1270 by Frapin is a Amber Spicy fragrance for women and men. 1270 was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Sidonie Lancesseur. Top notes are Pineapple, Resin, Dried Plum, Cacao, Tonka Bean, Orange and Coffee; middle notes are Dried Fruits, Spices, Hazelnut, Lime (Linden) Blossom and Flowers; base notes are White Honey, Vanilla, Woodsy Notes and Guaiac Wood.

1270 is the year when the Frapin family founded their brand (as said nowadays, they became famous for wine and grapes for wine, later they started their distillery) in the Cognac region in France and production of cognac continued till today. Great-granddaughter to Pierre Frapin, Beatrice Cointreau, created a precious fragrance which touches aromas of cognac basements and the whole environment, nature.

The perfume is created of dried orange, hazelnut, resins, dried plums, cocoa, tonka and coffee in top notes. A heart encompasses vine blossom, linden tree, pepper and spices, while a base brings us precious wood, guaiac wood, white honey and vanilla. The perfume is available as 100ml edp.

Wow, that's boozy. I'd put Rum in as a note. I get that "pirate" vibe along with Gorgeous Coffee, Cacao and vanilla. It truly is a fantastic gourmand, and the closest replacement i've found to my beloved "Paco Rabanne, Pure XS Night. If this had some caramel and less fruits (dried on not) It would probably be as close as it gets.

Too boozy for me (i Hate boozy fragrances), but absolutely a delicious gourmand. I can see this being a winner for date nights and romantic nights with a gf/wife. (Do Not wear for first date. Too risky and too boozy)

Can't say about longevity, as i had to scrub it of after an hour. I couldn't breath (i have long covid). It won't be that bad for most people.

Score: 6/10. If i didn't find it so boozy, it would get an easy 8/10.

@Maya Lilac,

Yesterday I layered Ermenegildo Zegna Florentine Iris and Frapin 1270, to give the later a little more depth and Florentine Iris more sweetness.
It worked.

Maya lilac

Frapin 1270 will be the very first scent I would be buying myself for the next fall. It’s so gourmand, has a subtle, fruity sweetness and feels so cozy and comforting that I can’t believe nobody is talking about it!

That could be because it’s an old release, from 2010, and everyone forgot about it but I just discovered it now, in 2024 and it’s incredibly good…

It’s a gourmand’s lover’s dream type of perfume. Dried fruits, pineapple, honey, plums, cocoa, orange, coffee, hazelnuts, vanilla all smoothly mixed with tonka beans, resins, spices, some flowers and woods! Smells heavenly!!

It’s not similar to anything from my collection, even though my collection features predominantly gourmands.

Frapin it’s a very old French cognac house apparently, that started doing perfumes in 2002. Their current prices for such a scrumptious creations are less, believe it or not, than what designers perfumes cost nowadays!

The only negative aspect of 1270 is its moderate performance. Lasts for 6-7 hours and sits close to the skin. Otherwise, a stunning scent that nobody knows about. Very underrated house. Highly recommend to get a sample if you can and try it for yourself..

Guitar 2016

This is a Nice Scent, Sweet, Fruity and Spicy. I tried it in store and I received a sample of that last week. It opens up with sweet fruity ,floral and spices notes in the background then dry down is sweet vanilla woody. 1270 is suitable for cold weather, In my opinion, It is not Unique and It is a bit boring. Don't blind-buy it, Longevity is Average.

Pineapple is certainly not for me (distinctly reminiscent of vomit in my mind; I think it's the acidity) but it might be for you.

M-as-Marin

I finally got this one about a week ago after testing it a long long time ago via sample. First impressions - Most of the listed notes are undetectable. What I get is a pineapple similar to the one you would find in juice drinks, combined with other "dried" fruits as well. After that, the fragrance gets warmer and goes into the oriental direction. A quite pleasant fragrance with very good longevity but terrible projections as many have said before. If you can get it at discounters, this one's a banger and a hidden gem these days. This one used to be a "hype beast" ten years ago, and no one seems to talk about it anymore which is a shame.

I'll do a full review at scentgrail.com in a couple of months so stay tuned.

Dina France

It's like Heliotrope flower and frozen Plums swimming in Cognac. The Cognac itself is very rich, smells like dried fruits, wooden barrels and sweat-like Tonka). But the smell of alcohol dominates over the sweetness you might expect from the notes. I like it. On a man it could become a seductive weapon.

Josh Andsome Handsome

An excellent scent, with an amazing opening. This is a high class fragrance if there ever was one. The overall performance is less than stellar, but just hammer the trigger a few extra times and let 'er buck baby!!!

MarkoPeeko

Stunning scent.

Like others before me have said, longevity is an issue. For $140 AUD, I was expecting much longer than the 4-5 hour range.

May leave for a while and spray on top of a good moisturiser to see if that does anything.

Dry down is lush. 👌🏻

TheMoon

Definetely feminine leaning to me. Stays closer to skin and disappears very quickly, can’t smell it at all, even the faintest traces, by the end of the day. For these reasons I can’t properly appreciate the scent and explore the different notes, which is a pity.

Klonoa07

This one is really delicious. I want to eat me when I wear this. Perfect for fall totally unisex

montee

What you get is resinous mixed fruits. Looking at the bigger picture this smells like Dots / Motts fruit snacks blended like an amber ladies fragrance. Totally feminine leaning, but can be unisex.

This sits very close to the skin! I agree this does need quite a bit of sprays if you want it to project noticeably...

The smell is refined, but I wouldn't buy a full bottle of this since it slightly resembles cheap sugary/fruity body sprays from the clearance section of Tj Maxx. This would be a great everyday fragrance if it lasted long but this fades too quickly. Disappointing.

PaddyOhFraiche

Big disappointment on this one. It smells very floral and bitter. Leans more feminine also and on fragrancenet it's listed as a female fragrance which I 100% agree on. It's also very weak with no longevity. Such a shame because a well known British youtuber named the fragrance apprentice always puts these in his recommended list. He says he's Scottish but he has a straight up English accent. To me someone from Scotland sounds like Sir Alex Ferguson or anyone from the cast of Trainspotting to where you can't understand wtf they're saying but you can understand him perfectly. Still a great youtuber but I just did not like this at all.

mvddies

Even though this leans more masculine, I really do think this is a good unisex scent. Woody at first, sweet and juicy from the dried fruits and honey on the dry down. Gorgeous spicy vanilla fragrance for winter!

Marcx

This is so in my lane. Amazing scent. Fruity/Sweet a bit transparent but with a nice strong base. Everything I love is in this bottle. Amazing composition. I love how it’s not a “beast mode”. It can be cloying I think if they made it stronger than it is. A little bit of old mix with modern sensibility… I’m a fan. Top 10 for sure in fall/winter. The florals projects out on my skin and also tonka bean gives it more sweet syrup spice… rounded. reminds me of a memory scent not sure where to when… just seems so familiar. It’s so seductive.
8.8/10
Feels like… Havana sundown. just perfection.

amanda0727

Pleasant but has that Bath & Body works apple scented body spray vibe.

Glyph

This is an absolutely gorgeous scent: it's a complexly layered sweet boozy dried fruit accord that is much more than just rum raisin. You can sniff out the honey and the tonka behind the fruits, and there's nice woods underneath that too. It's a rare gourmand that should be sweet enough for those who want that, but ill not induce a diabetic coma.

But the bad news is that it just does not project. There are about five seconds when it opens when you can smell the whole thing, and then it almost immediately becomes much too intimate.

If it were bigger, this would be a must-buy. But it's not worth it, to me, if no one can smell it unless they're sniffing your skin.

Fenissa

This is indeed a beautiful fragrance, but the performance is god awful.
I get moderate longevity and that is being generous. Silage is very intimate.
This fragrance deserves better.
It is currently not worth the price tag of 150 euros.

robbief777

I smell most of the notes listed aside from flowers.
But the three strong notes I smell are Honey, Vanilla and Dried Fruits, in that order.
From memory I would say this is the love child of PDM Goldolphin and Guess 1981 Los Angeles Men, both of which I love. I have all three but haven't done side by sides yet.
Just a heads up, it's very sweet, I love that, but I know a lot of people don't.
I'm prolly the only person that searches for the word "cloying" in the reviews to see if I might be interested in sampling a fragrance.

rosepilar

the smell of this is divine, but as others have pointed out, while it lasts for a moderate length of time, the sillage and projection is almost nonexistent, unfortunately. if that could be improved, this would be a masterpiece.

flem

This smells like a “classic men’s fragrance”. If I didn’t know better I could have believed this was created in the 1800’s. It kind of smells like fruity sweet tree resin, a touch of leather, a bit of tobacco, and the general vibe of an old wooden box. Though, none of it comes off harsh. It’s all pretty gentle, but definitely masculine. Kind of timeless, in an Indiana Jones/rugged adventurer kind of way.

moisesst

Love at first sniff. WOW

sixteencandles

Houdini on a summer holiday in the Caribbean.

I see him oiled up by the pool wearing a sleek pair of black speedos, Pina Colada in one hand and pink cocktail umbrella in the other. Some Elvis track plays in the background. The scent of over-ripe tropical fruit left for too long in afternoon sun lingers on the afternoon breeze. As does the nose sizzling sigh of Crepes Suzette being freshly prepared poolside.

It's magic in a bottle.

Well, for a brief moment anyway.

1270 is an escapist of sorts. For a very short second, the opening notes are "full-on mouth kiss mode". Let's get-it-on with the tour guide. I can't stop spraying. Or salivating. Here, there and everywhere.

The next inhale is something else. It leaves me in sweaty perplex. Nose pressed against wrists and the crevices of my elbow. Where did he go? All traces of 1270, have but all but disappeared.

I am not sure if I should applaud this fragrance for its deft illusionary skills or not.

I fell head-over-heels for 1270 somewhere in the early 2000s. So much so, that I splashed out on a full bottle, from memory alone, earlier this month. Our reunion, sadly, went by the way of most holiday romances. Like meeting up with that tour guide in your home city years later. Completely out of context. And all wrong.

The original 1270 from my memory was so much more punchier and juicy, woodsy and wanderlusting than its 2023 iteration. It was sex-in-a-bottle. An exclamation mark!

Today's 1270 is a solitary question mark.

I guess some things are best left to our imagination.

My recommendation - flirt with 1270 for a juicy moment in the sample size only for five glorious seconds of summer. No regrets.

