pineapple and Coconut Water; middle notes are Toffee, Tiare Flower and Frangipani; base notes are Sandalwood and Ambroxan.

Akro presents Rise, the new Eau de Parfum, in late summer 0f 2023.  This is a fragrance that celebrates the pleasures of summer in every season. The inspiration lies in days spent at the beach, a cocktail, and a festival under the stars.

The composition opens with sweet notes of coconut water and tart pineapple accents reminiscent of the Piňa Colada cocktail. It mixes toffee and tiare flowers and closes with sandalwood.

Available as a 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Sweet and tropical at first, a little sunscreen-y. But the sweetness fades pretty quickly, and it turns into coconut water. Not a sweet creamy coconut, but a fresh and light watery coconut. There's also a green spiciness at the very bottom. The next day after wearing it I was trying to place the smell, because it's all that's left 16hrs after spraying it. It finally clicked after reading some reviews- it's celery! It's an odd green, spicy, vegetal note that isn't entirely unpleasant.

With the initial sweetness, this is a fem-leaning frag. But after 20 minutes of dry-down I would call this unisex. It's nice and summery. It'll be good for the dog days of the Texas summer, because it's not cloyingly sweet.

Celestya

A pina colada in a bottle. Perfect for holidays, summer, etc...
Vibe: a cocktail for a refreshing day at the beach...

I like it (as bake by Akro)

Nataliii

Its sweet, not cloying, but I don't smell any tropical top notes here, just lactonic all the way. So nothing special.

stinksogood

The only thing I smell is indolic tiare. No pineapple, no coconut, no sweetness. I know that I am in the subset of people who can not smell ambroxan (Juliette has a gun, not a perfume, for example). I am guessing that this genetic variation makes these kind of scents off-putting to me, as if the intended notes lean on ambroxan to bring them forward and because of that, my nose detects something completely different.

venush

Rise is a big disappointment for me. The creaminess and tropical sweetness is totally missing and the replaced with a cucumberry and watery concoction, progressing to a chemical fizzy drink with some bitter lemon finishing touch.

Ratou93

Akro Rise is a fragrance that brings a tropical breeze to your senses, with a noticeable Piña Colada note at its heart. This captivating scent combines creamy coconut and juicy pineapple with hints of other exotic fruits, evoking memories of beach holidays and sunlit shores.

The sweet and uplifting aroma is balanced with subtle floral undertones, creating a fragrance that's both energising and comforting. Perfect for those who love the warm, refreshing notes of a classic Piña Colada, It's like a holiday in a bottle.

I would personally only use this for warm days in summer.

mschroe090

Definitely smell the coconut with this one. Super refreshing and bright with the pineapple, but not much depth to this. I wish I could smell more of the Toffee but it's not standing out to me, maybe it's just my nose. It's a good smelling fragrance, but I think I get more tropical out of something cheaper like Rum Tropique.
Overall 7/10

lmnsvgz

Juicy pineapple, mix of sweet tropical fruits with a bit of citrus that adds freshness. Very, very lovely!

fraghead97

super juicy pineapple on the skin that lasts a few minutes before turning almost metallic on my skin?? i fully dislike the dry down. this one is bizzare…I get that they were trying to stand out amongst the hundreds of coconut / vanilla tropical fragrances on the market, but something about this smells off. especially after how photo-realistic and decadent their bake release was!

yeldah

It smells exactly like butter popcorn when its on skin! Smells like rich American girls

OTA Mom

While it brings to mind the notes listed, they don't ring true to me. Like plastic fruit. And I'm not at all getting the connection between the name and the scent. At least Bake made perfect sense once you experienced the fragrance.

Testing this blind, all I knew was that this was going to be a Akro fragrance I have not had before, and as I didn't recall whatever their newest release was, I was excited to test this blind. My first thought was fruity green, with a floral body - but later in the day I got a whiff that reminded me of fresh King coconut water when living in Sri Lanka for a short while, but pretty watered down, but by and large throughout the day I just got a nice refreshing air of green floral and fruity vibes, like a cool breeze. Looking at the notes, most make perfect sense but the fragrance is not really forward on any, and thankfully so. It is very comfortable, not overly sweet (I don't get any of the toffee note), and if any criticism, maybe a little uninspiring. I imagine those looking for a beachy coconut bomb will be disappointed. This is more light, airy, friendly, and casually fun. Its an easy wear. I think it ever so slightly leans feminine. And on me the longevity was over 12 making it a good buy in my mind, but at the end of the day, I'm not one for coconut fragrances but this definitely is potentially a nice little gift for when summer does start.

