Air di Gioia by Giorgio Armani is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Air di Gioia was launched in 2016. Top notes are Salt, Neroli and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Peony, Ylang-Ylang and Orange Blossom; base notes are Cypress, Moss, Patchouli and Cashmere Wood.

Armani presented Acqua di Gioia in 2010 as the fragrance of the sea and placed its aquatic character in the foreground. It is dedicated to a woman who is a ''strong, dignified and free spirit but in perfect harmony with nature''.In the spring of 2016, the collection is joined by two new editions, Air di Gioia and Sun di Gioia, which symbolize the breeze and the summer sun, thus expanding the collection of natural elements of water, air and fire.

Air di Gioia is dedicated to the element of air and is aimed at the free, unpredictable woman. The new release reportedly evokes a sensation of the scent of freedom. It consists of a salt accord in the opening of the composition, a floral heart of lush peony, and a woody and sharp base of patchouli and cypress.

The fragrances are available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Salty woody earth, with crushed orange blossoms and flower petals beneath your feet. This is a wet earth fragrance to me although it is called air. There is a woodiness and wet soil element to the opening. But there is a slight floral quality too, it is very fresh and clean. The dry down is fresh laundry but in an elevated way. When I want to smell fresh, clean and light. I reach for this. The bottles are all beautiful.

I have Giorgio Armani Light, Ocean, Air and Acqua. Love them all but below are ranked.
#1 Ocean: Salty ocean floral,
#2 Light: Perfect Spring Creamy Floral
#3 Acqua: Refreshing water and tea
#4 Air: An earthy clean scent

Can I just say if anybody is searching for this as a replacement for the body shop oceanus, then save your money. I fell into that trap. It smells NOTHING like it at all. It's a pleasant salty scent but very nondescript. Oceanus was fabulous 👌

miriamcarothers

I don’t know what it is about this perfume but I frequently crave it. Just received a back up bottle from eBay- I’m in that territory of “my precious” with it.
Everything about this scent feels perfect. It’s unique like a niche find but has the ultra professional polished effect from what you expect in a mass release major brand scent. No jagged screechy bits.
The saltiness adds volume- like a velvet bubble of ocean water. The patchouli is very present and gorgeous. Ugh I love it so much!!!!

compuestoanne

They can really smell you miles away when u use this perfume. I swear

gressssie

Eh, not for the price. It smells like a candy store.

Dort0625

So now I’ve settled into this more and I do love it, way more than I thought I did. I think it was mixing with another perfume I had been trying out that day. I will say that I have all of the “di gio” line (Ocean, Sky, Acqua etc) and Ocean is by far my favourite but this is a close second! It is much more aquatic than ozonic in my opinion but still really lovely!

Dort0625

I have been dying to get my hands on this! Mostly because it was showing that so many people were comparing it to Oceanus by The Body Shop and that was one of my favs in my younger years but I gotta say that nope! Not at all! Not only does it not smel like that, I am just at meh about this sadly! For how much I spent I can’t believe it! So sad about this because I love the other Di Gio scents, like all of them! I love “blue” scents they are some of my favourites but this comes off much more like a cleaner than I was expecting it to. I really thought it would be much more ozonic like in its name but it’s not “airy” at all, it’s sharp. I really hope it settles into something I enjoy more!

I did review Air di Gioia previously. I was just about to type that "this is my favorite scent" when I noticed, in another review, that it was to be discontinued!!!!!!! I ordered another bottle immediately. I am grateful to Fragrantica.

I live on the ocean, the north Pacific, where winds blow in different scents across the bluffs. When the ocean wind blows through the "coyote bushes" on the bluffs, it is like this scent....sweet but a tiny bit mentholic and woody and very fresh.

missmorganbaby

It gives beach town vibes for sure! I feel like I’m in Malibu laying on the beach having the perfect day. ❤️💕

shannfernando

I’m not entirely sure why but, has no one else realised that this is quite similar to White patchouli by Tom Ford?

coffeefifofum

Fresh and a little salty and then the floral comes in. Like beach air blowing through a garden. I'd call it a southern US beach, a bit swampy and earthy, rather than Mediterranean sophistication or California casual with more aggressive seas. Agree that it's sharp at the start and dries a bit musky. Not a favorite but very wearable. I have a roll on in my purse for the days I forget to put something on. Use sparingly.

miriamcarothers

Ugh I love this one so much.