Apotheosis

Regrettably, I must express my profound disappointment despite my genuine adoration for this fragrance. It possesses all the qualities that could have potentially bestowed upon it the coveted status of my elusive signature scent. Alas, it is marred by two fatal flaws, which the majority of individuals who have acquired this fragrance can attest to: its glaring lack of longevity and projection.

In every other facet, I undeniably deem this fragrance to be a masterpiece. Sidonie Lancesseur, without a doubt, possesses an extraordinary talent for crafting unforgettable fragrances. However, it is disheartening that such a remarkable creation falls short in its endurance and presence, rendering it unable to truly fulfil its potential as a lasting olfactory experience.

While my admiration for this fragrance remains unwavering, it is with a tinge of regret that I acknowledge the limitations imposed by its fleeting nature. Nonetheless, I can only hope that in future iterations, the issues of longevity and projection will be addressed, allowing this otherwise exceptional creation to realise its full splendour and become the enduring masterpiece it was destined to be.

RisingChaos

Sweet hazelnut opening encased in a fruity nougat. Like a partially melted chocolate bar left on a table by a window, but it also has a slight booziness and base woody undertones. The honey in the "nougat" becomes more pronounced as it dries down. Soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 6-8hr.

Arber Cami

I was afraid of all those 'sweet' notes in the fragrance but I was pleasantly suprised. Opens up fruity sweet but dries down to a wonderful : fruity, boozy, woody, not to sweet, spicy fragrance...I absolutely love it and it smells quite unique. After a few hours this smells like a nice linden tea with honey.

Elysiom

Whoa. Where did this come from?

This is... wow. It's a pineapple sweetened boozy spice for me right out of the gate. It has that spicy honey skankiness that the Tauer LADDM cornered the market with. I like the pineapple (surprised about that, but its done well here) but the honey reads more like a mead. That's what it is- MEAD! It smells like a little pineapple juice poured into a spicy mug of mead.

Oh, that drydown just gets better and better too. The 'booze' wears off and all the right notes come forward. A touch of floral, a little spice, all while still being sweet. Yum. I can see why people say this is addictive.

KashaxStella

Smells like an old library to me, just a touch of sweetness.
I have a 1 mL sample if anyone is interested.

Sandile Shongwe

Addicted to this fragrance. Bright, sweet and fruity opening. Very transportive and gets better with each hour. Those wafts are not only pleasant but very intoxicating in the most delicate way.

Fenissa

Beautiful warm, comforting fragrance.
My only gripe is that I wish it packed more of a punch and lasted longer.
It is very enveloping and more suited to colder months.
I mostly get honeyed orange from it, but it's very well blended.
I don't get any of the smoke other reviewers are getting.
Longevity is moderate and silage is intimate unless you over spray it (which you can do, as it is pretty gentle)

lanabroz

Tea with honey.
This is how it smells to me.
It's pleasant, warm, sweet, cosy, comforting fragrance.
It makes me think of a night in a cabane lost in mountains, fireplace, warm clothes and warm and comforting beverage.

Definitely winter/automne sent and safe blind buy for gourmand scents lovers.

It reminds me of Angel Share but little bit better version (for me)

VETTIVAER

I'm very critical of fragrances I review, but this one is just WOW.

I find that the smoke tends to take over and ruins the harmony created by all the other beautiful notes. This is my only criticism.

AriaLennon

Wonderful scent! It begins with a steady candied orange note on a rare charm booze and leather harmony. Smooth woods come in the drydown, together with spices, dried fruits, and vanilla, providing a comforting, reassuring, soothing, and completely captivating effect. A complete release. It comes highly recommended. This is a really enticing and addictive scent!!!

Adjames

So here it is……a beautiful, smooth, boozy, slightly spicy and fruity delicacy. It is quite interesting, unlike the mainstream bombastic, boring, linear Angels Share. I like that one, but it doesn’t have the personality of 1270. I like my scents to be gorgeous, luscious and special, which this is. Love the combination of the fruits, woods and linden. It produces a freshness, but I get no sourness at all! A must try. Perfect for the holidays. Wearing today on Christmas and I look and smell fantastic! I am a fragrance diva, and this is a top 10 for winter. No, it does not scream - it is more subtle, but damn…..it is very, very nice. All sexes, more sophisticated attitudes, and wear it when you feel lucky and festive.

Gatorsrules

This was a simple love for me. Its sour, sweet, and syrupy qualities are magnificent. I will say, projection and longevity could be better, so I overspray. The spicy accords jump out in the heat and revamp the apple and pineapple notes on me! A great warm weather scent!

Comrade Zagoryanskaya

I’ve tested this fragrance before checking the pyramid on this site and got more of an apple than pineapple which stays throughout. For an amber-spicy fragrance it’s too fruity and sour to my taste which was especially annoying when trying this alongside other darker and richer amber fragrances. Also it’s rather quiet and short lived on my skin. I don’t think it’s a poor fragrance, I believe it’s rather interesting and deserves and might have its’ admirers, however it might not live to the expectations of those who like me prefer their amber-spicy indeed spicy, deep and noticeable without any of the fruity sourness.

RawSmells

I'm not sure if it's me or what, but I was so looking forward to this, and the opening is lovely, but then the dry down is kinda linear and is just 'something' sweet. It's not an unattractive smell, but then again, it's nothing like what I expected. I went a bit mad and blind bought 5 different frags at once, this being one, but one I was so looking forward to as it seemed to tick all my boxes, but I can't smell most of the notes above.

The opening is lovely, I can smell the pineapple and I can also detect a boozy smell, which isn't listed above, and the sweetness of honey, which all leads me to believe I'm in for a treat.......then it just dries down to a sweet skin scent :/

I've now sprayed 5-6 sprays on one arm, and no different from my first experience, except it turns just into a skin scent, albeit a gorgeous skin scent, but it really is just that, a very close skin scent at that too. It might be me, so I'm going to give it another go on another day and update this.

Dumbplings

Typical tobacco scent but mixed with sour fruits and raisins?? The sourness does ruin this scent, always thought combining fruits with tobacco is a bad idea it smells like fermented fruit or stale vanilla. Apart from the sourness this is also sickenly sweet from the honey. And actually I don't know how this manages to smell like wine as well.

It's like honeyed tobacco mixed with wine or something boozey...funny I think this reminds me almost of CK one shock or bentley for men intense or maybe even something else I can't quite figure out

dpark

To my nose this is a warm amber scent. It's quite sweet, vaguely fruity, and mildly spice. I also get a bit of powder as well as something like a tobacco note as this dries down.

It's got a slightly syrupy feel that reminds me of D&G The One, or less favorably Azzarro Wanted By Night. I like this better than 1720 Extreme, which I find to come off smelling very "cola". I get the same vibe here but it's more subdued.

Honestly, this smells good, especially in the opening. But it's not something I'd seek out. It's kind of a generic modern "amber gourmand". For someone looking for a well-balanced gourmand, this is probably worth sampling.

KerriZ

I find this scent extremely pleasant. Very subtle and light. Expensive smelling. I don't get pineapple rather more of the honey and dried fruits. Just dabbed so can't speak to longevity will keep you posted on that. Not much on the sillage.
update: 3 hours in and there is still a slight and elegant scent. I really like this perfume. For someone who sprays for their own satisfaction it is quite pleasing.

banksia

The problem is that this fragrance smells great (although a bit sweet and fruity), but has terrible performance. Low silage, moderate longevity.

Verrucosa

This is mostly dried pineapple and candied fruit on me. A little tonka, a little vanilla. Like many people have said, it's not quite as rich or complex as I was expecting but I do really enjoy it for what it is. The relative lightness and brightness makes it very wearable. It reminds me of festive drinks. A wintery fruity sort of fragrance, but something you could easily wear outside of that season too.

agnite

For me, it's a balsamic, berry scent.
It's not very complex, but I really liked it.

Rob321x

Unique and different! Very sexy!

JL2271

Muddled weak mess. The pineapple smelled like it came from a can left out in the heat. Luckily you could barely smell it and even at that only for literally 30 minutes. I’ve heard L’ Humaniste is excellent and I’d still be willing to give that a shot but what a let down this one was. 1.5/5.

Deelecto

I'm not usually one to focus on performance - my skin holds onto scents, and even with a weaker scent, a few hours of personal enjoyment is usually fine for me. But with 1270 it's such a glaring problem with the scent's design that it's hard to focus on the scent itself (which is momentarily quite lovely). Just don't expect more projection or longevity than you'd get from a nice-smelling hand soap.

abbieclark67

Stunning! It begins with a citrusy sweet pineapple and orange note on a boozy and leather accord that has incredible beauty. Smooth woods, spices, dried fruits, and vanilla combine in the drydown to create a comfortable, reassuring, relaxing, and absolutely fascinating effect. This is a very captivating and addictive scent with excellent performance. It smells fantastic! Highly recommended!

betsyglez8

Hazlenut and pineapple is what I get the most
Vanilla wood maybe it’s very soft on my skin
Can’t really detect it will update

Pilikins

I finally got to try this and was very pleasantly surprised. I normally avoid fruity perfumes but love cacao and ambery ones so I was torn about trying this one. I was expecting syrupy candied fruit but there was none of that. I have to say that despite the many notes listed, what I got was a boozy, ambery melange that was quite yummy. I was waiting for a huge headache from the fruits but none came. This gradually became less sweet and more ambery with something slightly masculine about it, but that added to the interest rather than made it a scrubber. I keep getting wafts of it and it is so beautiful, I will have to buy it. I have tried the extreme version but it’s too masculine for me, and that did give me a headache. This perfume has a close sillage and lasts about 6+ hours. Unisex

Cherry_Darling

Agreed with sentiments below that this is not as "rich" as the notes lead you to believe. I actually had this experience with several other Frapins, with all these chewy resinous and fruity strong notes you would expect something a bit more sugary and honeyed. This is a light tropical scent, very fruity, but fairly understated. I could have guessed some mangoes but now that I see the notes definite pineapple. In terms of depth, performance, longevity, this really leaves me wanting more, it's a mere whisper really. Very frustrating at this price, although my sample is a dabber and might feel different sprayed on clothing. I did dab it quite a bit, it's practically gone since I wrote this review. Unimpressive.

shokravee

THANK GOD this is NOT a synthetic syrupy ultra sweet pineapple, yes the opening a is bomb of natural edible pineapple but a few minutes in and u start getting this beautiful aura of warm spices that are sharp as in pepper, not too sweet or sickening, just the right amount. I really liked this better on clothing vs my own skin because i found the spices more elevated on my clothes as compared to skin. This is a very beautiful complex night scent imo, took me a while to appreciate it, don't give up!