Shui-Xian

I left the perfume on my skin, despite the sweet opening, which I hated, and I am glad.
Through pineapple and strong, creamy piña colada, I get sugery toffee: quite a contrast with sour frangipani. Once the fragrance get settled into the base, it became a heady, pleasant experience.

I enjoyd the lactonic aroma and indolic flower note. It is gourmand pleasure indeed. (Still not my choice, but this scent deserves respect.)

Projection is moderate and melts nicely on skin. Longevity cca 4 hours.

Ginaisscentcurious

It's the dead of a long winter, I tested this on and Akro Rise takes me on an instant vacation. It's sunny and relaxed and there's mischief in the air. Oh, is that a Pina colada in my hand? Yum. The sunny is a bit hazy, let's put on sunglasses.... There's music. I'm transported. Bye! 👙🏖️☀️🍹

Dmiddy

Compared to other brilliant scents in the Akro range, this comes off as corny and generic.

CocoBlack

This fragrance is a journey
1. First spray: delicious beachy scent, sweet, delectable. You can smell the coconuts and the pineapple.
2. Dry for an hour: too sweet, almost annoying, smells like sunscreen lotion, not easy to scrub off.
3. Remaining scent on clothes after 8+ hours: delectable, light, intimate scent. Happy, bubbly. Pineapple and coconut again.

It is pretty, a bit synthetic. Never as cloying as a "tropical" designer fragrance.
Just please try before buying

ScentedSuzanne

I ordered a fb of BAKE from Akro, and they included a sample of Rise (along with a sample set). To my nose, Rise smells like a kind of doughy sesame seed bun, and it's very one-note. Not unpleasant, but a little strange. And, sadly, I don't get any of the luscious notes listed here. BUT, I discovered that when I layered it (and I mean one on top of the other, not side to side) with Devotion, Olivier Crisp's new release from D&G, the bun-like quality of Rise and the citrus pastry vibe of Devotion perfectly complement one another. They are beautiful together, and combined, they remind me of a very high quality lemon/cream cheese danish, warm, buttery, and comforting.

irlfireprincess

This is a very weak scent to my nose. I get pineapple for about 3 minutes, then it settles into a very faint, watery scent tinged with...metal??? Maybe that's the ambroxan. But there's something oddly mineral about this. It's like spilling some coconut water diluted heavily with regular water onto a metal filing cabinet and then smelling it. Not at all what I was expecting. Glad I only got a decant.

JoyousOne

This was such a disappointment considering how good Bake is. This is horrible. This is rancid. Wasnt this supposed to be sweet? Did the definition of sweet change but no one informed me?

maria_ginkgo

Okay I’m just going to say the first thing that came to my mind when I sprayed and sniffed…literally the first thought…I hope it helps:
“Why does this smell like celery? And why do I kind of like it?”

To me it smells like if the scent of celery sticks was a perfume. Like if you grabbed celery, snapped a stick in half and smelled the juice….but in a perfume. Don’t hate it, also don’t love it. I don’t want to smell like perfumed celery.

sunchild50

this smells like mango skin. lasts for ages on clothes

not very sweet or as tropical as I'd have liked, don't get the coconut or pineapple

Allisonmsmith22

Smells like a fruity chapstick. Extremely synthetic and simple.

Latetothescene

My initial first impression in the store was positive, but we all know how reliable those are. Lol. Sadly, upon testing a sample, this was a no. I Mean, it's not unpleasant, but it just smells synthetic and dare I say a bit designer? Pineapple? Where? I do not get it. Third testing. Weird. There is a very distinct green note in the opening that I can't quite place. But it's green and it's there. Don't love that. The coconut reminds me of the one used in beachwalk and alien goddess which veers on smelling like nail polish to my nose. (After i wrote this, i took a read and i'm not the only one who's nose went Alien goddess.) I do think it's a certain synthetic some people just are a bit sensitive to, like me. It's nothing like the horrorfest called ambermax but it's not nice to my nose either.
It just does not smell delicate and rounded. Just harsh, thick and synthetic. If gifted, yes I would wear it, probably ...

So, not bad, not great for the price. Agree with reviewer below.