JaeIsFancy

This was a blind buy that I was planning to take on my vacation to Greece. I sprayed one spray on my wrist to test it out and I immediately smelled flowers. This particularly reminded me of the air of a beach town that has a lot of flowers. I also smell mossy rocks and trees which I assume is tge Cyprus. Finally it reminds me a being at a beach un said town and your beach towel smells like has dried fluffily in the sun. As great as this sounds Im not crazy about perfumes with such long lasting flowers. In all this is a nice scent but not for me. The wear time was quite long - more than 8 hours and it radiates within arms length even after that amount of time. I can only imagine what would’ve happened if I would have sprayed a few more sprays. If you like this type then you won’t have to worry about carrying this around to top up.

Osmanthus Seeds

I really like this fragrance, but I have to use it very sparingly—1 pump is more than enough— since I have quite a sensitive nose and don’t want it to be extremely noticeable (I find this a good thing as the bottle lasts a long time). The scent is very fresh and mildly sweet, not too much, which I am very pleased with. From my experience, it lasts the whole day without need for reapplication.

I highly recommend it!

FarrahJoon

Smells like really cheap perfume. Blech 🥴

latafan

Just a quickie review for this one based on a sample vial I finally got around to trying.

Rather sharp citrusy-floral opening that on my skin dries down to a very prominent salt note on a bed of cypress, ylang-ylang and rather dry musk. The salt note to me is not so much that of a maritime salt, but rather the more mineral leaning kind that you smell when entering a salt cave in the mountains. Longer into wear the cypress note keeps receding while ylang-ylang and the soft muskiness increase.

Very quickly it's more of a skin scent on me, but a quite lovely one! Smelling this I picture myself out at the pool or the beach lying flat on my belly on my towel with my head resting on my arms while the sun warms my back. It strikes me as a great vacation type summer fragrance. Longevity is alright. Maybe 3-4 hrs. But I usually don't expect much more of summer type fragrances.

Well, so much for my review, while I'm reading in the previous ones that this is being discontinued. What a sadist my perfume store clerk is to hand me this tester only 3 months ago... I might have to have a word with him XD

creisert1981

This is just magnificent!

It’s giving me beachy, oceanic, summery vibes.

The first few minutes of the opening are a bit strong, but let it interact with your skin and this one blooms into something lovely. I’m getting salt water, floral, woodsy, and something sweet I can’t quite put my finger on yet. Maybe it’s the mandarin?

I really like this one. A balanced fragrance that could be worn by anyone.

JacquelineRenee

In my opinion, this isn't your typical light and airy fragrance. I would say this one could be unisex. Does it smell like sea air? No. The only fragrance that has ever nailed 'sea air' for me is Demeter's Salt Air. Now that's fresh, airy, salty sea air in a bottle.

With Air di Gioia, you get a blast of salt that softens once the peony opens up followed by heavy cashmere that turns this fragrance into an herbal musky sort of composition. I'm on the fence with this one. On my skin, I get zero mandarin or neroli. It's fairly masculine, and not something I would recommend blind buying. You need to get this one on your skin and see what it does. For an 'air' scent, this fragrance is very heavy and clingy. Do I regret purchasing it? No. There's something about this one I like; however, it's not a fragrance I would reach for often. I would classify this as an interesting scent, not a typical chypre but in the same vein.

PinkRainbow

This is so beautiful. A soft tart mandarin orange dominates a random bouquet of flowers. There is an element of sweet earthiness that gives the orange and floral tones a fascinating contradiction that could make your eyes water. Soft and seductive. A scent for all seasons.

Azisai-

Blind bought this yesterday! Reminiscent to Aqua di Gio (edt), this is perfect for summer. The cypress note is so smooth and addictive, and the neroli is a charming opening note. My dad sprayed this on his wrist and the cypress smells much stronger on his skin and brings out the salt, but on myself I don't feel it. It smelled a lot more feminine and white floral-y on me. So this could be a good unisex smell seeing as it didn't smell bad on him.