Duskfall

A boozy-fruity-woody vanilla. Smells good, but not earth-shatteringly great and unfortunately not as rich as the notes would lead you to believe. I suppose they are aware of the tragic performance because an extreme version has been released. The experience with the "normal" version left such a lukewarm impression that I'm not particularly interested in the extreme either.

Qleen

Omg this is amazing y hasn’t this been cloned or ripped off with better performance, but dam the performance i want more now , I’m Going go try the extreme but if it’s not a better performer I’ll just settle for this and spray 14 times before going out 🥹

lemale83

@ Franklypre, your wish came true..:)

Burtajones

Agree with @Franklypre. I have a bottle and one of the best scents ever made...just has lousy performance and longevity. Definitely a skin intimate scent.

Franklypre

I'd buy a bottle if they made an extreme or extrait version, nice scent just not much power

Dramaloladiva

I’ll be the unpopular comment here but I do not find this pleasing. Perhaps the pineapple or, let’s be honest here, the mesh of all the fruits and resins (and who knows what else) make this fragrance an absolute mess on my skin. It’s jagged, confused and all over the place. It doesn’t have one direction, it doesn’t seem to go one way and I cannot, for the life of me, understand it. If it’s trying to be boozy, it fails. If it’s trying to be woodsy, it fails. If it’s trying to be sweet, it fails...
There you have it, unpopular comment...

For a good boozy/woodsy/sweet fragrance, there’s Rosé All Daé by Gallagher Fragrances that checks all those requirements, a must try in my opinion...

Burtajones

Scent is exceptional! Isn't meant for anything more than date night. The epitome of an intimate/skin scent.

chiragh

boring.. just fruity with higher pineapple vibes !!

thank god i didn't blind buy due to hype

USF

One of the best smells ever to my nose, Unfortunately doesn't last more than 4-5 hour's 👎🏽

melisamiller

This is a beautiful sweet gourmand unisex fragrance. It’s a fruity woody and spicy fragrance. Just doesn’t last a long time on my skin 4-5 hours.

pianomonk

A very pleasing scent that seems present only during the initial spray and to your lover's nose. The smell permeates between the sheets, but outside I only get whiffs of it when there is a strong wind. The longevity is there, but the sillage is very weak. It is a gorgeous scent that I find exceptionally aesthetically pleasing on paper and skin. I would buy this perfume if you only want to have your significant other smell you. It is gorgeous but lacking in pervasiveness.

wmvmen

Beautiful fragrance refomulated or not, the smell is amazing, well blended perfect for winter and spring. Forget the negative comments, this is a work of art.

okamikiera

All I get from this are some slightly boozy fruits that evaporate within 30 minutes. Even accounting for the dabber vial and my room being 65F, that's rather weak. I was more looking for the vivid aroma of a freshly-opened bag of sticky dried prunes or apricots.

KöbiD

1270 caught my attention due to the pineapple note and right after spraying this note is indeed clearly recognizable. The pineapple in this perfume reminds me of the smell of a ripe and freshly cut pineapple. However, within five minutes the pineapple note is gone and 1270 slowly develops into an amber scent. At the final stage of dry down I get a warm amber accord accompanied by a lovely cacao note. 1270 is a really nice amber scent, but if you are expecting a pineapple-centric perfume, you might be disappointed.

PerfumeEmpress

So this gem is another casuaIty of reformulation. Welcome to the era of mediocrity where everything from speech to scents has to be toned down because ... oh, never mind. Thank goodness I have the original formula of this divine scent. I get so many compliments when I wear it. I have about half a bottle and obviously I will have to use it very seldom and for special occasions.

Jdrookie

I just received a decant and it smells like scented water. I sprayed my hand a few times and there is nothing left. I can’t even make out the notes because it’s so soft. Did I get a watered down decant or is this fragrance this weak?

foxy_minxy

Pineapple is a difficult note to get right. It usually comes across as cheap, candy-ish, synthetic. Not here, here it's done beautifully. It's like an expensive pineapple liqueur with cinnamon and raisins soaking inside. Luckily, it doesn't feel boozy or heavy but rather, bright and juicy and rich. This is everything I wanted Ambre Narguile to be, that is, a gourmand to end all gourmands. Well, here it is! All-time top 3 for me.

Kloppo

The most toothpastey fragrance ive smelled. It's like those super sweet toothpastes for kids. Disappointed.

Roozy85

A phenomenal date scent,period

ts4r

this fragrance has been changed, the new formula is a lot fresher and less dense (honey, resiny) than the old formula. Can Fragrantica kindly open a new page for the new formula?

sourbergamot

This is an amazing fragrance. Fruity fragrances are a hit and miss for me. This one is a big time hit. It takes me to the moon.

I wear it year round and notice it performs differently during the seasons. I like that it sits close to the skin. Others point out performance issues and this definitely is not a beast mode fragrance. I don't want this to be beast mode. This is perfect the way it is. Doesn't fill up a room but it gets noticed for those that are pretty close.

FaisalBio

It has serious performance issues!

This fragrance reminds me of the time spent in Christmas at my grand parents place.
They had horses and leather saddles in the garage, we would go for walks in the pine scented fresh air that would then get mixed up with the fireplace smell as well as the cashmeran sweaters and red wine..
Yes, this perfume reminds me of my grands parents place because it’s the exact same smell as their cheap apple toilet spray.

I had my doubts about sampling this one during the height of summer, but wow, glad I got past them- this smells fabulous! Deep resin-y dried fruits with amber- mmmm- Reminds me of Alien Cuir-

WOW
This is a genderless unicorn of fantastic proportions.
Perfect for every season, every occasion, day or night.
Signature Fragrance-Worthy.

The initial spray leans very masculine (almost fougere).
But immediately following, the fruits come out to soften it up and add some incredibly unique freshness.

The dry down is beautiful sweet honey with fresh squeezed pineapple, sprinkled with fresh ground spices and some dry woodiness to round it out.
Words cannot explain but I tried my best.

Even though my list of fragrances I want to purchase is quite long, this has shot straight to the top.
When I purchase it, it shall take it's place on my daily rotation tray with the other crown jewels of my collection.

This was my first fragrance to sample from Frapin so of course, now I need to try their entire line.
Well done Frapin!

I just got this for my son, he loves One million by PR. It was a blind buy as I got it nearly for half price. We both love conjacs a lot. So, I decided that we might like their perfume as well. Luckily for me he loves this one, too. I might wear it occasionally if I am allowed. So, I sprayed it on my wrist yesterday. It's still there after more than twelve hours. I also got some samples from Initio and discovered they layer well with Mystic experience or Addictive vibrations.

Chosen2123

Incense and fruit. Doesn't project at all. Nice fragrance though.

Starcadia

Fun perfume. Tropical, surely, but its edges are smoothed by a heavily perfumy/designer vanilla texture. Has a slight smoky thing to keep it serious. This is an evening fiesta in a bottle, more about sex and fun than sophisticated conversation. Not sure why anyone would wear this in cold months except for nostalgia.

A grown up gourmand... A delicious dark blend of dried fruits, nuts, honey, vanilla and some spices thrown in to boot... This is all layered over a wonderful woody base... I get no resin from this... Raisins yes... Resins no... Beautiful stuff and I think it may be one of the most serious gourmand I've ever owned... I mean gourmands are normally kind of playful... This isn't... This is serious... This is a gourmand that a man could even get away with wearing to a swanky event...

I know a lot of people complain about the longevity of this fragrance but I do not have issues in that category... I get a consistent 10+ hours from this wonderful elixir... BUT... And that's a big but... After the first couple hours it is very close to the skin... For this reason the side of the neck by the base of the ear is a great spot to apply this fragrance... If someone comes in close to talk they will smell it or when embracing someone else but they need to be very close... For me that is not a negative... It's an intimate type of fragrance to me... Dark... Serious...

At the end of an evening of friends and merriment I have been complimented many times with the "Oh you always smell so good" when giving goodbye hugs while wearing this one... Great stuff and I recommend it highly... Still in love with it after many years... And easy 10/10 for me...

Like most everyone else it seems I tested this a bit but avoided a purchase for a long time, because although it smells lovely it barely lasted. Then one day I randomly tested it in a department store in the middle of a hot and humid summer and bam! - there was the opening up, there was the longevity. Sticky, fruity, woody - lasted for hours whereas before it only went minutes. This is the perfume that taught me to not make assumptions about suitable time of year and occasion based on notes. This and Parle Moi de Parfum's Milky Musk - another fragrance often designated autumn/winter - are my two go-tos when it's really hot.

Ralphangel

As a gourmand perfume frag head, and on the incredible youtube fragrance reviews, I went and blind bought this perfume and what a disappointment! This is nothing more than a skin scent that disappears in a matter of minutes. I honestly doused myself in it to try to get a full impression of this fragrance, but nothing works as it really disappears into thin air. Even at the discounted price of 90,00 Euros, which I paid is excessively over priced, as I have bought Zara perfumes which cost 15,00 Euros that out performs this fragrance. As for the scent itself, it smells good with a nice pineapple and dried plum opening with a resinous, spicy, woody drydown. I don't get any of the gourmand notes to my nose, and unfortunately this fragrance is so watered down you can't hardly smell it on yourself to really appreciate it.

My 3 P's

- Price 2/10
- Projection 2/10
- Performance 1/10

liat

The opening is very alluring with the pineapple note. Unfortunately it does not last long. The middle phase is nice but not as addictive and the drydown is merely okay. I like it a lot but it's quite mediocre.

Adjames

I loved this upon first whiff. Earthy and spicy with some green leaves (fresh woods) in the background, sultry fruits and pepper. I got no booze and no butterscotch. I did get some dried fruit, a little pineapple and slight melding of coffee and chocolate, but mainly spice on my skin. Nice. Sexy and inviting and very much cold holiday weather. I am really enjoying my sample from Luckyscent and soon a full bottle will be with me. It’s that good.

I have a feeling when everyone says they smell nothing, it’s because of olfactory fatigue - when I am away from the sample for a few hours, I can smell it through the bag. This needs someone else’s nose to really answer the question.

I do think the arms length silage is only present for a couple of hours, then it becomes a skin scent for at least 4 more hours. This is a fragrance that requires lots of moisturizer, and yes, spray it on your ears.

This does remind me of a less strong, smoother, elegant and more fruity Angel - not sure what it is. I get a patchouli feel but it isn’t listed in the notes. It is much better...smoother.