OH yeah, performance is bad, sorry. Gone after an hour or two. Just a very soft skinscent. I'm sure on clothes it's much better.

wilfred3

After the phenomenal Bake this one is a dud for me. There is a photorealistic pineapple at the start but it's fleeting and things quickly get synthetic and not too pleasant. There is an overpowering base note that dominates and gives it a plastic quality as mentioned below. I expected there to be more of a gourmand edge with the sweet notes & Pina Colada but this isn't it. It doesn't smell particularly beachy either (Cresp's Bendito Beso is a better example) just synthetic & offputting. Pass.

emerson10

This feels buttery and ozonic at the same time. It smells like seaweed, buttered popcorn, and coconut. This is not scent profile I go for at all so an easy pass for me. I loved the initial concept of Akro so much and I feel like the vice hook seems to have disappeared.

If you're into the beachy genre (in either the oceanic OR tropical direction, this is a little bit of both) and could be worth trying.

yy123

Opens fruity, sweet, watery, like a tropical drink, but ambroxan quickly appears to muddy everything. Then gourmand sweetness appears, fruits persists, with flower and wood in the background. Synthetic.

AstralMatrix

Not being negative at all, but descriptive: Akro Rise is the most disgusting, off-putting fragrance I've ever smelled.

Thank God I bought a sample first. It has this nauseating thick note that overpowers the other notes. It's like I'm smelling suntan lotion on someone else's skin.

I initially get synthetic pineapple, but it's fleeting. Then it smells like non-descript cheap suntan lotion, but I get no piña colada or coconut water. I grew up on those two things.

Sample it first!

It's not a sweet or yummy fragrance. It's plasticky, waxy and dull mixed with the thick nose feel of sea water; at least the sample I got from Lucky Scents is.

Maya lilac

Rise is a delectable summertime fragrance. Launched in the beginning of September..

What brings new to the market in my opinion is that is a tropical floral gourmand. It combines the frangipani and tiare flower with pineapple juice, coconut water, pina colada and toffee. A scrumptious cocktail of flavours and tastes. Smooth, creamy and sugary sweet!

What I don’t really like about Rise is that it’s more of a soft, close to being a skin scent. Doesn’t project much. Mediocre performance for a high price point. Dark was a strong performer, Bake is somewhat in the middle but Rise is really lacking in the performance! And from all three of them, Rise is my favourite!

Also, I wish they would change the packaging for the future releases, I want something more interesting and colourful. And a bottle with an atomiser that doesn’t leak all over the bottle and inside the tin packaging! Cause this is how my Rise got to me, leaking..And it was perfectly packaged otherwise.

Maybe just switch the cap to something looking more unique and luxurious. And better quality…
Or use some colours for the writing on the bottle… Rise is a summertime tropical scent and just by looking at the bottle nobody would guess that!

I can understand that this minimalistic, industrial vibe, dark and gloomy aesthetic might be trending or something, but it doesn’t suit this scent for sure..

Maybe I would love to see from Olivier Cresp more involvement into designing the packaging, going of his French roots more, than the input from his London based daughter and her husband. It’s his own brand and he can to make changes easily if he wants. I would like to see something more exciting and youthful in the packaging because I am starting to lose interest in his brand!

amanda0727

Save your money. Just take the juice from a canned pineapple and spritz it all over yourself.

Sindely

Rise is a fresh, clean coconut water with some flirty florals mixed in. It is a very nice coconut, if you love all things coconut maybe it is for you. Rise is pretty, it is nice, it is safe. This scent is perfect for a warm beach vacation.

I think I envisioned the name “Rise” as some form of cake rising. If you loved Bake and want to re-live your lemon cupcake fantasy with a more tropical coconut cupcake this will probably be a disappointment.

Sniffathon

This is just okay. Pleasant enough with a nice note profile, but a little plain of its genre. Also quite low in projection. In similar vein of fragrances, ones that come to mind which I would prefer over this is Stephane Humbert Lucas Soleil de Jeddah Mango Kiss (so wonderfully complex), and even Tom Ford Soleil Blanc (more of a coconutty summer fragrance).

twinmamacita55

After falling in love with Bake I thought for sure I would love Rise. Not the case. All I get is the white flowers. I don't smell any pineapple or coconut - it's like they forgot to add those to my bottle. This is a hard no from me.