The sillage is moderate, and the longevity is pretty long. Again, good for summer since it's not too strong but not pathetic and weak. I know when I was out on a walk I could feel this scent in the wind, and it really felt like beach air. Just refreshing, but not laundry detergent-y. I haven't tried any of the other Acqua di Gioia ones, but this one smells pretty good and might just introduce me to the other ones.

While I did blind buy this, I wouldn't say it's a 100% safe blind buy. Some might think of it too strong, others too bland, but since it looks like this is discontinued I'd say grab a bottle before they're gone forever.

JillJill84

How dare Armani discontinue Air di Gioia!! This is in my top 5 all-time favorites and it is my go-to summer scent. I agree with another reviewer that this one should have been called Aqua and Aqua called air as this one smells more of the sea than the air. This scent transports you to another place. Like sitting on a Mediterranean beach on a cool day with the salty aromatic breeze gentle wafting. I find this aquatic but somewhat unique I don't have anything that smells like it. The opening as well as the dry down are beautiful and I feel this really blossoms in the heat. I have 4 backup bottles and 2 backup lotions. I'm utterly HEARTBROKEN to see this one go. If anyone has bottles they don't want I'll gladly buy them.

PrincessLeia22

I purchased a bottle of this in the summer, it was a blind buy. Acqua di Gioia was my first signature scent so I assumed it would be similar. When I sprayed it on my skin the top notes were nice, then I felt sickened to my stomach. I want to find out which note it is that doesn’t agree with me because I need to avoid it. I think it’s the ylang ylang note that I can’t stand or possibly the cypress or the combination of them. I love peony flowers and patchouli so I expected that I would love this perfume but I was sadly disappointed. I gave it to my sister for her birthday and she doesn’t get the same reaction as I did. I would rate it a 4/10 because I had a bad reaction to it and it gave me a headache.

Tolkashutka

Blind bought a 50mL from Ulta, and I'm pleasantly surprised. More siren than mermaid, certainly. >:]

Almost unisex, but not quite--I think the florals save it from being too masculine. I agree with @SeauxGood that aquatic =/= coconut, and for that I'm grateful.

@missk was spot-on with this bit: "Air di Gioia for me evokes the smell and the sensation of sitting on a deserted beach on a cold morning, rugged up in a sweater and a scarf, feeling the cool sea breeze against your skin. This is definitely not a bright, fun Summer scent to my nose. It appears to be more somber yet also soothing."

As par for the course with most perfumes and my skin, it's now a skin scent at the 3 hour mark--TBD how long it lasts until it fades entirely.

aldinatic

salty moss with a hint of neroli..its quite masculine..and bitter.

SeauxGood

Air di Gioia is what I WANTED Acqua di Gioia to be. It’s sand, sea, and sun in a bottle. The opening gives bright orange and neroli mixed with the salt, then it mellows into a sunny blend of orange blossom, ylang ylang, and peony. The cypress in the base is absolutely gorgeous. It’s supported by cashmere, patchouli, and sea moss, giving it a green-aquatic quality.

Air d.G. reminds me of poking around all the little shops up and down the Galveston Strand, visiting my family in coastal South Carolina, or childhood trips to the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. The fruity-floral freshness of this fragrance is heavenly to a beach bum like myself, so I’m sad it’s been discontinued. It’s nice when a perfumer understands aquatic doesn’t have to mean coconut. I’m not sure what they were thinking, but the new Ocean di Gioia simply doesn’t compare.

LenaM

Quite heavy on patchouli and cashmere.
In my opinion, Air di Gioia is rather heavy for an air scent, but I still get the idea. It does smell like air. Not southern, warm, citrus air that makes you dream of the Amalfi coast, but a northern, quite cold and brisk air.
Be sure to bring a denim jacket, and this air will be lovely.

sunsetterxx

Too girly for me. I just smell peony and nothing else.

louiee

Like a fresh and salty sea breeze.

Salt, peony, neroli and cypress.
Like a summer vacation on the beach.

Long lasting and medium silage.

A really plesant and feminine. Fresh, airy and not like any other summer/ beach perfumes I have.