Edit: I bought a full bottle as opposed to using the small pull out plug sample. I must say, using a fresh bottle of oils has helped with the silage and projection. I think the various oils from dried fruits, cognac and hazelnuts, etc. are very unique and fine and probably very fragile, so that the fragrance is very concentrated when freshly bottled. Perhaps moving from spray to samples produced some evaporation or settling of the ingredients. I am just confirming that I get more notes appearing now that did not in the sample, such as cognac. I am so glad because I love this fragrance. It has lasted significantly longer when sprayed.

LeesaLalure

Although I did sample this prior to purchasing a fb I cannot recommend based solely on the fact there is little to no sillage. Zero. I doused myself with the juice and 2 minutes later I cannot smell anything. With my noses pressed onto skin, nothing. Not worth the $$$

Alejandrogomezbri

This is a VERY captivating and Addictive Scent!!!

I've been wearing this Fragrance for a couple of weeks now and I'm prepared to share with you all my thoughts and conclusions about it.

1270 for me Smells like a bowl made of Wood and Amber Filled with fresh, Sweeeet and Juicy (hyper realistic) Pineapple, Juicy and Sweet Plum, with a big dose of Honey on top.

Then, when it dries down I can pick up a pinch of spices mixed with creamy and mouth watering vanilla and a woody undertone.

It's a very Unique, complex and different kind of Scent while being very appealing and wearable.

This Fragrance is very balanced regarding the user, I can smell this on a man or a woman in Social or important events. Also it can be used on a date during Spring, Fall and Winter, day and Night.

Regarding performance, this Fragrance lasts for about 8 to 9 hours on my skin with a soft Sillage and protects a little bit more when you do some physical activity.

Overall experience, presentation, quality, development and performance, this is Full bottle Worthy for Collectors.

The scent could be lightly compared to DG the One. Yet its a bit more sweet, perhaps with caramel/and a tiny sweet boozy smell. A lovely scent, but for the price it doesn't perform to well, although smells amazing, classy and subtly confident. Projection on two sprays is maybe 2-3 inches. I just sprayed it on my hands as I am typing and I can not smell it.

Vickalicious

I LOVED the original Frapin 1270, and I like the 2010 reissue by a new perfumer. Although, I wish they would bring the strength and booziness of the original back. Although the description has the launch date of Frapin 1270 as 2010, it actually came out in 2002, in the round bottle (you can see it in the photos). The notes of the original were: exotic woods, spice, raisin, vine flowers, pepper, candied orange, nut, hazelnut, prune, cocoa, coffee, leather, woods, white honey, vanilla.

The opening of the reformulation is quite different and includes a very prominent, newly added pineapple note. The mid and dry-down are reminiscent of the original, although it is a bit more gourmand now. The lasting power of this is not good at all, nor is the projection. I have to overspray and I get about 4 hours. They really watered this down, it's incredibly weak now.

> Smelled this today.

> Loved it

> Came to Fragrantica to check notes--> people saying its a winter perfume.
It isn't!

> Perfumer: Sidonie Lancesseur.

Of course! Another show stopper by Sidonie. Will need to test it more

by the way, all Frapin have this "happy" and bright vibe to them. Not sure how to describe it...

Sidonie is way ahead of her time.

My Sweetest Holiday Weakness (Sidonie Lancesseur, 2008)

Scentrack: Serge Gainsbourg – I Want To Feel Crazy

1270 opens with a beautiful blast of pineapple and various dried fruits, plums and orange peel mostly. The honey accord is strong from the beginning. Behind this honey and fruity forefront is the entire olfactory universe of sweet caramel, coffee, burnt hazelnuts, Proustian linden blosson... The woodiness of pale Guaiac and sandal is well hidden, by give the necessary oaky note to the fruity heaven. 1270 is an extraordinary reinterpretation of boozy Cognac theme. It is sweet, but not cloying. A perfect gourmand for the Christmas period of the year.
It has occupied my heart and mind in three shots:

Shot No. 1
Ambre Russe was ready to accompany me on the cold, foggy streets of Zagreb, and finally leave the perfume shop. But the perfume Gods have changed the plan. I met 1270 for the first time. Love at first sniff... I was under the spell. The smell of an old town apartment. Winter, cognac, armchair, housecoat. Russian amber just had to wait.

Shot No. 2
A cold, sunny December day. No wind. I’m standing in the black coat with dark sunglasses, drinking coffee and watching the sea moveing like liquid gold. Similar to Tarkovsky's Solyaris. 1270 mixed with the smell of coffee. I sensed the illusion of time. Like an atmosphere of Dubrovnik-born Vojnović's drama "Dusk". The moment of introspection. The quartz purity of mind.

Shot No. 3
Christmas party with my friends in one bar. Happiness is everywhere. 1270 was perfectly melted with alcohol fumes of my glass. Life is good and nose saturated.

Thank you Frapin and Mrs. Lanceusser for releasing such a beauty.

TERRIBLY UNBELIEVABLY WEAK! SPRAYED 6 times on my wrist and can hardly smell it! from what i can smell though is amazing! this has the makings of a MASTERPIECE!! its like water!!!! very fustrating! how can a house or perfumer release a fragrance that is so so weak!!!! weakest fragrance i have ever tried! such a shame

vergil_s

Believe me if I had 3 wish from my own Gene I would wish that performance and longevity of this masterpiece improve a way better than this!! I wanna when I wear this one,the smell of this scent capture all atmosphere and dominate whole space. So it's really sad that this beauty has moderate performance.
Now the smell : It is incredibly gorgeous and pleasant. It is warm, cozy, gourmand, boozy and fruity fragrance in base of woody notes. you can smell all ingredient that are listed in notes; combination of fresh and dried fruits with bunch of sweet notes make this perfume very delicious also still wearable and seductive. everything is perfect and balance. I really love pineapple note in opening of this perfume, very unique and sexy and to me smell a bit boozy although there is no boozy note in it. Overall this perfume beside its weak projection is a must have to all gourmand lovers and you can enjoy this one even in a bedtime ;) because after an hour it smell near your skin and your partner is the only one who could enjoy this.

strongerwithglue

A pleasant, warm, fruity scent. I'll say it has potential, but not worth the price for me. Low projection, and it feels incomplete. Like it needs something with a bit more contrast in the base to support all that deliciousness in the top. It ends up smelling a bit flat, like a bargain fragrance, and when the drydown comes, it's incredibly dull.

dcjimr

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. But zero sillage. I can't smell this unless I'm an inch away from my arm and it totally disappears after an hour. Such a shame because I'm totally in love with this scent.

Flame Maiden

I had sprays on my skin and on a card and it was love at first sniff for me.
I can't add anymore than what is already here. It is $229 in Australia and for that kind of money, it does not have the sillage I would like for people to smell it on me.
In saying that, it is as close to perfection for me that I've ever encountered. I will buy it one day.

shushkin

This is quite a yummy scent. A resinous gourmand on me. Not very potent though.
I get the fruit, booze, nuttiness and woods with a touch of cocoa. There's a bit of everything in here bar the kitchen sink. Thankfully it's all very well blended and is amazingly not cloying. Not too sweet.
It definitely needs the warmth of your skin to come alive. Not much sillage.
The pineapple and fruit are most noticeable at the start but they wain and then it's more about booze, resin, nuts and woods.
I can see why this scent went through a time of great popularity. The IT scent.
I would have gone fb but the longevity is average at a stretch and the sillage isn't good.

Singabera

It's so quiet, which was surprising, taking into account quite "loud" notes like resins, wood and honey.
I almost have to sniff intensively to feel it.
And it lasts really not long, couple of hours max.
It didn't meet my expectation, it lacks intensity and character in my opinion..

GRAF

This is the best scent by far from Frapin house that I've tried imo. It may be a fb worthing so I'll give it a try again.

All I get is a wonderful scent with dominant dry fruit note, resins, honey, dried plum and pineapple. With that order. It has some sweetness but it's not overly sweet. There is also noticeable orange, soft cacao & vanilla. This is not a gourmand as some say. The smell is not edible but absolutely beautiful.

As many scents of this house it has limited performance. Projection is low-moderate. I don't want to comment about longevity yet but from the first try it seems it's high-moderate. Beautiful scent for mild weather, spring, fall, cool summer days, totally unisex.

Bubbles1964

I admire Frapin 1270 but I don't love it. Something about the mix of gourmand and boozy notes reminds me of being in a kitchen during the holidays.

A melange of scents that based off the pyramid should be something I love, but instead it's only a like from me. Weak longevity with no projection on me. Totally wearable and unisex. But it is still a pass.

andrewluck1990

This smells wonderful- sweet, warm and fruity. It would be the perfect winter fragrance if not for the horrible performance. I can’t justify $229 for one that can only be smelled if someone literally smells your skin. Why can’t companies just make colognes with decent performance? Paying $200+, you shouldn’t have to worry whether your cologne will last the day or can actually be smelled by someone standing 2 metres away.

rbalkris

A breathtakingly gorgeous spice gourmand that is bright, transportative and so therapeutic. The opening has boozy dried fruits, cocoa and coffee notes and as it settles the spices begin to emerge highlighted by an understated pepper. Finally upon settling, one detects woody notes (including oud), honey and vanilla. This is an expertly blended composition much like many others in the eclectic Frapin line but it still remains very classy and understated and oh so elegant. Moderate in sillage/projection/longevity and many sprays may be needed. An absolutely enchanting composition. Enjoy!

GodKing

I'll just ditto what peppermoon mentioned below because this pretty much captures my sentiments about this fragrance. To me, Frapin 1270 would be a really great fragrance if it weren't for less-than-stellar performance and that dried fruits accord mucking things up a bit. Still, it's a nice scent that worth taking a sniff...just not quite for me.

peppermoon

Starts out rich boozy fruits, with pineapple at the front. The fruits are supported by nutty, woody, spicy (pepper!) notes - dry cacao / coffee. A bit of honey.

Nutty coffee floral heart with candied orange. Oud pops up in the drydown but its sourness just feels like the coffee note has turned to stale coffee - I could have done without the oud.

1270 is unisex - it feels like a rich woman's gourmand layered over a woody/spicy men's cologne. It reminds me of a softer, more soft focus version of Serge Lutens' oriental scents. Overall, I really like it but there's something keeping it from being a love.

trabuquera

A fine old French melange - I can see why it's a bestseller, even though the recipe's too gourmand for my taste overall.

Leads with a startlingly fresh and lusciously juicy smack of pineapple and plum (and more plum! and a bit more plum!) at first, then modulating with extraordinary smoothness into gentle general sweet aromatic territory. Very very *very* well blended - look at the notes and you might think it is overpowering or clashy, but it never is.