Nessers

Akro’s Rise is exactly what you think it's going to be. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you. There is nothing surprising after the first spray. Yes there is pineapple, but say this is a tropical fragrance and I will say you are stretching your words. This is not fruit forward and instead it is more of a toffee gourmand with a little pineapple on top. Yes the coconut is there as well. It is realistic yet subtle and smells more like girls at the beach than piña colada. My favorite toffee note comes from Italica by Xerjoff because of its buttery characteristics. Very different from Rise. This fragrance makes me think of a Group of young girls trying to make the most out of their last hours at some resort in the Caribbean island. It's fine, but I've had better. It's almost like Rise is amateur hour and we are waiting for the headliner to arrive. One thing I will say. If you like simplicity. If you like something along the lines of Kate Spade’s Live Colorfully this is perfect for you.

jmg1975

First Akro I don't absolutely love. This is good but doesn't wow me like the others. Akro does really really REALLY great versions of stuff you've smelled before. This one however just smells like a slightly better Juliette Has a Gun Vanilla Vibes. You can smell every note in the profile here but for me the pineapple is too fleeting. If the florals were a bit more muted in the middle and the pineapple held through the duration more or snuck up again here and there it would be excellent. As it is ..it's decent.

Helloneighbor

I see what the reviewer below said about the funk. It does have a funkiness to it in the beginning, like overrripe fruit. However, it does dry down very fruity and you can detect the florals. It definitely screams summery and I’m glad I bought a small bottle for it. This could be good layered with a fuller vanilla or a woody scent this fall.

Vannamae__

I ordered a sample since I haven’t had the best luck with this brand so far and I’m glad I only got a sample because to me, while it smells pleasant, it’s really boring. It smells like a combo of other generic department store perfumes I’ve tried before. I’m sure this will find it’s audience but there’s no wow factor for me here that separates it from the masses and the projection and longevity is minimal.

Nika123

Smells really similar to Alien Goddess but a little bit more unisex and less heavy. Not what I expected.

Seuni

Blind bought it because of the notes straight from the producer. Will take about 5 days to deliver - I will update this comment with my honest thoughts from a 29yo European male. May I have a warmup thumbs up?

If I were to draw conclusions just by the notes I’d say 1 Million Parfum (I think there’s gonna be monoï here), maybe some Le Beau Le Parfum, maybe Mancera Holidays… let’s see what it’s gonna be

@editt

So OK I did not expect that. Everyone saying it’s a 1:1 linear pina colada? They lie. I’m not ever sure that’s a gourmand.

There’s pineapple, more like the overripe very sweet one than acidic or tatr (hoped for the latter). It’s not here for long, just an initial sniff - after the opening the aroma is still here but less transparent, more yellow floral exotic. Coconut? Yeah, I guess, but would I pick it up without the notes telling me? Not sure. Don't expect a coconut ice cream, more like coconut water or a freshly opened real coconut. It’s also creamy, but not edible creamy. More body balm or sunscreen creamy - and that’s what you get here. A sunscreen vibe. Expensive one, but still. The mid is full of florals, like, an abundance of. Lots of white florals with that frangipani serving as the yellow before mentioned note. I’d be very surprised if there wasn’t myrtle here. Either it is, or there’s something that gives the very apparent green leafy/bush smell - but my wife doesn't pick it up. You ask me? There’s myrtle reminiscent of, for example, Acqua di Sale. Don’t worry, this isn’t salty. In my opinion (you might disagree) you can quite clearly pick a slightly bitter and artificial aroma of ambroxan here, too.

So to summarize: this is a creamy, not gourmand, body balm/sunscreen like aroma of yellow and white florals that in the opening remind me a bit of pineapple for a short time. There’s a green myrtle in the mid and an artificial ambroxan at the base. Far from transparent pina colada and far from a gourmand.

A bit disappointed. Definitely a summer vibe (doesn’t even fit autumn IMHO, I’d only wear it June to end of August), if you call it a unisex? That’s a very far end of unisex leaning feminine. A man? Don’t you dare blind buying it. Performance? Hard to judge. Sits close to my skin 30min after application but leaves whiffs when I move for zaboru 2-3. About 5h of longevity (maybe needs to macerate?)

bucckup

i bought a sample, and maybe it needs to macerate a bit, because it sit really close to the skin for me.
it honestly is a really nice scent, like a photorealistic pina colada made with fresh ingredients instead of a premade mix, but it’s just a little funky to me at the beginning, maybe its the toffee. the funk is slightly less detectable during the dry down.

perseeque

This gave me mixed feelings. It’s very naturally smelling, fruits are very realistic, just like you’re smelling a freshly made smoothie. It’s not overly sweet, not headache inducing etc. But it’s too foodsy for my taste, I wouldn’t use it as perfume as it just don’t give me a perfume feeling. I wish it was more in the direction of Moonlight in heaven which is a masterful composition of fruity and aromatic notes.

Aidafares

I did try this yesterday it’s amazing perfume yes I smell the rise with the first spry in perfumy way it’s amazing and I smell the fruits in fresh airy way afterwards become creamy fruity not heavy not jousy I see it work all year round .