Very delicious for both spring and hot summer days.

gmr1967

Fresh scent that has that scent of the sea mitigated by the sweetness of the peony. And it is the note that I perceive the most '. Discreet, like all the perfumes of this Maison, non-invasive. It does not have a long life but overall it is a pleasant fragrance. Not among my favorites but still the pleasure of wearing it.

RedFairy

I grew up with and have lived with ocean and beaches surrounding me on all directions. The smell of salt air has been in my veins since I was born. So I pick up on the salt air vibe this one gives very quickly. After about 20 minuets, it’s all I can smell. Tranquil, peaceful ocean air. It’s an odd thing to imagine but somehow I can detect that the peony and salt together are what create this. Peony and salty air are almost completely all that I get. (No citrus at all for me sadly) But it’s glorious. This is a specific ocean air scent. Not a sunshine day running on a beach. Not on vacation. This is a scent that locals know. It’s cloudy, almost windy. But you’ve gone out to the jetti to search for seashells and sea glass with your friends, because you know that after a storm brings the best treasures. No sunny warmth. Just pure beachy, salty, intoxicating air. I noticed the word “freedom” in the official description of this scent and I would agree. No walls to be seen. Delicious Open air.
Lots of fragrances try to replicate the ocean air scent, but I will tell you as one who lives in, and experiences ocean air most of the year...this one nails it. I LOVE this scent. I would bathe in this for Spring and summer.

maci2222

I can't smell any saltiness. This opens with a burst of... jellybeans? I guess that is sometimes what I get from ylang-ylang being in it. It smells gorgeous, perhaps it is the peony adding to it. It is the most beautiful sunset ocean breeze moving though coastal blooming trees.

I compared this to La Panthere edp Legere and La Panthere smells oddly peppery in its opening in comparison to this. They don't share notes but they do feel strangely related in a cousin kind of way.

B1995B

This is a lovely, fresh, aquatic fragrance. It reminds me a bit of Acqua dell'Elba - Classica. But to me, this one is a bit more "girly", thanks to the peony, I think. I will for sure repurchase this one!

justfloral

After spraying: it starts similar to Aqua di Gioia + cooling note of wintergreen? of some kind of plastic (like being in a shop full of plastic buckets, wc brushes, holders or in a sport shop - tennis rackets, balls).
After 30 minutes: I don't like this cooling plastic note, it smells like mix of synthetic almond and violet + wintergreen (I tried to consider what it was), it is strange. Not something I want to wear.
After 2 hours: it smells like ylang-ylang essential oil I had (not a very expensive one) (there is lots of ylang) + cooling note. Plastic note evolved into ylang-ylang.

Not my fav, but this one is more original than Acqua di Gioia.

♡2SmellDelicious

So originally I went to the fragrance section with every intention on buying, Acqua Di Gioia. Wanting to refresh my memory I accidentally sprayed Air di Gioia and man am I happy I did! I have fallen in love with this so much so it may just be my new signature scent! The notes come together beautifully. From initial spray to the dry down it remains seductive & enticing great sillage, little goes a long way. Not familiar with the note of salt in fragrances but the way it works in this particular parfum is quite alluring! I went out Black Friday shopping and the compliments were endless. Give it a try!

Lauren528

Air di gioia is very strong willed by nature. Both very feminine and masculine, this is the perfume of a natural born leader. Think woman with suit with shoulder pads coming to work in her corporate job, and this perfume complements the feeling of that thought.

sibaraa

A very faint mainstream aquatic.

lmwimsatt

This has an 80s feels to it

raiza1990

The opening is fresh and cool. After some time it gets „airy“ if you know what i mean. And slightly powdery. I don’t get much salt.
To me, this smells like baby cologne. Very soft and innocent. It is not bad, but i can not picture myself wearing it.
The opening reminded me of Paradise Elixir by Shakira.

Coquita

A very fresh chypre, with OK lasting power and sillage. It starts like a peony bomb on my skin, but it then settles on a more cypress-citrusy-neroli scent with a tad of saltiness. Nice fragrance, but it doesn't move me.