I usually run away fast from fruity or oversweet stuff, but this is mellow and nuanced enough to keep me sniffing and enjoying for hours. The coffee doesn't go bitter, the honey doesn't smell of wee, even the linden blossom behaves itself. So it masterfully swerves so many of the things which could go wrong. But it just doesn't seduce me completely, either - I think I need more spice, or one individual ingredient to stand out more, to make this more distinctive. It's so very highly cultured and controlled that it sort of cancels itself out on me. But really admirable work ... and if you're after a deep mellow spicy plum in particular, this one's a plum pick.

Stephen patton

This is very fustrating to me, but now and then I will spray a fragrance and for whatever reason all I smell is an extremely linear soft scent which i can't make any notes out at all and this is one of them! Notes sound awesome as well and I love orchid man! Stuff this! 0/10

AprilSea

I got it from a friend who had a love-hate relationship with it. It gave her headaches. I smelled it and just felt we can be friends.
Although it first hits as an old and gourmand perfume, it is fresh and modern. It goes well daytime in the office - I must confess I wouldn't have thought when smelled in the bottle, and I used it very carefully at the beginning. It may seem sweet, maybe clogging, the kind to stay on your skin forever.
I wish it was the case. It ended up in my purse, I use it in the office with no worry. I can spray it again during daytime - I get compliments, no complains.
I wish it hanged around more. I wish it had a bit of trail. I wish people ask what perfume is it? I wish people be in awe. But darn, as wonderful as it is, it stays put, not wating to be discovered. What a pity.
It is the chocolate / brandy / tobacco / dried fruits / lots of wood combination that knocks my socks off. But is not a male perfume. It is for a woman who can ride it - as the friend who first owned it said when selling it to me. I can, but at times even 1270 seems little.

Later edit: it is summer. Main notes are oud and cognac. It can be worn in summer, it only needs a soft breeze to start the show - if only would last longer.

WildDove

Frapin 1270 gives an impression of smoky light amber, fruits, and dried leaves. I get an image of walking in a rural setting, kicking up fallen leaves on an autumn afternoon, with a bit of fireplace smoke in the air. 1270 stays close to the body.

sweethon

entering some cafe filled with elegant people and the smell of Pineapple, honey, cacao, coffee are mingling in the air.....(نوعا ما مقارب لعطر this is not a blue bottleبسبب البرتقال والعسل لكن سويت اكثرررر وفواكهي ومن غير الياسمين)

Chris3Hs

The notes look far better than this scent actually is. In the top, all I smelt was coffee mixed with a slight, indiscernible sweetness. After about an hour, this dries down to just be a slightly sweet, generic fragrance. You aren't missing out on anything if you never smell this in your life.

Smell: 4/10
Performance: 2/10
Price/value: 1/10 (because they are nice bottles)

serchina

Is this reformulated? I tried it in a shop a while ago and it smelled like too much pineapple. This note was really dominating through every stage of the development. Now, I am trying my old sample and smell barely pineapple. Actually I love this sample. I love the balanced comination of the notes on it. I get a lot of plum, honey, cogniac, tobacco, cacao, coffee, vanilla and more dried fruits than pineapple.. so, any idea?

Tigerlillian

Mega pineapple nectar! This is really juicy and sweet to open, almost cloyingly so. As 1270 warms, the earthy facets of honey start to surface and make this juice even thicker.

A little birch and some indistinguishable wood notes diffuse the sweetness just a little, adding some cozy smoke. Here it releases an boozy, fruity accord, rich and plummy, dark and ambrosial accented with honeyed floralcy.

The scent then becomes a little balmy, a hint waxy. Here I detect a soft nuttiness and tannins that are really pleasant. This here is the best part and I get that in the whole evolution of Pierre Guillaume's Aomassai.

Personally, this is a little too fruity for me; objectively, this is an exceptional gourmand fragrance.

desdemona7

Very nice! Brings to mind a "feminine" Aventus.

mark49s

Honey and Pineapple certainly take center stage here, which, along with the candied fruits result in an almost sickly sweet opening. As this dies down, the honey becomes very powdery, which is not unpleasant. Would be perfect for Autumn/Winter. Lasts approximately 4 hours or so on the skin (12+ on fabric) with moderate sillage.

lemale83

Woww, one of the best opening. You will get a beautiful realistic boozy pinapple note. I only wish if this pinapple note last through out the dry down. In the dry down you mostly get honey and dried fruits, and touch of cocoa and vanilla as well. Dry down is nice for sure, but doesn't do an enough justice to the beautiful opening. Unfortunately the performance is kinda weak, 3 to 4 sprays will get you 5 to 6 hours maximum. Projection is good for first 2 hours, then become close to skin. And I don't agree with some of the people saying this is outdated or old smell, definitely not on my skin. I would say it's a safe blind buy if you know what you are looking for.

gtabasso

I can't believe more people can't smell the florals in the top. This goes on a very very sweet candied gourmand fragrance with some floral notes. As it dries down the wood notes and vanilla become prominent in a powdery sweet patchouli. I am shocked there isn't patch in this. It is there. Again, I can't believe more people don't rate the wood notes higher. This is NOT a pineapple, plum, fruit scent. They are there sweetening it but it's really about the honey, wood and vanilla.

fromthebayandaroundtheway

Frapin 1270 is winter coziness in a bottle. The opening of 1270 is very inviting and very gourmandish, with honey, pineapple and cacao figuring strongly in the mix. As the opening of 1270 mellows out a bit, the florals and dried fruit peek out giving the scent more complexity. It is in the mid notes you realize that this fragrance is more than just a boozy fruity melange. 1270 then warms up with the guaiac wood, as well as the other woody elements to give the scent a bit of needed muscle. When these aforementioned notes are mixed with the resin note 1720, much like Hermes' Ambre Narguile gives off an almost tobacco effect (In my opinion) which really creates a rich aura around this scent and adding to it another layer of sweetness (earthy sweetness). In the base of this scent we are left with a lovely coffee, vanilla and hazelnut mix which is very sweet and relaxing. Frapin has created a lovely winter warmer here, which I think works for both sexes. The only draw back for me with this scent is the projection, which can be remedied with a few more sprays and definitely sprays to clothing as well. With Frapin 1270 think evening time, this scent is lovely when moving from the cold night air into a warm home. 1270 is that festive party scent, or for evening gatherings during the holidays. This fragrance needs to be worn with a nice cable knit sweater while you catch up with friends or family over sips of something warm, that came from an oak aged barrel.

sergie.allen

I,ve smelled it before...it,s amazing delicious gourmandy but it does not project more than 2 hours but it,s 6 hours to 7 of longlasting it,s an amazing perfection...but i love pure malt abit better..... pure malt is a freaking outstanding delicious smokey caramel chocolade fruty whiskey type of smell

landshark321

Frapin 1270 is agreeable and pleasant, and, if cheaper, one I'd gravitate toward but it suffers from being a little uninspiring.

Don't get me wrong---I like its sweetness, a mix of honeyed nuts, cocoa, and seemingly a variety of fruit---but its performance is just so limited. As it dries down into a bed of woods and leather, it becomes a little bit less of a sweet gourmand and more of a balanced fragrance that, while still much like fruity baked goods, nonetheless comes back to a more familiar place with some traditional cold weather elements.

Its inspiration is cognac, and I have to say upon first wearing that it doesn't strike me as especially boozy but far more of the sweet and fruity mix. The opening was more akin to Profumum Acqua e Zucchero (sweet, fruity water) and the dry down is more like a sweet tobacco/incense.

I like a bit, but it's difficult to enjoy a lot in colder weather when it doesn't project.

I agree with others on the performance of this, it's not great, but I only have a small sample vial. I'm going to transfer to an automizer and see if that helps any. If that improves longevity I will be looking to purchase a FB. I'm not usually into sweet, gourmand type fragrances, but this is on another level. The opening is like a pineapple flavored liquor, once that tones down, the plum comes along side the pineapple, then comes the cocoa, honey, dried fruits and vanilla. The coffee note makes a very subtle and brief appearance, before it's drown out by the other notes. There are definitely some resins and spices in here, but what kind, I cannot say. This is so warm and yummy, if you like sweet gourmands you need to at least sample this!!!

Edit: I finally found a FB at a price that I was willing to pay for something with such poor performance. I love the fragrance, but the performance is just awful; it wears more like a body spray than an edp (tbh I have body sprays with better performance).

hossein_gi

another good perfume from my favorite perfumer.Sidonie Lancesseur.
scent:immediately i sniff that i love it.mix of pineapple and honey that make it little boozy and no change untill in basenote add some cacao. i'm crazy about the scent and because of very good price(less 100$)i bought it momentarily.you can't find any person who say i don't like it.
longevity: i don't know why somebody say longevity is less than 3 hour???every niche perfume i've smelled in my life last more than 6 hour even this one. maybe they mean sillage not last longing!!this one last on my shirt about 12 hours easily.
sillage:the only problem that make me sad about this Gem is here. with 8 sprays i've got only 2 hour sillage and after that it's down on my skin.really sad.
i give it 8/10 only because of bad sillage.

This reminds me Burp after eating butter scotch Ice-cream, In my life time this the fragrance made me smile and raise eyebrow with loud WOW… Remarkable Fragrance,
Caution: I used 2 bottles do not get confused here i have done much study asking every tom dick n harry when i wore this fragrance THIS PERFUME LASTS LONG TIME AND PROJECTS AS WELL…in fact on my blazer it lasted almost weeks so plz It is something to do with Olfactory disfunction (normal inability to distinguish a particular NOTE after a prolonged exposure to that airborne compound.) People can smell this around for hours n hours.

At first, the smell of pineapple is very natural. The changes in the top notes of this perfume are very interesting. In the first quarter of the perfume's life, the pineapple is very moldy. After about 5 minutes; First cocoa and then coffee appear. After that, it is the turn of the orange. Cacao and coffee have a very short life span in this top note, maybe up to 5 minutes. Then they become weak, and orange appears. In this case, the noticeable smell of pineapple, which was present at the beginning of the perfume spray, was reduced; With the arrival of orange, it shows itself again.