6/10

Oreinishii

So what this scent smells like in my opinion? Well for me it smells very fresh like shower steam and reminds me of a sunny beach and salty sea. I can smell the salt in this and that is what gives it that beach & sea vibe.
It is aquatic scent afterall.
Acqua di gioia smelled more sweet and it was not strong like this even i would have thought differently.
I like to wear this in cold weather and winter time as in summer.
In winter it's wonderful to smell it in the air cause it is so fresh.
I use it any time of the day, whenever i like to smell fresh, classy and unique.
This is not basic sporty fresh scent, it's something different
This scent is fresh, classy, unique and aquatic in my opinion.

elmccullar

Didn’t care for this one. This one smelled very masculine on me. Very boring and non-descript.

PricklyAndHot

Salty and citrusy. Less interesting fresh fragrance from the line.

charcolatebar

Thick, sweet, salty. I'm used to more sheer warm-weather fragrances and in the current London heat wave, Air di Gioia's initial blast is almost too much! After the first half hour however, the scent gets softer and more woody. I love catching whiffs of its stellar longevity throughout the day. A supremely beachy scent that avoids the current coconut/tiara sun cream obsession.

buren

Num num

Great....makes me feel cheerful...

Works well on my skin, complex but not overwhelming, a little oceanic, a little neroli...but layers of flowers and wood. A breeze...

SailorV

Air di Gioia is a refreshing take on the salty fragrance genre. It's somewhat beachy, without having a coconut/suntan oil, tropical flower or 90s melon aquatic vibe going on, and not too sweet.

Even though it's not listed in the notes, I can smell a clean jasmine/white floral note, supported by peony and cashmere wood. It's fresh, floral and creamy and this accord reminds me of Acqua di Gioia EDT a lot.
The salt and cypress notes make me think of a beach by a conifer forest on a warm, slightly windy day. I think the moss and patchouli add some earthiness to the drydown, but they're not dominant at all.
This is a pretty, fresh summer fragrance with average performance. No must have to me, but I can't say anything bad about it either.

auSoleil

This reminded me of Dior's J'adore in Joy; fresh, salty, aquatic, hints of fruitiness.. I think that the J'adore is possibly a little fruitier although it's been a while since I last tried it!
This is a very pleasant fragrance let's say, it's nothing ground-breaking but if will be beautiful in warmer weather. A great holiday fragrance if like me you aren't lucky enough to live by the coast!
For me it's a bit more interesting than the original Acqua di gioia, and to compare again to J'adore In Joy, this is an EDP so I imagine that it will have much better performance although I haven't finished my skin test as yet :)
All-in-all it's pretty and summery.

blueberrycheesecake

Absolutely gorgeous.. This is my favourite from this line and i feel it is so underrated and misunderstood

It is neither generic, nor aquatic. It is quite unique!

The first stage is confusing. It opens somewhat sharp and bitter with a tad of citrus. Then it turns more floral, but is still harsh. But when the perfume finally finds its form, it is beautiful. As it settles more, it turns slightly sweeter. Yes, it is somewhat "salty", floral, aromatic with a hint of sweetness. The patchouli is very detectable in the drydown. This one needs its time to settle to be fully appreciated!

Great summer fragrance

SoulScent

I normally love Aquatic notes but on my skin it smelled very sharp and astringent. I couldn't wait to scrub it off!

meg0825

I have wanted to test this fragrance and was happy to receive a sample today. I get a salty ocean air vibe from it, but I don't really like it. It needs to be a little sweeter or fruitier. It's missing something for me.

bluepistachio

This smells like a clean generic scent. Definitely smells airy and fresh. It's not the most unique scent so it is easily forgettable. I do like it but don't love it. If you like fresh inoffensive fragrances then give this one a try.

lmwimsatt

This is strong compared to the other gioias. So that's a huge plus

muahah

It's salty, fresh with bit floral and wood. Nothing sweet or soapy about this. For me this doesn't really remind sea, rather lightly there is something about bleach. Personally for me this seems heavy and potentially could give headache. Nice for everyday hot summer.

_christine_

Fresh, watery and a bit floral. After the initial blast, it's quite light and clean. It's nothing terribly original, but it's nice and light. Could easily fit into the unisex category.

colorfulmess

Its really nice on those days when I just want to escape to a coast line. I could be any coast, where salt mixes with the wood on a boardwalk or picnic table at the beach. I'm getting a bit of pine and dried laundry too. It reminds me of beach camping. Its dry, not too sweet. I am in love with it!