Absolutely glorious sweet delicious perfume!!! I fell in love on the instant I first put it on (I always blind-buy. I love the thrill of discovery! And the riskiness!!! So far I've had about 90% success rate!!!), and have stayed totally in love ever since!!! It's the most gorgeous, sweet, fruity, woody, warmly spicy and balsamic perfume I've ever known! I adore it! So delicious and yummy. I can't get enough of it. Definitely could eat it!! And my family could too - they love me wearing it!!
It lasts so well too - god! I put it on first thing (around 5am) and it's still lovely and rich and strong at 3pm, and then just subsides a little, and really truly stays close to me for hours and hours after that. It's fabulous!!!! I feel deliriously happy when I smell it, and on my clothes it's divine!!!

This scent was a game changer for me. I was new to the niche world and this was recommended to me by Naz at the Perfume Shoppe in Vancouver. I was not a gourmand fan at the time (how that has changed!) and took a risk, buying a full bottle. Wow! My mind was blown! This is a luscious scent that is reminescent of pineapple upsidedown cake together with a boozy accord. It is my go to scent for comfort. I wear it all year round and its performance is not beast mode but is certainly adequate. When I wear this, I get remarks all the time; usually comments to the effect of what are you wearing - it smells amazing and unique. I have to agree. I now am almost done my bottle and will be purchasing another.

m10m10

Beautiful fragrance... This is a unique one. Many have mentioned boozy, this is the booziest fragrance i ever encountered. Once I got some Jack Daniels on my fingers and upon drying, it smells like some fragrance I've got my nose on my nose before... before it dawned on me, 1270! Smells like good ol' aged booze in a barrel.

Major issue is its performance... below average longevity, projects decently during its lifespan lol.

sweetsmellingmama

Very elegant, sophisticated. Reminds me of some type of cognac/whiskey with hints of pipe smoke.

sheynose

Nice smell but way to weak. I expect a lot more for the hefty price this house is asking.

aqua_de_la_vita

This is definitely a different frag's, I first came across this juice at a boutique and I wasn't sure at first spray. After leaving the store and wearing it all day, I started to enjoy this fragrance. At first sniff it has a strong medicine vib. It only lasts for a few minutes, afterwards I pick up a boozy/sweet scent from honey and plum. I also smell a dry woody base and resin later throughout the day. The sweetness is always present.
Longevity and Silage is very good lasting at least 6hrs
What I enjoy about this juice is that this juice goes through different stages..starting with strong sweet creamy vib. After it takes on a real attractive woodsy/spicy aroma. Finally this juice has a real woodsy-spicy-oriental aroma with a powdery vib. I would use it during the fall and winter months up to mid spring.... 8/10 try before buying, it all depends on your body chemistry.

JEDI 2.0

WOW i didn't realize I had any of this left! Wore it for the first time in, I dunno, 7 or 8 months.

Immediately I get a fruity, vanilla-boozy, woody scent. The vanilla is pretty prevalent from start to finish; even though it's a base note, i feel it right away, and it's IMO the last note to dissipate. The fruits, also, i smell from start to finish. --About the fruits, I don't necessarily get pineapple exactly, but I DO get a tart "mixed dried fruit and berries" kind of vibe. The woody notes are dry, subtle and they come & go, and are among the first notes to fully vanish many hours later.

Interesting stuff. Very unique, still haven't come across anything like it. My tastes have changed since I first wore this, and I'm not likely going to order any more of it. Instead, I should try other Frapins. I'll still give this 8/10 it's a solid performer and definitely unique. I notice it all day, and can stick to certain clothing indefinitely.

najgirl

Pleasant, but barely detectable on my skin. So undetectable, I can hardly make out the notes. This one is more like a Molton Brown hand wash than a pricey perfume. I smell only a hint of citrus and fruit, nothing special, just ok.

steve1991

Smell? Amazing
Performance? Abyssmal.

What about 1270 Frapin?! I do not even know, but I'll try. Heck, that singular fragrance and original quality! All I wanted to try to compare it would be a futile attempt to approach the excellence which she is so "sui generis". Most fragrances are created by Frapin "shareable", to their way, but they are; with liqueur funds, sweetened and sometimes resinous too. 1270 is a spicy fragrance sweet that punge every move made and warms every minute that evolves, example of this is its plum syrup output with Tonka hyper-resinous heated in a coffee pot to 100 ° C with some live citrus touches thriving this combination is so unique that nothing comes to be compared to such openness and at the same time loves to holding their attention, causing him to stop and enjoy every moment of this phase. In the notes half it becomes more oriental, because the spices are shown, and it seems that they are being marketed under a scorching sun exuding an impressive speed, you can also feel some Hazelnuts being peeled and relatively floral accents interwoven spices and They make 1270 Frapim a stout fragrance. At the base, it behaves sparingly presenting woody touches quite mild, and sweet is perhaps the audacious combination of honey and an overwhelming Vanilla, rough, crude and manly, printing a alteroso aspect to the fragrance and making an end of the greatest shows, the line "oriental gourmand", which could already witness on my skin, I attribute all this originality that it can sustain from start to finish. Contrary to say, fixed and projects beyond 7 h quietly, at least for me. Fragrance androgynous ALL senses; perhaps a male-alpha did not feel comfortable to wear 1270 Frapin. That's all I tried.

Word of the day: exclusivity... (day 41)

"kor987"

Right off the top, I get predominately a sweet boozy pineapple. After about an hour or so the freshness from the pineapple fades but still remains as an undertone while the coffee, honey, cocoa and spices start to really shine. It doesn't change much after the initial blast of pineapple but still remains complex enough to be interesting. This will be one of my favorites for late summer and fall. It projects moderately and lasts about 5-6 hours before it becomes a skin scent.
Smell-9/10
Projection-6/10
Longevity-7/10
Overall-8/10
Everything is perfect besides the performance, which still isn't terrible. I would definitely recommend trying.

Hey guys, we all here to share our opinion about perfumes. The other reviews are out of the topic! Please do not ruin the atmosphere by these kinds of reviews!! It is needed to mention that all the people who share their opinion can not write their reviews in English very well because they are from other countries (Like me). So they have a very limited vocabulary option or It is hard for them to write a complete review.

brent0529

Someone sell me a bottle of this, or maybe 10ml.

Avian

Woody, resinous, spicy fruits. Unique but likable, which seems to be a rarity now. I find it to be soft but not weak. A must try for anyone who likes to sniff off the beaten path, but who is wary of getting lost in the depths of a dark forest.

---

As I sit here typing, one spray on my forearm gently wraps me in a cocoon of scent reminiscent of tropical paradise in the evening. Is it a room filler? No, not at all. But perfect for wearing out an about almost any time, since you should leave a light trail, and won't knock anyone out.

DHIguy99

It's a damn shame this is so weak on my skin because this is a true gem. I get about 5 hours longevity but it projects for less than 1 hour. I was starting to really like this one a lot. I have about 15 ml left in my bottle but don't know if I will repurchase. If I had 6-8 longevity and a good 2.5-3 hours of projection this would be a no brainier. Believe it or not I wear this in the warmer months. Beautiful but weak. Price is a little steep as well but if it could get everything I asked for a second ago, no hesitations whatsoever.
7.5/10

Krasnylips

It opens up with exotic ripe fruit note, then a little bit of spice comes out. A very muted scent so it us hard to hear it.

becuille

Very nice, but the sillage is far too soft. It's difficult to smell it at times.

It opens with pineapple and spices. It's a contradiction, but it works. I feel like pineapple is tropical and sunny, but here, paired with resins and spices (mostly pepper and I think cardamon) it becomes something darker that adds a richness.

There's a lovely whiff of tonka and hazlenut that soften things somewhat. Then the dry down becomes a soft oud and vanilla. Can't say I notice the honey.

Really, really nice, but so hard to smell I'm not sure if it's worth a full bottle.

Saaga

I sprayed a sample on and all I can really say it's nice and sweet but I can hardly smell it!! A bit disappointing.

DR521

Now that the rich creamy orange top note has been thinned out I don't like it as much. It's a bit greener, spicier and less cohesive than original, although still nice if you spray liberally. Two sprays equal the old one. More like a masculine designer department store frag though, and not as sexy. For $100 maybe but at $195 not worth the niche price.

the_badger

Sidonie Lancesseur! I see her name everywhere on every fragrance that catches my attention: By Kilian's S2H, Incense Oud, L'humaniste and now this one as well?

brent0529

For some reason the fruit in this makes me think of raisins and sweet booze. I love it.

JEDI 2.0

Just purchased a small decant from a friend, and I'm delighted by this stuff.

Spicy and sweet, it smells good enough to drink. The spices in this honestly made me think of Spicebomb, but when i compared them side-by-side, they're different but there IS a nagging spice-note or combo of notes that remind me of each other. Even as I sit here smelling both, they're "kinda the same, but way different".

I'm digging this fragrance. It was a blind-buy based on the note pyramid and just how cool the bottle and liquid looks =) I'm pleased. You could almost tell people it was made in 1270, has been meticulously stored and they might believe you, it really does have a rustic vintage, or even antique vibe to it. 8/10 for me.

*edit: Warm vanilla base lasted about 20 hours for me. It was a completely different fragrance at that point, but was still straining to be noticed. VERY nice, I'm giving it 8.5/10 .

weaselize

instantly reminded me of back to black but without the powder cutesy. A heavily sweet scent. A cold weather scent. The thing i don,t like about it is that it dances on the border of smelling like fermented fruit.
I think this is better suited for a woman. This was launched one year after back to black and the perfumer of this works together with the perfumer who made back to black in the same house. Coincidental?
Ok but not for me

thegreat787

I must say this one is good one, right after I applied I can smell nice blend of honey, flowery, fruity and light coco.
I am not big fan of sweet, fruity frag, this one change my mind since this is not a too havy on sweet.. I will use perfect balance of blends.
I think In winter going to be great. I am placing on my buying list. So far about 3 hours.. performing well.

My score 8.5/10.

sum888er

awful scent. I washed it away 10 minutes after application.

svetlana.kogan.73

The orange note creates a striking beginning which is not typically my cup of tea, but Frapin's 1270 evolves almost instantly into a sweet and boozy scent, which warms up on the skin to a honey-infused, resinous potion. I also somehow catch the traces of green moss. This would be a great fragrance to cozy up to in the coldest of the winters. It is intoxicating and celebrates joie de vivre.
P.S. This indeed smells to me as mostly for women and yes, I agree there is plenty of pineapple in it.

Comandosav

not sure about this one, first impression was very good but as time went on i realised the opening was too sweetly fruity, and it slightly reminds me of a womans fragrance.

i like the boozy plummy-pineapple opening(like a more feminine michael kors for men).I didnt get much honey in this one.
unfortunatley for me it was almost nauseating and is not something that i think i could fall in love with.

the mid is way more balanced, less sickly and sweet and i start to enjoy it a bit more though till feels a bit "light" or feminine for my liking

the drydown i liked better, chocolaty notes start to come in and make this more of a gourmand, while the pinapple is still there im getting coffee beans and probably the cacao ad hazelnut aswell though not as much as coffee. this is about 4 hours in. It reminded me a little bit of the choco musk by al rehab/chocolate greedy by montale and maybe even a little bit of the A*men drydown.

This scent is like flowing through a whiskey gallery in Paris with 2 halls. one has pineapples darted around and a few berries/plums here and there: the other is where the whiskey is kept. The smells of these two are molded but also separate. This is a clean place, not old and decrepit at all but rather clean and looked after, the smell is light. After walking for a while the two halls merge and you recieve the smell of the two equally. just before you leave, you go to the drinking/desert hall for a few hours where you are served a light whiskey from before mixed with pineapple(which the waiter claims is a secret recipe from medieval times: year 1270), and eat a coffee-cacao mousse desert with a soft creamy biscuit base.

to conclude, i do like 1270 frapin, and i can see many people absolutely loving it, but not for me.It gets better as time goes on like aging whiskey.

performance is ok, to me the projection was never good even from the first hour i seemingly had to wave my hand to smell it however a few hours after wearing it my father said he could smell a fragrance, that might have been because i was mostly in the same room for the portion of my wearing.

Longevity is about 6-8 hours id say.

compliment factor for women: i could see the older generations (30+) enjoying this scent but i believe it is also pleasant to those in their twenties aswell.
compliments for men: probably best in the 25+ range

Thanks for reading

Very similar to What We Do In Paris Is Secret except this has pineapple and plum instead of litchi. Both being unisex but this leaning a bit more in the feminine direction. The fruity notes blended on a bed of gourmand and woody notes is superb. It's a scent that you pretty much can't dislike. Very enjoyable even as it sits close to the skin. If I had to choose one it would the Lab On Fire because it has better performance.

Lana148

Pineapple, honey, cacao, hazelnut. I even smell patchouli, although not listed. Fun, easy, light fragrance. Nothing too sweet and sticky like gourmands sometimes can get, it actually smells a little salty for me.

RhiannonB

I've heard a lot about this famous niche perfume so thought I should try it. This is basically a solely pineapple scent on me. It's strange that pineapple isn't a listed note but it's widely accepted as one by the community and is one of the main notes according to Fragrantica. It's light, refreshing and uplifting.

Other fruity aspects come into it and, although the fruity notes are listed as dried, smell wet and fresh. It has some cologne and booze aspects to it. It smells like something a rich person, of any gender, would wear on a cruise ship through exotic islands whilst drinking a cocktail on a hammock. As it dries down it becomes darker with a touch of cocoa, coffee, pepper and spices. At this point it leans a tad more masculine.

It walks a fine line between sweet and sour. It's classy and well blended. An hour or so further into the dry down it becomes woody and honeyed with the pineapple still being king. I get very little, if any, vanilla. It's a very fascinating soft fruity oriental.

At times 1270 actually begins to make my stomach curl - the scent becomes off-putting to me for some reason. Sillage is very soft and it only lasts a few hours on me because of how soft it is - it vanishes quickly. Considering I don't like pineapple or too fruity scents this isn't for me.

muzzbait

honey-plum-pineapple; wow! what a concoction!!! amazingly unique and just so 'more-ish'! i can't stop sniffing my hand. it's mesmerising and oh-so-charming. i am persuaded...

seekritdude

First thing to get out of the way. This gets compared to D&G the one, and Pure malt. I see neither. Completely lost on me.

I was pleasantly surprised at the opening. Its a really nice fruity smell. Although a lot of the fruit is dry, the pineapple for me is crisp in contrast and adds a nice zest to it. Cant think of anything to compare it to off hand, but its nice.

After that starts to fade, projection wise the only thing that catches my attention is the honey which I get small wiffs of from time to time. Which then when I get closer, is lost in the fruity smell and the incoming "boozy" accord. I think this could be why some people have projection issues because the honey is warm, and something warm like this is very easily lost as the rest of the fragrance is fairly dry. Theres nothing to tingle your nose.

And when as it dries down I get a very alcohol smell. I would compare it to By Kilians straight to heaven. Calling it "boozy" wouldnt do it justice because the alcohol is just to strong. Its much more than that...

Projection is light, but longevity was fine on me. 8 hours is doable.

But as for the smell it self, I enjoy the opening. But once that goes away the "boozy" smell is to strong. And at this point I can deff see why some consider this old and not well. First part is a winner for compliments second part not so much. And if I wanted to smell like the latter for any reason I think Straight to heaven probably does that sorta vibe better.

Scentmad

Heady mix of raisins, cognac, honey, woods with an elegant savoury note to counterbalance the sweetness. I received this this morning and couldn't wait to try. Lovely. I think this is a really delicious unisex fragrance.

mell

A grown up gourmand. This does for gourmands what Mitsouko does for chypres .Boozy fruity elegant luxury. It smells of booze cigars coffee and richly heavy fruit compote. It is decadent the very best that money can buy. It is hedonistic epicurean and comforting all at the same time.It makes you drift away to another time another world another lifestyle. Your mind enters into the world the beautiful fragrance conjures. A wonderful muse for fantasies. Delicious realistic foodie heaven.
The only downside for me is it does not project and I like to smell wafts of my perfume during the day .I had no problem with the longevity. I solved the projection I sprayed it on my scarf so had it under my nose all day .This worked perfectly. A lovely comforting hug for dreary winter days.

Houdini4

Oh lord thankyou for 1270!!!
I'd read the note breakdown for this fragrance and thought how perfect it sounded but past experience has taught me to expect disappointment.
Finally got my hands on a sample and I'm so glad it delivered!
The pineapple note is the first thing that hits you and it's sweet and realistic then there's a coffee, patchouli, cacao, vanilla wonderfully Nutty gourmand thing.
1270 is a class act from start to finish it makes you smell edible...positively edible. I don't mean this in a ridiculous sense but in a deeply sensual way. The pineapple is persistent and you do get a jammy, plummy little bit figgy thing too it's an immense fragrance.
If you couldn't tell I adore this scent my first impressions have been very good however it didn't last very long on my skin. Once again a second wear should yield answers regarding longevity.

Update: Upon wearing a second time I'm just as captivated as when I first caught a whiff of this lovely juice. To me the prominent notes are pineapple, cacao and wood. It's almost like a pineapple upside-down cake covered in nutella, it has a kind of caramelized quality without being too sweet. I think that's because of the honey element and the fact that it doesn't feel 'blended' particularly, more like the pineapple sits right on the top and feels juicy and clear compared to the warm, sweet base. I adore this fragrance and really want it but the performance is a bit of a let down and it doesn't project. Despite this it smells really really good and before I got so heavily into niche fragrances I would be prepared to put up with some minor short comings. (Something like Tom Ford For Men springs to mind.) for this reason and the fact that the price is high but not extortionate I will still consider getting this.

99twiga

A bit on the ladies side of the unisex measure

Opens with something akin to pineapple, or apple, or pear or a fruit that is a combination of all three. This is the best part and fades in less than a minute.

Basic honey after that, maybe with a little fruit juice nearby. Not a lot happening here.
Sillage 1/5
Longevity 0-1/5

Pleasant, but, more of a food approximation than a fragrance(something one loves to wear)

jedikitty

I'm testing my tiny sample right now, and getting a whole lot of honey, resin and vanilla from start to finish. These three notes last till the very late drydown, some 4 hours later. Other than those notes, I do get some fruits - mostly prunes, and nuts mix in there too, but no linden (unless it has drowned in honey note), no flowers and, sadly, no coffee.

If there is orange and cacao in there, it does not come through on my skin at all. Same for pepper and/or spices. I think, pepper would give it that nice gentle kick, so I'm quite disappointed that I cannot detect it, at all.

To sum it up then:
Quite delicious but, with all that honey and vanilla, also quite uneventful. Despite that, I actually love it! This almost "edible" arrangement seems to make an excellent antidote to the wintry blahs I'm currently blessed with.
Would I buy a full size of 1270 Frapin? Yes, someday, when I can afford it. For now, I think I can get my vanilla overdose from Burberry which is much more affordable, and lasts just as long, if not longer.

Longevity: about 4 hours
Sillage: soft to moderate

hadassa

Light summery gourmand, totally unisex, would work wonders on a man I think.

I get lots of pineapples in the opening, and after that the woodiness unfolds, slightly powdered with tonka.

Very lovely, although too light.

josevancouver

This is a beautiful fragrance....a niche version of Pure Malt with more natural ingredients. Is the longevity on this fragrance as bad as the reviews I read? No. I get a good 5 hours with 3 strong sprays. I also created my own scent lotion, mixing a small tub of unscented moisturizer with about 8 sprays and mixed it overnight with the lid screwed down.

This scent is gorgeous.

TeaforTwo

This is a stunning, grown-up gourmand. The mouthwateringly juicy plum in the opening is amazing, and, what's even nicer, it is still detectable later on, when the fragrance dries down to a very refined, sweet-woody-boozy powder. A comparison with Botrytis would be obvious, but where Botrytis has a slight tendency to become overly sweet, this stays balanced throughout. The best gourmand for those of us wary of saccharine scents: it is tasty, but never cloying.

joplinbaby

the opening is great, but after 3 minutes this scent is gone

BlueMoon

NICE & EASY GOURMAND

The opening is fruity with some other notes (hard to detect) giving it some depth.
After a short amount of time, the fruit remains, and the vanilla and cacao peek thru.

After an hour, the fruit disappears, leaving a very pleasant vanilla/cacao/coffee.

Not overly sweet - it's a wearable gourmand from beginning to end.

freddinos

I bought a sample from a reputable seller, even though I was sure I would love it and was ready to blind buy it even! It could have been the perhaps incorrectly decanted sample (which I doubt because the rest of my purchases were perfect!) or my skin chemistry, but all I got was pineapple. I wanted spices, cognac, warmth and coziness but fruity and very realistic pineapple was all I got on my skin. A huge disappointment, but will definitely try buying another sample from elsewhere, this sounds too good to pass up at first try:)

antfarm

I loved this at first. It smelled like cinnamon, cognac, and blueberry cobbler. It gave me that warm, satisfying feeling like I was with family at a winter holiday brunch.