Soofiya

I had high hopes for air di gioia since I like the others in this line and I'm usually into fresh and clean floral scents
When first sprayed I thought not bad but not that I like it.on my skin it Smells like clean, almost soapy peony and white florals(a soapy jasmine I was guessing).as mentioned before I love clean scents but it's not among good clean scents I know,I can get floral air freshner association in other reviews.still I may press the like button if it stayed like that but after couple of minutes I could feel something aquatic/ozonic wafting through clean florals.in this stage I started to understand what other reviews mean by saying a cool breeze in seaside.well,I highly dislike aquatic/ozonic scents so no wonder I dislike it in this stage.I gave it enough time to drydown and it changed but didn't get any better for me,patchouli and woody notes started to show up and become strong.what lasts on my skin for some good hours is a hint of clean and soapy but not lovely florals+ something that makes me think of cool air of seashore(like salty, wet air)+ patchouli and other woody notes with green edges.there's nothing for me to like here so this is my least favorite one in gioia line(sun di gioia is my most favorite)
Armani air di gioia is a cool,non-fruity non-sweet summer scent,it has a unisex vibe and doesn't have happy, carefree, sunny, sparkly qualities of some other summer scents

lel9gds

Reminds me of Fabric conditioner. Someone suggested that it smells like the air before a storm and I can certainly relate to that when I smell this perfume.

fay-rose.moutzouri

Finally, a fresh floral scent which doesnt smell like bathroom cleanser! I have to say i never really like acqua di gioia because the jasmine was too strong for me...but i tried this beauty and it is exactly what i was looking for: an aquatic ,fresh, little sour ,floral smell..perfect for summer days...reminds of ocean breeze and countryside...just AMAZING

Longevity:8,5 /10

prang

It's really nice, fresh and clean scent, love to wear in summer or spring makes me feel clean and fresh. I think this quite unique, classy, earthy but something sweet. It sits on my skin last all day long with a little sillage not overwhelming, can't tell how much I love this perfume.

missk

Air di Gioia is quite lovely. I must admit I wasn't expecting much from this new flanker in the Acqua di Gioia line. The original was a tad too tart and fruity on my skin, however Air di Gioia appears to be more floral with the subtlest hint of ocean air and woods.

Air di Gioia for me evokes the smell and the sensation of sitting on a deserted beach on a cold morning, rugged up in a sweater and a scarf, feeling the cool sea breeze against your skin. This is definitely not a bright, fun Summer scent to my nose. It appears to be more somber yet also soothing.

Perhaps I am quite partial to this fragrance due to its dominant orange blossom and peony blend. Florals tend to be more my cup of tea than fruity and/or sharp aquatic scents. I loved the original, since discontinued Acqua di Gio for Women, and I feel that Air di Gioia is the closest in terms of matching its character.

Whilst not overwhelming, Air di Gioia does have excellent projection and longevity on my skin. This flanker has renewed my appreciation for Giorgio Armani and their regular line-up of fragrances. I love how soft, fresh florals are starting to make a bit of a comeback in 2017.

I look forward to re-testing this fragrance a few more times before the warm weather disappears. I may in fact be adding Air di Gioia to my collection very soon.

Tussa

At the first sniff I just tought, it is Oceanus by TBS. I felt that well know clean laundery softner scent (in a good way). But even thought it is Armani, i find it a bit pricy for this kind of scent. Silage and longevity is very good

KDJ

This is very interesting! The salt note in the formula really sharpens the overall feel of the fragrance, but at the same time, the peony gives me even more depth with a floral and fresh vibe. Boy is it strong! I have a little sample, and its scent is wafting wherever I lay it. Fresh, aquatic, floral, perfect for the spring and summer.

Also, this reminds me of Alien by Thierry Mugler. Maybe it's the floral note, but Alien is more on the sensual side with the amber, while this is more fresh and clean with the salt.

Limadunia

I tried this perfume a few times in the shop, and I love it. On me it smells like fresh air, like wind blowing into your face on a nice summer day. Unfortunately, and the reason why I haven't bought this so far, it lasts only minutes. By the time I was out of the shop, I couldn't smell a thing! Given it's pretty expensive too, I feel like it isn't worth the money.

Madrona

This one doesn't do it for me. Ozonic salty green peony, migraine material. Like overdosing on fabric softener. No thanks.

dglightblue

Rounded rather than sharp, creamy marine fresh, floral ish, watery slightly, I don't get salty, I get woody only if i press the crease of my arm together and sniff a second time.
A man could wear this, it's not manly as such, it doesn't have that men's deodorant smell, not a love, but certainly worth a look. It's not sexy delicious edible type, it's clean and put together.

Edit, the beginnings are the rounded marine fresh floral, the mid notes I'm starting to get a bit of a woody vibe

Autumnal

oh dear, a terrible blind buy. Does not smell "airy", fresh or even salty. Strong smell of "flowers"...old fashioned flowers. Racked my brains to try and remember where I had smelt this before....then realised it was the expensive flowery soaps that my grandmother loved buying when I was a kid. Magnolia/lily of the valley etc.....exactly the same vibe.

snoopyQ

MMMMhhhhh... a fresh, clean, slightly marine breeze.
This is very much a-wake -the-tired-self-up-kind of scent.
I detect citrus notes in the opening.
A lucious ,slightly salted, rose in the heart.
A tad of musk in the base, weaving this composition together.

I can see the seaside, smell the slalty air and experience the freshness of roses evaporating their soft aroma into the very sun dried air.

Verdict: nice fresh clean scent. Not offensive at all.
Lastingpower and sillage are moderate.

Sabretoothkitten

I have this on right now...I really like the notes but its very strong, sillage wise. It is airy, a bit aquatic, definitely floral and spring like. I like it more than Acqua di Gioia. There is another fragrance that smells almost identical but I can't remember, its driving me crazy lol.
I don't get any patchouli at all but perhaps that comes hours later? I enjoy after the initial spray. Its very cool, chilly spring scent. Feels sophisticated.

mirisfrik

Wow, finally Gioia that appeals to me. It is a beast. A bomb of fresh air. Hard to describe, but it is a wave that makes you feel like flying. Wonderful.

Sailor Pluto

I find this scent very similar to L'Air by Nina Ricci. I thought it was pure magnolia when I smelled it earlier! I am shocked that it does not contain any magnolia at all! This scent is not sweet at all and a little harsh. Not a safe blind buy in my opinion.

celia46

I test it today, and reminds me Angel sunessence eau legere. It's not identical but the tamed patchouli and sweet acord in the drydown smell similar to me. The salty note it's there and it's blend beautiful with my skin. I really like it.

janeofdoe

I usually don't like "clean" scents but this is great AND squeaky clean! Like......geez how do I describe this....aquatic linens. Imagine floating above the ocean on your magic carpet, which is a freshly washed and dried, huge beach towel. Lol!!!! Not much help? Yeah...I know, I suck at this. It's just really clean and crisp. An ocean of dryer sheets......yeah...I'm just gonna stop now. Y'all go try it. Lol!!!! I'll be purchasing this I'm very sure!

Beautiful fragrance. It smells like Italy to me, may be because I wore it in Florence and may I say, it really suited the atmosphere:)

fragrantperfumes

Beautiful aquatic. It's compared to The Body Shop's Oceanus perfume---it's been years since I've smelled that one, but I can remember that it did smell similar. It has a kind of lightly sweet aquatic scent with a refreshing touch of salt. It also has a good sillage and longevity also.

Nikkafragrance

This is a Gioia from a new generation - salty and aromatic, nothing reminds me of the previous citrusy bombs. I like the sillage and the scent is very versatile. On me salt, peony and cypress are most prominent. I really love this one. Office friendly, very summery and smells of nature.

alfa.lázcares

I don't know what it is about me, but my body loves to amplify white flowers and it happened with this one.
The begining was very similar to the Aquas, maybe a tad lighter, but after a couple of hours I noticed there was a scent there that was begining to get sharp and annoying. I though it could be the patchouli but that really isn't. To me is the combination of Neroly and Orange Blosom. The intensify on my skin and they are on the verge of being too sharp and give me a headache.
The smell is nice enough, but I would not buy it cause it just doesn't work on my skin. When I tested it on papper I didn't get that sharpness.
I think I'll stick to the aquas.
Sillage and Longevity are moderate.