Now a half hour later it only really smells like burned butter and resin, with a sharp "sugar" note thrown into the mix. Not fair.

lyolya

It would be a strange choice for someone who doesn't even like/drink cognac, but...love at first sniff! Warm and cozy, this scent envelops you and carries away. A co-worker told me that a woman wearing this scent does not belong in the mundane office environment, more like a gent's club where expensive cigars are being smoked, expensive leathers are everywhere you look, expensive drinks are being poured.
No great projection or longevity. It is a very intimate scent. However, and maybe for this exact reason, I want to hold on to it and never let it go.

kris919

The opening made me fall in love with this perfume. best opening ever! I couldn't believe how good this smelled. it's a delicious raisin/plummy/sweet honey/coffee/vanilla combo. Incredibly blended. I've heard a couple people say this reminds them of butterscotch, and I can see that too I guess. 1270 has two distinct phases on my skin. 1st- the awesome opening which lasts an hour or two. 2nd- a subtle vanilla drydown that goes away way too quickly. This perfume lasts a total of about 2 to 3 hours on me. This would be my signature if not for the poor longevity. Still and all, I will always always own a bottle of this, no matter how quick it disappears on me. love it love it love it

LeisaSch

Yeah baby - what a delicious fragrance. Sexy as hell.

This is as gourmand as they come, but not in a sugary dessert way at all.

Rich and boozy, deep ripe fruits, spices, a hint of coffee and lots of gorgeous honey and vanilla. Somehow this all comes together in a really good way and makes Frapin 1270.

mippymuppett

Wow, this is really very different. Right out of the bottle...I was like holy pineapple. The fruit lasts a lot longer than I thought it would. Now the sweetness of the fruit is blending with the coffee and spices and it has almost a smokiness to it. And thru all of this the booze keeps pushing itself forward. This has been such a fun scent to try and figure out. Definitely not linear. Sometimes scents can smell like a big hot mess when this many notes are listed but in this case they work beautifully together like the ebb and flow of ocean waves. This does not scream "Look at me". This seductively lures you over. Really a treat for the senses!!! At first I wasn't sure if I would order a FB but after the first hour I am all in. Seriously, get your hands on a sample and go on a wild ride!!! Fantastic!!!

rschmidt65

I bought a bottle of this after doing some guided sniffing at a perfume shop. Initially I loved it, a rich gourmand scent with my favorite vanilla tonka accord. Yum. Sniffing it was so satisfying with the pineapple, plum and coffee smells and it was sweet and somehow chewy like Panforte. My only hesitation was that it was maybe too masculine for me. Well I got over the masculine problem but what finally kept this from being a "love" is the longevity. On me it doesn't last more than six hours and if I'm going to spend this kind of money I'd like it to last all day. Also, as the weather has gotten warmer, I've found it somehow smells more musky and manly. I'll try it again in when the weather cools down and I'm looking for a comfort perfume for the evening.

tbook15

As soon as i put this on my skin i got an amazing and refreshing pineapple note. That was so authentic and amazing but then after 10 seconds its gone. Then it turns to the honey and boozey notes. Very nice and classy, the drydown is somewhat reminiscent of the pure malt. Great scent and lasts a solid amount of time but doesnt project at all.

jeffwithfrags

Very disappointing. I was expecting a thick rich and heady/syrupy opening of plummy pineapple jam - but it more resembles an odd dilution of passion fruit-orange soda!

1270 is strange because for me it opens with the airy passionfruit note with hints of orange and booze. I just didn't get it.

This would seem heavenly for some but just sits oddly with me because the fruit is constantly showing more of an orangey side than the lemon/grapefruit I prefer with safer choices.

But then it uses very fine ingredients - boozy is always warming and classy - and other gourmand element like prunes with amber is really enjoyable. It's oddly sweet, more like delmonte fruit but diluted - rather than rich, thick.

But it's also a blend rather than a defined pyramid so if one doesn't like any one note in here, it can cause problems on paying $150 for the bottle. A case of too many cooks - maybe because there are *loads of fine notes here!

I would have loved a blend centered around the dried fruit, rare Guiac wood and amber for a more bold amber oriental feel, instead of the airy 'skewed' fruit-punch mix.

So this for me is a pass - give and take, but candy-creme orange passionfruit lovers will well, love this!

5/10.

Pleasantly booze-lite yet slightly medicinal. I can smell all of the notes listed with balminess resting on vanilla coffee. It is a bit headachy sweet with resin and pineapple on top and that lasts for a while.

I can see why many love this frag, its nice and smells warm, like a coffee bar on an overcast day but I prefer resins and beans in the base and would rather drink my cognac than wear it however I keep coming back to this.

Gooey, fruity perfumes are not really my thing, and upon application Frapin 1270 FRAPIN seemed way too sweet to me. I shrugged to myself, "another celebrity-esque niche launch?" Fortunately, the sweetness subsided to some extent after that, eventually producing a relatively pleasant gourmand scent.

Still, I cannot join in with those who have heaped praise upon this perfume. It seems like such a jumble of gourmand elements--everything but the kitchen sink (dried fruits, plum, honey, the list goes on and on...) appears to be here, and I am not at all sure why. To be honest, even though the sweetness diminishes after the opening, 1270 Frapin ends by making me feel as though I need to go take a bath before ants hunt me down to crawl all over my body.

Well, like I said, this is not really my sort of thing. People who like very sweet perfumes will find that this one smells more natural than many.

Frapin 1270 is a delicious gourmandish scent. The sweetness is soft, yet creamy, caramely with some nuts in the middle. Overall, it is warm, boozy, and intoxicating with a nice vanilla drydown. Judging the scent alone, I think Frapin 1270 is a fantastic juice – it’s one of the few fragrances that made me smile upon initial application.

The longevity is just decent using my dab vial, and it seems to sit closely on my skin, but I’m getting faint whiffs of it ocassionally. Frapin 1270 needs to be unleashed from the spray bottle, it is that good!

I just bought a sample from Perfumed Court. I don't get any orange or other fruits on me. I just get the Tonka Bean, cacao, and vanilla. I like it, but don't love it. Make sure you try a sample before buying.

Edit: June 1, 2013: After using the entire sample, and wearing it to work, I want to amend my review to LOVE IT!!!! For me, the base notes turned out to be the plums, vanilla, and honey. It just smells so good! I'll be buying more, definitely!

The real "Elixir des Merveilles" for me. That's how it should be called. Divine, I mean divine!

Not my style. At the opening it reminded me a little bit of Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. After it settled down, I don't know, nothing special to me. After many hours I could smell a nice fragrance but not extraordinary. And I'm one of those people who go crazy for anything sweet, this is just not sweet enough, or at least it's not my kind of sweet. Also, I could not diguistingsh the notes, it was difficult because it is indeed a complex fragrance. Oh and I also felt that this was an old perfume, like it feels like something they would've come up with in the 80's. I don't know, I can't describe this fragrance.

This is an exquisite little symphony of a fragrance. Sillage is subtle, and longevity is brief, but it's so absolutely gorgeous that it merits reapplying later. Gorgeous plum and spice, coffee and amber make for a wonderfully complex and elegant blend. Equally sexy for man or woman. This is at once a marvelous classic and utterly modern.

I'm thrilled to say that 2.5 years after falling in love with this delectable fragrance, I finally obtained a bottle today. I'm beyond thrilled.

I agree with donz1. This a masterpiece. I cannot afford a full bottle, but I love it so much I ordered a couple of samples just so that I can smell it now and then. That's how much I love it.

Masterpiece. Nuff said

I've never smelled a plumb that smelled this plumb-y. This is a fantastic scent - fruity, creamy, warm.

I can understand why this is considered unisex, but if you like your fragrances a little edgy - vaguely thuggish -- this one will prove too polite. Too polite for me anyway. If there were some ginger or fennel in there, I might have to reconsider.

The opening was so chic spicy, enjoyable, but very short. Then the perfumed turned to be a round soft sweet scent, very nice one. As someone mentioned, a safe scent indeed. I also think a man would wear this scent better. Guessing the price is high for the longevity of three hours at most. Still.. I may buy a full bottle because I liked it a lot.

This perfume gyrates all sweetness and spice without tip-toeing over the line into cloying. Far too simple for my tastes at this price tag, however, but a lovely, comforting fragrance nonetheless. I wish Frapin had walked the line a little tighter, risked a little more for a truly unforgettable fragrance instead of this very lovely, but very safe bet.

ralucucky

Pleasant, but too nutty for me.

candymarie

Frapin 1270 started out very promising, with an inviting luciousness and complexity that the notes pyramid led me to expect . . . but after a few hours it dried down to a sort of fruity popsicle or elegant bubblegum aroma. While quite pleasant from start to finish, this type of drydown doesn't justify the pricetag to me.

Shanester66

Not a huge fan...its kinda safe and nice and comforting but there are many other less expensive options that I do and can where to satify any desire to pull the trigger on 1270...enjoy fellow fragheads...I'll bow out on this one. Cheers.

Name is classic,
In my eyes is this a very sexy heavy coffe fragrance, i have sample of it i think to buy a big bottle, its projects on me very well... spray not more than 3 sprays with this stuff you kill people,

the bad thing is its sprays very short and misty,

8/10.

Among my purchases i picked frapin 1270 instead of the more famous brother 1697, upon reading this is richer and less diluent.
Strangely, this fragance was what i would describe as familiar and somewhat homey, these were combination of notes played over again and again in many mid base composition, in this case it is simply amplified but still remains quite muted due to the lack of top notes. After much thought, it finally struck me this nicely honeyed plum, was the accord of starfruit, a delicious tropical delight. In fact the composition stands out as quite a fruity wood, pineapples? hazelnut? oranges. The spice will meet you in a few minutes, but this last briefly.
As another review had stated, this to me lacks character, if you re going to go bold, go all the way. Nevertheless a nice tame fragrance to wear on spring day.

While I'm a bit tired of gourmands and don't really love to smell exactly like real food, Frapin 1270 was not gourmand enough for me. It's definitely a quality perfume, and I have no doubt it's the beloved of many people. Lasting strength was long, at least 10 hours on me. Projection was classic--not a sillage bomb, but not a skin scent either. Frapin 1270 starts out with a strong amber accord and bitter black coffee. As it dries down, the sweetness and creaminess of honey and vanilla come out more, and after about 8 hours I get a cinnamon drydown. It's warm and cozy, rich, elegant...but when it comes to coffee perfumes, I think I might prefer Bond No. 9 So New York.

I have a 50% bottle of this I'm looking to swap for Pure Malt. PM me if interested

I'd buy this if it didn't last only 30 minutes on my skin.