Mitsuko

Anyone who remembers and misses the cool aquatic breeze that was Oceanus by TBS, will like this, a lot.

genny17

I like it better than Sun, still, unimpressed by it, poor quality maybe , or too light!? It is fresh enough then it is gone so fast, like a body spray!? Those two flankers are really fails in my opinion!!

HillTop

A very refreshing alternative to Cool Water. Well done and easy to wear on hot summerdays. It is aquatic and fresh - not sharp- with only a hint of a shy rose. This air smells green to me, quite minty and reminds me on Aqua Di Gioia. Feels like a gust of wind coming up from the sea, along dunes, passing grasses and cypresses. Lasting for more than 5 hours on my skin.

Cannelline

I tested this today, a few hours ago. I did not like it at all, something keeps making me think of cigarette buts. Very hard to wash off, too.

Zetamamman

Too sharp and unpleasant on me. I should just stop testing these :)

unsrsly

I really like this. So fresh, clean and uplifting. Lasts forever on me too. I mostly smell peony, orange blossom and neroli. I think the name is very fitting as it feels like a sunny but breezy day by the ocean.

ScarlettX

I like this one less than the Sun di Gioia perfume. It's white floral fresh. I can sense peony, orange blossom and neroli. This pure neroli smell, makes me mad, it's such a screechy scent.
People associate sea and fresh air with the fresh scent and blue bottle but to me it's just strong floral scent and not the nicest one.

Arlene-Beatrix

Very fresh, slightly salty, intense cypress scent. Quite manly, to be honest. It smells like humid, marine air after a storm. I like it, but I don't find it feminine enough.

auroramaria

I didn't like it at first but then I got a sample and it grew on me, this is fresh, acquatic elegant and lasts a good few hours on me perfect scent to smell great in summer and late spring.

As of the today, the notes listed on Fragrantica are totally incorrect which you should be aware when buying blind this fragrance. There is NO salt or cypress actually in oficial notes description. Here is a copy paste from official Giorgio Armani beauty web site:

The olfactory score is an Italian melody of mandarin-neroli, a “salty floral” refrain composed of peony, ylang-ylang, and orange blossom, all on the base of a woody, patchouli-Cashmeran hymn with a hint of moss. The wake is buoyant and euphoric, as free and exhilarating as pure, fresh air.

As you see, salty floral acvord is actually a combination of other notrs than just a salt and it is sad to see that such a huge resource as fragrantica misleads its thousands of users by posting wrong notes.

SoheePark

Woah how come such a delicate and innocent scent got so many dislikes! Personally, I love it, it's fresh and airy but also silky. It's cheerful and aquatic but in no way childish. It's suave and amazing.

ShoppinQueen

Finally I found The Body Shop Oceanus again!

auroramaria

I have got Sun di Gioia and a friend of mine got Air instead, I don't like Air but boy does it smell good on her!!Very fresh and salty and kinda acquatic but also sophisticated with a touch of patchouly to ground it.
It smells so good on her I'm considering buying a small bottle for me and use when it gets hot.
It reminds me a lot of CK Reveal

auroramaria

As much as I love Sun di Gioia Air I find a bit too harsh in the opening.I am not sure I like the salt and patchouly combo it does have a beachy feel but for that there are better scents around

Valy in the sky

I could sadly detect no salty note, just a pleasant floral one - need a second testing!

Berta15

Absolutely beauty!Very very beachy smell with a depth in it.The salt with patchouli and peony is very very beautiful combo.
The opeining was for me a little bit harsh and strong but fresh. But the dry down was gorgeous, the salt was fresh the patchouli was earthy, such when you walk on the beach. For summer or spring is a real beauty.Very feminine, refreshing beauty. This is on my wishlist from now.

kakamelia

I can´t help myself, but the first smell was like - omg, this is Cartier La Panthere in lighter version, isn´t it? Even there is no same note. I still can´t believe it, but that was my first oppinion. I have to test it again to confirm or deny it...

Mas777

Weird fragrance.. for test :-)
I love cypress..
